We came to Pi BBQ & Bar after seeing some of the owner's videos and wanting to support a local business. I'm glad we did because the food and hospitality were excellent. We went with the all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ and tried a little bit of everything--beef bulgogi, brisket, pork belly, skewers, kimchi, and more. We also added the A5 Wagyu and Wagyu fried rice. There was a TON of food, everything came out great, and the sauces were seriously on point. The AYCE was affordable and absolutely worth it. Beyond the food, the owner was incredibly welcoming, came over and talked with us, and genuinely seemed appreciative that we were there. We enjoyed it enough that we took food home and already know we'll be back. If you're in the Arlington area and looking for Korean BBQ, definitely give Pi BBQ & Bar a shot. Really fun AYCE Korean BBQ spot in Arlington. Pi has a great selection of meats, and we especially liked the marbled beef and boneless short rib. The banchan and sides kept coming, and the corn cheese was a nice addition between rounds of meat. Service was friendly and attentive, which makes a big difference with Korean BBQ, especially when you're ordering multiple rounds. Walking distance from our hotel which is a plus. When you walk inside it's clean and looks fancy. Love the grill they use along with the air vent to suck up the smoke when grilling. We were the only customers in so service was quick. Received our food quick. The meat was very soft and good. It's very different from other Korean BBQ places. Once you take a bite, you taste the quality in the meat they serve. This place looks new but not sure how long they've been open. If you're staying around the area, must try. I went to Pi BBQ and Bar in Pentagon City with my family this Sunday, and overall the experience was just okay. Before even getting inside, parking was a major pain and almost made us pick a different spot. There were only about four spots out front for the entire restaurant, and the surrounding area wasn't great. It's next to a gentleman's club and a 7/11, and there were some sketchy people hanging around, which wasn't ideal, especially when dining with family. Once we entered the restaurant, we were seated immediately, which was a nice start. That said, the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived and we were the only people there for a while. The owner mentioned that business has been slower due to the end-of-holidays timing, which could be true, but it also made me wonder if the pricing or overall process might be a factor, since it's definitely on the pricier side compared to other KBBQ spots in the area. The space itself is very cute and aesthetic and would def be perfect for anyone looking for an Insta-worthy place to eat. A lot of thought clearly went into the aesthetics, from the interior design to the presentation of the raw meats at the table and I loved it. They had warm lighting, lots of gold accents, mirrors, etc and it all went together so well. Visually, it stands out from many other KBBQ restaurants in the best way! The menu is prix fixe with three options at $49, $69, and $89 per person. The main difference between the $69 and $89 options is the inclusion of American/japanese wagyu. We ended up going with the $49 option and had no regrets! There was so much variety. Service was fine overall. Our server was very nice and friendly, but once the food arrived, we were largely left on our own to cook everything. If you prefer more guidance or frequent check-ins, this may not be the best kbbq spot for you. One thing that stood out to me was food safety. It felt like some of the raw meat plates may have touched other dishes, and while the presentation was beautiful, I think too much attention was placed on aesthetics instead of supporting diners during the cooking process. The meats themselves were very fresh and delicious, which was a highlight. The sides were also good. The RADISH, corn cheese, fried rice, and yakisoba were all tasty. However, the white rice I ordered was slimy and mushy, which made me concerned it may have been spoiled, so I didn't finish it. One important thing to note is that they use a lot of peanuts compared to other KBBQ spots. If you have a peanut allergy, that's something you should absolutely mention before being seated. Overall, Pi BBQ and Bar has a great look and solid food, but the experience felt truly meh. It's a good option if you're prioritizing ambiance and presentation, but there are other KBBQ spots I'd choose over PI for a better price, more attentive service, and a smoother overall dining experience. read more

Went for a Friday date night and we were so happy that we tried this place! We have a favorite KBBQ place but it's much further away, so we were really looking forward to trying this spot out. Firstly, the service was great - Zuka helped us figure out how to get our meat cooked perfectly. Even though we could order on the iPad she was always available to help or answer questions, and the bartender came over to help us a few times as well. We felt very taken care of! For us, most places have delicious meat options that can range from good to amazing (and cooking it yourself makes you semi-responsible for how good it is), so sides & sauces can ultimately make or break a KBBQ spot. Pi did not disappoint on any front - the sauces were so good, and went perfectly with the meats we chose. We had planned on a mix of chicken & beef, but the brisket & bulgogi were so good we ended up getting two rounds of both instead of switching to chicken. The corn was so good (see below) and the cucumbers were amazing & so refreshing - we ordered two sides & could have probably done three. Two warnings - the side of cheesy corn is absolutely too much for two people! We ordered it from the iPad and did not realize the size of the dish. Since you do have to finish everything that you order, we got a little stressed about finishing the huge portion. Next time, if it's just two of us again, we will probably get one more meat instead of the corn - but no regrets because it was very delicious. Really impressed with this place. We came for lunch and everything was excellent. Tried the brisket, bulgogi, steak tips, chicken hearts, and pork, and honestly there wasn't a bad thing on the table. The meat quality was great, and the dry rub seasonings were especially good. Definitely try them on the chicken hearts. What also stood out was how nice the whole place feels. The decor, heavy plates and cups, and even the telescoping exhaust hoods over the grills make it feel like a much more expensive, high-end Korean BBQ restaurant, but the prices are actually very reasonable. Service was great too. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and helpful without hovering. Really great combination of food quality, atmosphere, service, and value. We'll definitely be back. read more

Friday evening visit. The place has only been open a few months. The location and setup is pretty nice with adjustable fans to handle smoke. The service was efficient (Emma was very helpful) and the food was good. Lots of choices for dipping sauces. My main complaint would be the price of the drinks. Took my wife and child to this place in search of good Korean cuisine. The cleanliness of the establishment is evident. Its a small quaint venue, but what was exceptional was the service from Melody our server. She was very animated and genuinely involved through the entire experience. We partook of the 2 adult Dining-in adults venue. There was more than enough food for our 2 yr old too. This place had fresh squeezed lemonade which was a win for beverage of pur child [not too sweet, and none of that crap from a bag to a machine]. My wife enjoyed the tea and yes, they had Jinro original soju which I appreciated. We ordered the pork belly, kalbi, and the wagyu. We added the radish and cheese corn. It was all great. I would have given it 5 stars for thw price, but what manager of a korean place let's something as integral as kimchi run out?!?!?! Mind boggling. Ok. I actually followed a server who changed work location. Melody provides such excellent service I would follow her to any restaurant. I had no expectations because I never had Korean BarBQue and I expected the location to be difficult but I went to support her. I am so glad that I did! This is a newly opened restaurant that sits between Eads and the Richland Hwy there are a lot of local restaurants in that area so I knew to park on the street or in the public lot. I chose the lot which is pay to park. It was cheap ($1 an hour) and only half a block walk. No trouble or hassle at all. The restaurant is super nice with a great modern vibe and decor. I learned I could select premium beef or a host of other items that I could barbecue at my table. I selected the pork belly and asked melody to prepare it for me. I also selected mushrooms and a couple of sides. After watching her, I realized not only could I do this myself, it would be a ton of fun! Next visit! The quality of the meat and sides were truly excellent. The dipping sauces and spices were also excellent and made the meat even tastier, although it was perfect by itself. I was so pleased with my meal and Melody's service, I am taking some friends back this week. I was surprised to learn they will be open for Thanksgiving. The owner, Scott, was onsite. Very accommodating and helpful. All of the servers were very friendly. This was my first time, as I said, experiencing Korean barbecue, so I am curious what others will think but I cannot imagine anything but rave reviews. My meal was perfect! The service was wonderful and our server was very attentive, continuously checking on us throughout our meal. The ambiance was also great and the restaurant was very clean, making it perfect for date night. We'd go back again. This is a really fun place -- the meats are all excellent, the banchan and sides offer variety, and the cooking surface tables work well. It's clean and comfortable. The staff and Scott the owner are all eager to please, although it's clear that as a still pretty new restaurant, they have some kinks to work out. We've been twice, and eaten a mountain of food, more than enough to justify the price of the AYCE. I don't really understand some of the other reviews that mention things like being charged extra for rice, since again, it's AYCE, and that definitely includes rice. read more

My husband took me here for date night and it was a great experience. we had our baby with us and they were so accommodating . the ambiance was nice, they were playing oldies but goodies. i loved that. the staff was so nice and attentive. the food was delicious. The meat was high quality and the banchan was good, but the price didn't justify it. White rice on the side is extra and the sauces were not saucy enough to properly dip your meats into. They also serve wagyu but the sauces are all too heavy for it - they're missing the classic sesame oil and salt and opted for a herbaceous peanut sesame mix instead. I would consider going back if they dropped their prices. Otherwise, it's not worth my time or money. I'd rather eat KBBQ less often and make the trip further out in Virginia to a more traditional spot. read more

The service was alright, the environment was very hostile. I'm not sure with us being Black, in an Asian and white owned-business if we were welcomed in that space. The White male owner was very rude and demanding. He brought the wrong dishes to our table as well as another table, we told him that we did not order the item. He hurried to take it away and told the customer that's it's free anyway, implying that it was no point of him taking the dish away. We were severely overcharged, table of 5 who chose $49pp our total per person came up the $74 with added gratuity which was $61. That is ridiculous and a scam! I came back in the restaurant to use the bathroom and join my friends, he stopped me as I walked to the bathroom to ask if I'm with someone. I repeatedly told him that I literally just dined here, after the third time he allowed me to go to the bathroom. My friends and I will never return to this money laundering scheme again! Also the restaurant is very small, there's no parking outside the restaurant because it's next to a gentleman's club and 7-eleven. read more
