Fresh, friendly, but forgettable. Sometimes the best food finds happen by chance. While indulging in dumplings next door, I noticed a sleek little poke spot--bright, spotless, and promisingly fresh. It had the kind of aesthetic that makes you pause: clean counters, vibrant ingredients on display, and a calm, inviting atmosphere. Naturally, I wandered in. I ordered a three-protein bowl featuring shrimp, ahi tuna, and what they charmingly dubbed "happy salmon." It was visually appealing, neatly assembled, and undoubtedly fresh. But flavor-wise? It hovered in that middle zone of "fine" that neither offends nor excites. It filled the belly, but didn't stir the soul. The setup is solid: diners choose from three rice bases--white, brown, or sushi--along with a variety of leafy greens, crisp vegetables, and a host of toppings to personalize each bowl. The proteins looked fresh, the veggies colorful, and everything was clearly prepared with care. If you're a poke enthusiast who enjoys building your own creation, there's plenty to appreciate here. Service, too, was a standout. The staff offered the kind of attentive, soft-spoken hospitality you'd expect at a small Japanese eatery. It was warm without being pushy, and genuinely welcoming--a quality I always appreciate. Yet, despite the freshness and friendliness, the overall experience didn't leave a lasting impression. This isn't a place I'd drive out of my way for, nor one I'd rush to add into my dining rotation. It's not bad by any means--just not memorable. Would I return if I were already in the neighborhood? Maybe. But more likely, I'd continue the search for something a bit more dynamic. Still, if you're in the area and craving poke, give it a shot. You might enjoy it more than I did. I'll admit--I'm a picky critic, and that's a cross I'm willing to bear. And as Always, enjoy your bite!
Um everything I want in a poke bowl and then some is right here. They give you great sized portions, fresh meat and ample toppings! Service is fast and pleasant and they're in the Ballston quarter mall food court. Very clean spacious area with multiple food options!
Big portions but also more expensive than other locations. But the complaint here is that this is quite possibly one of the worst pokes I've ever eaten. I would much rather walk a few blocks to Poke It Up for poke. My biggest problem is the salmon. I got the soy glazed salmon (or whatever their most popular one is) and while the sauce was fine, I was thrown off by the weird, gummy like texture of the salmon - not sure if this was the result of it being too cold or if it wasn't fresh, but because they were cut into super tiny pieces (about 1 cm cubed), it was hard to get a good gauge. I also tried the spicy salmon, which was... 99% mayo and 1% sriracha. And there was just so much sauce, so it just felt like I was eating salmon drenched with lots and lots of mayo - definitely not it for me. The toppings were OK for the most part. I liked the sweeten/glazed tofu skin strips, seaweed salad, and crab salad. I didn't like the masago or spicy crab salad too much. But overall, the fish quality and flavors will make or break it for me, and I was disappointed with the salmon at Go Poké this past Wednesday for dinner.
Stopped in to check them out for something small, mostly because they have the word "Hawaiian" in their description. Ordered a miso soup, one scoop of rice, and a bottled water. It seems the don't do the Hawaiian "one scoop rice" as I got an entire container. Which would have been ok except the rice was barely cooked. Which means it wasn't really done. It wasn't crunchy but lots of the rice was more than chewy which wasn't that pleasant. They added seaweed, tofu, and green onions to the soup from the bar and it looked terrific. It started like miso soup but even with the adds was bland. The reason it's getting four stars is the food on their bar looks beautiful and fresh. If I still ate seafood I would have been drooling over their options. Also their bowls are huge! I watched them make a few and they do it with precision and care. Everything looked really clean too which is a plus. So although their miso soup and rice was not exciting, the rest of their options looked really good, and due to the other reviews must be. Don't want to knock them for their soup and rice since it may just be my taste buds and preferences.
I don't remember what we put in the bowls but it was delicious! It is in the food court at the bottom floor of the Ballston Mall. There was plenty of spots to find a seat inside and out but it is a bit noisy since it's a mall. It was quick and easy to order food and go. If it wasn't in such a busy area I would go again.
Great new poké spot in the Ballston Quarter! I loved it because you can get unlimited side toppings and you also have the option of half salad and half rice. Their poke selection is great! There were at least 6 types to choose from. I got the spicy tuna and salmon. So fresh and flavorful! It pairs well with their house sauce! All of the toppings are fresh and great additions to your poke bowl! Definitely stop by and support this business!
This is a great, cute, and convenient little spot to get a poke bowl! Although it is a little bit on the pricey side, the food portions are generous. I ordered a regular-sized poke bowl (not a large-sized bowl), and my stomach was still nicely satisfied after my meal! The food was very tasty and fresh, too, although I am not sure what makes their pickled ginger pinkish in color. The staff were very nice as well. For a drink, I got their canned unsweetened green tea, which was nice and refreshing. The only thing I would recommend is to try to use biodegradable plant-based plastic eating utensils in the future if you can. Otherwise, all else was great.
We came to Ballston and my husband was excited to show us all the restaurants, one of which is Go Poke, where he eats fairly often. We got 2 bowls and the Staff was friendly, offering multiple samples as we ordered. The bowls were fresh and the tuna was high quality. Great flavor, nice people. We highly recommend!
We have never had anything but amazing experiences here. It is pretty pricey (they recently increased their prices) but in my opinion, still worth it! It is two meals for me given they are EXTREMELY generous in their toppings. The sushi is normal amounts but they are so kind and not stingy at all. All of the employees are the nicest restaurant employees I have ever interacted with.
I had just moved and hadn't eaten all day when I remembered my girlfriend telling me the portions here were gigantic so I had to go try. The fish tasted fresh and delicious, but what was really wild was how many toppings you can add for FREE. On a regular day this would have been 2 meals but today I couldn't stop eating it.
Friendly staff who let me try the different proteins. High quality ingredients, high quality fish, and lots of toppings to choose from. My favorite topping was the mango. I will be back!!!

Nice poke stand in the Ballsyon quarter food hall. I ordered 3 proteins but a bit disappointed due to the lack of protein option. Everything is either tuna or salmon with or without different seasoning. Other proteins are extra costs. Service was very fast and the staff here are very quick and friendly. Portion sizes are huge so I like that, but food is pretty expensive. It's a casual food hall so a good option if you're on the go. read more
Delicious poke spot located in Ballston Quarter food hall. Their menu options included poke bowl with 2 scoops of protein ($16), 3 scoops of protein ($19), and vegetarian bowl ($13). Tons of protein options! Several different types of salmon and tuna, as well as cooked proteins like eel and beef. I originally thought the price was steep, but you get unlimited toppings in the bowl! I asked for just about everything on top, and it was filled up the brim! Overall great portion size, but keep in mind how much protein you want. The Aloha Tuna (fish sauce, ginger, garlic marinade) was the stand out to me! So flavorful and the tuna melted in your mouth. read more

Portions are AWESOME and I was able to have this regular bowl for dinner while saving some for lunch the next day. I'd never been here before, so staff was really patient and kind as they helped me pick everything for my bowl. I appreciated them letting me sample the different proteins before adding them to my bowl! Everything was fresh with plenty of seasoning. Price matches the quantity and quality pretty well. read more

My favorite poke place because the toppings/add-ins are unlimited! Plus, you can get the poke bowl as a burrito which is so yummy and fun. I am gluten free and the staff is super knowledgeable about what has gluten and they'll suggest fish alternatives (inside scoop: they have plain salmon and tuna available!) that are gluten free. They always give a ton of food, it can be enough for two portions so you get a good bang for your buck. read more

This place is conveniently located inside the Ballston Quarter so is my go-to place for Poke. The staff are very friendly and you hardly have to wait. Maybe it's because I go when it's not prime lunch time but I like the fact that one person stays with your bowl the whole time so that it's easier to pick toppings. read more

All-around super solid poke!!! Nothing remarkably special, but also...you can really never go long with poke so long as the fish and veggies are fresh. The service is wonderful and incredibly speedy, and they give you unlimited toppings, which of course meant that I really piled it all on. I went here once with a friend when we were visiting Ballston Quarter and just searching for a yummy, relatively light meal, and also ordered a bowl on Uber Eats for lunch/dinner a few weeks later. Their large bowl comes with three scoops of fish/whatever protein and can be easily split between two meals. I usually like to get one marinated and one fresh fish, since a fully marinated bowl can end up feeling a bit heavy, so I got their marinated blaze tuna, plain tuna, and plain salmon. I absolutely adore their yuzu dressing, and I think that their house spicy poke dressing is really solid, but can feel a bit heavy, so I'd recommend mixing it with another dressing (like the yuzu one!). I also really appreciated the diversity of base options that they offered -- I got my bowl with a combination of spinach, arugula, and brown rice, and it helped to lighten up the meal a ton. Most other places I go only offer one type of salad (usually just romaine or a spring mix), so I was so happy to see the level of customization that Go Poke offers! read more
Full of flavors and lots of yummy vegetarian options to select from!! I ordered two scoop protein option with sushi rice and it is almost 1.5 times of meal for me. I am surely coming back! The best Poke in the area for vegetarians read more

Came across this place randomly, and no regrets! I got the regular sized bowl with the happy salmon (regular comes with 2 scoops) and let me tell you-- the portion is incredibly large for a "regular" size! Pleasantly surprised; I couldn't even finish it and unfortunately had to give away my leftovers. Service was very friendly, and the whole process went very quickly and smoothly. Totally recommend! read more

This place is excellent. Great value, fresh ingredients and wonderful staff. If sushi and poke bowls are new for you don't feel intimidated. the staff here are friendly and will not only walk you through all the selections but will give you a sample of anything and everything you want. And honestly ordering could not be easier! The fish is all so fresh, as are all of the sides. You get an absolutely massive portion as well. The only real choice to make is 2 or 3 scoops of protein as just about everything else is as much as you would like to put on. I'm a huge fan of the aloha tuna and the spicy tuna. I'll rotate my third choice. Also love that they have really good fresh seaweed. You honestly can't go wrong here. It's one of my favorite places in the area and I have never had a bad meal or experience here. read more

Food is very good, portions generous, but it was the quality service that blew me away. I'm on a temporary restricted diet (no eggs, no wheat) and explained this when I ordered. I also explained that I love all food (blessing and curse!) and that they could use their best judgment for substitutes. My meal was delivered with handwritten notes (pictures) explaining the substitutions. That someone took the time to care means a lot. This is above-and-beyond service. And also, the tuna is especially great...my cat wanted to share. This is the Aloha spirit in action! read more
This is my favorite place in the Ballston mall. I probably get take out from here once a week! The fish is very fresh and is so good. I usually get the spicy tuna/salmon with sushi rice, arugula, cucumbers, carrots, edamame, corn, scallions, wonton chips, and fried onion. For sauces, I get eel sauce and spicy mayo. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi/poké bowls! read more
Ordered Go Poké per my friends raving reviews, and it did NOT disappoint! These bowls are LOADED. The best part of these bowls is you're allowed unlimited toppings, some of which are crab salad, spicy crab salad, seaweed, and seaweed salad for no extra cost! Not to mention, they load on that seaweed salad and as an avid seaweed salad lover this was a HUGE perk! My favorite protein hands down is the spicy salmon. It really has a kick! This will be my go-to poke place now! Constantly craving poke!! read more
