Biibimix is a fast-casual Korean spot in DC that feels so much more welcoming than you might expect from usual fash casual spots! The restaurant was very clean, had plenty of seating, and was quiet enough for an easy conversation. It would be a great option for a casual date or dinner with friends without feeling rushed or overly crowded. SERVICE When we walked in one evening, we were able to independently choose where we wanted to sit and were given menus. We sat down to peruse the menu and when we were ready, we went to the counter to order and pay. The service was kind, warm, and genuinely welcoming! The staff were friendly and understanding about questions on the menu, which made the experience feel comfortable and personal despite the fast-casual format. That level of hospitality can be so hard to find in a metropolitan area, especially at a restaurants that are the fast-casual style (generally running on quotas or something) focused on speed and value. FOOD After we ordered, we were told the food would be delivered to us shortly and that we could welcome ourselves to banchan. I absolutely loved that you can choose your own banchan -- a mix of broccoli, kimchi, crispy crunchy pickeld radish, and more! The self-selection made the meal feel more personal, and the soup as an option was a great addition as well. We ordered the seafood soondubu and the bibimbap bowl with bulgogi. The food came out quickly but tasted fresh and (you can hear the sounds of the kitchen behind the partition!) made to order. The vegetables in the bibimbap were crisp, colorful, and full of flavor, and the bulgogi added a savory sweetness that made the bowl especially satisfying. The amount of seafood was solid and I found the taste pretty solid based on the 10+ spots I've been to ordering the same item. Between the fresh ingredients, generous portions, and affordable prices, Bibimix offers an almost ridiculously good value. It is the kind of meal that leaves you feeling like you got much more than you paid for. I even had food to-go and was super nicely given a box to go! OVERALL Bibimix is an excellent casual dining option in DC. The food is fresh (the rice is made right!) and flavorful, and served quickly, while the prices make it easy to come back regularly. I work near BIBIMIX and one of my coworkers introduced me to this spot for lunch. Great Korean food that is truly worth the price! The staff are extremely nice and patient as you decide what to get (trust me, everything is good so it will take a second to decide.) I usually get the japachae noodles with seasoned chicken and vegetables. All fixings like kimchi, broccoli and sauces are free at the food bar. I ordered the kimchee soondubu and was offered a feee soda or $1 beer. The person who brought my food apologized for it coming out a little slow but I didn't mind because I was enjoying the sides. I really liked the sweet and spicy wings and would likely get just those next time instead of the mix. My wife ordered the hot stone bowl with spicy chicken. The hot stone bowl definitely lives up to the name. The food stays HOT the whole time. It's important to note that you can only get the hot stone bowl on dine in. I also really liked that dine in had an offer of an optional $1 beer with purchase of an entree when we went. The service was fairly quick considering they only had 3 staff members and it was a busy Saturday night. The wait for food was only like 10-12 mins and it was all made fresh. The dining area isn't huge so if you want to dine in, there may or may not be seating. But we will definitely be back due to how good this was. read more

For fast casual Korean, this place is perfection. I got the hot stone bibimbap with bulgogi. It was an incredible value for the money. I ordered upon entering. After I ordered, I was directed to the back wall to get miso soup and they had banchan you could help yourself to. They had kimchi, bokchoi, broccoli, radishes, teriyaki sauce, gochuchang, and yumyum sauce. The hot stone bibimbap was fantastic. 10 out of 10. Don't know if they're trying to cut corners, ran out of gochujang or what, but buffalo sauce IMO is gross in a dak galbi bibimbap bowl. Confusingly, Ive looked through others reviews that had chicken bowls, no one's seems to be this orange so seems to be a recent thing. They have a great self service bar where you can help yourself to miso soup, ban chan, and water. They food was fantastic, vey affordable, and the portions were huge. I got the bulgogi beef over rice which had a really generous portion (as it should be for $18) and came with the beef, rice, and japchae in the bowl. I added a fried egg on top but the egg didn't look freshly made which would be my only complaint. I would definitely go back and try more menu items! Delicious, affordable food with fantastic service and a super cute restaurant! The DC / Arlington area is sorely lacking in Korean food, and, since Annandale isn't exactly the most metro-accessible place, I've been feeling deprived of the comforting hug of soondubu jjigae, bibimbap, and all the other Korean classics. But now that I've discovered BIBIMIX, that hole in my life has finally been filled! I've ordered their soondubu jjigae on UberEats an almost embarrassing number of times, but not only is the stew itself delicious, but they do an amazing job packaging it -- the soup is placed in a plastic bowl and then in another plastic bag just in case there are any spills during transit. I admit that it's not the most environmentally friendly, but it is the most logical way to transport a hot soup. If you're able to make your way to BIBIMIX to dine in, though, you (1) avoid all the plastic of the takeout packaging, and (2) you get to enjoy the restaurant's super upbeat energy and the wonderful staff. The staff is super friendly, and I love the K-Pop blasting throughout the store. There's also just something extra homey and comforting about getting to enjoy my soondubu jjigae from a traditional stone bowl with all the banchan on the same tray. All in all, I can't recommend BIBIMIX enough, especially if you're a car-less Korean food fiend like me! It's quick, tasty, affordable, and all-around a lovely place for a simple weeknight meal. read more

This place saves me every time I want Korean soup. Most of the places where I crave Jjigae are in Annandale or Centreville, but those are kinda far from me. Bibimix has their soup for only $15-16 and that's pretty cheap if you ask me (Korean places nowadays overcharge like craaazy). Now I can't give a perfect score because it's not the best I've ever had in the area, but for the price & convenience, Bibimix is a solid 4 star for me. It's not what I would consider the most authentic Korean food but it definitely hits the spot when you have street food cravings. The kimbap was yummy and the chicken was a surprising win! Headed out for lunch during a break while attending this virtual training. The original agenda was to visit a taco truck and call it a day but I BiBiMix on the way and thought to make a stop here. Ordered Korean Spicy Bowl and Wings. The waiting game began and it was quick. While waiting, I saw a friend from the gym so there was a quick hello there but coming back to the experience, food was prepared swiftly. Took the food home and started with the Korean Spicy Bowl. The food was fresh, the chicken was delightful and every bite was refreshing. Yes I used the word refreshing which is commonly used for cold sweet eating items. Now came the wings and boy I loved them. They had this layer of crunch and this crunch was different than any other wings I had. I appreciate this. I would conclude it by saying that this place is a must try. Traditional Bibimbab Bowl with Chicken (4/5) - I don't think the flavor profile has as much depth as the bibimbap from a more authentic restaurant like you would find in Annandale, but it wasn't bad for a fast casual spot. The order itself also came with soup and 3 sides which was pretty awesome. Bang for your buck! Bulgogi Kimbap (4/5) - These were huge, but I wish there was more meat vs rice. The flavor was okay, I don't think the veggies were pickled as well as other places. Kimchi Pancake (5/5) - I really liked this, the crust was crispy and the dippy sauce was perfect with it. There seemed to be a new server working and she was easily confused or tripped up while we were ordering. She was a bit confused with how to input our orders on her iPad and almost charged us for double proteins (even though none of us ordered double protein). Luckily, a man who I assume is the manager came over to correct it. It looked like she was still learning the system, and wasn't a big deal. I ordered from this place via UberEats. This place is a solid find (I'm sad there are no Bibibops in my area but this will do!) and leaves me satisfied every time. They have good packaging and keep the sauces on the side. I keep ordering only the Chinese Flame Bowl, just because there is so much flavor and texture in there. I always mix up the meat. I'll add either spicy chicken or shrimp. The shrimp can be a miss sometimes, like a tad bit overdone. Overall, all the food in the bowl are really fresh. My boyfriend once got shrimp fried rice with an over easy egg, but it was definitely cooked all the way so he couldn't enjoy the yolk with his fried rice.
