I had came to this location a few weeks ago to get the copy key made but later realized it was the incorrect cut off key and it did not fit in the lock. The older gentlemen Chuck is not a good employee. His customer service skills need to be honed in. I honestly believe that these stores hire retired gentleman to assist in the later years because the majority of the employees in any department are typically old men who are condescending. This was the case with Chuck. I came in and requested assistance finding a double male electrical adapter. The Christmas season being upon us, and outdoor lighting needs are in full swing. I was laughed upon request and given useless information regarding methods of installing lights. Non-essential information. This employee should be trained in a more effective way, and ensuring that they can align around the companies vision and values for customer service, should be the only time they are allowed to return to the sales floor unaccompanied. Got asked to leave for not wearing a mask, I am polite about it explained I have a legitimate medical issue but I understand their position and would leave now, the problem I had is that two employees said hi to me as I walked in, and look right at me, not till I get to the back of the store when a young man told me I had to leave which I did. The sad part of this is I have been in this store almost weekly and never wore a mask! Now suddenly I can't use the store anymore. The store has every right to enforce any rule they want and I support them, but when you are inconsistent and employees are snotty about it and don't understand the medical exemptions then you lose customers permanently!! Called to verify they had a product before driving to the store. Female answered, obvious she wasn't listening when I told her what I was looking for, she "repeated" me with the wrong item. I repeated what I was looking for, she put me on hold to check, came back quickly and said "yes, we have it". I asked the price and size to make sure it was the correct item, she responded with, "I asked someone else and they said we have it in the store, don't know the price". We drove there to purchase the item......they didn't have it. We were notified that they could order it and have it in a few days.....nope, Amazon can get it to me tomorrow. read more

I will never enter this establishment again. Not for anything. My boyfriend and I stopped in to buy a few items. At first we were greeted as expected. However, throughout the duration of our visit, we constantly had employees coming up to us repeatedly, although they were the same ones who had 1 minute earlier asked if we needed help. We also caught an employee spying on us from around the corner. It felt like they were judging us and assuming that our intention was to steal from them. We had actually intended on making several rather large purchases, but after the unfair looks and completely misguided judgement of our characters, I decided only to purchase a few small items, only for the sole purpose of showing the staff that we have the means to pay for our items wanted. This was not just a case of being overly friendly or attentive. This was a gross misjudgement of myself and my boyfriend on their part. I was going to ask the employees what issue or concern they had with us. However, I didn't want to get upset and argue or anything and make their assumptions of us seem accurate in any way. Maybe it's because I was dressed in comfortable clothing, or possibly it's my tattoos, or maybe there was some other issue. Either way, it was unfair. It's definitely not good business practice to outright show your paying customers that you have absolutely no faith in them and just decide to treat them based on some unfounded assumptions. This was disgusting and never will I step foot into this particular Ace Hardware again. I will say that the store was very clean, well stocked and organized as well as easy to navigate. Had it not been for the unreasonable stares and overbearing attempt to catch us doing something we would never do, nor have we ever done, I would've left a positive review. Walked in to True Value on 43rd and Bell, the first thing i did was grab a garage door clicker battery before I forgot, which are located at the front door. I then walked around the store with my fiancée just browsing when I noticed I was being followed by a True value employee (older gentleman). When i was cashing out, I seen the lady at the register give the elder man a thumbs up after I paid for my items. In their defense I am a 35 year old, clean cut, General Electrical Project Foreman who is Mexican. So I can see how I was perceived as a thief! When it first opened I was excited to have a True Value very close by. The other one shut down and it really sucked. I went it the very first time and learned very fast that the staff their really doesn't know much about anything. They're really not that helpful meaning if you walk by one and don't explicitly ask for help they may or may not ask you if you need any, they may not say hi for that matter. As far as being helpful in finding what you need, in my honest opinion you might as well just go look for it yourself. On one occasion I nearly walked the half of the store with one employee looking for what I needed, I then split off and found it myself. My favorite hardware store around. The people here are so friendly and helpful and never seem to be in a rush. The store is always very clean and tidy. Ask anyone in the store where something is and they take you right to it. Order something online and have it shipped there, they're happy to be of service if you need them to order something. I ride a motorcycle as my main means of transportation. Back pack is a way of life, I carry all my normal stuff in it. Wallet, Phone, Laptop (When needed) registration and such. This True value is the first business that told me I have to leave my back pack with the cashier. My answer was to walk out of the store. Really, don't trust your customers, but we are supposed to trust you with a back pack full of personal items. It's one of the biggest TV hardware stores I've ever been in. Bolt selection is awesome. I did see #5 grade bolts but didnt notice any #8 or #10...but I was looking for specialty brass machine screws, which they had. Good selection of picture hanging hardware - they may have had T-screws to lock pix to the wall but I didn't ask I went a different route. Employees are knowledgeable and efficient. If you need a specific part quickly - go here and blow off those BIG hardware places that don't have any idea of what you are talking about. read more

So just walked in to this store on 43rd and Bell Rd with my son to buy Dog Food and just putting it the way it looked and (we) my son and I felt. Just as soon as my son and I put a foot inside the store the CASHIER.....TOLD ME NOT ASKED to ( leave my backpack behind the counter and I asked her why if it's my purse she said that all backpacks should be left in the counter, I told her that I was only there for dog food and I was going to wait their and pay and for someone to bring the dog food to the counter. She said everyone was busy and didn't know what dog food I wanted I told her I was going to go to a different store. As soon as I got into my car called the store and asked for the manager and she said for what I told her I wanted to talk to her manager (Dylan) I asked him nicely to answer my question I told him what she said and he said that every backpack should be left behind the counter she just didn't know the difference between a backpack purse and a backpack I told him if that was going to be his answer and he said that he was sorry for the miss understanding. On my point of view and I think anyone else, the way I, we felt there is no misunderstanding......in this world not in this point in time! I have never nor will I ever make another person feel any different than what I am and believe I have raised my kids to treat everyone else like they should and want to be treated. She's lucky I don't remember her face and believe me I won't be shopping at any TrueValue again. Was my third time coming in to this new store. Is pleasant, was greeted as I came in. My purpose for coming in was to purchase Quaker State Oil that they advertised at $2.99/qt. They advertised multiple weights, one being 10W-40, and the sale was to run for two more days (to the 14th of April). However, they had none on the shelves, none in stock, and when I asked for a raincheck they told me non-repently that the warehouse would not be getting more (so "no", no raincheck, your trip to our new store was a waste of "your" time and money). The ad said nothing about the sale being subject to "limitied quantities", so it appears to be a "bait and switch" tactic. I won't be going there again, and of course, word mouth is the best "advertising", if you get my drift. read more
