    Pad Thai

This place is very solid. They have a really good lunch deal for $13.99 which includes a main entree, soup, and veggie/meat spring roll. The calamari app was delicious. I got my pad thai the spiciest it could be and it was very good. My only complaint is the type of noodle used, I like a thicker pad Thai noodle rather than the skinny ones because it absorbs more of the sauce. We also got a spicy tuna roll which was very good as well

It was a quiet night.... It was.... Thanksgiving! I wasn't invited anywhere. Maybe because I am not a nice human being? Maybe because all of my friends were out of town with their partner? I will let you figure out the reason. I was hungry and I wanted soup. After looking at tons of places that were closed I ran into Thai Select. I ordered Tom Yum Soup, Glass noodles, green curry and papaya salad. The food was ready before the time that was given. The packaging of the food was 100/100. No spills! I came home and instantly unpacked the food. Everything was warm and even in the containers the presentation of the food looked amazing. Why would a restaurant make their food look pretty for takeout? No idea but definitely points to Thai Select. Tom Yum soup tasted wonderful. Glass noodles, I couldn't get enough of them. Green curry was aromatic and therapeutic. Papaya salad was my dessert but is technically not a dessert. #Health All in all this felt like someone packed food for me to go on thanksgiving. Thai Select didn't have to go this had but it did... for me. For that Thai Select has my gratitude. 4.9/5 definitely recommend! They have a cute sitting space as well jbtw in case you are in the mood to dine in.

Coming back from being out all day, my family and I were definitely ready for something quick to eat for dinner. We found this Thai place that had a very lengthy menu for the whole family to find something they wanted. They were pretty busy with takeout and dine in that it took awhile for service, but it was worth the wait. I was able so I get a bento box for a good deal that included rolls, seaweed salad, chicken dumplings, and edamame. I shared my meal with my mom. My older brother got the same dish and loved it. My mom got the duck curry that surprised her with all the heat (which she loves)! They tried the curry puff app. They said it tasted just like a samosa. Look no further if you're craving pad thai, sushi, curry of any sort, and fried rice. The menu is extensive to meet anyone's needs!

A good spot to satisfy your Thai cravings! Fast service and good daily specials, making it perfect for a workday lunch. Tried their drunken noodles, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, poke bowl, and curry - everyone was happy with their meal! Cute decorations inside, friendly staff, and fair prices. Will definitely keep coming back!

This was not my first time at Thai select and it certainly will not be my last. Grabbing a quick takeout order today of pad Thai tofu and crab rangoons, I was very happy with the speed of preparation of the order and the overall flavor of each dish. Fresh and lovely by all counts. The staff are wonderful and helpful even if you're only coming in to pickup an order. The restaurant is comfortable and well located, I've enjoyed my meals eaten on location in the past.

We ordered to go. Pad Thai is very tasteless. The food is so sad. No utensil or any side spice for us to add on. We also ordered sweet rice with mango for $10. It comes in a really small portion, 2 bites of sweet rice and 5 slices of mango.

I got the beef pad see ew thai hot and it was hotter this time. Also the food was bland and used regular broccoli. The beef was not really that good so I would not get the dish again.

Thai Select in Rosslyn is a hidden gem with a cozy vibe and an impressive menu. The sushi was surprisingly amazing, and I loved the papaya salad, summer rolls, and tom kha soup. Their dinner combo option is such a great deal -- I got to try both the pad Thai and drunken noodles in one meal! And don't skip dessert -- the crepes are massive and totally worth it if you're in the mood to treat yourself. The only thing I wouldn't really recommend on the menu is the crying tiger steak.

Soup and dumplings. Very tasty soup.

Stopped here for their lunch special. Got the eggplant and tofu and the green chicken curry. Both were yummy. Also came with soup and veggie dumplings or a spring roll for $12.99. We will be back to try more.

Got the Drunken Noodles with chicken this time. Very good lunch special! Service was quick and still quite busy even after 12:30pm. The staff is efficient and lots of delivery orders going out as we waited. I like the ambiance so next time I will enjoy a moment to sit down and have lunch on my next visit.

    Pad Thai (lunch menu)

I ordered take-out and my order was done fast. I got the lunch pad thai, panang curry and thai select wing. Lunch pad thai portion size was decent but the panang curry was small. Flavorwise, both dishes were pretty good. I got thai hot for both and my idea of "thai hot" is much hotter, maybe I'll try the super hot next time. My only complaint were the thai select wings. Wings were a bit dry and I wish there were more flavor. Some of the wings were TINY, not worth the price. Small parking lot. I would rate it a 3.75/4, rounding up to 4/5.

Lunch set $12.99 per person Tasty!

It's a lovely thing to wander through before heading in to eat just a few feet away. The setting itself doesn't feel like Washington at all. With the charming little patio and relaxed vibe, you could imagine you're in another country, and it strikes a wonderful balance between easygoing and sophisticated. Little touches go a long way for me, and they nailed them here: silverware with the lovely illusion of polished silver and elevated stemware that added an extra bit of vibe to the whole experience. The staff were wonderfully accommodating from the start: everything was still soaked from the heavy rain the night before, but they went out of their way to set us up in a lovely shaded spot so we'd stay cool and comfortable. That same care showed up in a much bigger way later, when one of our party passed out from a health issue unrelated to the meal, and the team handled it with calm, attentiveness, and real heart. Now, the food. The brunch menu hits all the classics, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict with fun variations featuring crab and smoked fish, all the good stuff. I settled on the lobster roll, which was incredibly good, served with Old Bay fries that came out perfectly hot and crisp, exactly the way fries should always arrive, with ketchup on the side. We also tried the tuna tartare and the buffalo oysters, which were a blast: fried oysters with a blue cheese dressing and hot sauce, served in the cutest presentation in shells on smooth lake pebbles. On the drinks side, I had a "Bloody Margaret," a gin-based riff on a Bloody Mary, and it was wonderfully spicy, just the way I like it. The cocktail list overall is playful and worth exploring. Oysters are clearly one of their fortes. They focus on Virginia oysters, so it's a single variety, but they do a lot with it across a range of preparations. There's also a fun Virginia peanut-centric theme running through the menu.

It is pricey, lucky for me it was my birthday and I could simply enjoy myself. My cocktail was exquisite, forgot what it was called but reminded me of a pina colada, but not as thick. The flavor and the freshness of the Whole fried fish, with fragrant herbs, tamarind and lime dressing was good. The Parker House Rolls were fluffy, but nothing I would put on the highly recommended list. Our waiter was very kind and personable. Other than that, I'm not sure if I would come back. Most people enjoy Caribbean style restaurants that master various fish for a fraction of the price and more food. While the "more food part" may be considered low- brow, I'm sure I am saying what many are thinking.

Each of these sorts of restaurants has a place in the spectrum. Our waiter - Keith or Kevin - I'm so sorry but I cannot remember his name - was GREAT! Funny, good at his job, great personality and helpful. He started out with a corny, but cute, joke and he kept getting better all night. The manager too was quite good, professional and friendly. The restaurant has a huge patio, and they were even adding extra tables outside the enclosed patio to accommodate the weekend crowd. Inside, there's a bar with a few two-top tables, while the main dining room is a bit smaller and can feel cramped when it's busy. Downstairs you'll find additional seating, the restrooms, and even a few pinball machines. The drink menu is impressive, with a wide selection of cocktails, plenty of draft and bottled beers, plus pitchers and beer buckets if you're with a group. If you're coming for the blue crabs, plan ahead--they take about 45 minutes to cook. We ordered a dozen oysters while we waited for our dozen XL crabs, and it was the perfect appetizer. I loved that you can mix and match oysters by the half dozen to try different varieties with varying sizes and salinity. They were incredibly fresh and flavorful, needing nothing more than a squeeze of lemon or a little cocktail sauce. Between the dozen oysters and the dozen XL crabs, it was more than enough food for two people. Service was fantastic despite how busy they were. Yesica checked on us throughout the meal and even stopped by because she thought our oysters hadn't arrived--we had already devoured them! The rest of the staff was equally impressive, constantly clearing and resetting tables to keep everything moving smoothly. Just be aware that Quarterdeck automatically adds a 20% gratuity to the bill. Overall, this was an outstanding experience. Great seafood, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. This visit, I got there around 7p and was told they weren't accepting any more walk-ins for the day. Luckily, I was able to secure a spot at the bar. Note: I really do think Quarterdeck needs to work on their service staff training. I'm not saying something bad but the staff visibly need work. Just an example: I came into the bar area and asked a patron if the open seat was taken. The bartender responded telling me that it was taken. I noticed him half glance down the bar (at an open seat) but he didn't say anything. I also watched him see me walk near the open seat to peek at if anyone was sitting there & he still didn't say a word, knowing I was looking for a seat. I then asked the people nearby if the seat was taken but I just feel like if you inserted yourself to inform me that the one seat was taken, you could have advised me that the other seat was open instead of watching me go through the motions. Additionally, not sure if the lady bartender was overwhelmed or what but I was for sure not feeling that vibe. So just little things like that when considering customers in a service environment. Crabs - XL Crab stuffed mushrooms The mushrooms were decent but they just need a liiiiiittle more seasoning in the mix and they'd exceed expectations. Now, I've always enjoyed Quarterdeck because the crabs are usually consistently good, which is why this experience was so disappointing. The experience itself wasn't the problem. It was the after effect. The crabs themselves were great but the butter was questionable. It seemed more of an oil-based concoction rather than just real melted butter. Unfortunately, after eating, I became pretty sick. Had me running straight to the toilet. I can't say for certain what caused it, but the "butter" was the only thing that stood out. So I'm 99.9% confident that was the culprit. I hope the restaurant takes a look at it because I do really like QD and I don't want other people running to the toilet like I was from something I wasn't supposed to consume. I'm leaving this review because I know how good this place can be, and I'd love to see them get back to the quality that made me a repeat customer in the first place.
