I love this location. I have gone down there for so many reasons but the most recent 2, a kind person took the time to show me how to use my new cordless drill! Which was exciting because I've never used a power tool before. Also , I know this sounds crazy but I've also taken a shampoo bottle down there when I couldn't get it open. I have not experienced a level of incompetence and perhaps intentionally dealing in bad faith. I am so sorry I chose the Glendale Arizona Home Depot store to purchase a refrigerator. I went in this past Saturday to purchase a refrigerator to be delivered to my home. I was told at the time the delivery would take place 4 days later on that next Wednesday. Fine. On Tuesday I received a text stating the delivery had been moved to the following week on Tuesday. I called the store and spoke I guess with the Store Manager. I guess. He did sound real eager to help, but he passed it on to a person in the appliances department. The gentleman di call me back and said I could chose a similar model and have it delivered on Friday. Not the original date but 2 days later. That was better than having to wait until the following week. I was also lied to that a truck had broken down. Come to find out the Home Depot didn't even have the refrigerator at their warehouse, but were waiting on a shipment. So I said, just refund the money and I'll go elsewhere to buy the refrigerator. They could do that either, because in their system it takes 48 to 72 hours to cancel and get my money back. I was also told this manager was working on the backside to push it through, and I would get a call from him. This was last Tuesday. I called the store to get an update from the manager. I was told I would get a call back. Here we are Thursday evening, no updated call from the manager or anyone from the store. No refund, and no additional money to go out and buy a refrigerator somewhere else. Oh, and I was told the refund would come in a store credit. Why would I be forced to have to use my money to buy from the people who could not perform as promised? Made no serious attempt to rectify the situation or call me back with a basic update from a customer service standpoint. The fish stinks from the head down, as they say. It was my fault because I chose to use Home Depot. I don't believe I will be able to trust them in the future. Very disappointing and a very bad display of how not to making things right from a customer service standpoint. I had already made arrangements and changed my work schedule to be available on the agreed upon date of delivery. I explained that change was not going to work. I had dropped thousands there. Good green money, sweated out in factories and bad typing pools, trying to fix up this crumbling tomb of a house. The paint had separated. Oil and water. Like everything else in this life. I went in on a Tuesday. Asked the kid with the paint drops on the apron, "Can I bring a bucket of paint back? Can you shake it?" "Sure," the kid said. "Bring it in." It was a lie, of course. But I didn't know it yet. So I came back the next morning. Humping this five-gallon heavy bastard across the asphalt, my back aching like a rotten tooth. I walked in, sweating, hoping for a small mercy. Then I saw the woman behind the counter. I saw the look. The look of the gatekeeper. The look that says: You lose. "Can't do it," she said. "Company policy. Once it's open, we don't touch it." "But the kid yesterday..." I started. "Company policy," she said again. She didn't look at me. She looked through me, at some paradise of rules and regulations where nothing ever spills. So they wasted my time. They wasted my back. I went home and called the manager, looking for a reason, looking for a human voice. I got the hold ring. Not even violins playing to a graveyard. Don't bother ordering stuff from Home Depot's website. I ordered a smoker and the box was BADLY damaged. The side of the smoker was scratched and they expected me to pay full price. I got them to knock down the price. Took it home to put it together only to find a handle is missing from my order? I talked with 3 different people telling me they would expedite shipping of said handle. I stated from the beginning I was missing the handle only. They confused a handle for the entire smoker. I'm not sure how they could confuse something like that. I am still waiting to hear back from the vendor on my handle. Home Depot store wasn't very helpful other than telling me what I already have been told. I will NEVER order anything from Home Depot ever again. There is literally one person in this Home Depot that is rude has zero to none. Customer service ability and talks to people as if they are garbage. And I wonder how he is allowed to do that. I don't know if people just don't stand up to him or if his supervisors continue to allow him to do it since he has been the subject of a complaint multiple times. This person's name is Mike. He usually sits in the back by the doors, but his most problematic time is when he is outside in the parking lot if he doesn't like the way, you drive the way you park he will come up to you and make a snide rude comment. I don't understand why he continues to be employed by them even though his customer service skills are lacking. We have been working on an outdoor habitat for a newly adopted rescued Sonoran desert tortoise in our backyard. We were able to keep it affordable and get the look we wanted plus make it completely useful and safe for the tortoise. She is secure in her area plus she has plenty of native plants to munch on and soft organic soil to dig in. Her burrow came out perfectly and we even purchased a hummingbird feeder for the space. Went far away from home in hopes of finding a better garden section at Home Depot than the one closest to me. Well, turns out that the drive was worth it!! I found the most perfect mini cacti and succulents for an event that I'm helping with. They had a HUGE selection! Their garden flowers were also amazing. They were so healthy, colorful, and the selection was plentiful, so I picked up some flowers for my pots as well. I really never thought I would be writing a review for this Home Depot or for that matter any Home Depot. This particular store sits on the northeast corner of Cave Creek Road and Thunderbird Road. Came here to buy replacements for the bathroom. Being that the boxes are big and heavy, I got an employee to help placing the items on a flat cart. By the time we had to get the bigger item there just happened to be another employee who helped out as well. On the way to check out the lady assisting at the register said after I pay she would get someone to help with loading the items in our vehicle. This time there were three of them. Sure enough they were extra careful and I didn't have to say anything, they were extremely helpful as well as careful not to drop any of the boxes. Plus I get a discount for being a military veteran when I purchase items from them. So not only were the items we bought were discounted in price but I got another discount for being a veteran. Overall I found the employees to be very helpful and courteous at this store which makes me come to this particular store more often. If I wasn't buying anything I would just be browsing the store and who knows what I would buy. A big shout out to the employees who helped loading up the vehicle, much appreciated. read more

Paint staff wear masks under their nose and mouths.... obviously they don't want to wear one, so just making a show of it without actually covering their orifices. Bought some paint and the color didn't match the swatch. Huge hassle to have to go back and argue about their unreturnable paint that doesn't match with sample. read more

Often find what I need here, but had a really poor experience tonight. Stopped by to purchase paint and the person working the counter (Yogee?) was incredibly unhelpful and borderline mean. I admitted I needed a little help because I'm not used to buying paint and was looking for guidance on sheen, etc. He would only give one word answers and I finally gave up. I'm bummed because our handyman is coming tomorrow and now I won't have paint! I do take responsibility for not having better communication and finding someone else to help me or another way to solve my challenge. Honestly, I got really flustered by the poor treatment. I decided to stop in here this morning to see if I can get my 10% veterans discount on some prior purchases. Stopped in at the refund desk. Nope. First I was told I had to do it within two or three days. Then she told me I had to do it within 30 days. Thinking I didn't like that answer, I called the manager of the store. Albert, the HR manager, told me that if I brought the receipts and proof that I was a veteran, they would honor the refund. Cannot beat customer service like that. Like all Home Depot's it can be difficult to locate help in certain areas of the floor but if you have a general idea of where to look you can find most anything. I went with a friend and she made a positive comment on the amount of indoor plants they had. I did find that the staging of people for the self-checkout was a bit weird - they were being directed towards an aisle that was congested so it made things a bit difficult for those looking at items in that area and also for those exiting the building from that aisle. read more

Having an absolutely terrible experience buying automated rolling custom blinds from Home Depot for the sliding glass door in our living room, and it's still not over. The process started well. The salesperson came over, looked at our project, helped us select options, was very professional, pricing was reasonable, gave us a realistic expectation about timeline for production given supply chain challenges at the time we ordered, back in September, 2021. I don't even blame Home Depot for that timeline getting pushed in the process even later due to these issues, with the blinds finally being shipped locally the first few days of December. I do however blame Home Depot for having the worst installation team ever, and that these blinds remain sitting on our living room floor almost 2.5mos later!! That's right, we paid in full for these blinds almost six months ago, but they are in packaging in our home because they can't find an installer to call us back and get these hanging. One issue is that there is a cornice in place above the doors that can't be moved, one that will hide the roller part of the blinds that was present at the time the initial installer came to do final measurements for the blinds before the order was ever placed. I think the hope was that it could be taken down and then put back up but it appears to have been built in place at the time the house was constructed. But there is 6.5inches of clearance for a bent screwdriver or other tool that one would think is available at...well, Home Depot. And they know this because I've sent pictures to the helpful salesperson with a tape measure in the shot. Our salesperson has intervened with corporate to get a new installer assigned who reportedly is aware of the tricky install and says he can do it, but despite calls from all sides to even get an install date on the books, none of us can even get a call back. Maybe I'll update if these ever get hung. Currently I've spent thousands of dollars for an embarrassing mess on my floor. read more

I provide a letter, Homedepot required that it be on a formal document, which I provided. So this is the second time I went to the doctor to get a letter to provide to Home Depot. My doctors letter read that I can only work four hours a day and that I need 15 minute break every two hours. Five days after that I was called in the office with my department head and the stores HR representative whose name is Albert. I have been to my fair share of Home Depots and other similar stores. This one is fairly standard - set up the same as all the other locations, so it is easy to find what you need. Employees are friendly and happy to help you find anything you need. There are usually enough checkout lanes open, or there is also always the self checkout lane. There isn't anything that really sets this one apart from other locations, however, they are still great. Thanks! I asked an employee if masks were mandatory and she said yes but there were groups of people not wearing them. She informed me they ask customers to put them on but don't enforce it. Do NOT ever use this Home Depot and specifically avoid the home remodel (contracting services) at this Cretin Creek Home Depot, or any other service here for that matter- just use your own GC if you purchase materials or get your items from another Home Depot / Lowe's. Case in point, here us what we have to say about the Cave Creek Home Depot (aka Cretin Creek Depot)- Design Center and contracting services. I will do my best to hold back any resentment towards the incompetents we had to deal with and present a factual review here. 1. We had a very poor customer service experience with a bathroom remodel with this store that completed several weeks ago. Very little attention to detail from the design with major service flaws from employee to manager and multiple order revisions to our order made midstream. On the day, the kitchen remodel was scheduled, their services subcontractor, Metropolitan Construction, did not know what was on the scope of work for installation!!! This is the worst experience I have ever had to deal with in regards to home contractors to date - major fact. Home Depot did not offer survey or an effective way to give its leadership feedback on its GC services or general contractor for cabinets on this project - another unmistakable fact. 2. Home Depot does not warrant or place service guarantees on 3rd party contractor work which is what they use at present - they used GC services of Metropolitan Contracting for our kitchen remodel, and their main guy Jason, did not return phone calls nor follow-up with cabinet installation and drywall patchwork they needed to do as a result of work. If they failed in any area or follow-up was required from a mistake, nothing was done on behalf of Home Depot. 3. There is the complete absence of project management of centralized ownership - the store employees do not remain centrally accountable or answer with one service manager, and give you excuses every single time you file a complaint. We had to go back and fix multiple issues that our service designer, Bill could not fix with the GC nor hold him accountable for anything after an installation missed certain important details or a target date for install. 4. My wife and I had to call and follow-up and act as project manager of multiple projects related to the cabinet install because of the absence of their overall services management. In addition to this, my wife was displaced and had to live with our in-laws while I dealt with the majority of the service issues encountered: flaws post cabinet installation, rushed contractor work, missed measurement dates, shoddy patchwork which impacted our home, missed electrical wiring work (Impacted our waste disposal / sink install), non-functioning outlet after the install, etc. We signed up for a 4-week project which we indicated to our service designer, spent over $15K on labor and materials and in effect went through a nightmare with poor quality contracting for cabinet and countertop installs. We received an 8-week, nickel-and-dime project which had multiple delays caused by the poor quality services, lack of accountability and Home Depot's 2nd rate general contractor which did not work with us on the issues, Metropolitan GC services. If I could rate them zero or negative stars, I would certainly opt for that instead. This definitely impacted my relationship with Home Depot and I have given them business for over 2.5 years.
