This place has been consistently great, and I've never had anything from here that I didn't enjoy. In particular, their currys are great, and I'm a big fan of their Kuay Tiew Koua. Over the years, I've also enjoyed their Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, and Pad See-Ew. And that's just stuff I order. I've also enjoyed whatever I've been able to sneak off of other's plates. There's plenty of parking. The dining room is pleasant. They also make it easy to pick up food and will even deliver withing three miles. I've been going here for about 20 years. That was before I began posting reviews on Yelp, and I just realized I hadn't reviewed it until now. Came on a Saturday night and it was easy to get a table, we didn't need a reservation (though they do take them). Staff was friendly and service was good. We ordered the beef pad see ewe and beef massaman curry. Both were good. The pad see ewe was typical, not remarkable. The portion was large. The massaman curry was the better dish which came with huge pieces of beef that were very tender. The sauce was quite good. Good sized restaurant with tables that can accommodate large groups. The restaurant decor was good - I liked how spacious it was inside. The pad see ew was a bit too salty, but good. The cashew chicken was bland and dry. The eggplant stir fry was good. The pad thai was veryyy saucy and too sweet for me. The best dish was the crispy duck basil. It was so light, crisp, and spicy. Yum! The Thai iced coffee was also amazing and sweet. I don't recommend this place, but it was good for a quick pit stop to satiate our hunger. I was led to believe this place would be good and I love Thai food; however, I was very disappointed. The flavors were completely lacking and nothing was reminiscent of Thai food. We started off with fresh summer rolls (one of my wife's favorites) and basically got a rolled up salad. Yes, I know what summer rolls are but these had zero flavor. The dipping sauce was basically peanut butter in a bowl, and had no flavor. Even the angle they were cut made them difficult to eat. Laughingly, the menu showed beef massaman curry as a "must try", but I would have to pass if I ever went back (I won't). My wife ordered the crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli and, like my dish, did not care for it. Probably the one positive was my lemonade wasn't too bad. Service could improve as well. My wife and I were one of the few customers yet the never checked on us, so even getting the bill was hard to do. Best crispy duck basil I've ever had. Great balance of sweet and spicy and the crunchiest, lightest batter. The spring rolls were piping hot and the dipping sauce was a little different than what I've had before but it was delish. We used like coming here. Today we ordered fried calamari and crispy duck. The calamari dish was ok, although there was too much of batter. But the crispy duck should be called crispy fried batter. There was no duck at all in some fried batter clumps, and very little or just traces of duck meat in others. Having fried batter for $23 is too much. read more

I found this restaurant on Yelp! Located in a small shopping center in an area I never noticed before. I ordered Larb Kai & Chicken Satay. I loved the chicken satay served with peanut & a cucumber sauce (not sure what it's called). The chicken was juicy & flavorful and I live both of the sauces. Larb Kai is one of my favorites sometimes called Larb Gai at other Thai restaurants. I asked for the hot spices on the side, they served everything as asked. Server was nice, and had great timing. My friend lives nearby so we decided to order take out and try this place. The girl at the counter was rude and impatient. When I changed my mind about an item in less than several seconds, she said "I've already entered it". I asked her " Can you please change it" and she begrudgingly did. It has an extraordinary menu, is able to adjust spicing and accommodate preferences with aplomb, and serves acceptable quantities of food. It is also reasonably priced. I have been to this place off and on since 2010. For years, my experiences have always been great in terms of food quality. I recently went again for dinner thinking that I cant go wrong with Crystal Thai. Oh boy, how I was wrong on that! I ordered Drunken Noodles with beef and it tasted like it was stir fried in rancid oil. It was lacking so much flavor that it tasted like the only thing they put in there was just some soy sauce! A good Thai restaurant but not amazing. The inside of the restaurant is cute and cozy. I've tried most of the staple Thai dishes from here. The appetizer that I liked the most here was the Hae Kuen. I love fried tofu combined with shrimp and pork. A lot of Thai places don't have it on their menu.   I wasn't impressed by their Chicken Pad Thai. The noodles were overcooked and didn't have a nice bite to them, and the dish was starchy and powdery from the seasoning. I thought that their Beef Drunken Noodles and Chicken Pad See Ew was average.   My favorite entree that I've ordered here was the Pad Krob Kaprow (Crispy Duck Basil). It was flavorful and spicy, and the texture of the crispy duck and basil was nice. Be prepared for heat because the dish was really spicy, even for me. My mouth was on fire, and I was tearing up because it was so hot, but I kept going back for more because it tasted so good. read more

We used to get delivery from Crystal Thai a couple times a week when we lived in Arlington in the late 90s, early 00s. It was consistently excellent. With the advent of DoorDash (highly recommended!), I have started getting food from them for lunch at my office in Arlington. It remains some of the best Thai in the DC Metro. We ordered 5 dishes for 5 adults to share m: Pad Thai with chicken- well done Crispy duck with basil- delicious but very spicy Crab fried rice- good size lumps of crab but definitely not cheap Panang chicken- really tasty Pad see ew- good flavors We really liked all of the dishes that we ordered and finished everything! The portions are not large while not being too small. Great food here and fast delivery. I've had the basil fried rice and the Thai sukiyaki (not the same as the Japanese dish of the same name, keep that in mind) and they were both excellent. Keep in mind that if you order it spicy, it will be spicy. That should be obvious but apparently to some people in the reviews here, they don't understand that if you order it mild it will be mild and if you order it spicy it will be spicy. I've ordered from here twice and so far I've liked pretty much all of it: - Beef Massaman Curry - Tofu Pad See-Ew - Chicken Pad Thai - Honey Roasted Duck - Crystal Thai Fried Rice - Khao Niaow Moo Ping - Thai Curry Puffs - Steamed Dumpling - Beef Kuay Tiew Koua - Chicken Panang Curry - Sticky Rice With Thai Custard Most notable were the pad see ew (flavorful but not greasy), the Thai curry puffs (could eat a hundred of those in one sitting), the Penang curry (light and lemongrass-heavy), and the sticky rice with Thai custard (order extra because you're not gonna want to share). I'd get the Penang curry with tofu next time because the chicken was dry. Everything else was good, but the items mentioned above were outstanding to me.
