I went here today for a small dinner and it did not disappoint. I took the time to read their reviews before going and noticed other yelpers commenting about lack of decorations and customer service. I'll be honest, I also felt at first that our server wasn't friendly. The food completely made up for her lack of customer service. We ordered the catfish as well as the boat noodle soup. Both had the most amazing flavor and did not take long to come out. I also noticed that once we engaged our waitress in more questions and conversation, that she is just a more reserved person and not unfriendly. The decor inside wasn't anything outstanding but I truly didn't care with how amazing the food was. This was the best boat noodle soup in northern va that I have tried.

4 stars because I ordered this as pick up / to go. The pad see ew was really good really well cooked and the Thai iced tea was also delicious! Service was pleasant and fast. I collected my lunch order with no problems. Inside looks really cute although it's a small space and I'm open to dining there in the future. Parking was a little difficult.

I went to Thai Square after hearing from a bunch of friends that it was amazing. I've actually been a few times, and overall it's good, which is why I keep going back. But this last visit just wasn't as great as I remembered. Maybe it was just an off day. I usually get the chicken pad thai, and it's really good. It has solid flavor, well cooked, and satisfying. This time though, it just didn't hit the same. Still good, just not that good. I also tried the crispy basil squid because I saw great fan reviews about it, but it ended up being way too salty for me. Overall, I'd still give it a 4. I know they can be really good, so I'm hoping it was just an off night. The service is pretty good and the vibes were pretty satisfying. You definitely need a friend to go with, especially to try everything!

Still one of the best Thai spots in the DMV, hands down. Thai Square is always consistent with both flavor and service--I've never had a bad meal here or noticed any drop in quality. The basil crispy duck is still my go-to: perfectly crispy, sweet, tangy, savory, with just the right hit of basil. I honestly haven't found another Thai place that does it as well. The Pad See Ew is also really good. Their papaya salad is delicious too--you can actually taste the ebi in it, which adds such a nice depth of flavor. I never get tired of recommending this place to anyone.

Excellent! As simple as that. The service was great and the food was spectacular! Not overpriced. Fresh and delicious food. Did not take a lot of pictures because I was just enjoying my food!

Saw this place on instagram. It lived up to the internet hype. Got the crispy honey duck, very good.

06/13 /2026 today I place an order from Thai Square. I always place the same orders 1 Chicken pad Thai 1 drunken noodles. When I got the order I got the drunken noodles n chicken on a stick. I call and talk to the owner he told me that that was my order I said to him I placed one drunken noodles n one pad Thai He couldn't admit his own mistake. I haven't ever placed an order for chicken on a stick. I am attached the photo of what was supposed to be to be the chicken pad Thai

Went here for lunch and had their lunch special! The spring roll was really good, I've never had thin glad noodles in a spring g roll and it was a pleasant surprise. The vegetable soup was delicious and soothing. I did the Pad Thai Jae and it was filling without bloating me! Will definitely be back!

Still small but mighty! The drunken noodles in my last few visits was perfect. The addition of lettuce as part of the dish is a bit odd to me, but the wok essence is simply magical (honestly, I don't mind a bit more greens). The fried chive dumplings and the accompanying sauce on the side are also still excellent, a must-get each time for me. Staff were friendly and my order was accurate. There's some street parking and also a parking garage around the corner on Glebe.

Thai Square never disappoints. The ingredients always taste fresh and the portions are very generous.

Honestly, I read the reviews, but I was not expecting it to be this good. Came here for a mid afternoon date, and we definitely had a great experience. We got the lunch specials. The chicken with the cashew nuts and the beef fried rice. Deets below: Beef fried rice: I'm not going to hold you. I think this might be some of the best fried rice I've had in the DMV. I didn't even have to add spice or soy sauce, but I chose to just because of who I am as a person. The rice was really really good and had enough of a hint of char to really set it off. Chicken with cashew nuts: I'm not typically into this type of dish, but this was delicious. The sauce was so good, especially when you ate it with the white rice. Potstickers: veryyyyy good Thai tea: a bit too sweet for me but very bomb and you can tell they're using high-quality tea. In all, we had a really good experience. Service could DEF be a bit friendlier but honestly, he tended to us when he needed to and the food came out quickly. Win-win. Can't wait to come back Price: we went for the lunch specials. For an appetizer and an entrée, it's only $13.50. This is a steal, considering the fact that the portions are pretty huge. We ended up or also ordering two Thai teas, and an order of potstickers. In total, our bill was under $50.

Decent spot. Lunch with a business partner, and he picked this place. We both love Thai and it is relatively difficult to find one that disappoints so here is where we ended up. Calamari (appetizer) was cut into small rectangles which was a nice deviation from the traditional rings. More substantial bite... And a duck dipping sauce. Very nicely prepared. I took the spicy duck basil entree to go - which came with a side of jasmine rice. I didn't even look at the menu when I sat down because I knew I wanted drunken noodle (which was delish as it is practically everywhere), but I took a look at the menu after ordering my entree and read the description of this duck dish and couldn't resist. I love duck. Thought it would be sauteed or braised. Didn't notice the duck was batter dipped strips and assorted irregular pieces, so apparently I didn't read closely enough. Was deep fried with some basil leaves tossed in - which made it dry/chewy. The duck I don't think was the freshest either. It needed gravy or a sauce, that might have helped. The breading was too heavy so I ended up fixing it up when I got home with some Japanese barbecue sauce, chili oil and sesame oil drizzled. Service was very fast 'n friendly and the ambiance is welcoming. No liquor sold here, just wine, iced tea, and beer - so I had a Sapporo. Street parking was abundant and I got a space right outside the restaurant. Me and my ParkMobile app for the win. This experience overall was mid. No alcohol and average food. Too many really nice Thai restaurants around town so no reason to drop back here.

My friend and I stopped by Thai Square yesterday evening for dinner. I haven't been back for almost five years and remembered that their CRISPY SQUID WITH BASIL is phenomenal. Sadly, we didn't get that this time around, but the one app and one entree we got was still great. GRILLED SLICE FLANK STEAK - 13.50 Good amount of steak and it was seasoned pretty lightly, which I prefer. The steak was tender for the most part (some a bit chewier than others, but no big complaints). There was a nice dipping sauce, too. I'd recommend. PAD SEE EW - 15.95 +0 for chicken, but you'll have to pay additional for more expensive protein like beef, shrimp or seafood. Nothing crazy, but the pad see ew was solid. A bit too oily, but that's what makes it good! A good amount of chicken and Chinese broccoli. The wide flat noodles had a lot of flavor from the sauce and "wok flavor". Overall, good and I'd recommend if you want a basic/simple option. I forgot how tasty and affordable Thai Square is. If I want Thai food that's close by and cheap, Thai Square is a great option.

We always go for their signature basil calamari! The drunken noodles are good although their curries can sometimes be a bit too watery.

Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum and the Pad Thai Mun Goong. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. All-in-all, I was well pleased this visit. As this is Padaek's second location, I hope they don't expand too much further/quickly and compromise on quality.

I wasn't too hungry when coming in for a late lunch so I didn't get big plates. But I can 100% vouch for everything I ate. The Tom Kha was some of the best I have ever had! A slightly mild soup with chicken and coconut flavors (yummmm). I also ordered the mussels (I did not expect them to come in a broth since the menu says they are steamed) but they were surprisingly spicy and delicious. It came with some housemade chili sauce that was even spicier! There were like 7 mussels. Even though it was so spicy, the flavors were delicious so I bared through the spicy sauce. I ordered jasmine tea and it came as a packet of the jasmine tea with hot water. I would've loved it to be brewed loose leaf but that's ok. Overall, this place was delicious, and it was so cute! The country curry was by far my favorite thing and tasted very, very good. Nice and savory, well spiced, and had a ton of aromatics to brighten up the entire dish. There was also a lot of vegetable vegetables, mixed in to brighten up the entire dish. The curry reminded me of a good khao soi with a little more sweetness. Regardless, it was super super enjoyable. I also loved the pad as well; the sauce was thick and coated all the vegetables nicely with this light savory flavor; if I had to describe what it taste similar to most, it taste similar to those crispy noodles you get at Chinese restaurant coded with a little bit of thick gravy. This one was better though and again I love the vegetables that were served with it. The presentation was beautiful when it came out and the service we had was very good.
