Causa - whipped potatoes and chicken salad on top
    Flo S.

I decided to meet up with some friends on a rainy night for happy hour at Inca Social. I've been here before when the weather was nicer and the windows were open, but this time it was raining and a little chilly, so it was actually nice to enjoy the cozy indoor atmosphere. One of the things I really love about this place is their happy hour specials. By the time I arrived, my friend had already ordered a few appetizers, so I immediately got to try some dishes. We had the chicken tacos and the chicken chicharrón, which were both really flavorful. I ended up ordering another round of the chicken chicharrón for myself, but this time I asked for a side of rice to go with it. That turned out to be a great decision and I'd definitely order it that way again. I also tried the pork bao buns, which I hadn't seen on the menu before. They were delicious -- the pork belly was crispy and full of flavor. My friend also ordered the causa, which is whipped potatoes topped with chicken salad. I always enjoy this dish because it's light but still filling.

It was a beautiful day to sit outside. So, we got seating on the patio. Our server Diana made us feel welcome with her warm smile and had great knowledge of the menu. She quickly got us started off with drinks and Miraflores rolls with the passion fruit sauce for an appetizer. Just the right thing to get our appetites in gear . Our main order of Anticuchos (beef heart), which are grilled Peruvian street, style skewers with roasted potatoes and choclo perfectly paired w/Inca and chimichurri sauce. We also had Amazonic fried rice. The abundant blend of egg, chicken, pork and sweet platano was an excellent combination to satisfy our tastebuds and appetites . Great job Diana and Inca Social. . .we'll be back!!!

I've recently started exploring Peruvian food, so I can't give you my 100% like this is the best one. But I can't say with 100% certainty that this is up there with some of the best! From good flavor to fun presentation, I would say it's really good. The waitress that we had was also very nice and very informative. And gave some great suggestions on what to try for first timers at the restaurant.

Decided to have lunch before heading to the airport and I'm glad I decided to stop by Inca Social. I was really looking for a vibrant atmosphere with some traditional Peruvian and this was an awesome pick. I'll start by saying that the bartender assisting me was very friendly and gave his opinions on what to get. I decided to get chicha rum (one of the restaurant classics), this was something slightly fruity but with a nice warm balance of warm spice from the ChiCha...the combination was perfect. Next, the Inca balls were my absolute favorite-- you can choose between all of them being cheese filled, meat filled, or mix them up (my recommendation), it was fresh, perfect amount of filling, and a nice crunch! Pair it with the sauce they include on the plate to add additional flavor (you won't regret it). And lastly, my main entree was their popular breakfast platter that included rolls, pork, meat tamale, and sweet potato's-- this is not your typical breakfast but definitely flavor packed! The robust flavor of the pork with the pickled onion together was my favorite part! My only complaint is I wish the sweet potato's weren't so soggy...I wish they had a bit of crunch to it, they almost tasted like they were sitting out for a while. Regardless, my entire experience here would be a solid 8/10 and I would come again. I recommend this place for some solid Peruvian dishes.

We visited the Arlington location, Excelent food , we order empanadas , Lomo salteado ,and churros and was amazing , all service was friendly and professional in particular from victoria was outstanding , she checked my food allergy whit the kitchen and was all the time aware for us !! The drinks were delicious, we had beers and pisco and they were all wonderful. Nice to come whit family or whit friends !!! The decorations inside were spot on for futbol. We will back , thanks you victoria

I love eating here, always a great experience and the food is 10/10 to ME. I love how flavorful everything else, always great service and the restaurant is colorful and clean inside. There's an area where you can take pics on a swing and a llama I enjoy my visit every single time. I go on Wednesday because they have " SALTADO WEDNESDAYS & HALF OFF BOTTLES OF WINE" but everyday is a special they run and you can pick whatever day fits your interests. in the picture we tried the Machu Picchu roll , lomo a la huancaina, Inca balls and tallarin saltado!

The jalea was pretty tasty with a crunchy, flaky batter and spicy mayo dipping sauce. Had various types of seafood from fish to calamari to mussels. The Pescado a lo macho was my 2nd favorite, it had a nice savory creamy sauce that paired well with the white rice and seafood. Sadly the texture of the fish was a bit too soft as the description said it was pan seared and the octopus was super chewy. I liked the sear on the skewers, and could tell they grilled them. The shrimp was my favorite, then the beef heart which tasted like steak, then the chicken. The ceviche was too tart for my taste but I think that's just how the dish is generally. Modern decor, bustling restaurant, decent service (although a bit slow).

Such a great happy hour spot! Great ambiance inside and ample outdoor seating. We came around 530 on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered the tacos happy hour special and the arroz con pollo, both were excellent! Such a large portion as well, I ate the leftover rice for days! Decent happy hour prices, good service. We will be back!

Instagram restaurant with great food. I had the lomo saltado which was well prepared. The steak was tender and well seasoned. The fries were on the side which was perfect. Ambiance was giving fun! I especially loved the lamas on the wall and the swing. I went during lunch but I would love to see what this place is like on a weekend evening. I'm sure that bar serves up some lovely cocktails. Can't wait to return. Service was impeccable. Great staff! Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Great place for happy hour with amazing prices. Highly recommend the chicha rum if you do go for happy hour. The food is also delicious but a bit pricey. The staff can be a slow during happy hour times since they get pretty busy. There's also a lot of well decorated places for photo ops. It's definitely really loud inside though so I don't recommend it if you're trying to catch up with a soft spoken friend and want to hear them talk.

    Happy Hour: Sliders and tacos!

Happy Hour: Thursdays are Ladies Night! $3 Margaritas Food: love the food here! I had the pork tacos and the chicken sliders. Both weee delicious. Service: attentive servers Atmosphere: LIVELY!!! So keep that in mind that you may need to speak up during the rush dinner time. Ambiance: there are 2 swings with a beautiful backdrop for your IG photos. Super cute. Tip: The Arlington location is bigger than the Vienna one. Keep that in mind if you have a large crowd. Both have fantastic staff!!!

This restaurant was mediocre. The vibe was great for a chill dinner with friends or family. There's food was just okay. There wasn't anything special about it. The food definitely wasn't authentic. The ceviche was fresh, the empanadas were the most popular, but the pesto pasta wasn't good at all. The pasta was too saucy. All of the food came out cold. They do have a lot of variety of options on the menu. The service was great. The waiter always checked on our table and was very friendly.

Placed an order to go on a Sunday night with a 30 minute estimate for pick-up. TL;DR: (+) would recommend empanadas, (-) temperature is inconsistent, and (-) had a bad entree This was my first time trying Inca! Inca is a large restaurant with ample seating indoors and outdoors. I ordered take out so I can't speak about the service, but I can say my entree was luke warm when I arrived to pick it up exactly at the recommended time. Pros: The beef empanada was delicious, warm, large, and perfectly made. They provide ample sauces for those who need extra. The churros were amazing - not too dry and not at all stale. And the chocolate sauce? Sublime. Also, the lomo was perfectly medium rare. Cons: The chicken empanada was fairly bland (so perhaps it's a safe bet for those who are less adventurous). The entree was luke warm, which was incredibly disappointing. To add on, the dish was overall lackluster and drowning in an oil. The meat had a smell that was very off putting - I'm not sure if it was the dish the meat was cooked in or the oil itself, but the flavor and the stench was awful. It was a real shame because the meat was a gorgeous cut and cooked perfectly. All in all, I'm hoping it was just one bad dish/experience and I plan to visit again soon, ideally for happy hour.

I had a small bag and it was allowed into the venue after a quick bag check. I bought a last minute ticket at the door and they stamped my hand for entry. The main stage is on the upper level. I took the stairs (not sure if there's a public elevator) and as I headed up, there were signs stating "no stage diving or crowdsurfing"... this ain't the Fillmore! I didn't really explore the facilities or check out the restrooms, since I beelined to grab a good seat, but the checkered floor certainly gives the venue some character and makes it memorable. While a seated event isn't typical at this venue, the seats were basic folding chairs and tightly packed next to each other (I definitely rubbed shoulders with the people next to me). But overall, this is a great venue to see a show! Pros: - Intimate venue (no screens necessary) - Not overcrowded - Can buy tickets online in advance or at the box office in cash to avoid fees - Metro accessible (walkable from U Street Metro Station) Cons: - Limited box office hours (only open when they have shows) - Show start times aren't posted until a few hours before doors open (not good for planning purposes). The venue is like a really clean dive bar that hosts live music. The staff were all very polite and incredibly welcoming. To be situated at the Wharf, the food and beverages were surprisingly affordable... at least by DC standards. The general admission tickets are for standing only. I paid for premium seating and got, well... an actual seat. Unfortunately, this is where I ran into issues. I really wish that Union Stage would offer more smaller tables (1-2 tops) because I had the unfortunate experience of being forced to involuntarily third-wheel some random couple's date night. As someone who frequently attends concerts alone, I hate communal seating. If I'm paying extra for a seat, I don't want to spend the evening sharing a table with strangers. In this case, the couple who joined me at my table spent much of the show carrying on conversations, using flash photography despite it being prohibited, and generally making themselves unwelcome part of my concert experience. It was distracting, annoying, and made it difficult to fully enjoy the performance. Adding more 1-2 top tables for solo concertgoers or couples would significantly improve the premium seating experience by giving people the option to enjoy the show uninterrupted and with the company they actually chose (and paid!) to spend the evening with. It's also worth noting that there is no wait staff to serve you at the tables. So if you grab a seat at a table, make sure you have something to put on the table to indicate that it is occupied. There are QR codes on the table where you can order and pay, but you still have to go to the floor to pick up your food. I got a half cheese pizza and an Aperol Spritz. The pizza was good by dive bar standards. Nothing special about it, but it hit the spot. The Aperol Spritz was also surprisingly good. The sound system is great. However, we need to talk about the lighting situation. I'm not sure if this is how Union Stage typically operates or if this is something that can be attributed to the artist, but the lighting choices for this concert were overwhelming. I've been to dozens of concerts over the course of my life, but I've never had spotlights that repeatedly point directly into the audience, but that was my experience throughout this entire show. I had to put on my sunglasses in this dark venue to keep myself from being quite literally blinded by the light. The background lights and everything were fine, but repeatedly shining spotlights into the crowd was not a good choice. The most expensive part of this night, by far, was the parking, which is not the fault of the venue. I paid $38 to park for 4 hours, but fortunately it was a very short walk to the venue. There are multiple parking garages as well as an extremely limited amount of street parking near this venue. The garage was the only feasible option that evening since so many people were out for the concert, viewing the World Cup, as well as attending events at other bars and restaurants in the general area. All told, I had a really great time at Union Stage. While I hate traveling into DC and I'm not keen on spending $40 on parking, if there's another artist performing at this venue that I want to see, I would definitely come back.

I went to Pearl Street Warehouse twice: this past Thursday and last night. I mainly went there for two holiday parties. The first time on Thursday night, the people at the door was giving us a hard time refusing to let us in even though I was there to meet up with a friend that was going to take me home. I immediately requested to speak to the manager & he reluctantly let me & my friend in. We went straight to the bar to meet our friend. I asked the bartender for a cup of water. I guess me unwittingly overlooking the pre-made water pitchers annoyed him for working harder than he needed & he pointed at the pre-made water pitchers, not saying a word to me. I told him never mind I'll pour from one of the pitchers. He still decided to make a cup of water anyway despite my small protest. I accepted it. I tasted it & was immediately disgusted. It tasted & smelled like tequila. I am certain he didn't pour tequila in it, but the bar's tap pour must be so dirty or unfiltered from prior servicing, it starts to taste like other things BUT water. I even had my friend to taste & smell it to make sure it wasn't just me, and he agreed. I nicely let the bartender know the water tasted funky. Instead of saying I'm sorry I'll fix that or even just suggesting using the pitchers, he decides to try to make the situation more than what it was by trying to debate/argue with me and was actually accusing me of ACCUSING him that he intentionally tried to pour me something I didn't want to get me "drunk". I was dumbfounded at such an insane & random accusation just because I simply said the water smells & tastes like tequila. Nothing in that statement is accusatory towards him, and I told him I was not accusing him of anything. But I guess he was so upset from my minor complaint that he got the bar manager involved to "prove me wrong." The bar manager didn't seem to want to get involved but did anyway. The bartender decided to taste the water to essentially gaslight me & tell me it didn't smell nor taste bad. The bar manager tried it too & agreed with him. They were 100% wrong and unprofessional. I'm unsure what was the point of going out of the way to prove two customers wrong instead of simply letting it go, but I can assure you me & my friends will never return nor recommend this place. Based on other reviews I've read on here, I see that I am not the only one who has had bad encounters from rude staff and management and seems to have been an issue for YEARS. This might have been one of the rudest & nastiest encounters I've ever had at any establishment in my life. Trying to cause a scene with a customer over dirty water is a very bad look. I would highly suggest the staff, especially that specific bartender, to seek professional help & professional development in customer service. Beyond that very rude and insulting encounter, the ambiance was that of a dirty frat bar, area around the bar is very unclean & the floor is soaked in spilled drinks, so if you go there on a busy night (if they have those), be careful. The live performance on Friday was meh, but I think that was a band the folks hosting the holiday party chose. I also saw in other reviews that the talent they tend to pick are mediocre at best. I can see that being true I do believe Pearl Street Warehouse saving grace is its location (the Wharf). If this establishment existed anywhere else in DC, I am doubtful they'd still be in business solely from their rudeness/unprofessionalism. Hopefully, they will improve on custom service.
