I went to Karsten's Ace Hardward store forthe first time, just moved here. The cashier at the entry greeted me asked if I needed help finding something and gave me the aisle number for the plant stakes. The bamboo plant stakes are the cheapest price here in town. That was the reason for going there. On the way there 2 other guys asked me if I needed help. Then after I got my plant stakes in the center aisle was Ace the Cat looking at me! He's definately a cutie in the store and has night duty catching rodents. Another clerk said the cat in the open are of the store outside is Lola. I'll visit her next time. Bought 2 large 50amp construction power cables at the Ace in surprise but only ended up needing one. Tried to return the item here since it was a mile from my home and they would not accept the return. I had the receipt in hand and it was two weeks old. Manager complains that the staff screwed things up, the owners have ignored emails and corporate customer service is as dumb as a rock. On Thursday Feb 10 bought a chainsaw at store #1479 In Goodyear, the guy that help didn't seem to want to help or explain which chainsaw would be better. So I still purchase one, when I get home I researched about it. Came in on Sunday Feb 13 to exchange for a different model. Haven't use the item, policy say on the receipt if not use for 7 days you may return or exchange it . When I told the guy that I wanted to exchange explaining to him it's only been 4days not use he said that, no you cannot return it. The guy did not listen. I said it twice it's not been use and it's only been 4 days. The customer service here is very sad and they don't seem to want to help you or just doesn't want to do any of the work or listen to what the customer has to say already assuming that it was use already. :( will never come here again to purchase anything anymore. read more

Now that Ace sells Craftsman tools with their lifetime warranty; I brought them a quarter inch ratchet wrench that broke: They would not replace it or help in any way because they did have that item number: I purchased the item over 30 years ago; of course the number has changed. While not always the cheapest of the hardware stores you atleast will always be able to find help when walking in or calling. I ordered a grill online and called to see where to pick it up after speaking to someone they had to check on a couple things and they called me back and let me know it was ready and where to get it. Excellent products featured and number one company management and customer service. I had an issue with one of their products. The Store Manager reviewed my concern and made his decision based on my satisfaction. I was quickly provided a better product and did not have any problems with my return. I realize larger warehouse companies have more selection, but in reality, ACE Hardware has all the high quality products too,plus better service. I have decided that the personal attention by the ACE Hardware staff gives me "special" attention. I am much more comfortable with a company that I can trust and I leave feeling I got a great deal. We have been here a few times since it has opened. It of course is a nice clean new store that is easy to navigate. The folks here are helpful and are more than willing to stock what you need if they do not yet have it. The prices are in line with the rest of these kinds of stores. The location is now the closest to our home so they will see a lot of us as we love to spend money on things for our home that we do not need. Came in needing air filters and there just happened to be a promotion "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" going on. The incompetent cashier couldn't honor the promotion for the either of the 2 sets of 3 air filters we kept going back to the shelves and getting, calls the manager up and he says it's only good for the "red" labeled filters. With only one of those left in stock, he refuses to apply the promo to similar air filters (which were within the price range of the promo anyway AND the same brand). The fine print of the flyer did not specify which one was under the sales promotion and he refused to work something out with us. This whole ordeal took us 15 minutes standing at the register and moving out of the way a few times while the cashier helped other customers while we were given the run around. We left very unsatisfied. This Ace is not the place for customer satisfaction. We will be taking our business else where. read more

I ran into this ace hardware to pick up electrical part my contractor needed to finish work. I found staff too busy talking to help me. The worst part was I was second in line to check out. Another customer got in line behind me. Clerk opened another register and helped person behind me instead of calling me. Two days ago, we went to the Goodyear location to buy some cleaning products. We accidentally dropped a plastic bottle at the register and the top broke off creating a puddle. The face on the guy behind the register went to instant pissed off and I don't understand why since it was obviously an accident. He rung up our products and I paid the bill. He pushed the bottles toward us, and we were confused. We had to ask for a bag and he replied "I don't have any bags". Then he finally gave us a tiny paper bag which only held 2 bottles. As I carried the rest of the bottles in my hand to the car I told my wife "what a bad attitude on that guy". They don't have anything in that store that I can't get in Home Depot so I will not be returning there anymore. The dude needs anger management. The receipt says "We appreciate you" then underneath that it says Keegan who obviously did not appreciate us. read more

I've had two rough experiences here. One week ago I came here for a keyed doorknob and after having talked a a few associates who said they don't rekey locks someone said they do but it would be an hour before I could get my lock. I returned today and went through something similar although the lock only took about 15 minutes this time. I also think a $12 charge to rekey a lock I am buying from the store anyways is ridiculous considering an ACE I used to work at did not charge and most places don't. He said they were all invalid and when I told him no I just got them in the mail he pretty much wrote it off as if I was stupid. Excellent customer service!! My husband needed a new chainsaw and wanted Stihl. We went to a couple stores but they were sold out of the model he wanted, not Ace though. SO GLAD we went to Ace! Dan assisted us, educated us on the model and maintenance and was just awesome! They took it outside, fired it up and it's been great ever since! I have always liked Ace Hardware stores. I remember following my Father up and down the aisles on Saturday mornings. When first going to this particular Ace, I thought.."oh, a typical Ace with high prices..". However, that is not the case at all! The associates have very nice personalities and they give you experienced and honest opinions on home projects. I trust their opinions! The store is always tidy and spotless. Customers are always greeted. The best part is that they send you amazing coupons in the mail! Its not like most of the preferred customer cards that do nothing..these guys hook it up! Drop by.. it beats walking a mile on hard cement floors at Home Depot and then another mile to find help and then waiting 10 minutes after they walkie someone that has the answer to your question...Come on by! read more

I love this Ace. Lots of horse products! The staff are friendly and helpful. My husband & I were looking for a rope ratchet. They work excellent for high lining horses. An employee named Kent offered to help us look. He wasn't quite sure what it was so he looked it up on his phone. Unfortunately they didn't carry that item. He said he had seen them at TSC. We bought a couple of the ergonomic horse buckets.. .check them out!! So cool, never seen them in any other store. (Not even cal ranch or tsc). While we were checking out, Kent found us and told us he would be stocking rope ratchets in the future...Awesome!! Love this store. If you're a horse person the selection is abundant and unique. There was one younger guy named GEORGE who I was asking about nails and he kept mimicking me. If I went "awe thats too bad" he would mimic my "Awe" exactly! He also kept changing his tone of voice to sound like a weirdo. It was so distracting and disrespectful. He then after all the mimicking and voice changing went to help a guy next to us and was completely professional and I thought what the heck seriously why was he doing this weird stuff around us? I honestly felt like because we were women he was treating us like a pervert. I love going to that ace hardware but I wont be going back with that weirdo there. read more
