The staff are extremely nice and patient as you decide what to get (trust me, everything is good so it will take a second to decide.) You order and pay at the counter before receiving your meal, which worked for me since I was taking it to go. They packed it up really nicely and I had myself a little picnic to take advantage of the good weather we've been having. The kimbap was huge and every ingredient was fresh - no dried out rolls here! For this casual Korean restaurant, you order and pay first and they have a self service bar with miso soup and several sides (kimchee, bok choy, radish, broccoli) when dining in. Their tipping option on the credit card machine was very reasonable. I came around 7 pm and they were busy with take out orders but there were not many diners. I ordered the kimchee soondubu and was offered a feee soda or $1 beer. The person who brought my food apologized for it coming out a little slow but I didn't mind because I was enjoying the sides. I really liked the sweet and spicy wings and would likely get just those next time instead of the mix. My wife ordered the hot stone bowl with spicy chicken. The hot stone bowl definitely lives up to the name. The food stays HOT the whole time. It's important to note that you can only get the hot stone bowl on dine in. I also really liked that dine in had an offer of an optional $1 beer with purchase of an entree when we went. The service was fairly quick considering they only had 3 staff members and it was a busy Saturday night. The wait for food was only like 10-12 mins and it was all made fresh. For fast casual Korean, this place is perfection. I got the hot stone bibimbap with bulgogi. It was an incredible value for the money. I ordered upon entering. After I ordered, I was directed to the back wall to get miso soup and they had banchan you could help yourself to. They had kimchi, bokchoi, broccoli, radishes, teriyaki sauce, gochuchang, and yumyum sauce. The hot stone bibimbap was fantastic. 10 out of 10. Ordered the spicy chicken bibimbap to go, and was upset to find at home that the marinade on the chicken was buffalo sauce. Buffalo sauce! Buffalo sauce has an unmistakable smell and orange-y look. Don't know if they're trying to cut corners, ran out of gochujang or what, but buffalo sauce IMO is gross in a dak galbi bibimbap bowl. Confusingly, Ive looked through others reviews that had chicken bowls, no one's seems to be this orange so seems to be a recent thing. However, I recently was in the mood for Korean food and didn't want to make the treck out west so I decided to dine in for dinner recently and was pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend and I tried their bulgogi bibimbap and fried chicken tender with half soy and half spicy sauce. They have a great self service bar where you can help yourself to miso soup, ban chan, and water. They food was fantastic, vey affordable, and the portions were huge. I got the bulgogi beef over rice which had a really generous portion (as it should be for $18) and came with the beef, rice, and japchae in the bowl. I added a fried egg on top but the egg didn't look freshly made which would be my only complaint. I would definitely go back and try more menu items! Ask for a spicy sauce on top of the bulgogi and it's perfect. I also tried the matcha latte which was interesting because it was extremely creamy, more like a dessert than a typical latte. Delicious, affordable food with fantastic service and a super cute restaurant! The DC / Arlington area is sorely lacking in Korean food, and, since Annandale isn't exactly the most metro-accessible place, I've been feeling deprived of the comforting hug of soondubu jjigae, bibimbap, and all the other Korean classics. But now that I've discovered BIBIMIX, that hole in my life has finally been filled! I've ordered their soondubu jjigae on UberEats an almost embarrassing number of times, but not only is the stew itself delicious, but they do an amazing job packaging it -- the soup is placed in a plastic bowl and then in another plastic bag just in case there are any spills during transit. I admit that it's not the most environmentally friendly, but it is the most logical way to transport a hot soup. If you're able to make your way to BIBIMIX to dine in, though, you (1) avoid all the plastic of the takeout packaging, and (2) you get to enjoy the restaurant's super upbeat energy and the wonderful staff. The staff is super friendly, and I love the K-Pop blasting throughout the store. There's also just something extra homey and comforting about getting to enjoy my soondubu jjigae from a traditional stone bowl with all the banchan on the same tray. All in all, I can't recommend BIBIMIX enough, especially if you're a car-less Korean food fiend like me! Traditional Bibimbab Bowl with Chicken (4/5) - I don't think the flavor profile has as much depth as the bibimbap from a more authentic restaurant like you would find in Annandale, but it wasn't bad for a fast casual spot. The order itself also came with soup and 3 sides which was pretty awesome. Bang for your buck! Bulgogi Kimbap (4/5) - These were huge, but I wish there was more meat vs rice. The flavor was okay, I don't think the veggies were pickled as well as other places. Kimchi Pancake (5/5) - I really liked this, the crust was crispy and the dippy sauce was perfect with it. There seemed to be a new server working and she was easily confused or tripped up while we were ordering. She was a bit confused with how to input our orders on her iPad and almost charged us for double proteins (even though none of us ordered double protein). While waiting, I saw a friend from the gym so there was a quick hello there but coming back to the experience, food was prepared swiftly. Took the food home and started with the Korean Spicy Bowl. The food was fresh, the chicken was delightful and every bite was refreshing. Yes I used the word refreshing which is commonly used for cold sweet eating items. Now came the wings and boy I loved them. They had this layer of crunch and this crunch was different than any other wings I had. I appreciate this. I would conclude it by saying that this place is a must try. The staff is wonderful, very courteous and there was a moment someone from the staff was calling me out but I did not hear this but when I did, I apologized but the guy behind the counter is very sweet and just smiled. They have good packaging and keep the sauces on the side. I keep ordering only the Chinese Flame Bowl, just because there is so much flavor and texture in there. I always mix up the meat. I'll add either spicy chicken or shrimp. The shrimp can be a miss sometimes, like a tad bit overdone. Overall, all the food in the bowl are really fresh. My boyfriend once got shrimp fried rice with an over easy egg, but it was definitely cooked all the way so he couldn't enjoy the yolk with his fried rice. I also got bulgogi kim bap (that was so good, except for the fish skin that was also in it) & vegetable mandu. I spent around $35 for all this food and one milkis (drink). I have ordered delivery from this place through Uber Eats at least 30-40 times now and have never been disappointed. Portions have always been fair, flavor consistent and packaging done well so that food was always well presented and warm. Good Korean delivery food is hard to come by in this area... for some reason. Despite there being so many Koreans living around, other Korean restaurants either charge a ridiculous upcharge for delivery (on top of their already ridiculous prices for Korean food) or just don't delivery past a tiny range. Bibimix has always been a go-to staple in the area for me when it comes to comfort Korean food. I love this place. Their 떡볶이 is always consistently good. read more
