I love veggies so combined the vegetable and the chicken curry options. They charged me an extra $2 but so good. The curry flavor was sweet and a little spicy. Family craved some some pho and glad we dropped in here. A little on the pricey side for a large pho was close to $15+. But nonetheless was very delicious! The broth was tasty, noodles were buttery, and meat was deliciously tender. Parking was available right along the street but there is a paid parking lot shared with the surrounding businesses just a few steps away. Nice place. While passing through DC we got our usual Phò craving. Its become a new adventure just finding a place in each city I visit that has a vegan veggie broth on their menu. So you'll probably see my constant raves about vegan Phò lol. So now..the parking..if your not familiar with the area like myself I hope this helps. It seemed like everywhere we stopped in DC was metered parking. There is a parking area of the shopping center just behind the restaurant. Wren you park the meter sences your arrival and the meter begins to run a 1 hr time for free parking. It's $2 power hour after that so we added 30 minutes to the free hour for $0.50. We came in about an hour before closing. Not too busy. The bar area was clear just a few booths were taken. Really nicely decorated open space. Clean bathrooms. Very inviting. Quiet. Fast service. I had my laptop and asked for their wifi and they said they don't give it lol. Umm ok I don't rate based on wifi so all 5 stars from me however I imagine in a busy business city it just seemed strange. I just used my Hotspot so not a biggie again.. just a bit strange.. We only ordered the vegan Phò and it was delicious!《《 Mainly why I rate it 5 . It was so good we devoured it before I realized i didn't get a picture. My girlfriend has been a vegetarian for almost eight years. That was all changed when Saigon Saigon served us pork spring rolls. I am very disappointed with their service - the same (mis)management from Asian Zen Bistro. We ordered vegetarian spring rolls only to bite into the roll and taste pork. Wow! And we didn't even receive an apology from our waiter. He simply took the dish away without saying a word to us. I am shocked by their callous negligence and will not be returning. How can you make such a mistake and have no concern? Their tofu veggie pad noodles and small pho come in large portions with plenty of fresh vegetables, bean sprouts, lime, and peanuts. To be honest I definitely have slight bias towards Saigon Saigon. It's so easy to walk over and get food for a quick dinner pickup! I've tried their pad Thai with chicken and fried rice with shrimp. Overall it was good food, I definitely preferred the fried rice over the pad Thai, but that was personal preference. Going forward I'll probably order my dishes vegetarian by adding tofu or no protein, just because I didn't feel their protein was seasoned too well. I've had Thaiphoon which is located less than a block away and owned by the same owners and Saigon Saigon is definitely better in my opinion. I can't speak for the dining in experience, but ordering online is very easy. It was ready for pickup in about 15 minutes and was very easy to grab and head out since the payment was taken care of online. read more

The people are incredibly slow, rude, and dismissive. I felt rushed and mistreated. I wasn't given a menu, told to order, was given the menu-and the server took forever to come back. I requested ice but she never returned with the ice. I was served food and asked to leave shortly thereafter because they were closed. I was offered a container of my food. I told my server that a gentleman asked me to leave. She insisted that this wasn't the case. I point to the gentleman and he admitted that he had asked me to leave. She handed me the bag and walked away. Not even an apology for the rudeness. My thoughts? Recommend carry out as the only option if you are going to behave in such a disrespectful manner. This is an all time first experience being treated like this in any restaurant. I'll never return. Never again. There are so many ways to handle situations like this. One way is to simply say, "we will be closing at 10pm-will this be enough time or would you prefer carry out"? Disgusted that I spent $30 looking for Saigon. PS. The outside sign with the Happy hour specials caught my attention while I was shopping near by. I decided to go in and at least get a mojito and try a food item before heading back home. This place is location a few feet from the DSW at the Pentagon City metro stop on the yellow and blue line. It is very metro accessible and there's garage or and street parking nearby. I thought the specials were okay with different drink options. My mojito was good and the Thai chicken I ordered was okay. I would go back and try another item on their menu. The people around ordered huge sushi platters and a lot of stuff that looked great but I do not eat seafood. The staff was quick to make my drink and bring my food. I came towards the end of happy hour but it wasn't crowded. The decor was nice and the place was spacious enough for you to enough your meal whether the bar or table w/o feeling too close to the table near you. We had gotten an appetizer of Shumai dumplings- which I felt were quite dry so it was a bit disappointing - it wasn't your typical dim sum shumai which is what I was expecting (so maybe I was expecting wrong). My friend ordered pho while I ordered the Saigon Pad Noodles - which is legit Pad Thai (I appreciate the original names, but also, I was actually expecting a Vietnamese take on it). My friend thought the pho wasn't the best - although he IS Vietnamese so maybe he is harsher than most. Not that this is the restaurants fault, but it will affect my future transport decisions. The restaurant is a small-medium size, and would probably be ideal for parties of 2-6 but not much larger. When my food came, it looked delicious! The bowl was a very large portion and had a good quantity of each ingredient. I am always happy when I have leftovers so I can enjoy my meal a second time! I only finished half and took the rest to go. I appreciated that the staff brought some sauces to our table for me to add into my bowl, because I felt that the vermicelli needed just a little bit more of a kick! If you order online/delivery I would suggest asking for extra hoisin/siracha on the side! The purple dream was delicious although I felt that my drink was a little warm for my taste. The staff was very attentive and quick with our food and with the bill. My friend accidentally forgot to ask if their spring rolls had pork in it and the manager immediately got her a veggie one instead, leaving the pork one to me . Roaches! Went to Saigon Saigon on 11/16 with friends. Once our food was served, friend noticed a roach crawling out from UNDER the condiment tray. Yuck! Friend killed the roach,and the wait staff just shrugged it off, like it was a normal occurrence. Wait service was terrible. Food was horrible. The iced coffee is premade from powder and tasted awful. Beef Noodle soup was tasteless and hardly had any noodles. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. I broth is good. The portions are great. I ordered a small for lunch and was more than satisfied. The prices are a bit steep. I also order a Thai tea with boba to-go. The boba was mushy and grainy which I assumed meant it was either overcooked or old/ not fresh. The bobas texture was alarming because the drink was almost $8. Saigon Saigon is always a solid choice in my household for a low key meal or take out. We live about a two minute walk away so it really cannot get more convenient! Everything we have ordered in house or to take home has been delicious and satisfying. It has been quite some time between my original review and now, and we are so thankful to have a decent Vietnamese place within walking distance! Things I would recommend: *crispy spring rolls- always piping hot, filled with meat, crisp wrapper *grilled chicken satay- simple yet tasty, delicious peanut sauce *beef noodle soup-meat is always not fully cooked so it cooks in broth, broth is rich and flavorful, sufficient portions of "add-ons", noodles are well prepared as well. Despite hesitation for take-out, this dish proved to be just as tasty as in the restaurant. I loved that they packaged the tables sauces in packets so we could mix it to our liking despite eating at home and not there. *chicken pho-same thoughts as the beef.....plentiful amounts of chicken; the small is my order and leaves me full. Broth flavorful and made more so by the accompaniments. *yellow noodle soup with shrimp and bbq pork- again, most of the same thoughts as above. Shrimp well prepared and plentiful. pork was juicy and flavorful. Broth slightly more complex than the pho broth. *chicken in hot chili and lemongrass- lots of broccoli cooked perfectly. Seemingly healthy option. The heat was spot on-not overwhelming but present. Chicken was tender and plentiful. I'm sure there are plenty of other great dishes, but these are the ones I continuously order. Service for dine-in and take out has always been wonderful. Their pho is very good as is their vermicelli bowl (note, if you want it vegan you need to tell them to avoid the fish sauce). If not, there is ample parking in the lot near Harris Teeter. Be sure to start with the Crispy Saigon Calamari. It is hot, salty, and served with a sweet dipping sauce for a perfect balance of flavors. For my main dish, I got the lemongrass chicken sauteed with onion and scallion. The lemongrass really balance the spice of the peppers and the peanut sauce. I would definitely get it again. I have been to Saigon-Saigon many times. I plan to go back many more times. read more

Dropped in for dinner while visiting the area on business. Searched Yelp and found several new eateries nearby including this one so I decided to give it a try. My family is Vietnamese so I'm a bit picky about Vietnamese food. While it wasn't necessarily as authentic as I'm accustomed to, the flavors were good. I ordered a vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and spring roll. I requested the pork be cooked a bit longer as I like just a bit of char on the meat. The pork was tender and perfectly grilled for my taste. While the spring roll was small and not made with the traditional rice paper wrapper, it was crispy and the shrimp and pork filling was good and tasty. A good amount of fresh cucumber, carrots, bean sprouts and cilantro provided a nice contrast to the fried and grilled components, and all together the bowl was nicely balanced. The fish sauce was well seasoned with bits of garlic and topped off the dish nicely. I was able to walk in, be seated and served a nice meal in a fairly short time. While tables weren't necessarily spaced apart, it wasn't crowded and staff all wore masks. I look forward to trying other menu options when I return to the area. read more
