Wow! I can't believe I haven't been to this Ace Hardware store in years. I had it in my mind I knew where the the aisles would be, no not even. As I walked in the first thing I noticed was the whole store was rearranged. All I came here to buy was fluorescent light bulbs. I mean I managed to find them quite quickly but even so the aisles were much longer than before. As anyone shopping for anything now many of the expensive items are locked up, which makes the shopping experience not so easy like it used to be. Just glad I was only looking for light bulbs and not something that was locked up. I have been a customer of the Ace Hardware stores for many years and only because I don't have to wonder through a bunch of items like your big hardware stores. Changes sometimes takes one to get used to but I don't often stop at this store very often so it's a good thing for me. This store is very busy on weekends and glad I have the opportunity to shop during the week. One thing I can say is that they always have good employees that are helpful. The store is kept up pretty much and service is good. I will probably stop by again when I am nearby. read more

Had a horrible experience with two employees this morning. Came to the store in need of help. Asked first employee for assistance in finding an item that the store sells refused to look up item just flat out said we don't sell those. I showed her on my phone that they indeed do sell the item. She did not look up the item just said we don't sell those. They indeed do. Explored the store for my item when I ran across another employee. I asked for assistance and he told me that because I upset the cashier by asking a question about an item in the store that he couldn't help me. Very odd. I've come to the conclusion that the two am shift people would rather be sleeping than working. I would not recommend this store to anyone even if they needed something from it. I'd cheerfully tell them to order it on line because the owner of the store doesn't care about the customers by having such horrible employees there. read more

We entered the store in search of a water compression valve. Joey approached us offering to help. She was very engaging, funny and polite. Unfortunately we had no luck finding the valve in the cabinet. Joey was not about to give up, she checked other isles, again no luck. Joey was still hopeful. She suggested we check the clearance table. As we were moving items on the table around, there it was. Only one left. I am totally out of my element in hardware stores and Joey made it so much easier and fun. I actually returned the next day and she helped me again. Thanks so much for helping us Joey. I thought I was doing a good deed to help support local business by shopping here. No more. I bought a desktop electric fan YESTERDAY and tried to return it today with a receipt because it had no power. No returns of electronic items are permitted as a matter of store policy. Yes, there are little green stickers everywhere saying returns of electronic equipment will be restricted but this isn't a computer. It defies common sense. Buyer beware!!! I was looking for a good glue for a plaster-type statue. One of our medical people accidentally hit a religious statue while in a patient's home and it broke in two places. We cannot find a replacement for the statue so I set out to look for some glue that would really hold the statue back together, and hopefully not looked cracked. I was greeted immediately when I came in the door by Jimmy. I explained to him what I needed and he took me right to a product that he strongly recommends. He explained how to use it, and I answered all of my questions. I will definitely come here before going to one of the bigger home-improvement stores because you never get this level of service there. I have been going to sines since they were in the other location downtown Glendale some 30 years ago ? gone there 3 times last month ist time as i was walking out door i realized something wasnt right with receipt i was charge for something i didnt buy immediately went back to cashier and she couldnt understand how that could happen got a manager who wanted to know were item was she said i never had item He acted like i was trying to steal something cashier argued with him that there never was product finally got my money back no apology or sorry at all next time i went in 1 item no prob went back few days ago as im watching the items being entered i saw one fitting come up as 10 fittings i pointed it out to cashier once again manager doesnt apologize or say sorry they just re wring it up right way wondering if they are ripping people off this way sadly wont be returning to this store read more

Dutcher is the best, and no, I'm not related or his personal friend! I just felt compelled to write a positive experience I had this afternoon, where I came in to look for some bolts, he was in the back storage, and as soon as he saw me he jumped out and asked if I needed some help. being that this store has million nuts and bolts and other fasteners, I accepted his offer and cut my search time. In no time he had me fixed up and I was ready to check out. He was personable , knowledgeable and very helpful. I couldn't help but noticing that other person slammed him down, those kind of people will never take the time to write something nice, only complains! perhaps spoiled brats... I have a commercial acct with this store, twenty plus years. Just am suggesting that if you are planning to buy a cooler pump go somewhere else, there 1 year warranty is a joke. Bought a unit 5 months ago used for 3 months and stopped working. Told me to place a cover over unit and warranty was voided due to water damage. If you are going to sell a non sealed unit and warranty it in a environment that is very moist ( evaporate cooler) a dome over the unit will not do a bit of good. something has really changed at this store...it's bad! I ordered online and picked it up at the store...the pick up was a fiasco. It took 3 employees to figure out how to process my order. after inspecting the product I decided to return it. Online cust service told me I had to return it to the store so back I went. When i told the counter clerk I wanted to return an online order he told me you can't return those orders with an attitude on his Justin Bieber face...After 10 minutes someone from the office figured out how to get it returned. I was disappointed when the key cutter told me that my key required chip technology. It would be $75 to key a chip key. I actually was thankful they had the equipment to ma..ke the key. I've been 2 this loc8ion several Xs & have always been able 2 get what I came in 4 & even some things I didn't originally intend 2 get. As a woman, I have 2 say that this place deserves 5* as my interaction w/ most of the gents working here, never felt rude, uncomfortable or condescending in any way... even when I didn't quite know the name of things I was describing what they do, referring 2 them as thingamajiggy or whatchamacallit, they would promptly direct me right 2 whatever I was seeking. That is a Huge + in addition 2 getting the immedi8 help w/o having 2 look all over the store when pressed 4 time. Wish 1/2 stars were available but seeing as they're not, my only reason 4 giving 1 star less is someXs the checkout gals leave quite a bit of something 2 b desired. I by no means expect some1 2 b fake or overjoyed when working, but @ least b decent 2 customers as ur the last impression we leave w/. There's been a few Xs when I was lucky 2 get a grunt from 1 of them. Another time I had 2 turn around & come back because the discount coupon wasn't reflected on my receipt which was the entire reason we went there instead of somewhere closer. For 17+ years I have been coming here when I need hardware stuff. Almost every hard to find item I have brought in they have been able to get and most of it has been in stock. After shopping at this store for many years and always receiving great customer service I will be taking my business to one of many other places to purchase hardware. After more than 40 years of shopping there, I needed a $4 part from a locked case. I had a couple of other items that I also wanted to purchase but was informed by the associate that they needed to take the $4 part to the register. In all the years I have shopped there this was the first time that has ever happened in that store. I was tempted to leave the entire order but did not. After several days I decided to return the order and speak to a manager. I was informed that that was store policy because of the area. If this company is going to lose a customer over a $4 part there are many other places to take my business. No apology needed. Good luck staying in business. read more

If you want customer service, stay away from this store. I tried to bring back two plastic wrapped air filters and exchange them the correct size. Same Ace brand, same price, still wrapped in the plastic, just different sizes. The manager on duty (Manny?) informed me that since it had been more than 90 days I was out of luck. He stated it was company policy. While I try to use local businesses, I know that Lowe's or Home Depot would not have hesitated to make the exchange. I guess I will go to them from now on. read more

It's pretty sad when you get treated like crap at a place you used to work at. I stopped by yesterday to get some paint shook that I previously had purchased and to get more. Chris helped me out. While I was waiting for the paint to shake and pick out another color, Chris went to help another customer. Cool, no problem with that. Craig appeared and started asking me questions. He did not listen very well. He became rude and condescending and acted like he was being inconvenienced by a "stupid" person. Of course I went on the defensive after that. Craig can be helpful, but he needs to check his attitude at the door or get out of the business. Chris came back and took care of my order. I will continue to shop here because I do like most of the employees and enjoy seeing and joking with them. Next time I'll just ignore the grumpy old man! ;) read more

This is store is amazing! When I can't find something at Lowes (close to my home), I will drive to Ace and they always have what I can't find at the larger businesses. Its crazy how such a small store can have things a large warehouse doesn't care. Staff is always friendly and greats me at the door. If they don't have something in stock they can order it for you. Last year I wanted the Christmas tree storage bag, they sold out on the first day of the ad, but they ordered one for me and called me the next day to say it had arrived from another store. So I went to shop at this location on Sunday. One of the sales associate help me find what I need he was very helful.As I process to the checkout to pay I handed the cashier 40.00 he used his pen to check my bills and that fine .Then he tell me one of the twenties is not real I said excuse me and calls for a manager. After being humiliated and waiting for a manager for more than 15minutes .I gave the cashier onther twenty and educated him how to check for a counterfeit Bill using his finger. After I paid I still waited to speak to the manager by the name Susie but again she never came to the front. So when I came home I called the store to speak to Susie she never picked up the call and passed the call to Cassandra .I my self nor my family and friends will never shop at this store and I will also but this in a monthly news letter that goes out to my community.I as call corporation and the phone just keep hanging up. My mother who is almost 88 yrs, was in this store on Saturday, tripped on their rug, and fell. Luckily she didn't break any bones, but tore her skin and has bruises now. THe people took her name and phone number and not ONE person has called to she how she is doing. I called twice for the owner, but was convienently out. I will never step foot in this store again. It's not the neighborhood store you want to go to anymore. I have been going to this Ace for 30 years. Since they changed ownership the quality of everything about the store has gone down. They use to go out of their way to help you out with advice or to make sure you wanted to come back. The last two times I have gone to do business with them it was a fiasco. 1) Using a coupon: I eventually was able to use it but only after I continued to show them the coupon was a better savings for me than the discount they wanted to give me. 2) I bought two different sized items to see which one would be best. Didn't use the item I wanted to return but the cashier insisted on making a case the package had been opened. Then made a case to say, "it appears you didn't use it". Really? Nice work Inspector! What happened to hassle free returns? I use to go here a lot to get items for the home. Now I go to Lowe's or even Home Depot. At least they are making an effort to bring a customer back. read more

Today, i visited T&M Ace Hardware to find small push nuts. When they told me that they were $.27 each, I thought the price was high. I drove to Sine Ace Hardware, and discovered that their price for the same nut was $.49 each. I asked the "manager" Suzy if she would price match the other Ace harware price. Without even considering the request, she flatly told me that there was nothing she could do. I asked her if she was willing to lose a customer that has been shopping at Sine for over 30 years, she again said there was nothing she could do. With the priceing pressures that the internet is applying to retail establishments, managers like Suzy, who are completly cluless when it comes to service, will destroy brick and mortar business. I have been in retail my entire professional life, and have never received such poor service. I will never shop at Sine Hardware again, and will encourage my large circle of friends to stay away as well. read more
