I was surprised at how educated the staff were. Recently, my little brother mentioned he wanted to get engaged at a nursery because his Fiance loves plants. I recommend this nursery and after talking to the staff they helped create the perfect area on the property for him to get down on one knee and propose! Again they went above and beyond... it brought tears to my eyes and it felt like true neighborly kindness. I would recommend this business to anyone and everyone. He communicated with me during every step of the process, including verifying tree placement location and "uprightness". The team's attention to detail in protecting my relatively new hardscaping, surrounding ground plants and outdoor furniture was wonderful to observe, without me even needing to say anything. Once the tree was planted, top finished and deeply watered, Brandon reviewed all the post-planting details again with me. The crew cleaned up after they were done, leaving the area cleaner than it may have been when they arrived! I'm super happy with the team's work and my new tree looks amazing in its new home. There is always so much to see here and during December, the feel of the holidays/season is in full display. If you need a table arrangement made for you, there's a person (I swear who looked a little like Santa Claus--was that a dream?) who was busy making them. The Christmas cacti were so beautiful. I wanted to buy one since my really old one at home decided not to bloom this year! If you need Christmas or holiday spirit and live close by, you should visit! It's a beautiful place.

I reached out and they were super quick and friendly in getting back to me. They emailed me photos of a number of pieces of wall art ranging from triptychs to very large pieces. Ultimately I settled on a piece that fit both the wall and my price range. They communicated to me through the entire process and delivered it to my office. They even helped with the hanging. This week I snagged some guara, hummingbird bush, and a gorgeous pink trumpet vine that's actually not toxic to pets (as most trumpet vines are). The staff all seem very knowledgeable and are really helpful. There are two older gentlemen that walk around and are always especially kind and helpful. There are some chickens clucking about and if you go in the indoor plant area you can meet parrots Jack and Diane who are happy to have a chat with you. There's also a huge selection of pottery.

We have been going to Whitfill for over 20 years now! What started out as Christmas tree shopping…read morewhen our boys were little has now turned into a yearly tradition that we hope one day they will continue with their own families. Not only do we go to them during the holidays but rely on them throughout the year when we need additional plants and trees for our backyard. We first started using Whitfill back in the early 2000's when they were on 40th street south of Roeser. We literally lived across the street from their nursery and when they moved to their current spot on Southern we followed! We have decades of photos with our boys standing next to the tree they choose for Christmas and the tradition continues now with our Sphynx cats! They used to have a peacock walking around but unfortunately he is no longer there. They are pet friendly and we are comfortable taking our cats there in the stroller. Not only are their prices and tree selections the best in town but their customer service and knowledge of anything tree related is vast! They know what they are doing and don't try to upsell or get you to buy unnecessary items. They are the real deal!

The other Whitfill location (off Guadalupe and Cooper) doesn't have this issue. Overall I think the plants are pretty healthy but after having an issue with lack of labeling (on both the kind of plant and pricing), having been given the wrong plant info on a plant, and after having asked if they had Pink Fairy Duster and being sent off in a direction to wander and never find it on my own, I'm really over this location.
