Shrimp Spring Roll
David H.

I was hoping they'd have a traditional co'm tam combo plate and although they didn't, they had pretty similar options! I went with their special rice plate with chicken and an egg roll. It's not what I'm used to but it was still pretty darn good dawg! Throw some fish sauce allllll over that bad boy and eat up.

Pho with Beef

I enjoy their Banh Mis more than their Pho! Was pretty tasty but to be completely honest I have had better. Something about it is different than other personal faves I've had. However the restaurant is very homey, family-feel, and workers are very kind and attentive.

Great authentic Vietnamese restaurant to eat at! I had their beef pho and it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the broth and the noodles and meat were prepared nicely. Their portioning was good, and the pricing of the whole menu was fair! The service was good. The employee was attentive and helpful, and the food did not take long to make. The ambiance of the restaurant is decent. There's limited seating and the place is a bit small and it feels tight. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the food here and I'd recommend going here!

bbq pork and egg banh mi

This is a great place to go for a quick lunch! I ordered a bbq pork & egg bahn mi sandwich to go, and the order was ready quickly, it was cheap ($8.50!), and delicious. The flavor of the bbq pork was so flavorful (a little bit sweet) and the bread was perfectly toasted, and added a nice crunch. There is plenty of seating inside and service seems very quick for in person orders as well. I love that it is also on the cheaper side but still has decent portions.

Pho w/ beef. The broth leaned more on the savory side with a nice touch of oil leftover. The prices were the cheapest I've seen compared to any other pho place but it only came with brisket slices. I did miss the tendons and tripe parts. Asked for extra thai basil and apparently I took the last one. The noodles were so clean I didn't see any starch come from them when I broke it apart which is a great sign. Got the large size- large pho typically gouges me if I eat it all but I cleaned my bowl and didn't feel gouges. It was the right amount but a tad smaller than expected but enough to satisfy after a 6 mi run I think I'll be back to try their banh mi since the plate that they serve it on is a vibe and possibly the banh canh since it's irregular + No nonsense pho ambiance

This was a solid bowl of pho! Great beef flavor, comes out piping hot. Noodles perfectly cooked and has a good amount of meat. Rice dishes also are really good! They are very friendly here; great prices, makes for a quick, casual place to eat pho.

Good price and pretty good banh mi! If visiting you'll have to pay for some street parking. There was more meat than appears in the photo. I saw others getting pho and other items. Looks like a good affordable spot.

I come here so much that I lost count. This is a staple in the heart of University district and it's obvious why. The food here is so good and for a great price. So much great dishes too. The owners are also really friendly and nice. This time I got the Spicy beef noodle soup or also know as bun bo hue. One of my favorite Vietnamese noodle dishes and they do it so well here!! Perfect umami flavor and super yummy with loads of seasoning. This is a dish you have to try out for yourself. I also had leftovers for another meal, a two in one meal which is great for us college students on a budget.

Ordered the pork banh mi and it was okay. The bread was definitely soft and had no crunch. The flavor of the grilled pork was good, and they use mayo instead of pate fyi. Portions are on the smaller size compared to other places I've been to, but I can see how it's a solid option for students since it's near the Ave.

Sandwich and Wonton Soup Combo

Saigon Deli is such a staple. I love getting the bahn mi and wonton soup combo with a side of the shrimp spring rolls. The food is tasty, and it's for a great price! My first year living in Seattle I was super close to the restaurant which was so great. I used to go more consistently and the workers would remember my roommate and I's orders! Overall, the people are super kind and the environment is comfortable.

Chicken pho
Aylish T.

Portions are decent for the price and the pho really hits on a cold day, but the chicken pho was a little overcooked and tough to chew. I would have loved a richer broth and more tender chicken. Feeling like it lacks depth. Pretty quick service, just a super busy and slightly understaffed place. They're whipping out orders like crazy. Limited seating indoors. Good to meet up for lunch or order ahead.

Bun Bo hue
Emily H.

Super cute spot in UW, tiny corner store to grab a quick meal with some friends. The flavors were great, loved the bun bo hue and Thai tea. I wish the bun bo hue had thicker noodles, but otherwise great. Prices were a bit high for the serving size, but not unusual for the area

LOVE LOVE LOVE Saigon Deli. The owner is SO sweet. I originally came here because we ordered for here for catering with one of my college groups, and their banh mi was SO GOOD. I come here by myself sometimes and get a banh mi or spring rolls. I'm sure their pho is good too. If you order over the phone it's easy for pickup. Tip: bring cash so you don't have to pay the credit card fee. Tbh even with the credit card fee it's still pretty cheap. So much bang for your buck!!!

Get the banh mi to-go from here. It never fails. Cheap and good. One of the better places for traditional banh mi in U Dist.

The Combo is the best meal. Pour the won ton soup on the Bahn mi for a sensational sandwich with moistness along with flavor.

Sandwiches and Pho are better here than Thanh Vi in my honest opinion. The price is a little cheaper here as well. Food comes fast!

My cocktail was a pho broth washed shot of Jameson and it came with a pho broth chaser. Hope I got that right but I almost don't wanna drink Jameson any other way now. The parking lot was packed but there's a paid parking lot around corner so no problem. It looked packed but I think a lot of people were at the larger pho Bac sup shop (which is associated w The Boat, but The Boat had plenty of seating at 6:30 on a Sunday night. I think what I appreciated most was the service- we had a person who seated us and answered questions about the menu- my partner has some preferences and shared them with the first server but then the second server came by and already knew what my partner had shared with the first server. That's real dedication. Definitely coming back.

I was left with a pleasant surprise and understanding of the hype of this place, because the chicken was so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The place is right next to their sister location, Pho bar, and share a parking space. It is nice and clean on the inside, and like the name the restaurant is shape like a boat! So far I have been here twice and would definitely come back for a warm meal. The staff were helpful and pleasant! It was roughly a 30 minute wait for the food, but that is to be expected considering this is not a fast-food Restaurant (:

It's a bit pricey for the portions, but overall we enjoyed our meal and I really liked trying dishes beyond the typical spring roll/pho/rice place. Here's what we ordered: - Baby clams with rice cracker: Generous portion of clams, paired nicely with the crunchy cracker. - Braised fish pot: Make sure you eat this with rice as it can be a bit on the salty side, but super flavorful. - Tamarind tree soup: A great combination of sweet and sour with lots of veggies. Wish there was more protein. It's located in a bit of a sketchy mall, but it's one of the nicer restaurants located within the mall. We ended up choosing a place close and were not disappointed at all. This restaurant is located off a busy street but it luckily offers a parking lot which can be hard to come by in Seattle. Because we came on the earlier side, we were seated quite quickly :) The space is pretty large so I don't think I would worry about a wait on a weekday. We were very impressed by the options provided. I usually don't find Bun Bo Hue on the menu often which is what my partner ended up ordering. I ordered the Bun rieu which is even harder to come by. We also ordered the crispy butter garlic wings to share which was a perfect choice. The service was very fast and we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly our stuff came out after placing our order. The portions were also HUGE and we both had enough to take home for a second meal. The Bun rieu was super tomatoey and had a rich flavor which the crab. My mom makes Bun rieu at home and I was very much happy with this bowl too, reminded me a lot of how my mom makes it! The Bun Bo Hue was not super spicy but we appreciated being able to customize. The garlic wings were SOOOO good. So crispy and seasoned so well, we would 100% get these again they were so good. We left very full, warm, and satisfied with this pick. We likely will be back in the near future!

The custard duck egg is an excellent starter, with a rich, savory broth that delivers a deep, yolky umami punch. The rau ram oil and herb is such a creative twist that adds the perfect herbal dimension. The radicchio pudding was light and offered a clean, almost grassy brightness without being overwhelming in flavors. Great option for any vegans at the table. The wagyu beef tallow fries were some of the best fries I've ever had. Ultra-crispy, perfectly thick-cut, and deeply flavorful with beef notes shining through, without being too heavy. Like many of the dishes here, perfectly balanced in flavor. The grilled eggplant with whipped tofu and crispy sun chokes was another standout. The tofu whip was so smooth and should be considered a worthy sub for mayo. The eggplant was soft, creamy, and perfectly charred. The garlic rice was incredibly savory and maybe my favorite version of it yet. Packed with the perfect depth of garlicky flavor and seasoning. Finally for dessert - I thought the durian fruit cup was decent, it's great for durian lovers but next time I will be back to try their other desserts. The hollow bread is a must-try. It's fried to perfection, the inside is steamy and the butter it comes with is perfect but the bread alone is so good that it doesn't need it. The perfect touch of roasted sesame. Slightly sweet, it's a delight in textures and perfect in cold weather. The oyster on half shell in happy hour is also a great standard oyster, very fresh, with a nuanced Viet twist in the sauces. Vegetable dip is pretty standard and also delicious, great if you're looking for a healthy starter. Coffee rubbed ribs were fantastic as well and an incredible deal for the size. Very savory, a little sticky sweet, but not too much. Service was also friendly and the food came out in a reasonable time. Easy to eat and flavorful on its own but dipping it with Chinsu added spice and more flavor. Bot Chien had a crisp to it and egg was cooked well. You have to dip it in the fish sauce or else there is no flavor. Just something minor but I wish the pickled veggies were more separated. It had the cut lines but not fully cut so you had to separate it yourself. The com tam was alright. All of the components you would usually get for a broken rice dish. The meatloaf was really good. The pork on the other hand was a bit too salty for my liking. And you only get one thin piece... soup on the side was good and was a good way to cleanse the palette. Overall good modern/fancy spin on Vietnamese food but overpriced. Would probably be nice to go during dinner time for some drinks as the ambience seemed better for night time. Good amount of seating. Street parking around the area was easy to find.
