I love ACE!!! At big box stores, no one is there to help you unless you ask for help and you usually have to hunt for that person. Here at Ace, there are friendly faces ready to help you when you enter the store . I needed gloves and I was directed to the area to make my selection . I found a pair at a really good price. On my way out, I remembered that I needed a battery for my car fob. The gentleman that directed me to the gloves was easy to find again when I needed help with picking out the right battery. I also liked how another employee offered to help the gentleman that was trying to help me. Yes to teamwork!!! read more

When all else fails in looking for certain items, don't overlook your local Ace Hardware. Spent over an hour searching for a quad circuit breaker that had 40 and 20 amp service. Tried the standard Lowes and Home Depot and at least 6 other electrical supply establisments. Last call was to my local Ace Hardware. They had exactly what I needed. They told me Westinghouse was bought by another company and the breaker they had should work. Service was great...these folks know what they are doing. Next time, Ace Hardware will be my first call. I called 10 other Ace locations and all were willing to exchange if purchased at their store. When I spoke to this locations store manager he pretty much said "well that's too bad for you". I have never, ever had an issue with an ACE Hardware store. While they may be busy helping someone else at the moment customer service folks are committed to helping you. In years gone by I've worked in a couple of Brand XXX Hdwe stores and managed one. Very similar to ACE. I started working hdwe when I was 16 years old and it was a franchise inside a grocery/mercantile store. My job was not to have every possible item stocked but it was to make sure anyone and everyone who came in left with at the very least a workaround. I love coming to Ace. I usually find everything I'm looking for, and much quicker than I would at a big box store. I can't stress how helpful all the associates are. As soon as I walk in the door, one of the associates is there to greet me and ask what I'm looking for. They'll usually accompany me and assist me with my purchase. Broke a key for my Toyota, and the Toyota dealer wanted $250 plus $175 programming fee... and the Toyota parts guy lacked any sense of customer service in my opinion. I tried Ace since it was close, and I was very impressed with their customer service and determination. For whatever reason, the key cutting process was not going as usual, but that did not stop them. And, I was shown that the reprogramming process consisted of popping out the chip from my original key and placing it in the new key. An associate at this location by the name of Ray was not only proactive in delivering customer service before I ever needed ask, but personalized my impromptu trip in with exceptionally enjoyable conversation prompted by my item selection and several relevant follow-up inquiries. When I told the cashier that I was charged 10 times the price of one item she started arguing with me even though it was right on the receipt. Just wanted to say thanks to Mike, who not only helped me purchase the best steel reinforced epoxy to seal a leak in my pool pump, but he gave me suggestions on how to best apply it to fix the leak! As soon as I walked in 10/2 around 9:45am an older gentleman was asking the two women at the register for help stating he "didn't see anyone in that area". With an attitude, the blonde said she would page an associate to that area. She had to repeat herself once or twice because he was obviously hard of hearing. While he was still within earshot she said to the older woman "ugh, it's too early for this/I can't be dealing with stuff like this". How disrespectful. It's YOUR JOB to provide customer service. If that man were my father I would have absolutely made a scene. If you hate your job so badly get a new one but in the meantime maybe you should rethink anything involving customer service. I have been coming to Union Hills Ace Hardware for years. There's just something about shopping in a neighborhood hardware store. Anytime I have a project, I just go in and tell the guys behind the counter and they seem to always now how to fix it and have exactly what I need. They provide personal, knowledgable help, If you are need of help or something unusual, or difficult come in and ask them. They either have the part or they can point you in the right direction on where to go fix it! I have always been greeted immediately and shown where to get my products. They have everything, and they're very knowledgeable about what products would be best. It's run like a hardware store should be run. And it's not just the selection, it's the customer service that won me over someone asks if they can help you with anything. They always take the time to actually walk me through the store to find what I'm looking for, and talk me through the different options. The best part is if you don't need help, they're nice and they leave you alone. PRICE: Decently priced. You will not find these prices for the quality anywhere. SERVICE: The staff is super friendly and helpful. On each visit, we were met with THE most competent, friendly, intelligent, efficient and awesome service EVER. They take pride in their work. SELECTION: The aisles are wide, the shelves are not overcrowded, and the store is impressively clean and maintained. They CONCLUSION: A bit more pricier than the big-box stores but they will actually have what you need and help you find it. l will continue coming here for all of my hardware needs just based on the friendly staff and their willingness to help. read more

This our ace hardware is usually pretty good, but unfortunately they have taken this whole COVID-19 thing past crazy. Their new temporary hours are still at 6 PM closing through the week where every other ace hardware in the Valley stays open at normal business hours now. The state has been open for business again for over two weeks now yet this Ace Hardware will not open its doors past 6 PM. I would understand it if they're doing heavy cleaning and sanitizing etc, but they're not! I was here about 10 minutes before they closed and had to remove a part underneath the hood of my truck and take it in to get two little machine screws. When I walked up to the door it was straight up 6 o'clock and the girl had already locked it and stated "once I lock the doors I can't re-open them" now I put the parts back together under the hood and looking for another Ace Hardware or parts store. I went in to get a 60 cent washer and received remarkably excellent service! Russ (I believe his name was) showed enthusiastic and authentic interest in what I was trying to achieve and pointed me to exactly the thing that would do the job. I ended up browsing in the store and picked up some additional Russ-advised things as well as some hard-to-find handy items. I was just there today and was looking for batteries and another customer was at the service desk asking for a price match. The woman taking care of him was extremely rude and refused to look the item up by the name or part number on the item but insisted on doing it by the scew, which is fine but at least do it by the way the customer is asking and show him the same result. She insisted that she could not give him the lower price because the ACE.com site he was on right there with his phone was different then what she was seeing on her computer. The customer went to another "manager" and complained and got a slightly nicer response from him, but still the same response. The man left with his boy saying they would go to Walmart because they price match. By this time I was in line to check out and the cashier chuckled when he said that and the original woman, the guy manager and a 3rd employee were about 10 feet away mocking the guy after he left and laughing about it. I got out of line and let them know what they were doing was completely unprofesional and that how she was talking to him in the first place was wrong. I tossed my product on the counter and said they just lost another customer. I am opening a shop about 1 mile from there where we will need hardware and different things almost every day and I have spent $100's in the last few weeks, but will not go back there!
