We came here to celebrate Friday! We both ordered a platter of spicy California rolls, caterpillar rolls, and immigration crab salad. It was prepared by the sushi chef moments after we placed the order on their kiosk. There was only one guy who took our order, and prepared the sushi. Like the name implies, this place is designed to take everything to go. There are no tables or chairs to speak of. So I think it is more geared for office workers who can bring their sushi back to work. The chef spared no expense when it came to the preparation of our sushi. We just wish we had a place to take it because it was raining outside. read more

I've ordered from here 5 - 6 times. The prices are fabulous, the owner is friendly, and they work quickly and efficiently. I would recommend this place it it were not for the filler added to the rolls. I ordered a yellowfish scallion roll and unfortunately found pieces that were obviously not yellowfish. In my opinion, this is not acceptable esp. as it is not advertised. read more

Support small business! By the looks of it, this is a small family run business. Though small, there is some space for dining in. I took my food to go, as I live around the corner. The prices are average, but the real deal is the combo (2 rolls for $16 or 3 for $20-with miso soup added for just $1). There was one employee, I assume the owner, on property. He was business tidying up when I arrived (1hr before closing) but stopped when I placed my order on the kiosk. The sushi was good. The miso was great--though I wish there was more seaweed. Overall, may be my go to sushi stop especially bc of its proximity to me! read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after giving Sushi2Go two chances in the same week, I feel compelled to share my experience. I've eaten here several times in the past and always found the sushi to be enjoyable, which is why this recent decline has been so surprising and disappointing. I'm not sure if the restaurant is under new management or if something has changed behind the scenes, but the quality and presentation have fallen dramatically. My first visit this week was so underwhelming that I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Everyone can have an off day, and I assumed perhaps that was the case. Unfortunately, when I returned today, the sushi was just as disappointing--if not worse. The rolls looked carelessly assembled, as though fish and imitation crab had simply been tossed on top without any attention to detail or pride in the finished product. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case, I have two pictures that tell the story better than I ever could. The sushi looked unappetizing, sloppy, and nothing like what I had come to expect from this restaurant. What makes this especially frustrating is that I know Sushi2Go is capable of doing better because I've experienced better from them in the past. Sadly, after two consecutive disappointing visits, I've lost confidence in the consistency and quality of the food. I genuinely hate writing reviews like this, but customers deserve to know what they're paying for. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more

Grabbed a salmon avocado roll on my way home just to try this place out and boyyyy was it delicious. 6 big pieces and only 6.75 before taxes. And it was ready super quick. I also love that they give their soy sauce in a container rather than the small packets other places give. Inside the store is small and definitely more of a take out kind of place. Chef was the one who handed me my order, seemed nice! Will definitely come back to try the lunch special. Don't sleep on this place!!! read more

Sushi 2 Go - Salmon avocado roll $6.75 - Sushi Bars Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

Good price, but sushi was fine. The spicy tuna roll was really "fishy" and lacked flavor. However, the cucumber and avocado roll was great.

Great sushi at a great price. I ordered online and the service was fast. This is definitely a to-go restaurant like the name states. They do have a few tables but I imagine they're more for sitting and waiting to pick up your order. The staff were friendly and handed me my order immediately. I recommend this restaurant for decent sushi at a decent price. read more

I come to this spot everyday for my break during work and after. He is suppose to open until 9pm and take a lunch break up to 4:30. It is 5:50 and I waited just so I could get my food and he isn't here. He doesn't this a lot and it's very inconsiderate when he doesn't adhere to his own posted rules. The sushi is okay, but his attendance sucks. It sucks to get food and you don't know when it is open because the owner bases on his feelings that day not the hours that are posted. read more

You can tell that I'm a big fan of Sushi 2 Go--it may be my most-reviewed spot in the DMV! I'd say that it's still the best bang for your buck in terms of sushi in the Ballston area, and very competitive in North Arlington overall. Don't sleep on the lunch special! Great value and great taste. What amazes me is that the quality has remained good after all these years. I think it's because the owner is often at the register, making sure that her customers are taken care of. This is really a small, locally owned business, not just another soulless mediocre chain. Thanks, Sushi 2 Go, for many happy weekday lunch memories. read more

This place is great. My go to for takeout sushi in the area. Very good quality fish, very authentic, and it's a one man shop that has been around for decades. read more

My favorite place for sushi takeout! I get the salmon combo which comes with a salmon roll, 3 pieces of nigiri, and 3 pieces of sashimi. The fish is so soft and buttery. My only complaint is that the wasabi they give isn't spicy enough. The prices are decent for the area but the service and quality are impeccable! read more

Nice place to go for quick sushi to go. I got the hamachi variety. No waiting at 2pm. I think roll portion could be bigger but the sashimi and nigiri portions were ok. read more

Wouldn't recommend. The sushi was below average at best. I got a deal on an ordering app and got 2 rolls for $12 instead of $20 normally priced. These rolls are tiny and not worth $10 a piece. I ordered a spicy roll and Philadelphia roll. I didn't even finish the Phili roll. Overall, for the price go elsewhere for sushi. read more

I went in the evening on a cold windy night. The restaurant was not weatherproof so it's also cold inside near the window (and they only have window seatings unfortunately). I spent about $25 for a roll, dumplings and salad. Food tasted just edible. Roll seaweed was very humid and chewy, while it should be crispy. Dumpling filling was hard. I had a mild food poisoning wanting to throw up for all night. Maybe something was not fresh or clean. Overall, I regretted eating here. read more

This has always been my go-to local sushi place. It represented good sushi at a reasonable price. A few weeks ago, they raised their prices and it is no longer a good deal. In fact, it is now as expensive as some of the fancier sushi places. They increased their lunch roll combo by $5, which used to be the best deal in the area. I want to support this place, but it is no longer worth the price. Sigh. read more

My friend and I got the salmon combo ($20) & yellowtail combo ($23) for dinner. Each combo came with a roll (6 pieces), 3 pieces of nigiri, and 3 pieces of sashimi. Overall, the food was tasty! The quality of the fish was above average and relatively fatty. The rice had a good amount of vinegar in it that was perfect. Our only quip is that we weren't full from the food given how expensive it was. The sushi was good, but I'm not willing to pay $25-30 to feel satisfied. However, from what I've seen, they seem to have some lunch combos at a more affordable price. I will definitely get one of the combos sometime soon! read more

The best takeout sushi restaurant in northern VA. They have excellent, cheap lunch specials for their standard rolls. Their specialty rolls are packed and generous in portion. They used to be the best part of the menu, but recently, the rolls had too much sauce and drowned out the other flavors and texture of the fish. Still an excellent deal for those who want good quality, easily-available sushi. read more

Popped over to Sushi2Go for their lunch special: two rolls and miso soup for $12! What a steal! I ordered for pickup online, the sushi rolls were ready when I got there and they served me some fresh miso. Everything was delicious, and the people who work there are so nice! The plain salmon roll continues to be my go-to, it's so simple but so good. Sushi2Go is a super small spot right next to the Ballston metro, but don't let that fool you. My first thought was "yeesh a metro station sushi joint" but never judge a book by its cover, because this particular book rivals any sushi I had in LA or Hawaii. It's small (hence the "2 Go" part) but pound for pound it's impossible to beat. The main itamae (I just learned that term) seems to have a permanent mean-mug but if that's the price one pays for perfect sushi, so be it! read more

Like the name of the place says, it's super convenient fast "sushi 2 go" and right next to the metro station so perfect for a quick commute meal. The prices really cannot be beat for the food, but considering such...don't expect quality sushi from this place. But it's perfect for a nice California roll or simple avocado roll. Quality is definitely subpar so not hating because the price reflects such, but the Spicy tuna was dripping oil ? And my stomach hurt after I ate it. Never ordering that again. I think it didn't settle with me well because of the seasoning or whatever they put in the mixture. I also had a salmon roll, that was solid! If you're looking for quality sushi, don't come here. But if you're looking for something easy, convenient and fast? This is the place to go. read more

This is located near the ballston metro stations area. Parking might be a bit hard to find. Coming to the food, we got the lunch special 2 rolls combo. 1. Spicy tuna (4.5/5) and 2. Shrimp tempura (4.5/5). The miso soup was excellent (5/5). It's a good sushi for the price. The wasabi was very strong and the ginger combo added a taste to the dishes. The 2 roll combo was just sufficient for us. So I suggest to get the 3 roles if you are hungry. The chef was very friendly and polite. Overall u get a quick and health meal. read more

I ordered through Uber Eats. The delivery took over an hour. I didn't like the food, but family members did.

This is probably one of my favorite sushi place in North Arlington that isn't super expensive. For lunch they offer a special that you can get 2 basic rolls (any of the rolls that are specialties) for around $9.50 with tax. For 3 basic rolls during it will be about $12.50 with tax. Both lunch specials come with a miso soup. I got the salmon with avocado roll and the eel with cucumber roll as a lunch special. In addition I ordered the king tuna roll. In total it cost me about $23. Which is fairly cheap for good quality, freshly made sushi. Not to mention the rolls weren't super small and after I ate them I felt satisfied. Sometimes when I eat maki or nigiri at other sushi restaurants I am always left wanting more because the rolls tend to be made small. This results in me spending a lot of money on sushi. Here I don't have that problem because the rolls are a decent size. This place is perfect for lunch time because of the lunch specials they offer. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area for lunch and are craving delicious sushi!! read more

Granted this place was a bit hard to find (I'm a transplant, recently moved here) -- the sushi is REALLY good! When I tell you I F'd that sushi up, it's true. It was pretty much gone in 60 seconds like the movie. Kidding. By the time I was done, I was in a food coma. I ordered three different rolls - Crunch roll, Spider roll, and a Spicy Salmon roll. So good! Don't let the name fool you, this sushi is the truth. The restaurant is clean, the price is right, and the sushi is really fresh. Cheap good rolls for lunch! Can't beat the two or 3 roll lunch special. Soup is now $1 extra. Plan to get takeaway - the shop is cold and crowded and not somewhere you want to linger with your lunch. But you didn't come here for the ambiance so that's OK. read more

Quality sushi without the pretentious feel. Make sure you take advantage of the lunch special. Otherwise, I think it get a bit pricey. The miso soup is self serve as well as all the utensils, etc. for the lack of ambience and service, I have to say, the sushi was good!!! My daughter told me, it's one of the best salmon sashimi she has had in her teenage years. Lol. Hence the five stars... It's in the fairfax side. Hopefully you don't get as lost as I did! I've been to Sushi2GO more times than I count. They have a lot of good rolls on their menu, but if it's your first time I would definitely recommend getting their spicy crunch shrimp as one of them. Good quality sushi and great value Will definitely come here more often for lunch specials.

For what it is, I give them 3 stars. This is not meant to be a nice fancy sushi place. This is an upgrade from grocery store bought sushi but not comparable to a decent sit down restaurant. You come here if you need a quick lunch and you're craving sushi. They have a decent selection of rolls and their prices are very reasonable. Again, don't expect super high quality. read more

I came here after experiencing some truly terrible sushi with the intention of washing that experience away with some real sushi. It did not disappoint. I came here around 8:30 and it wasn't very busy at all (there was another patron immediately after me). The service was quick. I ordered and my rolls immediately began to be prepared. The rolls were generous with the fish (and eel in my case). The ginger must be pickled on site (since they sell extra and its a lovely pick color). The woman on the register was so kind. She carefully tied my bag and squeezed all the air out when I ordered takeout. The prices adjust according to what add-ons you order, which gives me the feeling that the pricing is pretty fair. read more
