This is a great place to try. My wife always asks to go back. There's street parking and a parking lot so not too much trouble. It's a cafe-style place but very comfortable inside. And service is great. I had the spicy chicken fried rice, which was delicious. My wife had the red curry. Also great. I worked at a Thai restaurant as a teenager with a cook from Thailand so I've always been a bit picky on how I want the food to taste. Sure there were some variations but you also look for the same flavors when you have a Thai craving. ***this place hit the spot*** HIGHLY REDOMMEND!! We got the Tom Yum Shrimp soup, chicken red curry and chicken pad prik preo (cant remember the exact spelling) but all deliciously. I was nearby and grabbed some takeout and I have to say I was kind of disappointed. I had my go to pad see ew with beef and then I also got the red curry with chicken. First the spice levels are a little annoying because they have mild and then hot. I got hot for the noodles because I didn't want mild but it was pretty hot. I would have really enjoyed a medium spice level. For the curry I just stuck with the mild and it of course didn't have enough spice. I liked the curry better than the pad see ew but it had a little too much fish sauce. The pad see ew was kind of bland besides the spiciness. There wasn't enough sauce and the beef didn't have much flavor. Also not a lot of egg. I ended up adding some to my leftovers. I went inside to place my order because if you try to order lunch online it has dinner prices. I mentioned it to the waitress and she just said you can't order lunch online. Just a note if you want the smaller portion but I don't think I'll be back any time soon. read more

We did takeout last night -- and as always, the order was perfect... always ready on time and nothing is ever forgotten. Thai Noy is absolutely delicious. The restaurant is clean, employees are friendly and the food is tasty. While the restaurant wasn't full, customers were entering every few minutes to pick up a takeout order. The kitchen was incredibly busy so it did take some time to get our food. The curry puffs were good but not great. The puff pastry was piping hot but the filling was lukewarm which made it a little less satisfying. We have ordered these before and didn't have the same problem so it could have been a one off. My drunken noodles were perfect and just as delicious as expected. My husband ordered the massaman curry without vegetables. He thought the curry looked extremely thin, but still enjoyed it. Overall we both enjoyed our meals and will be back as Thai Noy is one of our top three favorite Thai restaurants. read more

Portion size and ratio of ingredients we're good but quality of ingredients is why this review is 3 stars. As you can see in the picture, the veggies used in the salad and seafood dish were on the bad side such as the lettuce and broccoli. The seafood (squid) tasted frozen and was very chewy (overcooked). My wife ordered the Drunken Noodle in which the flat noodle was overcooked and broke too easily. It wasn't too busy the day we ate here around 5:30pm as there was only 1 other table and 1 person waiting for their to go order. I had heard so many great things about this place, but i was very disappointed. I have had drunken noodles many times in the past of varying quality but I couldn't believe how old and tough the noodles were. The chicken was tough, too. The other main dishes had great spice but both the beef in the masaman curry and shrimp in the green curry were terribly overcooked. It wasn't cheap, either. It's better to go further away to somewhere like Rosslyn's Sawadi restaurant or to S. Arl on Columbia Pike. read more

Seems my review was recently removed to keep the ratings up... There were a few duck dishes I was considering and I asked the owner if she thought any of them were crispy. She indicated the Duck Kapao was the crispiest, so I ordered it. Sadly, it was gooey, and so fatty I couldn't eat it. I asked the owner if she could exchange that dish for something else and she said no problem. Then when she brought me my bill, she charged me full price for both dishes which I thought might have been a billing error. So I politely asked if she could adjust the bill and she indicated that the 'kitchen could not pay for the meal, and neither could she.' I found her response quite shocking. I won't be back due to the lack of the quality of Thai Noy's food, BUT also left this review due to the lack of customer service I encountered. Awful and the chicken isn't fresh, they will force you to pay for something after getting your order wrong. That's bad for business when someone doesn't serve fresh food then refuses to not take it off your bill when you never ate it. Don't order chicken here or anything for that matter. Stick with your Thai places that you know you to be good, clean, and fresh- not this place. The smell alone will make you sick. read more

Everyone in my family enjoys this restaurant. Our favorite dishes are the tom khar gai, fresh spring rolls, and Mekong Chicken. We have been going here for a decade and probably order here every other week. This is one of the few Thai restaurants where you can get them to modify your spice levels and they pay attention to you what you want. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. So disappointed in this restaurant today. We have been going here for 17 years...we felt like they were family. We literally cried when Kot the owner died in 2017. And now it's just changed. As life does I guess. But tonight after placing our usual $130 order we waited 40 minutes....and when we went to pick it up, they have no record of it. That happens I guess....but no real concern or apology for ruining our Friday night. this is not Kot's restaurant anymore. A first world problem, I know. BEWARE! This place does not welcome brown people. I wish I read the other reviews from brown people before coming here. They're really not exaggerating! The first and only time my mother and I ate at this restaurant, we were ignored when we were trying to ask a question about the menu items to the cashier at the front desk. And I know we were ignored because as soon as a white woman came from behind us to ask the same woman a question about the menu, the cashier answered her! I wanted to give the cashier the benefit of the doubt that maybe she just couldn't hear me correctly, even though I asked her multiple times and she would look at me but not answer me. So I just told her what my mother and I would like to order. She did not say anything at all. No words. She just punched in the order in the register, reached her hand out for my card, processed the payment, and gave the card back. We got our receipt and stood to the side waiting for our order. Then the white woman ordered. Her personality totally changed! She thanked the woman for her business. Then, when we went to our table outside in the patio to wait for our food. Our food came to us around 30 minutes later. In the meantime, the white family next to us got multiple visits by the male waiter who asked them if they'd like more water and anything else to order. I still did not complain and we continued waiting for our food. Finally, the male waiter brought our food. No napkins, no spoons, no forks, no glasses, and no water. I thought maybe he'll bring them later because his hands are full at the moment. However, he walked back to get a pitcher of water and went to the white family next to us to offer them more water. I walked up to him and requested water, napkins, spoons, forks, and glasses for water. Only then did we receive anything. I don't understand why these people were treating us this way. I love Thai food and I am SUPER picky about my pad see ew... I've only found one other place in NoVa so far that has good pad see ew, and this place definitely tops it! My boyfriend's workplace ordered lunch here today and he got the pad see ew with chicken so I could have it, lol. He loved it and I do too! I obviously had to have mine as heated up leftovers rather than fresh like he got to have it, but it still did not disappoint. I hope to visit this establishment soon - definitely impressed! I know the owner. Just as well as the food is good here so is the family they are very nice family. I got the chicken coconut soup dumplings and Penang curry. All were delicious. But my problem is I don't come here enough. I go to other places however I should start patronizing this business a little bit more than I should. I've gotten other stuff here as well duck podpong which is a cold hot spicy duck salad delicious. I've had satay from here. Everybody in Arlington seems to like this place. I love Thai food. Having said that, I usually order Pad Se Ew to gauge how I like a particular restaurant. I found myself in a quaint little strip mall - I say quaint because they have a Lost Dog Cafe and a a Stray Cat Cafe. I love animals so that's what caught my eye initially. I wasn't in the mood for pizza or burgers, so I spied Thai Noy. I looked at their menu posted in the window and wandered inside. Instantly, I was transported to Bangkok due to the lush Thai decor and atmosphere. They close at 3pm on Saturdays, but I ordered my Pad Se Ew with chicken - expecting the meal to be rushed and bland. NOPE... The food was utterly delicious. Some of the best I have eaten actually. The chicken was fresh and juicy - it's usually dry at other Thai places. In fact, the food was so good, I brought some home so my girlfriend could sample it. She loved it. My server explained that as long as my food was ordered before they close the kitchen, customers can take their time finishing their meal and that put me at ease. They also have seating on an exterior deck in front. Would have been pleasant if not for the humidity that day. One thing I don't like: ordering a soda at a restaurant and they bring it to you in a can. While that may be fresh, I find it tacky and not cost-effective because you'll be charged for a "refill" - unlike free refills at a restaurant that has a fountain dispenser. Perhaps they should get one of those automated dispensers that offers a wide variety of beverages from one machine. Also, parking can be tough due to the popularity of the shops and the small lot. Though there are some street parking available. The soda issue aside, this place makes some delicious food and I will be back for sure. read more

We had high hopes for this place. We have heard wonderful things regarding the food. Arrived on a Monday night and sat outside on the patio. We were the only ones on the deck. We put in our order way before the crowds arrived. For all the ten tables outside there was one server for them all. Apps: pork spring rolls. There were not great. They did not taste fresh and homemade. The veggies in the inside tasted like they were frozen and it was lacking pork. Decent size roll but not impressed. They were definitely store bought egg rolls. Entrees: 1. Pad Sew Ew with chicken and order the medium spicy option. Added American broccoli 2. Drunken noodle with pork and ordered the third option (hottest option) Thoughts on the entrees: 1. My meal was Thai hot. They got my meal and husbands mixed up. It was SO hot, I struggled to eat it. The broccoli was extremely cold. They just threw it on top. It lacked a lot of flavor and the slices of chicken were SO large. 2. This meal came out with chicken and NOT pork and lacked any spice/ basil flavor. Very unimpressed. We waited 45 mins for our entrees. The server checked on us once during the entire visit. When all the meals came out mine came out 5 mins later. So annoyed at this point. We did see other entrees coming out and they looked really good! Unfortunately though, we won't be coming back here. read more

This restaurant only caters to white people and does not like dogs! I called the restaurant before and confirmed that they allow dogs on their outdoor patio. My husband and I tried to go there for dinner recently but after we sat down, we were asked to put our well-trained dog, who was sitting quietly on her mat, outside of the patio. There were only three small tables with customers, including ours, on the patio so it was not busy. Apparently one of the patrons on the patio complained and did not like dogs. My husband and I had brought our dog and eaten there before and never had a problem. Our pup never bothered any of the patrons. This was very bad customer service so we immediately left the restaurant. We were also the only non-white people on the patio. I believe we were discriminated against because the owner is afraid of losing his customer base, which are mostly white due to the area. This is our go to Thai restaurant! We love a good Thai take out and before covid we used to go in person, but right now we are just doing take out. Everything was amazing and wonderful. We got the pad Thai, beef & broccoli & rice + spring rolls. We ate everything! We used to love to go and eat inside at the restaurant because they made you feel so welcome. But one day we will again! I like Thai food and have a place I go to often but was in the area and decided to try it. The garlic chicken tasted like it was cooked or thawed in a microwave very unappetizing. The chicken was hard and had a very awefull taste to it. The vegetables were fresh and good. I was offered another meal or dessert but I couldn't eat anything else there even though I was hungry. I only had a few bites and they didn't even take it off of the bill. I will not go there again. Shame on them. I highly do not recommend them. read more

We order take out from here on a regular basis. On occasion, we'll stop by for a sit-down meal. The service is consistently good. While there aren't lots of vegetarian dishes, Thai Noy is happy to substitute tofu in any of the meat dishes. Their patio area is really pleasant when the weather is nice. I hadn't had Thai food in a while, and I really wanted some drunken noodle, so I checked yelp and one of the first comments was how good their drunken noodle was. Sold! And it did not disappoint. This was some of the best Thai food I've had in while. Its a small restaurant stuck in the same strip shopping plaza as Lost Dog Cafe, but the atmosphere is nice (and I really liked the light fixtures!) All the food was excellent, from the appetizers to all our dishes. I tried some of the Red Curry duck that our friend ordered and it was delicious, and the drunken noodle was fantastic. Food and drinks were slow arriving all night long for our party of 8, but then again it was a busy Saturday night. I tried the seafood drunken noodles, which I requested extra spicy but were brought out mild. A few spoonfuls from the spice tray quickly remedied this but it would have been nice for them to get my order right. Parking lot is tiny but, and if you are eating outside it can provide some entertainment watching soccer moms try to maneuver their ginormous SUV's. Ive been coming here for 10+ years and the quality has never changed! The best place to get Thai food in Arlington hands down. I've tried a majority of other Thai restaurants around here and nothing compares. I usually rotate between pad Thai, drunken noodles and the red curry. The chicken basils also very good.
