5 Stars We came to Saint in St. Augustine with a group of six for a friend's birthday, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Visiting from out of town, we were honestly blown away by the food scene here -- Saint was a definite highlight. We kicked things off with the bread service -- a huge portion of warm, fluffy bread served with garlic butter and honey. So good we were fighting over the last piece. We also had the Caesar salad, oysters (my only complaint is that they didn't serve them with vinegar), the sausage -- which was the standout of the appetizers -- and the fried octopus... which might've been the best I've ever had. It had this light fried glaze on it that gave it the most amazing texture. Absolutely unreal. For mains, I went with the osso bucco based on the server's recommendation, and it did not disappoint -- fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. My girlfriend got the lasagna, which was a huge portion and super filling. Definitely more pasta-forward than most, with perfectly al dente noodles -- really unique and tasty. For dessert, I had the affogato (personally would've liked a bigger scoop of ice cream), we all shared the limoncello cheesecake -- which was amazing -- perfectly tart with a buttery graham cracker crust. We also got the chocolate cake, which was good but probably our least favorite of the three. Service was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and made us feel totally taken care of. The place is beautiful. It's huge really but they don't seem to really explain all the places you can sit. We sat inside by bar area. Seemed like all the tables were kinda squeezed in. Not super romantic when so many people so close. Server was prompt and polite and made good recommendations. We started with the bread service which was epic. So many options and the spreads were great. For apps we tried the octopus and the zucchini. I'm seafood allergic and they made accommodations for that which was great. The zucchini was tasty but soft in center. Dip was good. Bf had the octopus and enjoyed it. We ordered the ossobucco the parm and the lasagna. The ossobucco was beautiful and come with a small spoon to enjoy the marrow-it didn't fit but nice concept. The risotto was good. The saltimbiocca parm was so good thin crispy and covered in cheese. Would have both of these again. The lasagna sounds so good and the flavor was but just not enough meat sauce or meat. Will probably not have that again. For dessert there's limited options had to torta fella nonna sounded promising but not as written came with pistachio gelato not lemon and was almost all The same texture again would not reorder. This is a beautiful location a brand new place. The ambience is absolutely beautiful and stunning inside outside patio area rooftop. We went there on the first week of opening so it was a little hectic and crazy, but I'm sure they will get it situated sooner than later, the food was good, but very pricey, but didn't stand out to be above or better than other places down there, but we do like it. We would go there again maybe for appetizers and drinks on the terrace to overlook The main strip and people watch. Try the Ani lobster rice ball that was good. All the appetizers are pretty good. I think the steak was overrated and very, very pricey, but a great location and I wish him the best in the future. read more

Went for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. Reservation was for 7pm for 9 people. We started off at the rooftop for drinks and one person from our table went downstairs to check on our reservation. They said it wasn't ready yet and would come get us upstairs when ready. When it got to 7:20, we checked in again and it turned out they had texted instead of coming to get us. We had to wait another ten minutes for our table. When we finally got seated, our server was very personable and knowledgeable of the menu. He made everything sound so good. I ordered the Cesar salad and the 100 layer lasagne and my bf got the insalata dei santi and braised veal osso bucco. Everything was very delicious. Although I doubt the lasagne was 100 layers! The veal was soft and tender. They surprised our group with a birthday limoncello cheesecake which was decadent and tangy. The restaurant itself was beautiful and located right in the heart of St Augustine. Rooftop has a great view of the sunset over the water. read more

My husband and I were in town for work & we're looking for some really good food. We found this place walking distance from our Airbnb & it was amazing. The restaurant was very nice & smelled wonderful . Our server Sam was very friendly & knew the menu well. We ordered the bread plate & it was a lot of tasty bread, roasted garlic, honey, garlic butter & more. My husband had the Chicken Saltimbocca Parmesan, basically chicken parm on steroids. I had the Short Rib Bolognese which was fantastic. Everything is made from scratch so fresh! They have a beautiful courtyard out back with a fire pit & great lighting. Very pretty restaurant with a nice ambiance. The menu looked great with many options; I got their variation of chicken parmesan. For the price, I was honestly disappointed with the lack of pasta or any side--the meal was only a piece of chicken. The burrata on top was also undercooked. My friend got a side of asparagus ($9) and it was only four pieces of asparagus. Our waitress was extremely off-putting and seemed either drunk or on drugs. She was very pushy on the drink and dessert menu, and she wouldn't leave us alone when we were adding the tip on the checks. First off, if you're looking for a beautiful restaurant with amazing decor and ambiance this place will knock your socks off in the decor department alone. If I was only rating how beautiful this restaurant is I would give it 5 stars. Unfortunately the food is what knocks this place down a star, I'm hoping these are just growing pains of being new. I will start with food that was amazing, the king crab leg was phenomenal such a wonderful balance of flavors and the mild heat and smokiness just elevated the already delicious crab ten fold. The fried mozzarella curds were so delicious and pillowy, the perfect crispy texture with just enough salt on them, and the sauce served with them was amazing. Next item I would race about is the lobster arancini, they were cooked to perfection with phenomenal flavor and the roe on top added such a wonderful salty texture to the dish. The 100 layer Lasagna was such a hearty flavorful dish, with a béchamel that is to die for on top. I would definitely order this dish again. Nonno's meatballs were also an amazing flavorful option, they were full of flavor, cooked to perfection and topped with delicious Parmesan that brought such wonderful nutty and salty compliment. Now for the underperforming items, the short rib bolognese and crispy potato. The short rib bolognese was served at room temperature with undercooked pasta and raw carrots in the sauce. The first bite I had was so off putting eating almost raw pasta, then taking a bite into the sauce with the raw carrots was incredibly disappointing after having such a great experience with the appetizers. Next the crispy potato, something I didn't think could be so messed up. The potato was over cooked and almost gummy, had no flavor and wasn't even salted or served with some type of flavorful sauce or butter. We will definitely come back in hopes of giving it another try or to just eat appetizers but really hope they improve on the bolognese and potato. I will say the service was great, very attentive and quick to refill glasses, checked in at appropriate times and cleared table promptly when needed. read more

We had a lovely lunch here last weekend! It was a hot day so we were concerned about sitting on the patio but there's plenty of shaded tables and fans. We were warm, but not uncomfortable. We had our pup so it was nice to find somewhere dog-friendly. The friendly girls at the hostess stand were great and also offered our dog a bowl of water. The Patio area is beautiful, full of lush palms and greenery - a great vibe overall. The food was great, lots of options including a brunch menu that looked really good. We opted for a sandwich, salad and the bread charcuterie. All was excellent with just one suggestion - I wish that the bread was not all toasted, would have been nice to have a warm, soft chew bread option. That's my only critique! Gorgeous place. Will likely revisit for drinks and small plates in the future. Enough cannot be said about the beauty and layout. The inside/outside bar and the courtyard lets you enjoy the Florida sunshine in relative comfort, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist district. That being said, I wonder if we shouldn't have just called the place, "Veal." It's also a single word, it's definitely avant-garde, and it so succinctly describes more than half the menu. This is not to say there are 30 veal dishes - there are only 5 or 6 - but the dinner menu only features about a dozen dishes. I know you're probably fact checking me right now as you look at the menu. You only see veal a few times. It is hiding in the Bolognese and sort of hiding in the Chicken Parm (hiding if you don't know or decide not to Google saltimbocca). For the love of Tony Soprano, why is it in the Chicken Parm? Drinks were good. Would have loved a larger wine selection. Bartender poured my husband's Guinness with expert precision. Mob-named cocktails were a cute touch. Service was ok. Waiter failed to steer us (steer, get it?) clear of the veal which was a true bummer. We had a reservation but were crammed into a tiny table at the busiest apex of the layout, making it difficult to enjoy our meal. Host station staff was charming but unable to seat us at our reserved time (which may be why we got the table of doom). Overall, I would go back but I would sit outside and nibble on the yummy bread service with some wine. I have a feeling the charcuterie would be an awesome choice, assuming it's not just veal. read more

Went twice recently. The lunch brunch menu was a 5. Lots of options for someone who doesn't eat meat. I had French toast and it was delicious. I then went for dinner and hardly any options for someone who doesn't eat meat and what I did get which was a lemon gnocchi should be removed from the menu. I would give it a 1. Service was great. The outdoor space is spectacular... truly beautifully done, and the live music was fabulous. Our server was kind and attentive, which made for a great overall atmosphere. We started with the lobster arancini. It was a bit different than expected, with lobster slices placed on top of the arancini rather than incorporated inside, but the flavor was still decent. For dinner, we ordered the veal and the lamb based on recommendations. The veal was excellent--generous portion and very well prepared. Unfortunately, the lamb was a major disappointment. The starch was cold, the lamb crust was soggy, and the meat itself was overcooked and not warm. It felt like a dish that may have been prepared earlier than sold to the next table. I didn't mention it at the time, but I only had two bites of the lamb and ended up just eating the asparagus--especially disappointing at the price point. We also tried the dark chocolate hazelnut cake for dessert. The gelato served with it was delicious, but the cake itself was dry and lacking flavor. While our server was pleasant and attentive overall, I do wish there had been a bit more awareness that something was off with the meal. We would return for drinks and maybe an appetizer in the courtyard, but overall the food felt overpriced and in need of more consistency. My husband made reservations for our anniversary, and we were so excited to try this place out! The ambiance and restaurant as a whole were beautiful and relaxing! We had an amazing server as well! To start - the lobster arancini was delish! Buttery and crispy and all around yummy. For dinner - we had the gnocchi (added chicken on the side) and short rib entrees - both delicious and very good portion sizes! The gnocchi was light and soft, and the whipped ricotta on the side was so fresh. As for drinks, the waiter pulled my husband aside to pick a champagne for our anniversary which was very thoughtful! Wow, bottom line is, The Saint was a huge let down. Like other patrons, i really wanted/expected to love The Saint, but as far as food quality/taste goes, The Saint failed miserably. The ambiance and vibe is simply great and pleasing to the eye. The bread presentation was impressive to look at, but was stale-like (lacked crisp) and was rather tasteless. The house salad, was of decent quality but the dressing was meh and could use some sweetness and a general overhaul, The breaded veal chop was tasteless.. the kale side was actually very good. My wifes filet with lobster ravioli was too salty and "not bad" as she put it. High point, the Nonna's meatballs were pretty good. Our server Hope was pleasant and responsive. Now, the bill, Im not one to look at prices but the disappointing veal chop was $79 , sooo,... For 2 entrees, meatball appetizer, no drinks and 2 side salads, the bill was $190.
