Awesome Friday lunch spot with a unique pour- your own beer tap system. Odd BBQ and Ono Brewing in Chantilly make for a killer combo. They share the same space, and the partnership works perfectly vs the typical brewery and rotating food trucks in my opinion. Our group of 7 rolled in for a Friday lunch and were surprised to see the place already packed by 11am. Ono uses a self-serve tap system where you pay by the ounce, which is a fun and flexible way to sample multiple beers without the commitment of a full pint. As for the BBQ, it was solid across the board. We were told upfront that it could take up to an hour to get our food due to the rush, but thankfully it only took about 20 minutes, under promise over deliver! I went with the smoked pork belly platter, which came with furikake rice and two sides, house-made kimchi and sesame slaw. Everything slapped taste wise, plus with generous portions for $20 I was beyond satisfied. By the end of the meal, it was clear why this place is a local favorite right when the doors open. Deliciousness - 3/5 Ono is a small brewery in a pretty standard setting for these sorts of thing (warehouse chic - I.e., in a big open space with lots of wooden tables). I did like the art and decorations on the wall that reminded me of Hawaii, and they had a nice though small outdoor patio area. The beer was just uniformly all right. We got a number of tasters and I thought the Hefeweisen was by far the best. I didn't end up liking any of their flavored drinks (a berry seltzer and mango beer) and wished the dark beer had more depth and chocolatey undertones. Although I'm always open to taking beer to go, there was nothing so delicious that I felt the need to take some home. It is a self pour system, which is pretty easy to operate and convenient. But if I'm getting the beer myself, I'd think there would be a discount. It didn't seem that way to me, as my final tab was comparable to full-service breweries (or perhaps even more!). read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a fundraiser for Maui. The event was outside and a very nice space. There was plenty of shade in a hot summer day. The system to get a beer was confusing if you don't know it- but once I got it down it was easy. And they were patient in explaining. I loved my Pumpkin Ale. The line for food was long and I was going somewhere else afterward, so I didn't eat. The food looked good and there were plenty of empty plates later. After a wonderful stay at King Spa, we were in the mood for some barbecue and found Ono Brewing Company, which features Odd Barbecue. It did not disappoint! The unique fusion of Korean barbecue flavors with modern American barbecue was a delightful surprise. The spicy pork belly was marinated in a delicious Korean sauce that really enhanced its flavor. The pimento cheese had a kimchi twist and came with a whole sleeve of Ritz crackers, making it the perfect snack. The meat was incredibly flavorful and moist--I wish more places embraced this kind of fusion! The space is split between the brewery and the barbecue area, and their diverse menu is impressive. This was our second time here this week. I love the self-service taps. You can create your own flight or pour a pint. The food is quite good as well. We split a plate of chopped chicken thighs with regular slaw and pickles. I am very picky on my slaw, and this is perfect. Pickles are great too, not sweet but not too sour. We don't live close by but happened to be down here again, and our first thought was dinner at Ono's! The photo of the flight was from our first visit. This time, I poured a pint of the brown ale. This is a great brewery located in chantilly. We stopped by here for dinner one evening as we also wanted to try Odd BBQ which is located within the brewery. My husband I both ordered sours. The system they use is a card that you scan as you pour your own beer. Wish they had a true veggie side (eg spinach, broccoli, etc), but ended up with the ones that had some veggies--potato salad and Mac and carrots. Man oh man this place is truly a hidden gem. My partner, his brother, and I were in the area at the Air and Space museum and wanted to hit a brewery nearby. We wanted to try something new, and with good food. This place nailed it. You come into an office park, turn the corner, and see tiki huts. While this is odd, don't turn around keep going to and don't look back. Enter and give you credit card to the nice lady at the register and pour yourself a flight of beers from the wall of pour spouts. Yes, this is one of those places you pay by the ounce, which I absolutely love. Next, head to the food window and order yourself some smoked pork belly on a cheddar biscuit or the pit beef sando, extra cheese if you must. After you've placed your order, turn to your left and fix itself a few squirts of the various BBQ sauces, all of which are winners (maybe excluding the hoisin curry one, my bf didn't like that one). My favorites were the spicy pineapple, the white sauce, and the mustard sauce. My mouth is watering thinking about this meal. I quite enjoyed my first visit here. Very casual laid-back atmosphere. Staff did a good job explaining how the self-service tap works. Feel free to ask questions- it's definitely not expected for you to know how to use everything your first time. The barbecue is from odd barbecue, and everything I tasted, had more of a Korean flavor as opposed to a southern US barbecue. However, this is just my first visit there so I wasn't able to explore everything on their menu yet. My friend had the chili dog and he said it was just okay. Pro tips: 1) they have a little baskets located on the side of the taps- that you can put the smaller glasses in and make your own tasting flight. 2) the hard tea is so good, especially for someone who may not want beer or if you want to mix things up. 3) get the spicy pork belly! Cool brewery with plenty of parking and lots of seating in an out. It's a self serve tap so you get a card that you place ong the taps and them you cash out at the end depending on how much you poured. We made our own flight and tried the seltzer on tap. We tried the Island Time Coconut Brown Ale, Beach Break Scottish Export, Manako American Wheat with Mango, and the Hula Girl 2021 Berliner Weisse. The Coconut Brown Ale was great and had a decent Coconut flavor. The Scottish Export was a little to heavy for me. I didn't taste too much of the Mango in the Manako and enjoyed the lightness of the Hula Girl. They do serve food on site as well. We enjoyed it here and will probably come back. read more

August 2021 - COVID Review: Can be a bit hard to find at first since it's located in a commercial office space area, but there's a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating available. The self-serving pours is a cool concept! You open up a tab at the register and they give you a card that you'll use to scan and you're charged by the ounce. Visited on a rainy Friday afternoon. As my first visit, I am stuck on a 4 or 5. The self pour taps make sampling quite easy, which is a positive. Location is tucked away, which is also nice.The seating does work for both large and small groups . The food option of barbecue inside really is good. I had an incredible pit beef sandwich. oh yeah, and then there's the beer. Lol. While I personally am not into IPAs, my friends gave good ratings, and I enjoyed a wheat several times. A fun, new concept. You're given a card that you tap to the beer tap. You grab you own glasses. The monitor adds up how many ounces you pour and adds it to your tab. It's like a Dave and Buster's card! Their beers are mostly tropical themed and they have very different beers that you probably haven't tried before. I tried a Banana Hefeweizen and a Chocolate Milk Stout. They paired really well with the food we got from Odd Bbq which is located inside the brewery. We brought our dog. I stopped by Ono because they're one of the few breweries with outdoor space, around Chantilly. They have 5+ picnic tables and a fairly large tent with space heaters. I loved that the tent was open on two sides, which allowed for airflow. Perfect for pandemic weekends! Now for the fun part... I love Ono's concept of serve your own beer. You get a plastic card and scan it in order to get as much beer as you want! They have lots of options that will be sure to make anyone happy! I made my own flight and ended up enjoying all of their stouts, the mango wheat ale, and the coconut seltzer! I even went back for refills on the mango wheat ale! The fruity mango made it incredible and this was the first wheat ale that I've enjoyed! Also, the bbq joint in Ono is delicious. I got the Korean Cuban. It's basically a Cuban, but with kimchi instead of pickles. If you're worried about spice from the kimchi, don't worry. The cheese, bread, and meat, make the sandwich really well balanced! Ono has been one of my favorite spots for a while now. The service is always awesome. They take your order at a window and they're always willing to give their input. The food is made pretty quickly which is great but the taste of it is worth waiting for! We always get two grilled cheeses and split them. Recently they're oven/stove was not working but I think they've fixed it since. It's never too crowded inside, they do have some seating outside which is nice for the warmer months but not as much seating outside as in. I see a lot of work lunches/meeting going on here and you are able to reserve tables/areas for larger parties. 12/10 would recommend for a lowkey eating experience. read more

As a craft beer enthusiast, I love self-serve walls because I'm super indecisive when it comes to selecting 1-2 pints or flights. I especially love when self-serve walls have a lot of beer variety options, allowing for an opportunity to not only try a little of each of my favorite styles (IPAs), but also being able to add some new brew styles (brown ales, hefes, porters, etc) Yay homemade beer flights- In the specific case of ONO's self-serve wall, I love love love when every beer is top quality- Seriously, we tried a wide range of brews (IPAS, coconut brown ales, porters, and hefes) and I rated every beer 4/5stars or 5/5stars- each beer had a unique flavor profile- I could easily do a blind taste test matching unknown beer sips to their listed descriptions because the brewers made bold rich beers. We ended up taking home a mixed four can pack- and wish we lived closer to stock up (super impressive they offer beers to go for $5 a pint!) While drinking, it was fun to sit at a table with a built in mini shuffle board. They also had tvs playing local news, allowing us to learn a bit more about the area- and they had a lot of craft beer literature (magazines & fliers from breweries nearby). It was a very nice vibe.
