Your choice of spinach/cheese, beef or chicken. We stuck with water to drink. The chicken was delicious, we have our favorite in Alexandria, but this chicken was very good. The sides were good, fries, yucca and rice. The sauces complemented everything (green & white). We asked for ketchup, they did provide some packets (perfer an actuall ketchup bottle when dining in). The calamari stood out, probably the best thing we ordered. The Peruvian chicken was solid, and the alfajores were a highlight. But the shrimp saltado was forgettable, and the chicha morada was a letdown -- mostly ice, barely any flavor. It tasted like purple-tinted water, not the real thing. I bought two empanadas to bring home to my mother and asked specifically for two chicken. The employee at the register was friendly, but kept nudging me toward one beef, one chicken. I said no. I explained my mother doesn't eat beef. She bit into one at home and stopped. It was beef. There was no way to know from the outside. I understand that mistakes can happen, but it was disappointing to receive the wrong empanada after I had specifically explained that my mother does not eat beef. What made the situation even more concerning was that the beef did not seem fresh. In addition, while the empanada looked properly baked and golden on the outside, the dough inside was still undercooked. My fault and their fault. I thought it would be a nice time to hit HH and see their Alpaca. Even got there early. Everyone was saving what little table space there was for other people. A jacket over here, a purse over there and the person they belonged to sitting in another spot. Unknowing how small the place was and nowhere to even stand and eat. I called it a loss. I will say that their menu looked very nice but it does me no good to like it if there is nowhere to enjoy it. I hopped to the restaurant next door who had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It can take awhile to receive my order at times, but it's a small price to pay for a quality meal. Stopped in for a drink because it was across from where I was staying. It is a cute little place where it seems to be a fast food meets sit down hybrid (have to wait to be seated). You can go right up to the bar and order though. It was a later evening and quiet which good with me! They have really cute wall decors and ceiling to floor of live plants which were getting pruned while we were there. We sat at the bar and had a quick drink. He got the espresso martini (they were out of the vanilla which is fine, we love a good classic espresso martini). I got the blueberry lavender margarita. I don't usually do margaritas but it was so good. Sweet and tangy, and super pretty, finished with a fried lime and lavender sprig! File this one under "never as good as you remember". We used to visit Peruvian Bros pretty often when we lived in Pentagon City. We really enjoyed it, felt it was healthy and tasty. After G visiting today, I'm not rushing to return. First, we couldn't order at the kiosk, and were seated to order from wait staff. (Should have realized at that point that significant changes were underfoot.) We ordered and were asked if we wanted white rice or primavera rice. We ordered white rice and got primavera. The steak bowl was also a disappointment. The portions are significantly smaller. (To pay waitstaff maybe...?) Also - the quality of the meal was also lacking. The steak was tough, but also nearly raw - not the tender nuggets from before. All in all, not likely to be back when there are so many other options in the area. You go to the register to order and go find a seat. They will bring you your food. After you're done, you just leave your plate and etc and they will clean it up. I came here on a whim and they did not disappoint. My wait time for my food was about 30 minutes, I think that's because it was getting busy around the time that I ordered, but also I ordered a dessert that was made ready to order. My dinner consisted of a sandwich called the triple. It is sandwich with three slices of bread, avocado, tomato, eggs and light mayo. It was perfection, I am healed the first half and made sure to slow down to eat the second half of my sandwich. I tried out multiple sauces. They have a sweet smoky one, which was my favorite, next the aïoli would be my second favorite, and lastly, the cilantro. For dessert I ordered picarones which is the most heavenly donut I've ever tasted. You can taste the pumpkin, it comes with a syrup you can dip it in that has cinnamon and star anise (I'm not a fan of star niece as a flavor, but however, they do it, it made me love the syrup ) it is chewy. It is a little bit crisp on the outside. It is heaven, and I recommend eating it while it's hot.I received four of those. Will I go back, absolutely, absolutely hands-down I will go to this restaurant again before I leave lastly, I ordered an alfajor cookie. You order up front and then sit wherever you want and they bring you the food. I got Passion Fruit juice also, which was very good. The entree was good, the rice and fries soaked up the beef jus which makes them much more flavorful. The menu claims this is beef tenderloin, but it didn't seem as tender as I was expecting. Peruvian Brothers is not a hotel-only restaurant. They are a fastish-food place, a bit of a chain, a bit modern, so I'm not convinced they're fully authentic. But I enjoyed the meal experience overall. We went up to order and there is a digital kiosk. As my friend was entering his order, one of the employees said I could place my order directly with him. Perfect! All set with my chicken saltado, asked about the option for noodles but that would have replaced the potatoes and rice and I didn't want to do that. Before my dinner came out, another guy came over to me to explain they were out of white rice. Is yellow rice okay? Pro tip: Ask for yellow rice instead of rice. It's excellent, with veggies mixed in. Phenomenal with the spicy sauce, or if you're not a spice hound, the green sauce. Upon going back up to the counter to pick up my food (called by name if you order in the kiosk, buzzed if you order in person: Meat was good. Maybe a little light on chicken, but a satisfying meal overall. You see my friend got gigantic empanadas, but you pay more than other places for that bigger size. As for the taste, I'm not sure. The crust is good, not perfect, but the little bits of meat I tried seemed a bit sweet and light on fragrant herbs and spices. I didn't have a full empanada myself so I can't confirm, but the beef seemed better than the chicken and he agreed. The ceviche looked really good, comes with corn kernels of both huge and crisp varieties (that and a bit of the sauce is all I tried). So it goes back to - how Peruvian is this? How much do you want a sit-down meal vs. a counter order? Do you want a dark ambiance or a bright modern one? For now, and with my friend's repeated enjoyment, I will award a solid 4 stars and see if that changes should we return. read more

The filet mignon was super tender and juicy, and adding the egg and sweet plantains really took it to the next level. Loved the mix of savory and sweet. The fries weren't too salty this time, though they can be hit or miss. Still, they soak up all the sauce and make the dish very satisfying. Fast service, great flavor, and super convenient if you're nearby. You need to ask for water but they give it to you. Checked out this spot from la cosecha. I don't know if i was hungry but everything was so so so good, except the chicken empanadas. Chicken empanadas was a bit dry so utilized the sauce that they gave you. The chicken was JUICYYYY and delicious, soft and moist. Can't get better chicken! The plantains was crispy and sweet and the yucca was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I would 100% come here again. Parking is hard to find but once you find it , go to la cosecha and walk straight in and you'll see the llamas in the back! Every time i come i get the same level of service and i have been trying different menu items and this time around i got the filet mignon saltados. I got mine served with rice and for a slight up charge you can have it served with a runny sunny side up egg and fried plantains. You have the option to also get it with noodles if you prefer. When i tell you this dish packs and incredible flavor punch, and the juices from the steak and how will it mixes with the rices and the stir fried vegetables is something you have to try for your self! There's one other spot I think that makes better Chicharron, but this suffices. I also ordered a Chicken Empanada ($6.50). These I highly recommend because they're baked, not fried. I am highly impressed with how these taste and would favor this over any empanadas that are fried. Not a clue what the sauce they provided on both of my order, but it's fire. This food is bomb idc idc idc. My boyfriend and I both got the Chicken Saltado after I begged to try this place after seeing it on my walks. The restaurant decor isn't anything to write home about--pretty standard for the neighborhood. The menu is simple, the price is reasonable, and I love that I got a crazy number of sauces to try (without knowing the names of any of them). There's an aioli/mayo that went really well with the potatos, and honestly the whole bowl is carb heaven. It's a touch spicy but mostly flavorful. My only critique is that we waited quite a while for the food but since it came hot and tasty I let it slide. read more
