Probably 3.5 stars but we'll round up :) I stopped by on a weekday in the early evening. It wasn't busy -- the staff was attentive and the service was prompt. It's a casual spot, very accessible if you're hopping off the metro, and there's plenty of seating indoors. I believe I ordered the Ka Pow Perfect and Drunken Noodle with chicken and they were running a promotion with free spring rolls. The portions were delightfully massive for the price point (I paid $43 including 20% tip). I had some pieces of fried chicken that turned me off the entree, so I'd go for a different protein if I were to try the dish again. It wasn't aggressively spicy so you really don't have to be cautious when choosing the spice level. For the drunken noodles, the sheer (over)size of the noodles made it a bit less enjoyable, but the flavor was great. I think this is a great spot for a convenient and no frills, solid meal.

We only ordered from their Mongolian menu, and they had three dishes available that day. I think their Mongolian food is authentic, and their servers were also Mongolian. If you want to try real Mongolian food in the NOVA/DC area, come here! We ordered their fried dumplings and steamed. Both have meat and onions, but it's mainly meat. I prefer the deep fried one (which is flat and kinda shaped like an empanada). It was delicious! The steamed one tastes similar to traditional Chinese dumplings, but came with sweet cabbage salad in the middle. I think the soup was my favorite. It came with man tou or steamed plain buns. The meat was very tender and the soup was flavorful, especially for someone who doesn't usually like soup. There was a good proportion of veggies vs. meat, unlike the dumplings. For drinks, we ordered milk tea which came with quinoa at the bottom. This is NOT like your traditional Taiwanese milk tea. This tastes mainly like warm milk but also contains black tea. The quinoa at the bottom was a nice treat. For some reason, this drink took the longest to come out. If you want to try something new, I'd recommend getting this. Apparently Mongolians usually put dried meat in this drink, but this place doesn't offer that option.

I discovered this place after parking in front of it to go to Tupelo Honey for brunch. Because it was super crowded, plan B for Buzz Thai Ratery became our choice for lunch, Small, intimate, clean and modern decor with earth tone colors of brown and green caught our attention as soon as we came in. We got a window seat with a table for four. We were greeted right away and given a colorful menu to review. My daughter and I love Thai tea and we enjoyed ours. My husband was happy to see Thai iced coffee as a choice and said it was so good. E started with some soup and appetizers and shared their fried rice with the addition of chicken. The crab Rangoon was my fave but everything was flavorful.

Great food and service! I like that it's a cute little restaurant with reliably great Thai food. My papaya salad and pad Thai were both very flavorful. I have ordered takeout from Buuz Thai and didn't think it was quite as flavorful so I'd recommend dinning in.

I've visited this restaurant many times. There aren't a lot of Mongolian restaurants in this area so that limits one's choices. The food is good. Mongolian food is not a complex cuisine. It's very simple and direct. Salt, pepper, onions and garlic. Buuz Thai does this well but with some caveats. Service: terrible. The waiting staff are rude and don't seem to have a lot of experience. I've experienced this with at least 4 different staff members. Deceptive pricing: Although the pricing issue is a small monetary amount, it is not posted anywhere in the restaurant. All menus available in restaurant do not show the prices they charged me. The wait staff never verbally alerted me of price differences and when I asked to speak with the owner or manager on staff I was told no one was available to speak with me on the matter. I don't expect employees to take accountability but one staff members response was "no one has complained about the prices before". ****important**** Gratuity is meant for tipped employees. The wait staff don't receive any gratuity because the management takes it all. It's my understanding that the wait staff are hourly workers. So please keep in mind if you decide to leave a tip for good service, the person that you intend to tip will not receive it, but it will instead go straight to the management/ownership. DECEPTIVE!!!! I will not return to Buuz Thai ever again.

Pad Thai with Chicken - a simple yet tasty option

A good neighborhood Thai restaurant for both takeout and in-store dining, with several classic options across the menu. -- After a long week, my significant other and I came here for a nice, simple dinner for two. We have ordered DoorDash from here a few times prior, and always had solid experiences, but never dined in before. Most of the business they receive does appear to be takeout and delivery, and there were a lot of people coming in and out. There were still a few parties seated in the small eating area, both families and couples, and the tables and interior was certainly more than nice enough. Our service was friendly and prompt, and easy to get ahold of even though she was also running takeout orders. While the menu was expansive, we kept it simple and ordered off the Thai menu. We had Chicken Spring Rolls for the table, and I ordered for myself Chicken Pad Thai and Spring Rolls (my significant other ordered Curry). The food came out fast. The Spring Rolls were first - they were very simple, yet good. The Pad Thai was a sizable portion, and was everything I needed and dreamed of after a long week. I would have ideally liked it to be a bit spicier and pack a bit more of a punch flavor wise, but I also knew what to expect ordering one of the more 'common' dishes on the menu. Overall a very good experience, and a restaurant I am happy to continue to support both in person and for takeout. In the future, I would be very curious to try their Mongolian Menu, or the additional entrees off the Thai menu.

Buuz is our go local Thai place. My husband and I frequently come here or order take out. This is a family business and they are so kind! We are happy to support by eating their delicious food. Dishes are fresh, cooked well, and have great portions.

Casual spot for Thai food along one of the main streets in Rosslyn. No frills place, from the decor to the service, and solid food. I went with a group of seven co-workers and, although they do not take reservations, we had no trouble getting a table around lunch time. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal! I got an appetizer order of crispy spring rolls, which came out hot and were pretty large. I also got a green curry with tofu. The curry sauce was delicious (flavorful but not too spicy) and there was quite a bit of tofu. The veggies were a bit light and it came with a huge bowl of rice, so perhaps I'd swap some rice for more veggies, but otherwise a very nice lunch.

This place is great. Walk-in and takeout welcome. No reservations needed. The parking situation is tricky, though. It might take you some time to find a spot. It is located on a busy street. The food here is great. You need to ask for the Mongolian menu, as they most likely won't give it to you straight away. I would highly recommend basically everything on that list. The buuz (similar to dumplings) is great, the khuitsai (beef vegetable soup) is amazing, the tsuivan (I don't have anything to compare this to, just try it) is very yummy, the khuushuur (meat pockets? Somewhat similar to buuz but deep fried) is very delicious, and the banshtai tsai (little buuz with milk tea) is awesome. The service is great as well. The Thai menu is pretty good too. Chow foon was great! Overall, this place is amazing. Only authentic Mongolian cuisine (and no, Mongolian BBQ is not authentic Mongolian) in DMV.

The only downside is you can't see the delivery progress but I felt like a kid again where you had no idea when the food would show up and you'd just sit there watching the window (it took an hour at peak Friday night). The pad Thai was delicious, not super sweet like some places make it. The crispy squid basil was also excellent, and they cut a couple small holes in the container so it was still crispy when it got to us. The prices were very reasonable as well. I'll be honest, I also felt at first that our server wasn't friendly. The food completely made up for her lack of customer service. We ordered the catfish as well as the boat noodle soup. Both had the most amazing flavor and did not take long to come out. I also noticed that once we engaged our waitress in more questions and conversation, that she is just a more reserved person and not unfriendly. The decor inside wasn't anything outstanding but I truly didn't care with how amazing the food was. This was the best boat noodle soup in northern va that I have tried.

Took an extended walk a few weeks ago to check this place out before getting groceries, as it's…read moresupposedly some of the best Thai in South Arlington and had to verify that. Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum and the Pad Thai Mun Goong. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. All-in-all, I was well pleased this visit. As this is Padaek's second location, I hope they don't expand too much further/quickly and compromise on quality.

Forgot a couple things at one point (sauces), but that's never a huge deal to me if I don't have to wait too long. Now for the food: It's a solid MEH for me. I ordered the kratiem prik Thai (garlic peppery), which comes with rice. This is my favorite Thai dish, which normally tells me all I need to know about a place. Got the lunch special at $14.95, which includes a spring roll. Paid $4 extra for Tom Yum, too. Garlic peppery: NOPE! It wasn't bad but the rice was overcooked and the dish, itself, was lacking flavor. I'm used to this dish being very flavorful and, dare I say, garlicky? This was neither. Added soy sauce and chili and it was still under seasoned/flavored. And at $14.95, which was only like 1-2 bucks less than the full entree price, I was not impressed. Tom Yum: lots of chicken but not as much flavor as I'm used to. There are better Tom Yuma in the area for sure. Spring roll: basic. Could've passed on it altogether. They put the sauce on it instead of serving on the side, too, in case that's not your thing. Thai tea: $5 but pass. The cup was so full of ice and the tea itself tasted like sweet orange milk with a hint of Thai tea. Decor: very cute and they have a patio! The floral decor was cute and clean. Mango mojito: $16. Yikes. These are almost city prices and it wasn't strong lol In all, not a bad experience but not an impressive one. Definitely wouldn't go out of my way for it. Not worth the $35 I ended up paying for it (this is for everything listed above except the mojito).
