No excuses he tried to tell me it was my helmet? Seriously a motorcycle helmet? What about a women's purse or a guys jacket or fanny pack. Absolutely ridiculous! First time at this location last time. I walk into every other location with my helmet even spare matching hardware sometimes never ever something so ridiculous! You have to get the right guy at the right time and place. I needed a toilet tank water supply float assembly. Most common brand Fluidmaster for ten bucks. So far no big deal right? Well this 30sish guy sorry no name, shows me how to save effort by pulling apart the center adjusting piece and just popping the float part on the existing stem. It saves a seniors knees and frustration much ear and tear. They have a keeper. Their other employees are stars as well but a plumbing expert is there for all. read more

Excellent service. After shopping at Ace I came out to my car and another customer told me I had a flat tire. It had a nail in it. The air compressor I keep in my trunk had a dead battery so I went back inside and told the elderly gentleman I literally lived less than a minute away and asked if he had an air compressor and if he could just put in enough air to get me home. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to call AAA and tires are new so didn't want to risk ruining them with fix-a-flat. This sweet elderly gentleman helped me out. He filled my tire with air and got me safely home! Even though I've been going to this ACE store for many years I will now make it a point to shop here first before going to Home Depot or Lowe's or anywhere else. This is my local Ace Hardware and I found it to have a decent amount of things for a smaller store. It has a very limited supply of everything. The aisles are very narrow and I noticed some things just don't get restocked. We came here recently to order an item showing available online, however, when we came it turned out to be a display item. My husband decided to get it anyway as it was the last item. Yet, it turned out there was a chip on the product, which was overlooked so back it went. The return policy for online items required my husband to talk to the manager on a cell phone, which is kind of weird if you ask me. Overall, I would only come here in dire need. Home Depot, Lowe's, and Walmart have better prices and service. The only good thing is the location. read more

Absolutely love this place. They have a well-stocked inventory, friendly and helpful employees and comparable prices for everything that I've shopped for. After one of the big box store hardware chains screwed me over on purchase, assembly and delivery of a Traeger pellet grill, I visited Ruggiero's Ace Hardware and found the exact grill at the same price available for delivery the next day, I haven't looked back. City and County ordinances were being broken with customers not wearing masks at this store. I walked in and 2 staff were not wearing masks. Two customers were not wearing masks and remained in the store. One of the customers (without a mask) joked with the cashier about masks and the cashier laughed. I contacted the ass't manager and the manager...they both made excuses. It felt very much like they were taking a political side rather than protecting my health. The one employee I spoke to refused to say anything to a customer without a mask, 'because they did not want to get punched", she said. No signs were present at the entrance to the store about masks. Its as simple as putting a sign at the entrance to their store "do not enter our store without a mask. This is a city and county law". SHAME ON YOU! read more

I'm a 60year old man and carry my man purse so they call them I have to carry my medication with me .I went into the store to buy a quart of black paint and a small painting tray i was approached in the paint isle by a very rude young man Eric who i have never seen before yelling at me telling me I new to check my bag at the front counter and I told him my medication and wallet is in here and he still insisted I do so .I told him no and took it to the cashier and paid he still continued to tell me he's just doing his job. I stated again that all customers were wearing masks, but her employees were not. She stated that it was too difficult for them in enforce. After walking the the Ace hardware store, Wendy walked out and helped me move the latch in place so I could drive safely. came here to get a key made for my roommate and it was an unpleasant experience from start to finish. it ended up costing me a lot of $$$, time, and energy to come to this Ace Hardware. -first key only half worked (could unlock the door but not lock it) -exchanged first key for another and the second one was difficult but worked at first, until it broke in half in the door after just one day of use -broke flush w the lock so we had to call a locksmith and shell out a grip of money -when I took the second key back, they said I couldn't exchange, return, or get store credit for it without a receipt I am out $7 for a clearly low quality key and out about a hundred more for having to hire a locksmith. I find it hard to believe that there was absolutely nothing that could be done about getting me my $7 back, which at least would have eased the sting of this situation. this location just doesn't seem to care for their customers much. I would recommend people take their business elsewhere. for reference, going to do the same task at Home Depot took only about 10 minutes and was done right the first time read more

I never thought I would ever be made to feel so out of place and disrespect at this Ace Hardware. The employees are always kind and helpful but NOT today. I walked in and said good morning to two male employees who didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge me. They however said good morning to the Caucasian man that came in behind me and asked him if he needed any assistance. No one ever checked to see if needed assistance. Also the young female cashier could use some customer service training and an attitude adjustment. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me at this ACE hardware. I get the $5 off coupon in the mail if you spend $20 or more. Today I bought washers for my garden hose and a bag of Scott's weed and feed the total was almost $24 and the clerk at the register would not take the $5 off because she said it's on sale. I told her it's a different brand that's on sale and she went to look and verified it was not marked on sale.. but still would not take the $5 off.. this location is very convenient for me but I will drive to Lowe's for now on. I was SO excited to hear that this location was under new ownership! I missed the grand opening and went in for the first time today. I entered passing two employees behind the paint counter visiting, neither acknowledged me. I continued down the center isle and see the same employee that has always been extremely rude under previous ownership. She moved to the other side of the isle and walked right by, never acknowledging me and did not ask if I needed assistance. I grabbed what I came in for, paid and left. I will not be returning. It is 4 blocks from my home but I will drive to the Ace at 67th and 101 OR go to Lowes. I LOVE Ace...especially during Christmas. My money will go elsewhere. read more

He waited over several customers that were there after me and very well knew it as I told him each time he helped them that I was there before them, three times!When I finally got his attention and showed him what I needed he said immediately that they didn't have any, very rudely. So I left the store to go to Home Depot maybe they have what I need. As I was pulling out of my parking space and said to my self you know what I bet they do have it as it is a very common item, so I pulled back in to my parking space and went back inside the store and found another CSR. He looked at what i needed and said he wasn't familiar with the item and he needed to ask another CSR for help. Needless to say he went to "TOM" who in turn told him right away where the item was. My husband and I have been to Ruggiero's Ace a couple of times since our neighborhood Ace started going under. The store is bright and clean and the shelves are well stocked - best of all are the employees. We learned that they are willing to help you find any item, even going the extra mile to check things on the computer if it is something not found on the shelf. On Jan. 9th we had the pleasure of meeting Candace and Sylvia. Both were extremely pleasant and we took up at least 15 minutes of their time. My husband and I LOVE this Ace and we'll be making it our favorite hardware store! read more

I was in need of a few items and thought Ace would have themes And is that the . I found those items then looked specifically for a plant stand. I was unable to find them and inquired, of Taylor, where they might be. He replied 2 isles over. I went over 2 isles and didn't find them so went to check out. I inquired as to if they stock them, was told he didn't know and asked Taylor. Taylor walked over to the isle and replied isle 19. I then took my cart over to isle 19 and was unable to find them. I'm sure they were in the store on isle 19 but never have I been in an Ace Hardware when an employee was not eager to assist me in finding what I was looking for. Taylor was apparently too busy stocking a shelf? I have previously patronized Ace Hardwares because of their customer service and eagerness to assist customers. But since I bought it at another store they wouldn't give me what I paid for it there, they gave me their price which was conveniently cheaper for them. I love this store and every employee I've dealt with to date. The staff is always eager to help the second I walk in the door and if they're busy, they'll still acknowledge me and help when they're free. We've been in dozens of times between my husband's home improvement projects and my craft whims and they (almost) always have exactly what we're looking for. The one occasion that they didn't carry the very unique part we needed, they referred us to a specialty store that did indeed have it. I have many different needs for my house on a regular basis. The most expensive repairs are my 6 fish tanks. When something goes wrong and speciality products are not needed like O rings, lights, or PVC I come here. The most recent trip was today to replace a O ring that was on line for over $20. We tried different sizes until we find one that worked, no luck. It has to be a custom made ring. Thanks to the men there I save lots of money again and got the product made on the spot for my uv light. Thank you again and we will see you again soon. read more

I haven't been at this store in a long time. Stopped by today to get some stuff. Never experienced bad customer service before but today was different. Cashier was not even looking at me, just rang my purchases and gave me the total. When I disputed that the item was on sale, he said it wasn't the right item. When I insisted, he asked someone to take a look at the price tag. Sure enough the sales price tag was incorrectly placed. I wanted the item and so I said I'll take it full price. Without even getting my okay, he made an adjustment so that the item would be at the sales price and he didn't look happy when he was doing it. When I repeated that I would pay the full price, he gave me a dirty look and said that he couldn't change it back. So I paid it. When he was giving me my change, he practically threw it at me. All this time there were no other customers waiting but he acted as if I was taking too much of his time. Not going back again. This was the only Ace store that I signed up for their rewards program, but I would rather buy what I need elsewhere. I felt like the cashier was very biased and I felt racially targeted.
