I've never had a issue at this store, but today I decided to stop by after the gym to grab some hardware and was immediately chased down by an older gentlemen who told me I needed to put my gym bag up front. I am well into my 40's, fully employed, not a kid or a homeless person. It rubbed me the wrong way so I opted to leave. No one wants to be treated like a shoplifter especially if you've been a loyal customer in the past. It just looks bad. No wonder people prefer to shop online. read more

Had a pest problem in my apartment and was able to drop in here like 10 minutes before closing. The employee pointed me straight to the aisle I needed and grabbed an extra item in time to cash out. Been here a hundred times in the past five years. since it is so close (7th St and Bethany Home Road). They have just about all you need to make sure your house is up to par with repairs or remodeling. No vet discount would make it a better place to visit but for a five-minute turnaround for that perfect electrical plug or can of paint or tool is not too bad. This Ace is the only Ace Hardware that does not offer a veteran discount. Their selection is limited. Their employees do not seem to understand their company's values. Comparatively speaking, the P.V. and north Phoenix locations have a broader selection, offer more knickknacks, and most importantly, honor active duty military personnel and veterans. read more

Yesterday was my first and absolutely last visit to this store. I had two keys made, and predictably, one didn't work. Perhaps the girl couldn't comprehend that I wanted all the keys to match, but that's hard to do when she's more focused on her AirPods than the customer. The staff here are utterly untrained and act like a bunch of indifferent high school kids. Cashiers are great nice and friendly, very welcoming. I Came here to try an return a set of sockets that I bought that same day. Allen the manager was a big jerk saying he doesn't return tools. Worst Ace - I recommend going to any location besides this one. All the employees are teenagers except for the manager who is the grumpiest, most unhelpful human ever. They did a color match that was incorrect and when I returned to have them adjust the color, the manager refused saying there was nothing they could do. So what did I do? I went to the Ace on Indian School and guess what -- they had no problem correcting the color for me. AND they were pleasant and helpful! Avoid the Ace on 7th Street unless you prefer terrible customer service. read more

This place sucks. One of the employees knew nothing and mansplained to me multiple times. For example, I asked him about a specific product and he called me out for mispronouncing it slightly, but he then proceeded to use multiple different pronunciations and did not know what it was or where it was located. This is the worst Ace hardware you could visit if you're trying to get some thing immediately. If you have time I suggest you go elsewhere, perhaps even a depot! This place is over priced, lacks expertise and has poor business acumen! I dislike the store because very few of the assistant are actual experts in the department they work in. I have assistance (DIY) items that they have suggested only to find out when it didn't work and when I tried to return or exchange, they would never take a refund or an exchange. I have ordered paint that they have missed mixed, and I had to get stern and perhaps even belligerent to get a refund even after taking a picture of the mismatch paint job. The only thing I've been able to successfully do at this hardware is make copies of keys and even that cost me over $10 for two keys. I have spent too much money that has not been refunded here. And I do not feel that the staff is skilled to be manning the department they work. can I suggest you go somewhere else where but definitely do not come here! read more

At this location -every employee was a teenager - and the full 10 minutes we were there- they were popping plastic bags. Horrible experience at Ace Hardware, 5555 N. 7th St. #106 Phoenix, AZ 85014 Color match nightmare. I returned to store after discovering color matched paint was wrong color. The mgr, Jeanette Edward's was extremely rude and confrontational. No apology and she informed me that "discount " price paint could not be returned, although I had not been informed at the time of purchase and this policy was not in writing. She hurriedly did another color match, I paid for the new paint and discovered that the color was again incorrect (this time too light). I had to cancel the Airbnb photographer appointment and forfeited $120. I witnessed the store mgr treating other customers and staff in an equally rude and disrespectful manner. read more

Eddie is not the man. So sure of himself, he did not care to look for my propeller fan motor. "We have it" he assured me 3 times. After i repeatedly asked him to look, since i had been to 3 stores already. Upon arrival he shows me 2 wheel fan motors.... Complete fail and waste of my gas and time. It is time to update my review of this Ace near my home. The owner of this Ace Hardware has really turned around the attitude of his employees. Yes, I may pay a bit more here than if I drove to Home Depot but it sure saves time. I walk in their with some strange requests, I admit, but they will work with me. I am an artist and buy parts totally unrelated to what they are made for, often enough. The latest was to find something that I could put around the base of my umbrella so it wouldn't fly out of the umbrella table when we get some good winds. (The last one ended up in my neighbors patio. They helped me to find something I never would have considered and I walked out happy. The main thing is they usually ask you for help when you first walk in the door. They will also, at the front, get someone to come and help you find what you need. This is a great time save and example of good customer service. It never fails to amaze me as well the little things they will have that I don't expect. I like just wondering in their to see the different things. One peculiarity of the owner. When it says they close at a certain time, they do. If they say they close at 6 pm and you get there at 6:35 pm, they will be closed. THat's not a complaint on my part. Just something, I think you should now at Yelp. read more

Tim is unbelievably nice. I had to put a license plate on my car and I didn't have bolts, when I couldn't find one that would fit he helped me then realized that one of my attachments was stripped. He then proceeded to rethread the attachment and bolt my license plate to my car. All in 106 degrees!! He wouldn't even take my tip, said it was his job to help. I have been in this neighborhood about 6 months and I keep trying to make this Ace my local hardware store. The cashiers could care less and now I know why. The manager/owner doesn't about his customers either. I had a return from a different Ace this morning. Christmas lights purchased yesterday. He refused to take them back since I wasn't making another purchase today. Didn't offer a store credit. Just said he didn't stock them last year or this because he has to clearance them the year before. I can appreciate as a small business owner you don't want inventory that may not sell. The Ace return policy says nothing about having to return items to the same store where they were purchased. The lights are not defective. But this store is. Save yourself and drive farther to a different Ace where they are courteous and appreciate their customers. read more

I have been going to this Ace Hardware for years and they have always been fantastic! Located in a shopping center at 7th street and Missourri, it's easily accessed from either street. Parking is usually good, but sometimes you have to park a little deeper in the parking lot because this shopping center gets pretty busy at times. The building is an older one, but very well maintained and clean. Walking in, you get the same feeling- clean and well kept. Their staff is friendly and willing to help. Allen and Ginnette have been an immense help over the years because they are a wealth of knowledge. They are the main reason I keep going back to this store! Now, as for the stock, it's a hardware store. They have all the same stuff as any hardware store, USA. Prices are pretty normal and I feel fair. Their staff does do a pretty good job of keeping the shelves stocked, so it's rare for them not to have something and the selection of small stuff like nuts and bolts is fantastic!
