We came here on a Wednesday evening to celebrate a birthday with a group of about 10 people. The restaurant offers three all-you-can-eat menu tiers, and we chose the Gold option ($49), which includes a pretty wide variety of items like yakitori, sushi rolls, nigiri, and appetizers. Overall, we were really happy with the selection and felt like it was a great value. We started with several appetizers including karaage, takoyaki, corn fritter pancake, miso soup, vegetable tempura, and crab buffalo. Everything came out quickly and was great for sharing. We also ordered a bunch of yakitori like shrimp, chicken wing, chicken thigh, and mushroom. By the time we got to the sushi, we were already getting full from the appetizers. Lesson learned for next time: start with the sushi and fill in with appetizers later so you can really enjoy the fish. Some of my favorites were the chutoro, salmon nigiri, and rolls like the Mango Tango and Blazing Tuna. The kamameshi (pork rice dish) was also really good and comforting. I also tried the shrimp katsu sando, which had been highly recommended in other reviews, and it definitely lwas a great choice. Next time I'd love to try the Diamond tier, which includes wagyu. I'll probably need to plan ahead and not eat all day so I can fully enjoy it without getting full too quickly. Overall, this is a great spot for a birthday celebration or group dinner, and going on a weekday was perfect. I imagine weekends can get pretty packed.

Little pricey but so worth the all you can eat! We did the gold tier, and YALL the nigiri and rolls were the best quality all you can eat you'll ever eat, super soft and tender fish. The nabe was the highlight for me. It's perfect for two people to share. The gyoza was also great quality and highly recommend getting multiple yakitori. We came here to try each category to know what to eat more next time.

This place was overall the BEST restaurant we have found during our food ventures around washington, d.c. area! We were looking for a place to celebrate an early birthday dinner for my husband and found this absolute gem online. It is truly an experience that I will always talk about and remember! All of us can't stop raving about how amazing this place was! The quality of the food is outstanding and the ambiance is classy yet sexy! The cocktails were creative but loved how they also offered mocktails for people who aren't into alcoholic beverages. The location was perfect as there's a bunch of bars to go to afterwards. Dinner ayce was $45 pp and it was worth every single cent. Every single dish we got was so flavorful and addicting, when I tell you I was stuffed and still forced myself to finish my food because it was so tasty says a lot! The portion sizes were perfect as it was izakaya style, and let me tell you, I LOVE izakaya style food in Japan and this tasted the same (in my opinion) all 3 of us have been to Japan a couple times and were truly blown away by the quality of these food. We love how they even had bar options available and you were also able to see the sushi chefs make your food! The service was super quick and prompt, everyone was so nice and food came out so fast too. There was a big variety of different menu items, so you can guarantee your friends and family will find something that suites their taste buds. This place has sushi rolls, nigiri, hot pots, yakitori (skewers), takoyaki, creamy clams, katsu don, udon, ramen, fried rice, katsu sando, salads, kamameshi (cast iron rice), fried foods (corn fritters/tempuras/korokke/karaage) and this lists goes on! Every single thing we got was outstanding, there isn't a single thing that we ordered that we didn't enjoy! The star of the show: Creamy clams: This was all 3 of our favorite! We used the Tom-yum sauce to dip the corn fritter in it and it was literally life-changing. The flavors combined were truly eye-rolling and elite! The clams were juicy and perfectly cooked but the flavors were truly one of a kind. This is a MUST order, we are still thinking about this dish til this day! Takoyaki: I am a huge fan of takoyaki, ive eaten them all around Japan and consider myself a critic for them. This place makes their takoyaki with the plumpest and juiciest octopus i've ever had, it had the perfect bite but the actual pieces of Tako made these so memorable. Kamameshi grilled Eel with eggs: This dish is served piping hot on a cast iron, and the eel is cooked to perfection! The eel is so succulent and served with an omelette on the bottom. Yakitori: We ordered Shishito Peppers, Kinoko, Negima, & Butabara and they were perfectly charred, and paired nicely with some togarashi on the side. You can't go wrong with any Yakitori here! Mekyabetsu: Delicious and addicting roasted Brussels sprouts that are served with heaping parmesan cheese! Sounds simple, but is absolutely DIVINE. The presentation is next level fine-dining as well. Drinks: Lychee Yuzu Lemonade, Calpico Cooler, Saru Saru, Night in Nagasaki Chutoro Nigiri and Yellowtail Nigiri: The chutoro had a rich, buttery texture that melted in your mouth, while the yellowtail was clean & delicate. Both were incredibly fresh and delightful. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town! This is hands down the best AYCE experience we've ever had in terms of quality, and we're so glad we discovered it on Yelp. Coming from Las Vegas, where AYCE spots are everywhere, it's rare to find a place that truly prioritizes quality. This restaurant is a true gem, every single dish was exceptional and completely exceeded our expectations!

Good date night spot with cute decors right in the heart of Clarendon. We did the Gold $49 and it was definitely worth it with how many nigiris I ordered, which was a lot lol. Service was friendly and attentive. I'd recommend making a reservation ahead before you go, especially on the weekend.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with three people and found there were only a few taken tables with a mostly empty restaurant. The restaurant has nice Japanese decor and dim lighting. The restaurant has sushi bar counters, booths, and tables. They gave us both AYCE and à la carte menus to review, and we picked the gold level (which includes all of silver too). You make your orders on a touch screen. There are some restrictions on the orders though. You can order up to 20 items at a time (total quantity) and can only place an order every 10 minutes. And you can be there for up to 90 minutes. For nigiri, you can only order up to 2 pieces per type, which is difficult when you have more than two people who like similar foods. The orders came pretty quickly, 10-15 minutes each. However, some would go "out of order" and back on with availability throughout our sitting. The shoyu fries were amazing, as was the nigiri, blazing tuna, pork belly, and tempura. After a few sushi orders, they stopped giving us wasabi and ginger and we did have to ask for more wasabi (as we had none left). They then brought probably a 1/4 cup's worth. The sushi rice wasn't packed very well and was falling apart with the nigiri, but the fish was overall very fresh and tasty. The nigiri doesn't come with wasabi beneath the fish/above the rice (as it typically would), just something to think about as you dine! The service was friendly and quick for any needs or questions. I'd recommend this place as it's a good deal for quality items!

AYCE is definitely worth it. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday with a few friends and had an amazing time. The yakitori was delicious--standouts were the pork belly, beef outside skirt, and mushroom. My favorite nigiri were the chutoro, sweet shrimp, shrimp, and yellowtail. For small bites, the agedashi tofu, seaweed salad, and shrimp tempura were all excellent. Everything came out fresh and flavorful. Service was fast and friendly! Nice and elevated vibes. Would absolutely recommend!

My girlfriend and I came here on Valentine's Day and they told us that the restaurant was fully booked, however it ended up being no wait time. We were seated by the high chair sushi bar area and notified that the menu has been updated since I was last here. The prices have increased so the best option is the Diamond option, as the lower tier option only has a limited selection. We were able to order everything from an iPad which was convenient. The Diamond tier excludes desserts, so you would have to pay extra for those options. The quality of the food is good and the service is quick. The ambiance inside looks fancy and has a Japanese interior. Good experience!

What a pleasure to dining in this izakaya restaurant! I will totally recommend to be seat by the sushi bar. My wife and I went there for AYCE in the weekend for dinner. We ordered sushi rolls, nigiri, eel rice dish, appetizers and yakitori. We were first being satisfied by the appetizers which is a great start. Then the Eel Kamameshi arrived. The Eel is well marinated with just right amount of rice, it will not take up all my stomach but enough to balance the Eel fat. Finally, all items from the sushi bar are amazing. Have to mention, the Wagyu Uni and Salmon were so good. The benefit to sit by the sushi bar is you get to enjoy watching the chefs making these art pieces in front of you. We will be there again. Next time we will try the items from the ordinary menu. Honestly, if they will do omakase, I would love to try it out. I wish they will.

Sakaki Izakaya is my go-to sushi spot in town. The vibe inside feels very upscale, but casual at the same time. The wait staff is always very knowledge and attentive with the ingredients, specifically Daniel! We have had the pleasure of him being our server a few times now and he always makes the experience enjoyable. We have a friend with celiac disease and he is very accommodating and ensures all items are gluten free. The blazing tuna is our favorite roll, but so many are a close second. The miso soup is always great to start with. We always do the all you can eat menu, and it's definitely worth it!

I came here for the lunch ($29) AYCE. Overall, I thought the experience was good. The service was great and the ease of ordering made the experience enjoyable. The waiter was always around to take away the empty plates and to refill the water. The BBQ items were delicious. The porky belly, chicken thigh, and chicken with leeks were super tasty. The nigiri sushi were also pretty good. I tried close to everything in the nigiri selection. The salmon, tuna, eel, mackerel, shrimp, and yellowtail were fresh and delectable. Now I do have a minor gripe. I know it's AYCE and that the rice is used to fill up the customers and to save cost. But the rice under the nigiri pieces were, understandably, wider and denser than you'd expect. The pieces of fish on top of the rice are just slightly thinner than usual and slightly (almost) not covering the rice. But overall, $29 pre tax, $38 post tax and tip is reasonable for a quality sushi lunch AYCE.

I can't recall what the name of my tuna roll was, but I did not really like the spicy green seasoning that was on top. The eel rice bowl was delicious and so was the Nigiri! Service was good although a little slow on the day we went in and the ambience is clean and roomy. This was my second time here, and they are becoming one of my favorite sushi restaurants just based on the fact that their dishes come out hot and delicious. Hot food should be expected with fresh served food but every so often I go to a sushi restaurant that takes so long to bring things out they lose the temperature from the stove to customer. Sakaki consistently delivers on this!

TLDR: Best all you can eat sushi deal in Arlington. Amazing quality fish, huge variety, and unbeatable value at $45. Perfect spot for big groups. If you're looking for the ultimate sushi feast, Sakaki Izakaya is it. Their all you can eat menu is hands down the best deal in town at just $45 per person. I went on a Friday night for a birthday party with a group of 16, and we had an amazing time. Despite our large headcount, the staff handled everything amazingly. Friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. We went all in and literally tried everything on the menu. To start we ordered all 15 apps X 3, followed by massive trays of 90 pieces of mixed nigiri to start, and then made our way through all the rice and noodle dishes. The quality of the fish was exceptional, especially for an all you can eat spot. Standouts were the yellowtail, chutoro, and otoro nigiri, plus the negi toro maki. The appetizers also impressed. Favorites included the karaage fried chicken, creamy clams, and shrimp katsu sando. Yakitori was a fun addition, as we ordered multiple rounds of all nine skewers, with the scallops and shrimp stealing the show. If I had to nitpick, a couple of the rice and noodle dishes were under seasoned, like the katsu don. But honestly, with 200+ pieces of sushi and 40+ other dishes demolished by our table, that minor detail didn't take away from the experience. Overall, Sakaki is a sushi lover's paradise. The food, value, and vibe make it a must visit for anyone in Arlington looking for a top tier endless sushi adventure.

Sakaki Izakaya in Arlington, VA, offers the best value and quality All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Japanese food at $49 per person (Gold Tier), including sushi, signature rolls, small bites, nigiri, and a varied menu featuring yakitori, hot pot (nabe), cast iron rice dishes with seafood, eel, and pork Kamameshi. The Diamond Tier includes all Silver and Gold Tier options plus premium choices, all served in a trendy setting with Japanese decor, a central bar, and good service. We enjoyed our lunch here, and the food was excellent--arguably the best AYCE Japanese restaurant in Northern Virginia. - Their signature rolls, like Mango Tango and Sea King, were freshly made and delicious. - Both eel and pork Kamameshi featured high-quality ingredients, generous portions of meat and fish, and rice kept warm over a warmer. - Yakitori offered a variety of excellent options. - The Shrimp Katsu Sando is a must-try standout--crispy perfection paired with juicy shrimp, making it a top-tier fried shrimp sandwich that elevates typical pub fare. - Their desserts were also excellent--rich, creamy, sweet, and a perfect ending to a fantastic Japanese meal. The homemade matcha ice cream, Biscoff cheesecake, and matcha tiramisu all stood out. Note: These desserts are not included in the all-you-can-eat menu.

Lots of standing room, limited seating, but the patrons are young, beautiful, and mostly college students from nearby schools. Not my crowd, but met one of my friends here after work in Arlington around 6:30 since the weather was perfect yesterday. We decided to go to my favorite restaurant for a more elevated experience and live music. One day, I'll come back to watch people ride the bull downstairs, which I imagine that to be hilarious and entertaining. The bartender told me the place doesn't come alive until about 9pm, so that's when it's crowded and probably off the chain.

I went for the first time back in October and I had a good time. The drinks were competitively price for Arlington proportions but the food AND cocktail menu are just painfully limited. If you're ordering just standard bar drinks like a domestic draft beer or a shot of tequila you're fine, but a grilled cheese sandwich on the menu? Seriously? The biggest attraction of this bar is the mechanical bull. But the caveat is that you need to get a ticket to ride it which costs $5. Not terrible pricing but considering PBR at Power Plant Live in Baltimore has a mechanical bull (and more space but will get to that in a bit) it feels like a slap in the face. But again it's $5 and I'm going to presume that money goes towards maintenance of the mechanical bull ride anyway. Also depending on what day and time you go be prepared to be packed like sardines. There's three rooms one of which is a dedicated dance floor. And the room farthest from the entrance, about 85% of the room is taken up by the mechanical bull. The first time I went there was no room in the mechanical bull room because they blocked off 5% of it for some group party reservation. We went up to the rooftop which was a bit more spacious but naturally if it's cold outside or raining you're obviously not going up there. Overall, BOE has potential but a limited food menu, and even more limited cocktail menu, and small indoor space makes this an easy bar to skip when there's a line out the door.

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

Could not ask for a better parking situation. Ordering was almost seamless. We got there at 1 o'clock, middle of the day on 4/18, plenty of empty tables. We went up to the bartender to take our order, and then gave them our table number and they delivered it. The QR code on the table only shows you the menu. It is not used for ordering, which was odd these days. Chill and super awesome bartender with the mother of all hickeys. Good pours. No Skrewball :-( I had the special, two hot dogs with tater tots. When it said double, I wasn't sure if that meant double the tater tots, but that meant actually two hot dogs. Really good. I also had the other special, the two pancakes. I meant to get the sausage, but they gave me the bacon instead. It was great. Well worth it. I thought that was the better value of the meals. They got a lot of board and card games. Very laid-back atmosphere, 90s and early 2000s pop on the music, comfortable seating, and good food. The prices were reasonable. This is one area that I think we are just going to have to deal with for quite some time. The give-and-take of prices,. Smothered tater tots, pancakes, two hotdogs with some tater tots, and three drinks came out to ~$55. NOT. BAD. Was it worth it? If this had been just a normal restaurant, I would've said no. It would've been more worth it if it had been about $40. But... nobody made us pay to use the board games, or the card games, and we sat there for three hours and had a really good time. So based on that, the fact they provide a venue for playing these games and hanging out for a few hours makes it all worth it. Really strange thing was that there was this balding guy with a beard that randomly showed up as a waiter. We had been dealing with a bartender, so this guy, kind of rude came on to us and we weren't sure what to do with him. He kind of blocked me from paying the bartender. Rude. Not a hangout spot every day, but certainly once a week, maybe once a month or more, definitely a place to meet up if you got a group. I was really surprised by the diversity of the people that were there. A lot of chess players, a whole table of middle-aged women, lots of different people playing games. I would give them five stars, but not quite perfect. The rude guy at the end was so odd. Otherwise, great location, great parking, the food was good, good value, and fun.
