Fantastic, old school fastener and hardware store, and one I wish I'd heard of sooner! Had not one but two occasions to shop here and I was not disappointed on either trip. Whether I needed 5/8" grade 8 bolts to mount a monster vise to my work bench or 8/32" filister head machine screws for a 1948 bench grinder, these guys pretty much have it all. The owners are super helpful, friendly and just all around great people. I'm looking forward to giving them more business, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for fasteners, especially over the big box and hardware chain stores. read more

I have been coming to Marks for about 5 years now. If ever you need a nut or bold these people have it from stainless to metric from great big to tiny. Just to see what they have is worth the trip to their store. Price is great. Most of the nuts and bolts are sold by weight not how many. I find they are at least 1/2 as expensive as a hardware store. If you are looking fore something and don't find what you want? Ask, if they have it they can direct you to the area. read more

I came here looking for some parts to fix my sewing machine, and during my visit I witness the owner being extremely rude and confrontational with another customer... the guy was nice and just asking questions , and the owner was very unhelpful and mean to him and I heard him say " don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out " ! ... It seems Mark got a few reviews over one bad customer. There are always 2 sides to a story. Every time I go in, I go down different isles exploring ideas to projects I didn't know had answers. Mark has a small shop and always tries to help point me in the right direction. Sewing machines have manufacturer specific parts. So do bikes. Be realistic folks. Does he have every answer or every nut and bolt? No. But neither did the store I just left. If you expect him to be God, and he falls short, Oh well, he's human, just like me. DONT USE THESE GUYS AT ALL they don't back up there parts or there employees because he is not Home Depot or a big company he cannot stand behind his parts and his hep. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Went here a few times never had a problem went there near closing time gave the owner samples of what I needed and told him needed exact thing I had flange bolts and nuts he started giving me regular nuts and bolts and told him I don't want lock washers and wanted nylon he started getting angry and aggressive just told him to get one time use l nuts went to shop and grabbed one bolt to start and he gave me bolts to short by 1/2 inch and I can't use them returned to him to tell him he gave me wrong parts and can just swap them out said he doesn't remember from a day ago and gave him the receipt he played dumb and said he didn't do it and some bs saying that I installed them when you can clearly see they were never used and original packaging. Don't go here I am telling all my over 300 customers and friends not to use them they don't back up there parts or customer service is horrible one thing doesn't go his way he flies off the handle ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK read more

Mark's is still my go-to place for first-quality bolts & nuts. His prices are by the pound for most, and not by the individual piece. What that means is that I can buy four projects worth of grade 5 and 8 bolts, washers and nuts, plus some stainless bolts & nuts for the price of about eight bolts at a hardware store. Mark's also has sheet metal screws, wood screws, brass screws (and bolts) as well as surplus & closeout things. Now as to those three one-star comments posted over a three day period in February, they look like they might have been written by the same person. Mark is a no-nonsense sort of guy. He has a low tolerance for rude people that demand things. But I have never seen him treat a customer like those comments claim. read more

This is THE place to come for all your bolt and nut needs. I found this store during my R/C Airplane days, so somewhere around 1995ish?. I do remember the store used to be on the east side of 67th when I first started going there. I tell everyone that will listen about this place. I have sent people that were shopping the 'big' stores to Mark's even in front of employees at Lowes as Home Depot.. hehe. I would never pay 4.95 for 5 bolts at the big box stores. Horribly rude. I witnessed mark the owner tell another customer to watch his ass on the way out. All the guy wanted was the correct bolt for his bike. If you can't get help from mark (bolts and nuts)? Then idk. But when you own a business you have to think about everyone but yourself don't go here on principal. read more

This place is great. I can look around and put together ideas and options with different hardware in my head without feeling like I'm wasting one's time and getting looked at like I'm an idiot. The prices are a little high in my opinion for everything being "Surplus" but that's his right to make whatever profit margin he wants...Its my choice to buy or not. Well.....so I am building this parrot aviary, and I need 50 bolts and nuts and I know if I buy at a regular hardware store it is gonna cost me like 50 plus bucks or even more so I look for a bulk place via the internet. I don't want to wait until they ship it to me so I look for a local place and I find Mark's in Glendale. It's like 3:30pm when I finally get the time to go there and I live midtown Phoenix so it takes me like an hour to drive there because of rush hour. I get there at 4:45 and to make it easier on him (since he knows where everything is and it would take me a while looking around to find what I want) so I show him the bolt I brought and told him I want one a little thinner and a little longer and I need 50 of them. Boy talk about abrupt and rushed and kind of pissed off. Look, I know he wanted to go home but I had to drive an hour to get there during rush hour so I would think he would have been a tad nicer. Anyway I sort of joked around with him and told him that it said nice things about him on the internet but maybe someone needs to rewrite that review and it must be time for a vacation. He was actually really funny and said, those people who write nice things ruin it for everyone and you can't believe what you read! He had to smile a bit, so me and the other guy in the store laughed and it was all good ! Wished I could have had time to look around cause it looks like they got EVERYTHING ! He did ask me if they didn't sell bolts on my side of town and I just said, Nope. No bolts. He smiled again. It cost me about 10 bucks instead of over 50. So if he seems a little gruff when you go in there....he isn't really gruff don't let him fool ya...he is just trying to live up to his sweet personality they wrote about him ! read more
