I dropped off my shade screens to be reworked, and was very surprised to see the amount of stock they have added in this store. I asked about the change and found out they have a new owner. Not only do they have a variety of items including a garden shop, but they have a number of each item, and very well organized. I was asked by 3 people if they could help me on my way back to the screen department. I will keep coming back. (screens were done quickly and they kept their promise date.) Update 5/20/15- Matt in the pool department was able to help me with a difficult filter valve issue that saved me buying a new $130.00 valve and having to re-plumb my system. read more

Foothills Ace Hardware is a great place to go for all your do-it-yourself needs. Conveniently located in the Foothills for Ahwatukee residents, this Ace is a great place to go for all those odd items vs going to the big box stores of LOWES AND HOME DEPOT. Great selection, very friendly staff. Loses a star because of the size of the store. Layout is kind of a cluster. Overall I really enjoy going to this Ace to purchase a variety of things for my home. read more

Caution, as much as you get periodic coupons, they are very vague on what applies too. Most recent disappoint was $20 off spending $50 or more. Disclaimer was on the $20 gift card, "Cannot be combined with other offers". Took this to be other coupons they send such as percentage off or spend $25 and get $5 off. Apparently the use of "offer" applies to sale or discounted items as well. This is not the first time this store has been this vague. Will not be shopping at Ace again. Total bill was $62.69. The one item that was discounted was $3.00 off all other items at retail of 9 items. read more

Came in about 20 minutes before closing time. I was running because of moving out of a Gilbert condo to an Ahwatukee house, and I needed spackle and a key made for the maid service clean out, and I needed them fast and I needed them that night. I interacted with at least 4 people who were staff - 1 directed me to where the keys were made, 1 made my key, 1 took my money and the 4th one directed us all out the door. Not overly friendly. In fact somewhat brusque and/or distracted. The first took me to the key place and just left me. I stood there for several minutes wondering what to do -- should i go back and ask her who worked there? There was a gentleman stacking things behind the area who ignored me and finally I asked him if there was anyone working the key area. He said he could make my key for me, so he did, then I went and paid. It then finally about 5 minute til close and the staff who directed me and another lady were giving everyone unfriendly looks and reminding us all to leave. I would've been able to leave faster if y'all had given me customer service when I walked in. They were all trying to get out of there and seemed like they didn't want to help me. It was a bad first impression in a new neighborhood... they might be good most days but it didn't make me want to come back -- it made me want to go to Lowe's or Home Depot even though I'm a local hardware store fan usually.... read more

Great customer service, always. In my experience garden center (in the rear of the store) plants, pots and maintenance materials seem to always be top quality, locally grown and seasonally selected. Here I have found friendly and professional garden specialists who offer free advice on desert planting techniques, maintenance and plant placement. They take the time to make sure you have both the necessary materials and knowledge you need for your project before you leave the store. These people act like they really do care. I have found the in store hardware sales and service to be equally good. read more

I very rarely walk out of this Ace Hardware disappointed. The staff is both incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. If they don't have exactly what I am looking for, they tell me where I can get it. Their prices are fair, and they have a very good selection. It also takes a fraction of the time to go in, get what you need and get back to work compared to Home Depot. If I can, I prefer to get anything home improvement here. read more

These guys are great, I had a sliding screen door that I could not get the wheels to work properly. I took off the bottom and brought it in to a guy I think his name was Dale, they told me he had 15 years experience. I worked on those rollers for most of the morning and yes, blood was shed some tears also. Dale worked on it for maybe 15 minutes and got it all working right. I asked him how much I owed him and he said I was a regular and not to worry about it, I had to make him write me up a charge for his time. Everything I ever needed is there, it sure does beat the big stores where all I am looking for is a small piece. You walk in the door and these employees are ready to help every time, and the popcorn is a nice treat. read more

The best service experience I've ever had in a hardware store. It's close to home so if I need something quickly I always go here. You can barely get 2 feet in the door before someone is offering to help and if the check out person isn't serving at the time, they always call out 'hello'. Cindy in the garden section is an absolute fount of knowledge. Whilst I still travel to Home Depot for big shops, I'm so thankful to have this store on my doorstep.....did I mention the free popcorn by the front door? read more

So close to home and always ready with helpful and extremely knowledgable staff. Not like HD, where NOBODY is around to help. Chuck was super helpful and actually saved me money by showing me I could restore my kitchen cabinet hardware with a $4 bag of steel wool rather than completely repainting them. I used to go to nearby pool stores for water checks, supplies, chemicals, etc. But ACE has become my pool store of choice because of the friendly customer service and low prices. They seem to enjoy helping customers and that's refreshing. read more

My husband and I purchased some window screens a few years ago from Ace Hardware in Chandler ( not Foothills location) This past week the wind had blown off the screen, so I went to the next closest Ace Hardware (since the first location was closed in our area) Long story short, the store I went to miscommunicated the screen installation process too me. With unsuccessful communication with sales rep and store manager I asked for the owners name. The manger told me the owners were at the Desert Foothills location today ( Friday 2-16-17). I spoke with Mr. Ruggiero expressing to him what took place and the poor customer service I received. Mr. Ruggiero listened to me very carefully, was very understanding, and assured me that the situation would be taken care of. I then received two calls from a gentleman who will be at our home on Monday to install the screen and brackets. I want to Thank Mr. Ruggiero for everything you did to make my husband and I comfortable with the situation, "WE APPRECIATE YOUR HELP" We will continue shopping at Ace Hardware because of Mr. Ruggiero 's understanding, and expediting the situation. Solid neighborhood hardware store with a helpful staff that's eager to get you exactly what you need. No trudging up and down the aisles hoping to find someone (who almost invariably isn't much help). Here there are two or three people nearby. I especially appreciate the extra time employees like Stephanie (in the garden department) are willing to spend in order to help get your project right the first time. The wide selection of fasteners and specialty hardware are also really useful when you're looking for that oddball part and they did a really great job color matching some paint for us from a tiny chip. Sure some things might be a few more pennies than the box stores, but what we save on time, gas, and aggravation tips the scale to Ace nearly every time. read more

I have to say that anytime I go into ACE I am immediately greeted and when I'm asked what I need I get immediate assistance. I've been very impressed by there customer service. I used to shop at the other hardware stores where it's an all day project to get help. At this Ace you are in and out. I think Tom is the guy that helps me out most of the time, he is very knowledgeable and the nicest guy. I do think he is a Manager which makes it even better when he walks up to you and asks you if you need any help. You don't get that at the other big chain hardware stores... I don't need to mention there names. I also need to mention the garden center, Stephanie is very knowledgeable, I was very impressed, and the fact that she works outside int the AZ conditions is kinda impressive. She is always making sure the plants are getting the right sunlight and the proper amount of water. I have noticed she is afraid of wasps...lol. She rocks! So all in all I give this store 5 stars because of there staff and I have yet to go there to find out they don't have what I'm looking for.... except when the popcorn machine was broken.... lol. read more
