Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Lots of people at the bar but not many diners around 8 PM. Was going to try their Japanese Ramen, but it didn't really hit the mark for traditional Japanese Ramen compared to the Ramen shops. Does it hit the spot? Sure because it's tasty but the noodles, the broth, the ingredients when compared to authentic Japanese is not quite there. Also tried the spicy beef pho. It really wasn't that spicy a lot more water down probably for more Americanized taste. It kind of takes several minutes for the waiters to take your order, but once the order is taken, the food comes out HELLA FAST. If you're hangry, this is the place to go. However, if you're trying to go somewhere after you're done eating, ensure you have enough time in between because it took them 15min to take our bill after our table was cleaned. The garden rolls weren't my favorite (smaller than other rice paper rolls I've had). My husband said his banh mi tasted great and the meat was cooked very well, but there was more bread than veggie/meat, so the ratio was off. I got the bun bo hue and IT HAD SO MUCH MEAT. I know I should be grateful but I wanted a little more noodles cuz there was barely any compared to the meat. If you're a meat lover, this is highly recommended! They have obviously changed up their menu over the years, but the authenticity remains. The service is great and the ambiance is relaxed. You will not be disappointed. When I'm craving pho, Saigon Saigon usually hits the spot. I typically order the large dac biet. The portion is generous with plenty of meat, though at times the meat can be slightly overcooked, and I wish there were more raw cuts added at the start so they cook properly in the broth. That said, the broth flavor is excellent and stands on its own without needing sriracha or house sauce. The noodles are great, and the vegetables are always fresh and good quality. Hands down best Bahn Mi served in the DMV area. It is a bit pricier than the bahn mi in other spots, but I love the way that the steak is seasoned. The bread baguette is always very fresh, and all the ingredients inside it are well seasoned (pickled) too. Comes wi the some shrimp chips! Beef pho has a ton of meat, noodles, all the classic fixings (bean sprouts, onions, limes, basil). It isn't the best soup broth base, but it's alright. Came here for the first time for lunch with a friend on a weekend. We ordered the rice rolls for the appetizer, lemongrass grilled beef vermicelli noodles, and the beef pho. Total came out to approximately $43 (not including tip). What's Hot - Quality. Pretty good. The rice rolls were delicious, especially with the peanut sauce. It came with a small side of pickled vegetables, which was slightly sweet and tart. The grilled beef in my vermicelli noodles was grilled nicely. It was tender and flavorful. The sauce was good, as well, and not too sweet. - Portions. Decent size for one person, but see below for additional information. - Price. Each bowl of noodles was $16, which is pretty decently priced. - Location. Convenient location, as it's close by the mall and the Pentagon City metro station. Easy to walk to and find. - Layout. The half front of their restaurant has a large sliding door, which is helpful. It can slide open leaving a large screen, so there's a nice breeze that can waft through the restaurant, but keep any bugs out. What's Not - Layout. Their layout is tight as in their tables are pretty close to each other. There's not much room walking between tables, so be prepared to bump into others. - Service. Each seat gives you a napkin rolled around chopsticks and a fork. There's no soup spoon included. When my vermicelli noodles arrived, it did not come with a soup spoon, either, so I had to ask for one. Since when do pho restaurants, not automatically come with soup spoons? Additionally, their staff don't appear to be very knowledgeable of their menu. I asked if their vermicelli bowls have options of tofu and meat in one bowl, and their staff said their vermicelli bowls don't come with tofu. That was contradictory to their menu, because there is lemongrass tofu vermicelli noodles on their menu. He didn't even tell me if I might have to pay for an additional charge for adding something on their pre-set menu. Odd and off-putting that their staff appeared so unknowledgeable about something so basic. - Only one size bowl of pho. Call me old fashioned, but I grew up with pho restaurants that gave you at least 2 options of your bowl size- small or large. They only have one bowl size, which kind of sucks if you're more hungry. Just be aware. Final Answer Would be willing to come back when I'm in the area, but not a place I'd go out of my way to return. read more

This isn't going to be the greatest Vietnamese place in the entire DMV, but for a place located in Pentagon City that's an easy metro ride to get to, it's pretty solid. I've ordered the bubble tea here many times and they're always satisfying though on the pricier side. The pho is also excellent: the broth is rich in flavor and the meatballs perfectly tender. It comes with a pretty large serving size. I often have it after a climbing session in Crystal City and I feel very full afterwards. The price is reasonable for the serving size though it's not a bargain by any means. The service is very efficient: they will take your order quickly and bring out your food pretty quickly. Typical for a lot of Asian places, they don't do the fake friendliness typical of American food places. They're straight to the point and won't be overly attentive: it's simply a cultural difference. I've never experienced any rudeness as other reviews have complained about - it feels like some people are upset that they weren't being specifically catered to but I don't think that's a fair expectation of a place. It has dimmer lighting making for a quieter, more lowkey ambiance. Overall, a pretty solid place. I wouldn't come to Pentagon City for eating here specifically (if you really want to travel for pho, go to Edens Center) but if I'm in the area, I'd happily make a stop here. read more

Overall, the space is clean, but the server we had would get visibly upset when we asked him to bring us soup spoons (and other necessities needed to eat our food that he had forgot to bring us). While the soup was pretty clean and most of us enjoyed it, it's definitely not worth the price. I think the soup could have been more flavorful and found it way too light for my taste. It's just not worth it, and paying an extra 2.00 for the large is probably just more noodles in a slightly bigger bowl. There was a decent amount of meat, at least. I killed my bowl within 5 minutes. There wasn't many people in attendance, but it may have been caused by the poor weather (steady rain with flash flood warning). The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. The tofu was rubbery not the usual puff tofu. The curry sauce had a sour taste, almost fermented, and the onions were almost raw.
