This miso soup is simmering and tasty.

Quiet, friendly, and quaint Asian restaurant found in the Arlington area. Colored in white and off-white columned walls, this place serves traditional thai foods like noodles and curries and Japanese cuisine such as sushi and tempura. They serve fresh ingredients for their salads, soups, and entrees. Medium spicy is the standard level for their spice level. If you want your food with some spice, I would recommend beyond the medium spice level. Otherwise, why order for mild level? With just a handful of tables and limited counter space, this place is immaculate, and vibrant music from KPop to contemporary American songs can be heard thru their speakers. Looking forward to trying more stuff from them.

The food is delightfully creative and an innovative interweaving of Thai and Japanese elements. The staff are super friendly and attentive, and you can see the chef at work on the sushi, particularly the carpaccio with an artist's attention to detail. The serving platters themselves are a feast for the eyes, including a slice of tree trunk as the plate upon which the hamachi kama was served. There is a steady stream of to go orders being prepared, and few customers actually eat in the restaurant itself, but if they do, they are in for a treat as they will experience being transported to Isaan with the authentic northern Thai / Lao dishes while also experiencing premium sushi with a twist.

Came to Siam Miyaki one night when I had a craving for Khao Soi. We were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant with more authentic thai food options in the Arlington area. The restaurant is pretty tiny and casual with limited seating. Our waitress was very kind and passionate about the food they were serving! The food was delicious and was comforting on a colder rainy day. The khao soi was absolutely the highlight with the right level of creaminess and spiciness. Like most other thai restaurants I've been to, I didn't feel the portion sizes were huge but still large enough to feel full. Definitely recommend supporting this local business.

Veggie fried rice was fresh, tasty, and ample. Had already eaten quite a bit before taking this pic, and still plenty left to photograph.

This place is cute and super tiny. The food was excellent and a good value, but given its small size, and consequently the small number of staff working, it had some limitations, so it's important to have the right expectations before going. First, the restaurant has six tables (3 2-person high tops and 3 4-person low tops) and a little counter seating. It can seat around 20 people at max capacity. The dishes we ordered all came out super fresh, and it's clear it was made to order with fresh ingredients, and I thought portions and quality were great for the price. In particular, the size and quantity of shrimp in my fiance's noodle dish was impressive. The presentation was also thoughtful, and we walked away very satisfied. The restaurant gets plenty of natural light, so the food pics I took (see my uploads) came out beautiful. Note: we did not try any sushi items. That said, meal timing would have been an issue if we had been in any kind of rush. I think the dishes were so fresh because they make entrees one at a time. My entree came out several minutes before my fiance's did, and the overall pacing was kind of slow. Our drinks, just an iced tea and a diet coke, also took a long time to come, despite there only being 7 customers while we were there. In particular, my fiance ordered an unsweetened iced tea and it didn't come until after we finished our appetizer (a papaya salad we ordered medium hot that was still pretty spicy). It arrived with his entree, and when it did, the server told us they only had sweetened tea available. This was a problem because we are both trying to avoid sugary beverages. We had come for lunch on a weekday because my work computer wasn't working; had it been a regular workday I think the pace of the meal would have been a problem and I would have been antsy to get back to my desk. Another nitpick is that dishes did not come exactly as described on the menu, which can be an issue if you have dietary restrictions. My fried rice was described as coming with peas, but arrived with no peas and containing broccoli, which I can't digest, so despite it being pretty and adding value, I had to pick it out. Likewise, there were two papaya salads on the menu, one that clearly stated it contained fish and one that didn't, so we were surprised when we ordered the one that didn't mention fish and there were shrimp in it. This would have been an issue if either of us was vegetarian. To be fair, there were definitely vegetarian options on the menu. Basically, this is a cute little neighborhood place with fresh flavorful food with good value. It is very chill. Definitely come if you're in Cherrydale and you are eating by yourself or with just a friend or two, and you're all feeling relaxed and have nowhere to be. I would pass if you're taking your lunch break from work or are otherwise in a rush, if you have a large group, or if your party has complicated dietary restrictions.

This place has the best Thai food around! Though the restaurant is a bit small, they offer delicious bakery treats and authentic Thai desserts. I can't recommend it highly enough--it's my go-to spot for Thai cuisine!

Food is good and savory. A small warm place to have dinner, or a date, good and friendly service. Reccomend to try the cocktail, it is not too sweet, and delicious. Wish the food was spicier that is my complain.

Stopped in for a quick lunch while out running errands and I am so glad I did! Food and drink are delicious and pair well together, staff is incredibly friendly and you can tell the whole team puts a lot of care into the establishment. Can't wait to come back for their happy hour!

This place was awesome. I saw it recommended on Reddit so we ordered delivery on a Friday night…read more Delivery was only $2 (+tip) and they don't upcharge the prices because they don't go through a delivery service. The only downside is you can't see the delivery progress but I felt like a kid again where you had no idea when the food would show up and you'd just sit there watching the window (it took an hour at peak Friday night). The pad Thai was delicious, not super sweet like some places make it. The crispy squid basil was also excellent, and they cut a couple small holes in the container so it was still crispy when it got to us. The prices were very reasonable as well. I think we found our new Thai place in Arlington!

I'll be honest, I also felt at first that our server wasn't friendly. The food completely made up for her lack of customer service. We ordered the catfish as well as the boat noodle soup. Both had the most amazing flavor and did not take long to come out. I also noticed that once we engaged our waitress in more questions and conversation, that she is just a more reserved person and not unfriendly. The decor inside wasn't anything outstanding but I truly didn't care with how amazing the food was. This was the best boat noodle soup in northern va that I have tried.

Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum and the Pad Thai Mun Goong. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. All-in-all, I was well pleased this visit. As this is Padaek's second location, I hope they don't expand too much further/quickly and compromise on quality.

They had a band and singers and folks were up dancing. We found out this is an annual thing and not something regular. We didn't realized they closed at 9pm so felt a little rushed. My friend and I shared the Pad See Ew with beef and the Pla Makham. Both dishes were so good and packed with flavor. We saw some good looking dishes being delivered to other tables and can't wait to return to try them.

I wouldn't say the inside gives off a Thai restaurant, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. For starters, we ordered the duck wrap and the papaya salad. The duck wrap was interesting, but not sure if it was in the good way. The wrap tasted buttery, which was a little different than what I have had before, and the duck didn't really taste like duck and there wasn't much of it. The papaya salad was fine, but not the best I have had. It was a little bit spicy. For the main dish, I ordered the hang-over noodle (Khee Mao), which was I think their version of drunken noodles. I thought it was good, but it was definitely too spicy for my liking but that is my bad for not asking for a lower spice level. The noodles had a nice texture. I wouldn't say this is the best Thai place in NOVA, but I thought it was alright.
