Yup! Thank you Roll play for being open late and serving up some good pho. I'm new to VA. This is my first time having pho since being here. So glad it was this place. I don't put hoisin sauce or sriracha because I like to taste the aromatics and flavor what it is. ANAZING! Service was fast, parking sucks. Seating is decent. Cool music and great staff. I got the combination pho and some egg rolls. Proved fair and the great quality meat in my bowl. I'll definitely be coming back. Keep up the good work guys.
I'll start with clarity by saying that I had a pretty solid takeout deal here; I had heard mixed things about RollPlay prior and was unsure of whether to try them, but was in the area and decided why not? Through their promotion, I ordered two bowls of chicken phô, three coconut matcha strawberry sago dessert jars, and a viet coffee, all for $24 after tax. A pretty solid deal, and I'll try not to let it influence my review too much. Starting out with the service; the staff were friendly but there was confusion with the promo redemption; thankfully, the manager explained that I had to order a bowl and the sago jars through Uber Eats before I redeemed the full promo in person. The promo redemption was a bit convoluted, but I'm glad the management was helpful and apologetic. Now the food; like what I heard prior, mixed: Chicken Phô: So-so. I could tell the individual ingredients were better quality than most; the pasture-raised chicken was savory and well-seasoned, the veggies still fresh, and the noodles a pleasant springy texture. The broth, on the other hand, was quite bland. It didn't taste artificial or anything, just somewhat watered down and lacking in richness and spices. They also served the broth on the side for pouring over the other components (for takeaway), which meant that they didn't really have time to steep and infuse the broth. So points for fresher, more organic base ingredients, but overall execution as a dish was a bit lacking; the entire phô was still decent, just not outstanding. Viet Coffee: Strong. Quite strong. As it should be with traditional viet coffee. And yet also sweet and creamy which made it quite balanced, although I still wouldn't recommend drinking it in the later afternoon as I did, unless you loathe the idea of sleep, haha! Coconut Matcha Strawberry Sago: Also pretty solid; not overly sweet, with a delightful mix of textures from the combination of strawberry compote, coconut jelly, and creamy coconut sago. The mild, floral bitterness of the green tea is a good foil for the sweeter parts as well. Will probably have the other jars for breakfast in the coming days. Overall, I see the vision that RollPlay and its sister location PhoPlay (I do love a good innuendo, lol!) are trying to pull off with healthier, less processed ingredients and certainly respect it, but a few important things do fall flat. Especially without the promotion, I can see the pricing being a bit exorbitant for the somewhat-lacking quality. I also get the appeal of them being open 24/7, but that does lead me to believe that they may be incentivized to lean into convenience over quality, especially if a portion of your clientele are drunk Rosslyn hipsters at 2:30am who aren't paying too much attention to flavor. The broth should be more flavorful and lively, and shouldn't be served on the side so that the protein and veggies can infuse better. Also, some consistency on promos would be appreciated; using a different service for the promo and the ordering makes things overly complicated. All-in-all, there's at least still potential here, assuming the management takes my advice.
I recommended this spot to a friend for dinner ! I always get the beef brisket pho - and it's 48 hours. Definitely will come back again for the vibes and the food

He was so kind and helpful when I visited and even though he and his team were moving quickly and efficiently getting orders together, he still went out of his way to make sure I had what I needed. APPRECIATED! This was my first time rolling in (get it?) to pick up an order. In the past, I've ordered online and always been allured by the Uber Eats freebies and offerings. After trying and loving the 100G Protein Bowl at the Falls Church location (which is much smaller, btw), I was excited to perfect my order here. I got the bowl, skipping the bell peppers and onions, adding an egg, and getting double brisket + shrimp. Viet vinaigrette for me ALWAYS. This bowl was $16.66 on Uber Eats (with the extra egg). However, you can also order inside at the kiosks! Verdict? MF BOMB! The fatty brisket is my favorite part. It's flavorful but not overly seasoned and cooked well so that it's moist and tender, complementing everything else. The shrimp is good, too, so you add that to the other flavors and it's heavenly. Vibe inside: very chill - giving fast casual. The team is very much a well-oiled, assembly line type of machine, but they're getting orders out quickly! I also tried the strawberry matcha dessert jars this time around and baybeeeeee. I'm obsessed. They're so good. Can't wait to come back and their hours are amazing!
I love this place. Great: * right next to Rosslyn metro * Modern decoration * Delicious food, Pho broth is great Service is very friendly. My only gripe is it's $19 for a Pho. Pho at Eden center will run about $17 now, so I get it. Pho 75 nearby is $12.50, but I found it oily. I think the product here is better. If this was $15, line would be out the door.
When you experience tragedy, sometimes people offer to buy you dinner. And when you're friend is a famous performance artist, sometimes he does zany stuff. This review is a story about those two worlds colliding. I met my friend outside the Rosslyn location and we both ordered pho (vegan tofu for him, brisket+flank for me) and popcorn chicken. My friend ordered everything on the self serve kiosk and then we sat down at a table. As we sat in the spacious dining area with lots of nice green plants and talked about life one of the staff came from behind the counter with a tray of food and confidently, loudly announced the customer name so he could find the food's owner: "Sorry For Your Loss! Sorry For Your Loss?" Five stars for service because I would not have blamed this kid for being very confused and very shy about an order named "Sorry For Your loss." My friend is unhinged and I had no idea he did that. As I burst out laughing at this insanity, other people in the restaurant looked confused and mortified lol. It had to be extremely weird to witness, but my friend knows me and he knew I would take it well. Oh yeah so on to the food: the pho was delicious and I was pretty happy with it although sadly I don't seem to see many options anymore for rare meat, only well done. The nuggets were crispy and pretty good as well but I have no idea why I ordered that on top of a huge bowl of soup. My friend confirms his vegan pho was awesome as well. I live close to two other pho restaurants but I will definitely "Roll" this place into my rotation. On a night where icey wind bit at my face and grief oppressed my heart, Roll Play's pho was a warm and delicious refuge. I look forward to returning with a lighter heart to try their pho tacos and banh mi!
We needed to refuel after a 3 mile walk and this place was in my Yelp collection. Lucky for us we parked nearby. When you walk in there's another restaurant at the bottom floor so you have to make sure you head upstairs. Everyone was busy working away, hustling. We placed our order on the kiosk, it was easy peasy. We got our food pretty fast, probably within 10 min if not less! Overall, a very delicious and satisfying meal. The only item we did not like was the roll. Aside from that, everything was banging--like oxtail pho?! DELICIOUS! Highly recommend, we plan to make this a repeat visit when we're in the area.
Some of the best pho around! Love the veggie broth base - though I hear good things on the oxtail as well. The rolls are another favorite, especially the shrimp ones. Ordering online and in person are both very easy (and sign up for their rewards to earn $ off on future order). Their service is quick even during the lunch rush. I've only gotten food for takeaway, but they have some seating available. From the moment you open the door, you're presented with the aromas of Vietnamese cooking - comfort and deliciousness.
The best mama fried ever I ordered so many times love it ! I never been to the place but im sure one day I will I ordered take out all the packages they're doing with care. Bag , bag of chopsticks, bowl paper ....... Hope they doing very well
This place doesn't feel like a normal restaurant, but a take-out place with open seats to sit if you know what I mean. You order at a kiosk or at the counter, and all your food comes in to-go containers. This is on the second floor of the building, the same as AN Southeast Asian place (on the first floor). You take the stairs on the right to come up here. The interior designs in this building remind me of Bali. It's pretty nice, and the second floor especially has plenty of seats and nice views. You can get almost all the Vietnamese food you can think of. Bahn mi, pho, and spring rolls are all on the menu. I'm not a fan of to-go containers for pho. I saw some people having pho in paper containers, and it felt wrong. I got the bahn mi. I have to say the ingredients and the quality of food are 5/5. The flavor or the way the ingredients were combined in the bahn mi I got wasn't quite hitting the spot. It wasn't the best I've had, so I'm giving it 4/5. The wait was a little long for a pickup place, even when it wasn't crowded at all. The major downside to this place for me is being located in the same building as AN Southeast Asian downstairs. I cannot personally pick Roll Play over AN bowls unless I'm getting both.
DO NOT COME HERE!!! I ordered the banh mi and the popcorn chicken. I found TWO hairs in the food and was immediately disgusted. The banh mi bread itself was very underwhelming and the oxtail was really dry. the egg also was flimsy and didn't find not ONE but TWO hairs in the food. utterly disgusted and will never be returning to this place ever again. popcorn chicken was not flavorful at all and was very dull tasting
I had no time to meal prep and was in a rush to get to work. An hour before my lunch break, I decided to uber eats Roll Play. I've always had a good experience with their food and their ability to deliver my food on time so I knew they would be reliable. I ordered their 3 count rolls as it was 1 buy set, get another set free. My total ended up around $40 for 6 spring rolls with various meats. A bit pricey but enough food for 2 meals. My only complaint would be the quality of their wrap. 2 of the 6 rolls actually came torn. They also offer a complimentary set of chilli flakes and chilli oil when you order delivery. I'm a huge fan of their chilli flakes and I believe it's made in house. Surprisingly, I've never actually physically gone to their restaurant, it's always been uber eats, but I'm pretty happy with everything and I don't think I'd go anywhere else for Vietnamese food.

I love this Vietnamese 24-hour pho and rice bowl place. We order on uber eats often and pick up since it's nearby and it's always ready super quick. We order their large protein bowls that come with chicken and beef and a ton of vegetables. On uber eats they also have deals where you get free chili oil and crunch which I love to add to the bowls. I also get their mama fried rice which comes with an egg on top and is delicious. I highly recommend this place for affordable high quality meals. read more

I ordered via uber eats and received some weird flat wide noodle. It is disgusting. Says new next to it so if this is what they're serving now, I'll find a new pho restaurant. Very disappointed. read more
Now that I am working in Arlington, I get to try out all these yummy places. :-) *moment of silence for my wallet* I decided to give Roll Play a try, the first floor I believe has a different name but has sushi and I believe Pho. Roll Play was on the second floor, I ordered a Salmon Bowl which had good reviews and looked great! Here comes the disappointing part....I specified *SHELLFISH ALLERGIES* on my order but I absolutely had an allergic reaction at work, so do not count on Roll Play to read the comments..although there is a comment box for online orders. Disappointing because the one bite I did have was pretty great! Although, a very nice place, there is not a lot of seats, more like a carry out place. I may consider trying some Pho in the future! Try at your own risk, if you have a similar allergy. read more

My Honey & I wanted some Pho. I saw advertisements for Roll Play and thought that it we'd try it out. We used the kiosk to order our food. The process was simple! We ordered the shrimp pho with spicy oxtail broth, with all the trimmings. We ordered 4 springrolls as well. My Honey added chicken to his shrimp pho and I added salmon to mine. We sat down and waited for one of their staff members to bring us our food. (The wait was around 5 minutes!) The inside is set up with picnic benches and stools. The decor is basic and the vibe is literally eat & roll out! The broth was hot and flavorful! The shrimp were plentiful and the salmon was a game changer! My Honey enjoyed his chicken addition, but once he tasted my salmon...he wanted more! This has to have been one of the best pho meals I've had in a long time! The spring rolls were delicious too, but that pho was like a warm hug on a cold day!! read more

A go-to take out spot for me! They have great pho options and the Egg Rolls are my favorite. They have lots of options, the Banh Mi and Wings are great too, but the pho is always a must order. They deliver quick and everything is fresh and hot! read more

There's certain foods I generally try to avoid getting to go pho being one of them but I was a bit pressed for time and decided to give this Vietnamese spot a try. Their menu features a variety of items like wings that come in several flavors: salt and pepper, spicy sweet chili, and Vietnamese style, loaded fries, summer rolls, fried rice, and an array of interesting pho protein combinations such as spicy oxtail, Atlantic salmon, and waygu beef flavors. I decided on trying out the waygu beef pho and was pleasantly surprised, it was packaged well, the scallions, bean sprouts, onions and mint toppings were fresh, the thin slices of waygu were exceptionally tender, and the oxtail bone broth really accented the dish. And bonus, their Arlington and Rossyln locations are open 24/7 which is rare to find for this particular type of cuisine, I highly recommend giving them a try when you need your pho fix! read more

I have tried RP for a long time now from their falls church and Tyson's location, but this time their Arlington location disappointed. After a long 12h shift at ER in Arlington hospital I just wanted some pho, while appreciate them being open 24h my order was completely wrong. I ordered a chicken magnum roll and got a shrimp instead and couldn't eat it since I am allergic to shrimp. My pho wasn't rice noodles, they were low carb and it was missing a lot of items in the pho. I asked the guy on the counter if they can give me the rice noodles not the low carb. The response I got is that since the lady in the kitchen forgot to make them they couldn't it serve it. For the magnum roll I noticed when I got home. I like RP for their pho but this time it wasn't a good experience read more
I love, love, love this place! The first time I tried their dishes, it was back in November/December 2024 when a friend was visiting, and we were doing touristy Washington, D.C. things. They were getting some work done, but they were still open and serving customers. Their second floor was open for ordering and dining in with lots of seating options. You order through the kiosk, at the counter or at a table of your choosing using the QR code for the Toast app at the tables. They bring out the food to you either way. My friend and I chose the tiered seats at the back of the second floor where they have floor cushions. The decor is very calming and has a garden-like feel with all the hanging plants and lanterns. It's cutesy. Every time I've gone, they haven't been too busy with dine ins, but always had a steady stream of takeaways and mobile orders. My friend had the chicken pho, and I had the Saigon rice bowl. She also had the hibiscus tea, I think, and I just opted for a regular fountain drink. She enjoyed her chicken pho with the only request of more jalapeños. My Saigon rice bowl was perfect for me. I devoured it, but actually had a few more bites of the protein and the veggies! The portions are absolutely filling, and the flavors absolutely delicious. Any other time I have ordered, I've stuck to the same Saigon rice bowl just because. I do tell myself I would try their banh mis and phos next time! Service was great! Food was delicious! Definitely recommend. read more

PHOnomenal!!! Located upstairs you will find an amazing array of options. First off the staff here are amazing shoutout to Buyana for taking great care of myself and other orders with love. Roll Play offers convenience of kiosk ordering, freshly cleaned bathrooms, lounge area w/ floor pillows. Let's not forget the amazing view of Rosslyn, VA. You can access this location quickly via car or metro. I ordered the Spicy Oxtail Pho, literally straight from the bone. The flavors were amazing. I also got the Mom's Fried Rice that came with a sunny egg, and choice of protein. Also got their Viet Coffee and OMG too good! Lastly loved the dessert jar's that was a great addition to end the meal with. Everything was delicious and I will be returning. Amazing to-go packaging!! read more
Food and service was amazing. Limited to no parking, its located across from the metro. The ambiance is also nice, you can head upstairs for more seating. It's a bit expensive though. I got the protein bowl and after tax it was close to $25, for one person. read more

The deals from ordering delivery were so tempting, almost too tempting so we just had to see what it was. It was such a delight! The pho portions were enough for 2, let alone the bogo deal, we were set with good pho! The flavors are clean and the broth is enriched with pho spices and with good clarity. The bowls are dressed with the proper fixings. The popcorn chicken could have used more of a 5-spice flavor similar to their pho, but it was crispy and well made with the potato flour. However they were missing the Thai basil as mentioned in the name. They offer a lot of what we expect out of a Vietnamese restaurant, but its just so good and warming. It might be repetitive but when it's well made and flavorful there's no complaints! I love to see southeast asian flavors break into the modern restaurant scene. Special shoutout to the thing I am most excited about: chili crunch and chili sate. Almost more exciting than the food we received, these condiments were so unique, updated, well made, and packaged. We love the traditional flavors and modern takes on what these condiments could look like for city people to enjoy and accept the experimentation of cultural foods. This was ok. The only appeal is that it's open for dine in until 12am. A bit overpriced, the bowl was like $20 after tax.. I've had better for $14, with more noodles & meat. This wouldn't be a problem if the food was good, the hours are good. But the food is very mid, the broth tastes a bit like water. The spicy oxtail broth was good tho. Idk, overall not the best but not terrible, just not worth the price.. Also, we ordered fries for the kid. It was $4 for a bucket of stringy slices of potato. Located next to the bustling Rosslyn Station, Happy Eatery is a modern take on classic Vietnamese fare. Situated in a sleek building with floor-to-ceiling windows and colorful floral murals adorning the walls, you enter and walk up a flight of stairs to the counter where you can order. There's plenty of seating around a corner, and once you order, you can sit wherever you'd like: the layout of the space is a bit odd for now, as it seems they are doing some construction. At around 7pm on a Friday night, the space was around 3/4 full, but not too noisy at all. The menu is great in that it offers a range of Vietnamese fare that's highly customizable: you can choose from some pre-set specials like their Spicy Oxtail Pho or Seasonal Salmon Rice Bowl, or create your own bowl/soup/salad/sandwich from scratch. While this isn't necessarily the most authentic place, I really did appreciate how I was able to tailor my order exactly to my preferences. I ordered their Spicy Oxtail Pho with Chicken ($12.50 for base pho, +$0.99 for spicy oxtail flavoring, +$1.49 for chicken) and Low-Carb Noodles (extra $2.99), and it came out in less than ten minutes! Just as a side note: they are a partner of the inKind/noshd apps, but if you'd like to use those to pay, you have to order directly through the app. The pho itself was surprisingly good, coming from a frequent diner of Pho 75 (my barometer for authentic, cheap pho). The broth itself really did taste of the richness of oxtail, and the spice was a perfect level to be just hot enough to feel it without being overly spicy and unpalatable to most people. The chicken itself was generously portioned: they say it's a quarter pound of chicken thigh, but I think they gave me more! It's quite well-seasoned, tender, and juicy. Lastly, the low-carb noodles were surprisingly good at replicating the texture of real rice noodles: they were a bit bouncier than the real thing, but I didn't mind at all (I love a good QQ texture!). One thing I didn't love was that the pho came in a cardboard bowl, so it went cold fairly quickly. Overall, Happy Eatery is a fun modern take on Vietnamese cuisine, and while it's a bit pricier than your average pho place, I think you're paying more for the ambiance, customizability, and quality of ingredients. This time around I tried the new Beef Brisket Pho and let me tell you, the brisket alone makes it well worth it. Fatty cut and generous helping, each bite of the pho surrounded by the trademark oxtail broth and other fixings made forget the frigid weather outside. I unfortunately had to take this to go because of work, but the restaurant has such a cute seating area with a nice window. Also did you know, the happy eatery has a deal if you order on uber eats to buy one get one free? I cannot imagine a better deal when we are talking about this level of flavor. read more
