My husband and I were very excited to visit this restaurant on our weekend trip to St Augustine but ultimately were a bit disappointed. We had requested indoor seating on our reservation made weeks ago but they still tried to seat us outside. The ambiance was fine but not as portrayed online. I went to Saint with my family for a simple night out, and we absolutely loved it! I'd been there before at night when they first opened, mainly to enjoy their fireplace, but this time we tried the food....and it did not disappoint. I recently found out I can't handle gluten, and the staff were amazing about it. They were able to tweak a few menu items to make them gluten-free, which I really appreciated. Our waiter was super friendly, and everyone was attentive, even though the restaurant was busy. One thing I especially loved was the outside seating/setup....it's absolutely beautiful. I am lactose intolerant to a degree and do not eat beef or pork so sometimes my options are quite limited. I landed on the branzino (fish) as well as shared in the bread service, crispy artichokes, and zucchini fritters. I tried a little of each and every one of them were delicious. My meal came out and was also fantastic. They went through the special effort to prepare a side of white beans that didn't have pork in them for me (thank you chef!). They didn't have any dessert that I can eat other than the lemon sorbet, which by the way was also delish! I usually don't cave to get something so pedestrian at such a nice restaurant, but I wanted to partake in dessert with everyone. The food is gut wrenching hurling TERRIBLE. I'm gonna puke. My pasta was as hard as a rock and the cheese tasted like dirty feet. The table was not clean and never wiped down at all, and my drink had black specks in it, i got lemonade. The steak someone at my table got was asked for medium well and it came out basically pitch black, we had to ask for a medium steak and it came out well done, not even medium well. Hosts and servers were welcoming and helpful even though harried. Thanks to the crew for nudging us to sit inside instead of being sitting ducks for the oncoming thunderstorm. It was fun watching the bachelorette party scurry in during the downpour. Dinner AND a show. We ordered lovely cocktails that almost warranted the hype. I was expecting a better bar program to kick things off. The Nebbiolo we selected was a nice bottle but it took forever to get it because the wine storage is so disorganized. The savory sweet and hot pepper with sausage was the only app with bread that we figured would be an appropriate size for two. If there are more of you, there are bread and cheese plates that looked great. Caesar salad and pesto salmon were delicious and well prepared, but didn't achieve the level of greatness I was expecting. The venue, not the menu, is the star here. It feels like you are in a theme park that matches the history and culture of our ancient city. Granted I was on the bay front with gorgeous views in a beautiful building, I was expecting a little more than average price. Apparently this place opened only a couple of weeks ago but things ran smoothly. We were there on NYE and they don't take reservations so we showed up around 5:15pm and were seated immediately. We had a beautiful table on their patio. The holiday lights made it cozy and intimate. Plus the rat pack based music was a perfect accompaniment. If you have a little wait, there is a nice fire pit that many were enjoying. I chose the butternut squash ravioli and it was good. Liked the light crunch of the crushed nuts on top of the dish. Went to Saint with no reservation the Thursday before Christmas and was able to put our name down with about a 45 minute wait. About 25 minutes into our wait we got a text and were super excited to dine there! The property is large, with both indoor and outdoor seating and a second story as well as an outdoor fire pit. Our server gave us great drink recommendations which were all delicious. We also got the bread service and lobster arancini which were good. Unfortunately our main courses were just okay, I got the bolognese and my friend got the spaghetti and meatballs and the amount of meat to spaghetti was hugely off, we had almost no noodles and TONS of meat. My husband got the seafood pasta which wasn't very good unfortunately. Lastly, my other friend got the NY strip which he liked. I really enjoyed the drinks and the ambiance at Saint but only having a few noodles in a mountain of meat sauce was disappointing. However, the service and food is about a 3. We arrived at 12 for a lunch reservation. We ordered pretty quickly but did not receive our food for about 50 minutes. When the food finally arrived, it wasn't even hot. It came out at room temperature. The menu has plenty of appetizers, salads, pastas and entrees, as well as a few specials. I opted for the seafood bucatini. It was a small portion with 2 shrimp, 3 clams, and 2 mussels, one of which was closed. My husband had the short rib tagliatelle. His dish was also not hot.
