When I returned I took it in to the store and informed them it was defective. They had to test it which took about 15 min. They tried everything to get it work but they finally admitted it was defective. I asked the associate to just give me a new one that does work. They wanted me to pay for it. I said it didn't work why would I pay for another. They asked a manager but couldn't get an answer. After 25 min I just purchased another. I don't have time for horrible customer service. I came home and called the manager and they apologized but no refund. I don't care about the $24, it's the really poor customer service. Horrible

Online I found a Rubbermaid 32 gallon black can with wheels. This was a good deal. I didn't put the coupon code when I bought it online. I had to go to the back office and they had to cancel my order and then go up to the front and pay using the coupon. That was pretty silly. I then went to pick up the can. I had to go to the back of the store . One of the helpers went into where they store the online merchandise. He came back with the can and handed me a brand new can that had streaks of dust and dirt all over. It's not a big deal but I thought to myself, you would think the store would take some pride in keeping their products looking clean and new. Ace is a small outfit trying to compete with Low's and Home Depot. You would think customer service would be paramount in getting new business. They didn't win me over.

So I rambled off the two items I needed, gave him the two SKUs that Brian had given me over the phone, and voila. Easy peasy. I guess I should've mentioned that I called on the phone to check stock on the items I wanted. Brian answered. He physically checked the shelves because the numbers in the system showed quantities really close to the amount I needed. He wanted to put eyes on the product in case any had sold since system updated. He confirmed everything was in stock, but said he was leaving in less than 10 mins. That's how I got to deal with Jonathan in person. As I got rung up at the counter, Drew (he was at the neighboring cash register) asked about one of my co-workers. Aww, isn't it great when workers remember their customers? All in all, great customer service from Brian & Jonathan. Bonus for Drew remembering my co-worker. Store is clean and well-stocked. Although their online inventory shows certain items as "in stock", I would call the store if the quantities are pretty close to what you need.

I explain that I had for only 2 months and it broke the lady at the front said we only refund after a month. So I spend over $40.00 for something that only works for 2 months?? I threw it in the garbage and will never return to Ace Hardware in Youngtown. I will now shop at Home Depot or Lowes so if something does break I know I can exchange or refund. With different brands/options, we were looking to shop around, but with someone right there staring at you, it's kinda hard to review all the info and compare prices to other places online.
