Recently visited the new Amazon HQ location for an opening reception. The space is quaint and clean with a beautiful handpainted mural on the wall. The front facing windows bring so much light into the space and the seating near the windows makes for great people watching. The restaurant is known for its empanadas which are great and I tried the quinoa salad (light and left a little to be desired), chicharron sandwich (good), ceviche (light and flavorful), fried plantains (good!) and the yummy pico sour. I would definitely visit for lunch while enjoying National Landing area and can provide a more comprehensive menu review on my next visit! You can order for pickup or eat inside.

    Prove of my purchase!!!

very dissapounted of peruvian chicken!!!! please make sure before you buy. definitely nando's is the best, since their flavor is not a peruvian taste!!! a lot of cumin and "aji especial" ceviche taste like socking onion on fake lemon juice!!!! better go to pisco and nazca o somewhere. very sad the brand name doesn't taste as peruvian at all!!!! the sauce is full of mayo as well thats not oeruvian sauce atemoanathe emempanada the pastry is the only thing good and yuka. sluslushie pisco sour bad chicha morada full of water and sugar nothing taste as chchicha

Quick stop to try out this empanada spot. Will they be better than Julia's empanadas? Stay tuned for my review.

Ok so I really do hate to compare empanda to emoanada but...I'm gonna do it anyway. And I'm gonna use my all time favorite DC empanada spot, Julia's Empanadas as my litmus test. This way, you know why my review sounds the way it probably will. Idk vuz I haven't written it yet. Here it goes... It's alright. Yeah...the bread is tasty and has that flaky buttery texture. But I tried the 2 for $10 deal and got the beef and chicken empanada with a Truly blueberry & acai hard cider. (The 12 mile bike ride home will be fun) I really had high hopes since the previous reviews gave it 4 stars and there were other people sitting outside to enjoy the good and amazing 84 degree weather. But...the chicken was dry. There. I said it. If it wasn't for the lime and the sauce...I might have choked on it. The beef made up for the chicken because it wasn't as dry and had a nice flavor. They were pretty much all meat and seasoning. Very little to no veggies. So, if you're a ravaging carnivore empanada eater then enjoy! Get a drink cuz it's dry like most chicken can be when over cooked. These are pre-made and sitting in a glass surround heater. So.. they'll most likely be dry any time of the day. I had mine for dinner at 530p. I'm glad I tried it cuz I needed a little fuel to get me home. But...might just have to try their other menu items like the cevice. Oh...and the mosquitoes are a problem. Please Arlington...do something about the mosquitoes. Ever heard of West Nile? Signing off.

The best Peruvian food around! My favorite is the empanadas--they're amazing! Plenty of great options for vegetarians too!

Ceviche was so fresh! Lomo Saltado tasted like it was made in Lima. Empanadas were also so delicious.

Very nice concept! Fusion Vietnamese food, pick up or if the weather is nice you can eat outside…read moreeither at the few seats they place at their outside counter or at the "Water Park". If you work in the area this could be your favorite lunch spot! I only wanted to try their unique items so this time I tried the Oxtail Banh Mi Cheesesteak and next time I want to try the Brisket BanhMi Cheesesteak! Also my eyes are on the Supreme Pho which has a lot of meat in it! It's pricey for a sandwich but also I've enjoyed it to the max and I have no regrets. I'm also not aware at all with the Oxtail price, however I know that while it could look cheap, it doesn't give you a lot of near per piece! The sandwich also comes with a little cup of Pho to dip in or sip on! I won't deduct stars but they need to have Pho spoons!! They gave me a regular one and they need to construct the sandwich better so it doesn't become very soggy and messy ! Again! I've enjoyed it to the max! It needs to be more solid/crispy and then we use the pho at our convenience to dip in and get it softer by the bite! I hope the management can think about that! It was a flavor bomb and an amazing fusion fusion Try it, vote for the review , message me, or compliment me with any comment or question, and don't forget to ... I just really wish I got a receipt. The ability to have the receipt sent to my phone was sent away very quickly as I was inputting my phone number which made me uncomfortable. I asked for a receipt, and the gentleman said he'd put it in the bag. Receipt was never put in bag. I feel like I may have been taken advantage of with an up-charge because the numbers don't quite work out (if I recall, the Bo-Khirria tacos were like 17-something, Bo-Khirria fries like 13-something but I paid 44) but I guess we'll never know.

The visit was unique, the story is unique and the food is unique! Let's do this! Established in 1950 or 1954 (reports vary but the sign on the building says 1954), Weenie Beenie was a modest hot dog stand serving hot dogs and beans. It was started by two brothers, Carl and Bill Staton. Bill happened to be an incredible and ultimately famous traveling pool player who went by the name... you guessed it... Weenie Beenie! He won 27k in Arkansas (which is a LOT of money in the 1950's) and used the money to finance the hot dog stand's growth! He appeared on television, played hustlers across the country, and backed other hustlers while living the pool and entrepreneur life. During the 50's, a period of entrenched segregation in Virginia, Weenie Beenie distinguished itself by hiring black employees on the same terms as whites when most white‑owned businesses would not hire blacks at all. This made Weenie Beenie a rare example of early workplace integration in Arlington and a meaningful employer within the historically Black Green Valley community. Its reputation for fairness became a very important part of its legacy, remembered along with the food and its very colorful founder. We popped over and found a 70+ year old walk-up stand with a colorful, diverse and engaging set of customers and friendly service. In faded letters on the front wall to the left are the 10 commandments! No breaking any divine rules at Weenie Beenie's! We all chatted and I learned the one guy comes every day! The old man in the suit was very polite and reserved. The younger Latin and black clientele were fun and engaging and we joked around quite a bit. Another older man was as 38-year veteran of the armed service! Thank you sir! I heard some stories... Of course, we ordered half-smokes! They are well-seasoned half-pork, half beef, smoked sausages that are truly incredible. Weenie Beenie's are unique and delicious! Life is good with a historic, unique, fun and respectful half smoke.

The menu is not your typical hot dog stand as you can get burgers, cheesesteaks, and a variety of sides and other items. Depending on when you stop by, there could be a line and the food is made fresh, so the wait might be longer than expected. However, the food is really good. We ordered two burgers -- the classic smash burger (lettuce, tomato, mayo, and cheese) and the BBQ bacon burger (grilled onions, bacon, and BBQ sauce) -- along with their famous cheesesteak combo. The cheesesteak came loaded with lettuce, jalapeños, tomato, and steak infused with peppers and onions, topped with Marky's-style cheese, plus seasoned fries and a soda. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I can't recommend this place enough -- especially knowing they're part of our local community. I've walked past this gem so many times without realizing what I was missing! It's tucked away in the Home Depot parking lot on Little River Turnpike, so don't sleep on it. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the entire menu.
