I'm team D.C. through and through and often stay within the D.C. borders to dine, but driving out to Yume Sushi in Arlington near the Falls Church border is worth it. Here's why. 1) Food: The menu can be a little overwhelming due to the range of options, but the servers do an excellent job in helping you navigate it. To feed two hungry adults, we ordered the Garlic Butter Miso Scallops, Sunomono Salad with Tiger Shrimp and a number of sushi- Creamy Scallop Roll, Arekusa Roll, A5 Wagyu Roll, Yume Roll, and the Kamikaze Roll. For dessert, we had the match crepe cake with black sesame ice cream. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor, but the winners were the Garlic Butter Miso Scallops and the Creamy Scallop Roll. We ordered a second serving of the Garlic Butter Miso Scallops. 2) Drinks: They have all types of drinks from sake to beer to wine to cocktails. I ordered their seasonal cocktail with elderflower liqueur and it was refreshing. 3) Service: Impeccable! The entire experience was smooth. Our server was top notch and very approachable and attentive. 4) Space: There's a mural-decorated inside with counter seats, tables, and a bar. Outside along the sidewalk are several tables. 5) Area: There's easy street parking right there and a local bookstore across the street.

Yume Sushi: Date of Visit: 3.29.2026 Location: Christ Falls Cuisine Type: Japanese Vibe: Chill Cost: $$$ Service: Solid Food/ Rating: -5/5- Everything has uni and i love uni. There is a focus on fattier and more decadent ingredients like truffle and caviar. Overall Thoughts: Best Thing I ate: It has to be the uni pasta since one of my friend who went gave me all of his...insane double uni ughhh ALSO special note is that the michael flower is such a unique addition to this dish the tart and sourness is amazing Something to Improve: Really no words I think ending the meal with ice cream would work better.

My friend and I tried Yume Sushi tonight and opted for the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Every course left us impressed (and very full!). My favorite was definitely the nigiri selection. The scallop was delicate and buttery, the toro melted in your mouth, and the wagyu nigiri was rich and indulgent without being overwhelming. Each piece felt well-balanced and beautifully prepared. Our server also created custom mocktails for us. Mine had yuzu (my favorite), it was refreshing and delightful. For the value, the tasting menu felt very fair for the quality and quantity of food. I would absolutely return, and especially if they rotate or change the menu. A really enjoyable dining experience overall.

Sat at the bar for the first time and had an amazing bar tender / server. I can't remember his name but he had an AMAZING manicure and excellent energy ! We asked for not-sweet cosmo's and he prepared them beautifully, and helped me remember what the gluten free dairy free options were. My mom also prefers cooked items and they have quite a few options. The Japanese sandwich is my go to - and I've never had anything like it elsewhere ! It's always clean and the vibes are high end and fun- great for families / dates / girls night etc!

Service was top-notch thanks to Yurii! He expertly walked us through the menu, including food, drinks, and dessert options, making the experience both informative and welcoming. The food itself was exceptional. I ordered the seared butter miso scallops, sashimi roll, and salmon lovers roll--each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. The true standout of the evening was the seared miso scallops. Perfectly cooked, they melted in my mouth with no toughness or rubbery texture--simply outstanding. Thank you to Yurii and the entire team for an amazing first experience at your beautiful and inviting venue. I look forward to returning.

I went here with my family for a birthday dinner, lured by the reviews and an inKind coupon for $75 off. We had appetizers, several sushi rolls and the eel bowl. It was all tasty and very well presented, with our favorite dish being the eel. Perhaps another reviewer was correct in that you should go for the tasting menu to truly experience the chef's brilliance because, honestly, we weren't really wowed by the food. It was fine. Our server was absolutely charming and attentive - no complaints there. And I'm probably too old for the restaurant's vibe because I found it way too loud. The music was peppy pop and dance (which doesn't bother me), but super loud. We could barely hold a conversation with each other at the table without yelling.

This place has good quality sushi. I have been here about six times and each time, I haven't been let down. Overall, a clutch place for sushi and date night. In the summer, you can sit out on the patio area to eat, but it is super small, so it isn't that nice.

Stopped in for lunch and had a fantastic experience! The drinks were great, the service was excellent, and the sushi was fresh and divine. I ordered the lobster roll and it was so good I didn't even stop to take a picture -- which never happens! The chutoro with uni was a perfect one-bite wonder... rich, buttery, and delicious with absolutely nothing added. Definitely a spot I'll be returning to!

Absolutely loved it! I had the other rolls, but the one that stands out the most was the creamy scallop roll! You only get a couple pieces so order two if you're hungry. I need to go back for that. I got the raw one. The avocado salad with fish added it was absolutely delicious as well ! Yume sushi is beautifully decorated, air and clean . Tables are a little bit close together but the sushi quality is amazing! Our server was really fast and on top of everything! She clearly paid attention to us and was easy to get her attention for anything we needed / wanted! The matcha ice cream was also very smooth creamy and delicious for dessert!

Let me just start by saying how disappointed in myself I am for waiting so long before I tried this spot out, esp considering Im a foodie! I popped in on a last minute solo dinner during RW a couple of weeks ago and I was THOROUGHLY impressed with my entire experience! Everything from the drinks, service, food, and presentation was AWESOME! I was truly blown away and shocked that this place isn't Michelin Star status because it for sure fit the bill for one to me! I told all of my friends and one of them was able to catch them during RW, too, and was just as blown away as I was! My waiter was awesome and well versed with the menu. I ended up trying the Matcha Espresso drink. Whew! That thing was good and STRONG! Loved it. I opted for the baby octopus salad and upgraded one of my courses to be the wagyu roll. I enjoy RW to give me the opportunity to try new spots and partake in dishes that I normally dont eat on a regular. The baby octopus salad was delish and filling! This was my first experience with foie gras and it was so good. It melted in my mouth and the caviar complemented it perfectly! I didnt have a single dish that I was dissatisfied with. Everything was behind my expectations! I grabbed a table next to a window but enjoyed the omakase experience that the owner was giving to some guests at the sushi bar! I hope to be lucky enough to experience that same joy that he exudes while creating his dishes. You could see the happiness in his smile! Parking is street but there are a couple of garages nearby, as well. I want to say that pricing was on par for what you get but, honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised if it was more. I would still pay it! I saw families there with kids but can't speak on the menu options for them. I stuck to RW and sushi. There is outside seating, too! I will definitely be back and sooner than later!

TLDR: An interesting Japanese fusion restaurant that I won't be back to. We celebrated a special occasion here. It's innovative but very overpriced for what you get. The atmosphere is modern and noisy, which is fun though a bit loud. The sushi was very good, and they appear to even smoke their own salmon for one of the items, which was amazing. But the portion to price ratio is very poor here. Their Winner dish is literally one glorified piece of Sushi for $30. It's appetizer size. Almost everything here is infused with truffle oil. If you absolutely love truffles, this is heaven. But it's too much. Leave some dishes to have truffle flavoring without overwhelming all of the meal. They charge high end restaurant prices but have a tv with sports. It's an incongruous match. People were cheering for a sports event. Either make a lower end sports bar or have a fancy restaurant. They're not the same thing. There was only 1 working bathroom for the entire restaurant. Not really ok. The service was decent. Several broken glasses, but that's not necessarily their fault. All in all, if they lower prices, remove the TV, fix the bathroom situation, don't put truffle oil on almost everything, I would be back. Otherwise there are better Japanese options in the area.

Absolutely my favorite sushi restaurant in the DMV. I've been there so many times I've lost count but each time is always a great experience. I would definitely recommend that you make a reservation but also during really busy dinner times, we were usually able to get a seat within 15 minutes. They have street parking (paid) or a parking lot (free) in the back. The fish is so fresh and the presentation is always 10/10. I always get a chirashi bowl and it's such a good price for what you get! It's also so filling! The owner and staff there are always very sweet and overall this is a great place that has been consistently good in the last 2 years that I've been going.

Yume すし: happy hour cocktail $9- excellent

Absolutely love this place, especially their top-notch service and excellent Happy Hour offerings. 1. Reservation: not necessary I personally always made a reservation, however, it has never been full, so I think you will get away with not having any. 2. Food: very good their entire happy hour meal is $5-6 and tastes amazing! - Tuna roll and spicy tuna rolls are very good. - Edamame is done to perfection. - lobster looks kinda scary but delicious - ceviche: disappointing. I did not like this one bit. 3. Drinks: good Happy hour cocktail $9 is delicious. excellent selection of sake and wine and beer. 4. Tea: this deserves its own section! and big cup with excellent green tea and barley! I can never find good places with good tea... they are in the list! 5. Service: amazing! I love our Asian male server and he is knowledgeable, truly nice and inspires you to be a better person just by his demeanor. I love it here. I always ask to be seated at the same spot, cause I know I will have a great respectful service. 6. Parking: easy, right in front is the street parking and usually free Kyojin DC used to be my favorite and when I saw the ceviche here- it looked like theirs and when I looked into it, it had the same owner. Why bother being stuck in DC traffic when you can get the same food and quality without any hassle made by the same chef. Highly recommend this place.

Ask the Community - Yume Sushi

Is the chefs tasting menu ok or better worth to get the omakase? They required a minimum party of 6 for the omakase.

Ww have discontinued the Omakase until we open KYOJIN in Georgetown. The Chef Tasting is available for parties of two or more, reservation required. The Chef Tasting is six courses for $150 per person

Where do you get your tea bags from?

Is this place good for kids? high chair available?

We do have highchairs available. Typically our music is louder on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. If that is an issue, I would keep that in mind for when you book a reservation!

What is the price of omakase?

    $150 pp

Can two people make reservation for omakase?

Yes! It's called the chef's tasting menu. Non traditional Japanese styled dishes curated by Chef Saran.

Is there a kids menu? What can toddlers order/eat?

In my opinion, not as great place for toddlers. Get a babysitter and have a nice night at this very cool spot.

Takumi is Ted Baker: genuinely refined, quietly stylish, and doesn't require a second mortgage to appreciate. The fish is flown in fresh daily. There is no cream cheese within a 50-foot radius of this kitchen. No yum yum sauce. No roll named after a questionable life decision. Just pristine fish doing pristine fish things. The menu is tight -- bento boxes, focused apps, nothing that needs a paragraph of explanation. The fried oysters and squid tentacles are mandatory. Non-negotiable. Do not test me on this. Then the subtle flex begins: yuzu, truffle, shiso placed with quiet confidence, mango puree that sounds wrong and tastes right, an Old Bay finish that would make Maryland weep with pride, and a Kalamata olive that has absolutely zero business being this good on a sushi menu -- and yet. It's kind of a mini cafeteria style/food hall that contains Vivi Bubble Tea and Com Tam Le Truc. My friend and I stopped by for lunch last Sunday after seeing the list of homey Japanese dishes like donburi, chawanmushi, sukiyaki pot (!!!), katsu curry, etc. The service was pretty good and our food came out pretty quickly. CHAWANMUSHI - 4.95 Steamed egg custard + some enoki looking mushrooms (they're like the bigger version) in a 6 oz cup. A bit steep, but how soft and velvety the egg custard was changed my mind. It was like eating a cloud. And the dashi based broth and mushrooms to go along with it was chef's kiss. My friend and I both enjoyed this! I am curious how the other chawanmushi (specifcally ikura) would be. UNA-TAMAGO DON - 21.95 This was given to us in a to-go container (with a plastic top layer for the eel and egg to separate from the rice). The presentation was extremely sloppy and unappetizing. Everything was soggy and messily put together, like it's been left forgotten for a couple hours after cooking. However, my friend and I are not one to not eat food based on the presentations. We dug in anyway, because unagi is delicious. The rice was well garnished with furikake. The unagi was plentiful and very tender. Our only issue was that the sweet and savory sauce was way too strong. Literally way too sweet and overpowering where it was unbearable after a few bites. We managed to finish all our rice and still had a bunch of sauce (mixed with some egg drop and onions). Overall, if the sauce wasn't that sweet, it would have been a delicious una-tamago don. This place has potential for homey Japanese food. I've been on the outlook for non-sushi Japanese entrees and glad to find a casual spot so close to where I live. I'll be back to try other foods here.

There was no one at the front to take our order, and one of the boba shop workers said to order via the kiosk on the boba tea side. We ordered takoyaki, sukiyaki, croquettes (korokke), Pork bowl, and chicken katsu donburi. Everything was veryy sweet. The party agreed that it felt more like a dessert than dinner. The sukiyaki came out about 10 minutes later than everything else, and did overflow onto our table due to overboiling. The experience was good but very self-done.

The energy in the restaurant is lively and fun, making it perfect for groups, date nights, or any celebration. Service was attentive and helpful -- our server guided us through the whole experience like a pro. Great value for the quality and quantity of food you get. If you haven't tried KPOT yet, gather your crew and go. It's not just dinner -- it's an experience.

Even basic items like teas are not included in the price, which is disappointing. It also believe something is being added to the meat to fill you up. I don't know what it is, but whatever it is, it made me feel uncomfortably full after only a small amount of food (4 small wings and 2 thin 1/2 inch slices of meat). That is not a normal or enjoyable AYCE experience. I am not sure where these good reviews are coming from. I have my ideas, and that is that they are giving out rewards for positive reviews. It cannot possibly be because the food is good. I have had similar experiences at the Frederick location as well, so this does not seem like a one-off issue. Overall, it feels like the quality and value are not there. If food has to be altered just to make people feel full and increase profit, then the AYCE model should be reconsidered. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to anymore KPOT locations. There are other Korean BBQ places that don't make me feel sick after eating there.

Folks at a Banh Mi shop recommended Hai Duong. We were not disappointed. The location is on the smaller side, and the entrance is hard(er) to find (it's inside the shopping center). So I'm updating my review because it's well deserved! I have started ordering from Hai Duong through Uber Eats again in the last year and so much improvement! The food arrives fast, hot, and with very generous portions. They are definitely not stingy like I had experienced in the past. I love it when businesses take feedback to be better. In the last year, we usually order the Mi Nam Vang and Mi Bo Kho, and both are consistently excellent. This past weekend, we finally decided to eat at the restaurant in person at Eden Center, and it was just as good as when we order delivery. The guy seating people was very polite and friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Bun Mam and Mi Nam Vang, and both were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and came out super hot, which I love. There are plenty of condiments on the table if needed, but honestly the broth is so flavorful that you do not really need them. They also give a great portion of protein, which I really appreciate. The place was packed and clearly very popular, and I can see why. I will definitely continue to support Hai Duong and hope they get even more business. And I appreciate that they got so much better compared to during COVID times, Great work, Hai Duong!

We said heck yeahhhh, so the decision was made AMBIANCE: Big space, pretty empty as we were one of the last people to eat before they closed! They were very accommodating-- letting us know their kitchen closed at 10:30 PM and the restaurant closed at 11 PM. When we arrived, it was 945, so we weren't looking to play around. We knew what we were gonna get. Onward we went SERVICE: My girl Arieles (PRETTY sure that's what her name was) was our server! She was so sweet and got us our stuff promptly. We knew we were coming in late so we weren't gonna waste time, but she was joyful to serve us regardless and I appreciate that. So many times people are FED UP, and it shows, to be at the end of their shift (and I get it), so it was nice to have someone of good demeanor to host us! FOOD: We ordered brisket, spicy pork belly, spicy chicken, and spicy bulgogi. First time trying the spicy Bulgogi for fear that it was gonna be TOO spicy and it was not at all! To reference -- I thought the kimchi was a bit spicier than the bulgogi! So try it, flavor is amazing! Can't wait to come again. I hadn't gone to KBBQ in a long while!
