Hanoi Grilled Pork

Will definitely be one of my go-to local spots! I could tell management has formed a longtime connection with many patrons and cares about their community! The service as exceptional and my water never went below half full. The beef pho was amazing on a cold winter day and came out piping. Typically I do not like pork but I would eat this pork all day everyday! It was tender yet crispy and sweet. The sauce on the side was the perfect touch. I have a peanut allergy and the staff was very careful and accommodating.

I only got the iced coffee with coffee ice cubes, no food though. The coffee is very dark, very sweet, and VERY strong. Had me shaking. If that's your thing, you'll love it! So cute; such a fun thing to try.

Loved the orange pork chops here. Reminded me a lot of orange chicken, but it wasn't battered and didn't seem fried. There were real oranges in the sauce which I really enjoyed. I'm a huge fan of natural ingredients. The Vietnamese coffee was also super refreshing. The spots pretty hidden away, and I hadn't heard of it in the many years I've lived in NoVa but I definitely recommend this spot.

I ordered the beef pho bowl, and the portions were quite large. The broth was delicious too! I wasn't the biggest fan of the beef in the pho because it was a bit tough, but still a delicious bowl nonetheless. The service was pretty quick too. Note that they charge a 22% gratuity charge for parties more than 4.....

This place is an establishment, my family has been coming here for decades. Healthy, fresh, delicious food and excellent service. Great history as well. It's a must do when in the DC area.

The service was exceptional. The servers, maintained a vibrant and welcoming demeanor and demonstrated remarkable efficiency, ensuring our orders were delivered very quickly. The menu successfully caters to both vegan and non-vegan palates, and the quality is outstanding. The dishes are generously portioned, incredibly delicious, and offer great value for the price. We highly recommend The Nam Viet Restaurant for anyone seeking a high-quality Pho in a nice setting.

Finally visited Nam Viet Restaurant for lunch. A friend of mine raves about this place - so I wanted to try it out. It's a bit of a cruise for me from where I live, so I combined it with a couple of other visits in the general area. After looking over the menu - I already knew that I was going to sample their Pho Ga. The menu only lists one size - so I went with that. The Pho Ga came out in slightly less than 10 minutes. The plate of aromatics was fresh and in fine fettle. I first tasted the broth, then added in all the accoutrements. The noodles were slightly clumped, but I teased them out of the clump. The chicken broth had a slight hint of sweetness. Most of the chicken was tender - but I had two pieces that were tough and chewy. Overall, a good bowl of Pho Ga. Nam Viet does not currently accept Apple Pay - so I paid with cash. Service was good. #NamVietRestaurant

Can Tho Crispy Glazed Baby Back Ribs

Every 6-8 weeks, I come here for one thing and one thing only: Can Tho Crispy Glazed Baby Back Ribs. The meal is pretty simple, but so delicious: deep-fried baby back ribs coated in a sweet and salty fish sauce glaze. The ribs are always served piping hot, paired with a bowl of jasmine rice. The sauce is so good, you'll want to dump the entire bowl into the fish sauce glaze that floods the plate just to sop up every bit. Service is always very fast. The restaurant is huge, but I've never seen it packed; it seems like Nam Viet is the go-to spot on Clarendon, though, for takeout bc there are always multiple patrons and food delivery drivers coming in and out to pick up orders every time I go.

Been eyeing this place for sometime now, wondering what that pho would taste like. Finally stumbled upon them when my taste buds were wanting something different and tasty.. Boy was I on the money!!! The service one the walk-in was exactly how it should be. Inviting and calm, we were seated right away. The restaurant was empty but got full up quick for the early evening rush. I was able to indulge in a pork belly with shrimp along with jasmine rice.. when I tell you this awoken my chakras and align my energy just right. My lady had grill chicken with vermicelli.. she loved it but me I was in love with it. I was thinking of getting a to go order but realize I'm being alil greedy. I will be return to my new pho spot in Clarendon..

Let me tell you, if you're looking for an authentic experience, look no further. The food was absolutely delicious! I can see why they've been around for so long, the flavors, the texture and the portions were just right!! Service was speedy and friendly, which was another plus. There's plenty of room for large groups and they have a variety of specialty cocktails. We will be back!!

Came here near closing, but the staff was very quick and attentive. I got the tofu yellow curry, and it was pretty decent. The menu said it was spicy, but I didn't really think so. The curry itself is pretty good, but a bit overpriced. The cilantro and snap peas were also essentially inedible as the stems were hard

My friend took my here and I was so shocked that I've never been here the many years I've been in the area. I can't speak for parking, however it's at a really convenient location as it's only a few steps away from Clarendon metro. I have street parking anxiety so this made me happy. Upon entering, I thought the restaurant was quite unique in the decor. It's casual yet not at the same time. Love that it's family owned and seems everyone is very nice here as well. There's lots of options on the menu with the exception of dessert. However the drinks offered gives you a taste of some sweetness if needed. Since there was so much to choose from the menu, I let my friend pick our appetizer and had assistance from our server to help me pick a drink and an entree. For starters we had the appetizer combo, for my drink I had the passionately yours and a coffee on my way out, and for my meal I was recommended the favorite crab meat and sausage fried rice. So what did I think? Loved the drink. I'm not big of a drinker but once in awhile I like to have a cocktail. The passionately yours was the perfect amount of sweetness and lightness. I hate overly sweet cocktails because I get a terrible headache the next day. I thought the appetizer had really good portions. The crispy spring rolls reminded me of California style. I'm Vietnamese so I love the different styles restaurant makes. I love that they didn't skimp on the garden rolls. I noticed that since Covid a lot of restaurants had to cut back and unfortunately the garden rolls became smaller in size (regardless I love them so much I order it when I can). It was also great that my friend didn't like them so I got to eat them all to myself. For my entree, although you wouldn't think much of a simplistic dish, I really enjoyed how it was seasoned. I asked for it to be spicy and it was perfection. Don't look down on homey suggestions because I find that sometimes they're better than intricate dishes. I ended up bringing it home because I wanted to try their coffee and let me say the fried rice was pretty delicious as leftovers. I'll definitely be back to try a noodle dish next time.

I love this place. Although parking is a challenge I usually find some. It's well worth it. The setting is semi-casual but still very comfortable for a date and the food is fantastic; it never disappoints. Service is always great too. This time I had the Anh Tai's spicy garlic noodles while my wife had the deep fried spareribs. So good. We also shared crispy egg rolls.

Phở - Tái, Chín, Gàu, Gân, Sách: The broth wasn't as deep or clear as the Philadelphia branch's, and it lacked a bit of umami and sweetness. The beef was slightly overcooked, lacking the chewy texture of raw beef. However, the rice noodles were still bouncy. Overall, it was just okay, not worth waiting in line for almost half an hour. Chè Báp: Simple but incredibly delicious! The coconut milk was rich, fragrant, and sweet, but not too sweet; the corn pudding was thick and fragrant, and you could even taste the corn kernels. I was very excited to enjoy lunch here with my family and see what the hype is all about. The inside was a bit cramped. They tried to pack as many tables in the venue as possible so the walkways are narrow. There isn't even room for a host stand near the front door so at first I thought it was a seat yourself restaurant. An employee greeted us promptly and pointed us to what table my family should sit at. Once seated I noticed I could not pull my chair out very far before hitting the person behind me. My 2 year old daughter wanted to sit on my lap but there was not enough space for me to do that without interfering with the person behind me. For reference I am 5 feet tall and 112 pounds. I very rarely feel cramped but the proximity of the tables was a little claustrophobic for me. We ordered Chay Nuggets, the vegan Banh Mi option, and Pho. All the food lived up to my expectations. Hands down the best Pho I ever had. The base of the broth was good on its own, and beyond compare once some of the available sauces and toppings were added. I was impressed with how many vegetables were included in this dish. This dish was hearty and I would definitely order it again. The nuggets were a great option for my daughter. They were less fluffy than an American style nugget and nicely crisped on the outside with slightly sweet sauces for dipping. The Banh Mi was good but my least favorite of the items ordered. My husband and I both wish the tofu was a little more prominent and hearty rather than shredded. I am not sure if the way they prepared it was more authentic. Regardless the flavor was good and the baguette was memorable with a little crispness on the outside and softness in the center. While the food was worth coming back for, the service and indoor dining would make me want to take my food to go. It did not feel like a family friendly business. My daughter wanted to get up and walk around and I felt some glares from the employees. In general there was no warmth from the employees. There was no checking in on our meals or any friendly conversation at the table. Thanks Chay for so many vegan options and I am happy I finally got to check out this highly rated business.
