The food is amazing. I stopped by during their happy hour and tried all kinds of dumplings, and they turned out good. So, I ordered one more round, and I also ordered 3 entrées, which were really good too. For the service, I think it's kind of like self-service.

Very much enjoyed the beef bibimbap! Came in a traditional stone bowl piping hot and delicious. Loved that they didn't skimp on the toppings. Enjoyed the shrimp dumplings on happy hour too.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. Not much of a crowd on a Thursday night as many other restaurants seemed to be filled up. Dinner was very casual. I ordered the duck bibimbap which was absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Asian pear limeade which was really good. No problems here. Overall, a cool experience.

Really wanted to love Chiko after seeing the reviews, but while the food tasted great, the overall experience was just ok. There were 5 of us in the group and it's a small location that really isn't set up for that size group. You order individually at the counter and by the time the 5th person in our group got their food the first person had been done eating for quite some time. That being said if you're ordering out or eating in with just a couple people I imagine it would be great. I got potstickers and they were very tasty.

Chiko's is a Chinese Korean place but not really fusion just offering both. Not a lot of seating inside but the patio is nice. The people are helpful and the food is good.

This little place is nice and cozy perfect for a casual date night. My husband and I went in for the dumplings and oh my! They are very flavorful and saucy yum yum go try them!!! The shrimp one was my favorite! Very fast service too which is good when you're hungry hehe

Really, really delicious. We stopped here for a quick dinner and loved everything we tried. The ingredients are fresh and well-cooked, the service is lightning-fast, the prices are reasonable, and the flavors are bold and memorable. If you do come here, definitely try the noodle dishes - they're particularly delicious!

One of the best spots in Shirligton! CHIKO never disappoints, the food is always so tasty and flavorful! The Tots are a MUST! Creative menu and great atmosphere, you can't go wrong with dining here!

If you're looking for something new, a fusion restaurant that combines Korean and Chinese flavors in a casual setting in Arlington is an excellent place to go. The chefs have done a great job of creating new dishes by blending two distinct flavors. The place is clean and tidy, making it a great option to enjoy a meal. This place is in the Village at Shirlington, where one can enjoy a good walk after satisfying food.

My boy friend just brought home dinner from Chiko and I have to immediately follow up with a review. The food was DELICIOUS! I mean some of the best I've ever had, super flavorful. We have the Cumin Lamb Stir Fry, Pork and Kimchi Potsticker and Kimchi on the side. Everything had a power punch of flavor, large servings and the potstickers (5) were large and delicious. National Kimchi Day selection did not disappoint!

These guys are on the pricier side. While portions are decent and the taste is phenomenal, the price is a bit steep for what you're getting, in my opinion. The overall cost of the meal plus tip was more than what I think this kind of restaurant would usually charge, especially with the independent customer nature of the place. (You seat yourself, scan a qr code to order, and check yourself out via the qr code as well. The serve brings your water, utensils, order, and refills water.) Basically, I'm docking a star for their price, otherwise this joint would be 5* in my book. This place also doesn't have much going for them in terms of decor and interior aesthetic, but I liked their DC light. What we got: Pork Belly Fried Rice - 5* this was so yummy! The pork belly was really good and I enjoyed the pumpkin (or maybe it was squash?) in the fried rice. Spicy Bulgogi Stir Fry - 5* I'm not a mushroom fan and this dish didn't convert me to love mushrooms but I was able to eat a couple because the sauce was so great. The bulgogi had great flavour as well. I was a little disappointed with the size, especially compared to the size of the fried rice.

Chiko is a happy welcome to the area in Shirlington area! It's been hard to find tasty and reliable Asian food in the area. I've yet to dine inside their restaurant as I've always ordered it via DoorDash. Their food always comes super fresh and in great packaging. The amount of food is certainly enough to fill you up, but I think some of the ingredients make the price a little higher than your typical Asian bowl dish. I view it a little more upscale and not quite my homecooked authentic Asian food that I crave sometimes, but I know what I'm getting from this place when I choose to order from here. I always order the sweet potato noodles with bulgogi and it's always super fresh and tasty! I also get the crispy chicken spring rolls which are great! I look forward to trying out their dumpling happy hour soon.

The House Pork Belly Fried Rice. Incredibly rich and flavorful and definitely worth sharing.

Chiko has raised the bar for Asian food in Shirlington. If you know Chiko from DC, you'll be celebrating its arrival here. If you don't, then it's time to check out this casual Chinese-Korean fusion concept. If you (or somebody in your group) has found traditional Korean food to be little too inaccessible, spicy, or funky, then definitely give Chiko a try. They do am amazing job of integrating Korean flavors and techniques into otherwise mainstream rice and noodle dishes that can have a kick, but aren't defined by their heat level or pungency. If deep fried is your thing, there's plenty to enjoy here, but my advice is to explore the rich selection of bowls, and to ask to see the vegetarian menu, which inexplicably is not just a part of the regular menu. Vegetables get great respect here, from the super flavorful charred mushrooms that punch up the chattered green bean appetizer (a rich meal in itself), to the surprise appearance of butternut squash in the House Pork Belly Fried Rice. The Outdoor seating is great, as was the incredibly helpful and friendly server on our recent visit. Definitely my new #1 spot in Shirlington.

    Chilled . Yummy.

We've since ordered multiple times, but the quality of the crispy beef has been inconsistent. Sometimes it scores a five, while other times it dips to a three, likely due to different chefs preparing the dish. I noticed this firsthand during my last visit when I picked up my order. Though I was excited to indulge in the crispy beef again, it turned out a bit tougher than usual. No service issues. Restaurant is clean and inviting. I'd love for TNR to refine this dish so it maintains its deliciousness consistently, as I truly enjoy it and will definitely be back for more.

The beef and broccoli was great. Nice fresh slices of beef with the cooked perfectly broccoli and plenty of sauce to drizzle on my white rice. The dumpling were meh. The size and portion was good for the price but the filling was underseasoned. The egg rolls were great as well! Wish there was a little more meat but not terrible at all!

However, my opinion changed when my wife and I dined in the restaurant for the first time. It will not be our last. What drove me to dine in was the ambience I observed when I picked up a previous takeout order. It was a really nice place, with neat décor, plenty of seating, and a serving staff that was obviously attentive. This remained my impression when we came here for the first time recently. Contrary to our takeout orders, the food blew us away when it was fresh from the kitchen. Perhaps this was because we ordered different things, or perhaps because what we ordered to-go (e.g., fried eggplant, Szechuan chicken) did not travel well. Whatever the case, but this was some of the best Chinese food we have eaten in a long time. For appetizers we ordered the puffy scallion pancake, which was fun to tear and share, and came with some very nice curry sauce or dipping. We also ordered the pork soup dumplings, which were everything you could want in a soup dumpling - piping hot with a warm, soul-soothing broth inside (but which does not travel particularly well in takeout orders). For our entrees, my wife ordered the duck fried rice. I am not the biggest fan of fried rice, but this was some of the best I ever had. The duck favor was prominent but not overwhelming and the pineapple was the best integrated I have ever experienced in a savory dish. I had leftover for lunch today and it was still quite good. I ordered the fish in chili oil, a bubbling, soupy dish covered in peppers. This was phenomenal, an excellent balance of heat, numbing, and flavor. And there was plenty of fish in the dish, as well. I will be hard pressed not to order this every time we come here in the future. We split the fried green beans (solid - crisp and well spiced), which I ate for breakfast over rice with some of the leftover fish. Again, it was still good. As my previous comments imply, serving sizes are large.

In person we ordered Mongolian beef, chili fish, cumin lamb, Szechuan chicken, a crispy pork belly dish that I can't remember the exact name, and kids broccoli fried shrimp. These dishes were way too spicy for me, should have heeded the warning when there are 3 chili symbols on the menu: chili fish, szechuan chicken.

The price of the duck has reached a point that is no longer affordable. All other dishes prices continued to increase even though they are always just subpar. On this most recent trip, the duck was good, the Joe-yen shrimp portion is a bit less but the price has increased. The Shiitake with baby bok choy was good but not enough Shiitake. The usually dependable Shrimp fried rice was horrible. Not stir fried completely and no wok taste. Just bland like I can cook it at home. Sadly, that will be my last visit to this institution. Their answer to slower traffic seems to be raising the price and decreasing portions. 6 fried dumplings cost $16. Almost $3 a dumpling. That is price of an entree for 6 dumplings.
