Great store with plenty of staff on hand at all times that are helpful. I had to dock a point for the dog pool I got this season. I purchased a dog pool here with paw print art and it's been great and lasted 2 summers. This season I decided to replace with a new one. However the one I purchased this season has fish as the art. It's a thinner plastic and doesn't work well for small dogs. The art is peeling off in a weird way and making goopy mess. The sides just bend and folds the plastic making it tear easily. I will be on the lookout to see if they get any paw printed pools and I will change my star to five if they do. Dog paw pools and fish contractor pools are way different. read more

Last week I was in town working at my father's house. I had to rekey several locks for it. As it turns out I had apparently handed them the original key rather than the new replacement key. It wasn't until I had the locks installed that I realized what I had done, so I took them off and returned to the store to have them done all over again. When I told them that I made a mistake, the good people of Ace Hardware happily did the job again, saying don't worry we need the practice. I was hoping they might give me a bit of a discount because of my error, but instead, they told me no charge because we all make mistakes sometimes. I was so thankful for their awesome, quick, and friendly service. I don't live in the area but if I have to go back I'd definitely visit them again. read more

Every time I enter the store it feels like you're being stalked. They are afraid your going to steal something. Second, their Ace masking tape and blue tape does not stay on the surface you put it on. I've had to go over putting pressure on the tape 3 times and it starts to peel back in minutes. Some things only Home Depot can provide they will do the job. read more

This is a good ACE Hardware because it's separate from a shopping mall strip, so the crowd is minimal and the parking easy to find. I would go back to this location. read more

We frequent this place pretty often as new homeowners in the area. It's the most convenient place for us to run in to pick up basic tools, hardware, and supplies we find ourselves needing. However, their selection is definitely limited, and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff is friendly enough, but it's hard to find someone working there who can thoroughly answer questions and give trustworthy advice about what you need. If you already know what you're doing and what you need, you should be just fine here. But if you need any kind of guidance or recommendations, I hate to say that you're probably better off at a "big box" store instead. read more

Worst customer service EVER. Wanted to return items with my receipt but they were purchased from a different store. The store manager simply refused to do it even though they were new items and they sell them. He blamed it on the area and then eventually blamed it on them being locally owned. He then proceeded to talk about a return policy and when i asked where it was posted he pointed to Christmas return policy sign from 12-31-14. I was going to purchase additional supplies and materials to take care of my new apartment totaling well over the $32 I was trying to return. Convienence was what ACE had. I will now drive out of my way to support a store who values service. Customer Service is because you want to not because you have to. As a small business.....you should value your customers, or else the big boxes will win! read more

So I came in to buy a pressure washer hose and garden hose this week. I called in advance and was told they have it and to come on down. I came in with the hose and went up to the counter for help locating the item I was looking for. They just pointed to an isle and said it "should" be there. I picked up the wrong hose (my bad) and was off to pay. They didn't seem to like taking a company check but no worries here the women ringing me up said "this is the ghetto" when I asked why the hesitation about the check. When I came to rerun the hose instead of helping me find the correct one the man "Jon" (wearing a black polo with no name tag) began to complain about how they couldn't re sell the item because it wasn't in the package. (The items were both bound with zip ties that I brought back and I did bring the labels back, would have only taken a moment to re package like new) and I disputed that saying the packaging is here and he interrupted me saying "you have to be in the business to understand" with a slight attitude and it was very clear they didn't want to return the item and took it out on me. They returned it and gave me my money back but listen, I don't want to hear about your problems re selling the item or be told the item is going to be scrapped because of me. Just do the job. And you could have sold me the correct hose and it would have been a $40 up sale but you missed that opportunity and I honestly forgot to ask for the correct hose since you attitude put me in the mood to just get out. I drove to Home Depot and found the hose anyway. They got $120 of my business because of your attitude. Will not return here again. And it's a shame I live so close (coronado) and can't shop at the local hardware store. read more

I bought a bug zapper from a location in Scottsdale last week and it quit after 3 days. I live in central Phoenix. So with my reciept,they said I would have to drive all the way back to the original store. Due to the fact they are all francised. I told them I wouldnt be back that way for who knows how long. Then the cashier says yeah we dont even have that here. Lie number 1. Next I ask the manager to show me where it says this is the policy. She goes in the back with the original trouble maker. He comes back with a new story and asks if I have tbe original box, probably knowing no one usually does that. So I tell him I dont and tben he says well we cant help you then. Lie number 2. I see the same zapper on the shelf and tell him Ill let him keep the box. Oh no, we cant do that. Ill be avoiding this location and going to the one on 32nd st and Indian school. I love this Ace Hardware at 2242 E. Oak St. in Phoenix. Everyone has always been very helpful and I sometimes just call and ask a question. When I need something, I prefer it to the big box store. I like being able to buy nuts and bolts from the little bins rather than packages. (I rarely need 6-12.) It's small but has always had most of what I need. I live in a historic home that is almost 100 years old and there is almost always something to fix. read more

As they say ace is the place well it's an all right place. I couldn't find a local Home Depot so I decided to go ahead and check out Ace. For the most part the people in the store were pretty helpful. They were able to guide me to the correct the hours that I needed which was cool. One of the guys they thought that he was mr. Know-it-all expert Hardware men and well didn't really care much for that. I'm that the prices I think we're a little bit more expensive than Home Depot and way more expensive than Lowe's if I had to do it again I probably would not go back. I would probably go to Lowe's instead but overall that wasn't a bad experience. read more
