Late night last minute diners here; they were so kind and the food recommendations and the drinks were outstanding. Ivan, our server and his colleagues and even the chef were warm and enthusiastic; try this, have this; it took me back to Kamerbooks and The Afterwords Cafe late night in DuPont Circle in the 90's. This will be our new Afterwords maybe we can convince them to stay open late. The warm neighborhood hospitality the super smart servers; you could come here just for that - the food and the drinks are also good. Feels like home after a long stay away. Yes, I have a new love. Thank you so much to all the staff who gave us such a pleasant surprise. DC needs this; it's in Clarendon. TNR

When two other Chinese people approve a spot, that's when you know it hits. Consider this a peer-reviewed experience. We got the Caramelized Pork Belly, Black Pepper Beef, and Guo Ba Rou for three people. And yes, it came with rice (thank god, because a Chinese restaurant with no rice is forbidden). Oh my god. Every dish was perfection. The caramelized pork belly just melted in my mouth and was soooo soft. The Guo Ba Rou was crispy but soft in the inside. Perfection. I'm still thinking about it, which says everything. Easily top 3 in the NOVA area for me. Service was great too. They offered us chopsticks almost immediately while some other tables were happily working through forks, which made me laugh a little. Highly recommend!! So so SOOO good.

I've gone back for dinner a couple times now (all to-go orders) and I will say they are consistent. I wish they weren't so pricey , otherwise I would be here a lot more often . The quality of food would need to be better for the pricing to be justified . I would love to come in & sit down for dinner here to see if my opinions change . New things I have tried : Sesame Shrimp -- 10/10 a new favorite Basil Eggplant -- 7/10 extremely salty

UberEats order I called the restaurant before placing my order to get clarity on how I should substitute an item before ordering. The person who answered the phone was very helpful and spoke calmly as she guided me through the order. The crispy beef was INCREDIBLE! By far one of the BEST I've ever had. It comes with a kick of spice so after a few moments spent wiping your watering eyes lol prepare to be whisked away by the beautiful flavors throughout this dish. I ordered mines with a side of brown rice, which was an additional $4, and eh, wasn't my favorite twist on a traditional side because there was some sort of bean flavor added and at first I thought that my rice was spoiled until I realized that there was an added flavor to the rice. I'd probably stick to white rice next time or make my own brown rice at home. However, the crispy beef was everything! Huge strips of beef, perfectly fried. Next, they added strips of carrot and green onions (scallions) adding a refreshing break from the spices. This was SO satisfying and delicious. Can't wait to visit them in person but definitely appreciate how well they packaged my order and presented their restaurant well.

Do I always order too much? Absolutely. Am I always grateful for the leftovers absolutely. I've only ordered TNR to go but I've ordered it several times. Delivery is always faster than predicted and the folks who deliver it are always kind. I love the sauciness. I love how heavily the chicken is breaded. I'm obsessed with the dumplings. I've tried everything from the soup to the noodles to the rice to the vegetable rolls to the chicken to the beef. I haven't tried the seafood fwiw. The food is always fresh. There's always more than enough. The flavors are delicious.

Tried their food twice. One was a delivery and the second was dine in. Had good experience at both times. Walked in on a late Saturday night, about an hour before they close. Got seated quickly. The restaurant was clean with cute decors/interior. Service was quick and very good. Our server was friendly and answered all questions we had. Food came out fast. TNR fried rice was great. Black pepper beef was so tender and flavorful. Jumbo shrimp pork shumai was delicious. Their shumai sauce was unique; it was my first time to try it - it was a little sweet but full of umami. Despite the order of milk tea not being served, I would still give this place 5/5. Delicious food, cute interior, and quick service.

TNR Cafe, situated on Wilson Blvd near the Court House Metro station in Arlington, VA, is renowned for its mix of authentic Sichuan, traditional, and American-style Chinese cuisine, providing reliable quality and friendly, fast service. Their signature dishes include crispy beef, Mapo Tofu, and dumplings. The atmosphere is cozy and casual, a place to enjoy flavorful, comforting Chinese dishes.

Chicken Corn Soup for 2. I did add a little sesame oil for more flavor but worth the 9 bucks

Ordered delivery from them after years and glad to say still a solid choice for Chinese food. I got the chicken fried rice, corn and chicken egg drop and the spicy beef soup and all were good picks. Between two people there is enough leftovers for at least two days. I also like you can order delivery not on uber which saves some money.... Remember when you weren't spending 15 extra in price mark ups and random fees? Solves that. I would say if you are wanting some decent take out and not wanting to pay a bunch extra for outsourcing this is a great option.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to! The menu designs needs some developing because I can see they had some issues of writing Chinese script which is read up down and English script which is read side to side, so in trying to incorporate both readings for accessibility reasons, they will have you flipping the menu up and side since the ingredient list is less common it requires a more through read so you know what you're ordering. But my comment is mostly made for audiences who uncommonly encounter Chinese cuisine and actually need to read the full description. Every dish we ordered was immaculate and well prepared. Each protein was individually prepared such as cubed or velveted, so there is a special attention to how to treat each protein for its most optimal texture that is very indicative with Chinese-style cooking. The dishes were generously portioned as a lot of dishes are made family style. The flavors of each dish were so addictive, the garlic really comes through since each dish is made to order so there is a wonderful fragrance that comes from each dish. The menu is also impressively large and diverse, alongside their plating for each dish so it felt unique to receive a dish that was conceived in its own style. A standout dish for us was the Beef in Spicy Broth, it is very familiar to hot pot with all the various toppings and broth, but it had a great depth of flavor witch what I think were fermented black beans. It really allows you to explore a diverse amount of dishes with their own distinct identity through flavor profile or technique of preparation. Had a brilliant time, the booth style seating is comfortable, and its at a wonderful price point considering the quality is superb. Want to go again and explore other dishes!

I got several dishes for takeout: Pan fried dumplings, fried shrimp wontons, beef chow foon, and salt and pepper squid. The pan fried dumplings were chewy and crisp just like I like them and the filling was very flavorful. One of my favorites of the night. The shrimp wontons were crisp and full of shrimp. Would definitely get them again I just wish they were a little larger or they gave you more for the price. The beef chow foon was lacking flavor. Not much else to say about it but it was a good sized portion at least. The salt and pepper shrimp had great flavor. I don't think I'd get it again for takeout because it was soggy by the time I got home but it would probably be even better if you ate it at the restaurant. Will come back to try some more things!

Amazing food, always take my friends here. Service is quite fast with water bought to the table and not a long wait after ordering.

Yes it is for sure :) lots of big tables. A bar. Outdoor patio.

Always appreciate the minimalist yet still eloquently-decorated aesthetic of the restaurants, complete with a window to view the kitchen, which itself seemed relatively clean and well-kempt. Ordered the Woodear Mushroom and Mint Salad, and the Mogu Shiitake Mixian Ramen. The mushrooms were light and chewy, yet savory with citric and garlicky elements, and overall very refreshing. The ramen was solid in most respects, with a decent variety of vegetables and multiple proteins, including tofu, shiitakes, soybeans and marinated egg (which I enjoyed despite typically not liking hard-boiled egg too much). The noodles were a little bland, however, and didn't taste like they absorbed much of the broth. Overall, I'd say 4.5 stars are more accurate; YbP Noodle House is a regular haunt for me because the quality is there in most respects.

However, my opinion changed when my wife and I dined in the restaurant for the first time. It will not be our last. What drove me to dine in was the ambience I observed when I picked up a previous takeout order. It was a really nice place, with neat décor, plenty of seating, and a serving staff that was obviously attentive. This remained my impression when we came here for the first time recently. Contrary to our takeout orders, the food blew us away when it was fresh from the kitchen. Perhaps this was because we ordered different things, or perhaps because what we ordered to-go (e.g., fried eggplant, Szechuan chicken) did not travel well. Whatever the case, but this was some of the best Chinese food we have eaten in a long time. For appetizers we ordered the puffy scallion pancake, which was fun to tear and share, and came with some very nice curry sauce or dipping. We also ordered the pork soup dumplings, which were everything you could want in a soup dumpling - piping hot with a warm, soul-soothing broth inside (but which does not travel particularly well in takeout orders). For our entrees, my wife ordered the duck fried rice. I am not the biggest fan of fried rice, but this was some of the best I ever had. The duck favor was prominent but not overwhelming and the pineapple was the best integrated I have ever experienced in a savory dish. I had leftover for lunch today and it was still quite good. I ordered the fish in chili oil, a bubbling, soupy dish covered in peppers. This was phenomenal, an excellent balance of heat, numbing, and flavor. And there was plenty of fish in the dish, as well. I will be hard pressed not to order this every time we come here in the future. We split the fried green beans (solid - crisp and well spiced), which I ate for breakfast over rice with some of the leftover fish. Again, it was still good. As my previous comments imply, serving sizes are large.

In person we ordered Mongolian beef, chili fish, cumin lamb, Szechuan chicken, a crispy pork belly dish that I can't remember the exact name, and kids broccoli fried shrimp. Loved everything but especially pleasantly surprised by the crispy pork belly dish. These dishes were way too spicy for me, should have heeded the warning when there are 3 chili symbols on the menu: chili fish, szechuan chicken.
