I spoke with someone on Thursday who showed me their matte paint line. Very nice guy. I went in there on Friday, there was a young girl working at the counter, I showed her the paint sample and requested the matte finish she said that they don't have matte finish. I told her that someone showed me a brochure that they had on a matte finish, she looked at me like a deer in headlights. So she then asked a another associate named Matt, who said they have a flat finish . I asked him if it is stain resistant he said no. He said if you want that then you would need to look at the Exquisite Matte brand of paint they have which is exactly what the other gentleman told me about on Thursday. So I requested a gallon of the black in that finish, the Young sales associate said she'll check if they have that base. And of course they do not. I thought that I would try to use a company for paint other than home depot, so Home Depot here I come. The associates were very unhelpful and unprofessional. read more

Worst sales force I've ever encountered. Went in for a color match. As I needed to give my painter the code so he can pick up the paint. They refused to put it in the machine to get me the code. Said I had to purchase a quart for the color match. I repeated that I wasn't purchasing the paint but my painter is from Dunn edwards hence why he sent me. They again refused to match it. I'm curious why I can get a color match at Lowe's or Home Depot,M(whose customer service sucks worse) without a problem. But a paint distributor would refuse to let help a customer. I know my order wasn't going to be huge (30 gallons) but my painter buys from them all the time. I called him on the spot and he said that it was not right and they could absolutely put my samples under the spectrometer and get us as close a match as possible. AGAIN the paint is being purchased at DUNN Edwards. They will be getting the money. But alas now they will lose my business FOREVER. I hope that I can prevent even just 1 person from buying from this location or company. That is no way to treat customers. It's always a sad day when you get just bad customer service. I highly recommend making an appointment with Heather for a color consultation. She's amazing! We came in with samples of stone for our fireplace, floor tile, kitchen cabinets, bathroom tile, and vanity. We needed help with selecting colors that would tie it all together. Heather to the rescue! She helped us narrow down the choices. We left with several samples to try out at home and feeling very confident in our decisions. Update 3/24/19: Had to come back for more samples. Didn't realize they close at 4pm on Sunday. Got here at 3:55, but they said no problem. We can get those for you. Terrible service and high prices. If they tell you it'll be "an hour to mix the 4 quarts you need, but I'll tell them you're waiting," be prepared to wait for 2 hours. Also, custom matches and exterior paints are excluded from their "free sample" coupon, though it's not on the coupon. Oh yeah, quarts are the smallest size of customs and exteriors. Sherwin-Williams's associates have been more helpful and delivered mixed cans in literally minutes. They also sell small sizes of custom matches. Only reason for 2 stars is because I found a nice ladder on sale. read more

They did a good job of preparing my 3 little paint samples ahead of time when I called. They were ready to pick up at the time I asked for. I didn't know the color#s, only the color names, and they accepted that and didn't make me hunt down the color#s. You can also go in and wait for the paint samples to be created, takes 10-20 minutes depending on how many you want. They are $5 each, and come in a small plastic cup. The customer service here is great. I also liked that they had a wall of business cards of local painters. If you are looking for a painter, there are a ton to choose from. The store is large and spacious, and located on 35th Ave and Bell rd. read more

i used Heather Cobb, the professional color advisor at dunn-edwards, on 35th ave & bell rd. i sent her a .jpg of our residence, and the 2 color schemes we were considering repainting the house. Heather was very accomodating and produced the color enhansed pictures in under a week. that service gave us a much more comprehensive look at the proposed changes than did the small color strips. i doubt we'd paint again, without the help of someone as good as Heather... great job !! read more

This Dunn Edwards' customer service is beyond terrible, they don't follow through with getting back to you on the phone, and care nothing for their end consumers. I was referred by the Registrar of Contractors to contact Dunn Edwards to request one of their representatives to come test our exterior paint job. (We had hired a contractor to use Dunn Edwards paint on the exterior of our house, but he was using INTERIOR paint, which lacks UV protection, blended with exterior on our house. Using paint without UV protection in AZ causes the paint to fade fast, resulting in a house that needs to be repainted sooner than it should.) Although we were told by this Dunn Edwards location that they do have sales reps who can perform this service, the Dunn Edwards management team chose not to do so. It's not just that they chose to protect an unethical contractor (who was also corrupting their product and name to save a few bucks) over the end consumer who actually requested Dunn Edwards paint be used, it was how the management team at this location treated their end consumer. For instance, rather than state they didn't want to send a representative out that might potentially damage their financial relationship with this unethical contractor, they told me instead they would get something scheduled and contact me, when they had no real intension of doing so. After waiting weeks for their rep to call and set up that appointment, I called them back. Then, the management at this location told me another story: they were informed by their corporate office that there was a lawsuit filed and attorneys were involved, so they couldn't get involved. That was not only untrue, but complete nonsense. So, when I asked for the name of this "corporate person" he spoke with, management at this location said he would check and get back to me with his name and number, which of course he did not. Although disappointing, it's not surprising Dunn Edwards management lacks integrity and cares little to nothing about their end consumer. After all, this contractor probably buys thousands of dollars of product from them each year. So, if they don't care about "we, the little people" (who actually drive the contractor's order), then they should have the guts to just admit it. Just tell their customers they're not interested in servicing them, not add "insult to injury" with their pettiness. read more

Yes, customer service sucks here if you end up with the old, curmudgeon named Jerry. Everyone else seemed friendly and eager to help. But not Jerry. Jerry was slumped over the front counter as I walked in. He said, "can I help you" in such a way that it made me think he'd rather have his leg chewed off by a rabid animal than help me out. My painter had ordered some paint samples for me to try and I was there to pick them up. Through his squinty eyes Jerry looked at me and asked who my painter was in a rather impatient tone. So I told him my painter's name. He scoffed at me and said, "is that the name of the company account it's under?" To which I replied I didn't know. I mean, I've never done this before. How do I know what name the paint is under? What he SHOULD have asked me was what is the PAINTING company's name. To that I answered the correct answer because he nodded his old head in recognition. He disappears into the back room and emerges with a single paint can (I ordered 4). He barks out, "is your name? Such and such? " (he was difficult to understand). I looked at him in agitation and said no. By this time I was annoyed with Jerry and his surly attitude. He once again disappears into the back. Finally, after another 3 minutes he comes to the counter with the 4 cans I ordered. He looks at the receipt, mumbles something unintelligible and thanks me. Look, I get it. He's an old guy who probably doesn't want to be working. BUT the truth is, whether he likes it or not, he works in a service industry. I expect common courtesy even in a paint store. Don't treat me like some second class citizen because you don't want to be there, because I treat a person the way they treat me. I was not inclined to be nice to Mr. Jerry because he was not very nice to me. And if I had my choice I would not be buying my paint supplies from this store. Do yourself a favor... To my surprise, they said they just started offering home visits. I asked several questions and was, to my surprise, immediately put in contact with their home color specialist, Jody. After speaking with her, I was impressed with her overview of the home consult service and arranged to meet with her at the Goodyear store which is closest to our home. I met not only with her but also with Emily, another in home color specialist. We discussed my project while they took notes and we then went to my home to look at my project. They assessed my lighting, room size, furniture and accessory colors. To my amazement they quickly came up with colors that would work and meet my design expectations. They took pictures of my wall and surrounding furniture and loaded it on their computer where presto; I could see my wall, furniture and accessories against their suggested color selections. This in home color consult far exceeded my expectations and was money very well spent and.....it gets better......I was given a $50 in store gift card. Needless to say, I highly recommend working with the Dunn-Edwards team! read more

I have never had a business work so hard to earn back my business. It's a rare thing to have a company give a customer a personal ring on the phone to apologize for their mistake but I am blown away to have receive SEVERAL calls from a regional manager and store manager. They have "taken the bull by the horns" and have recognized the mistake and explained, in detail what steps are being taken to resolve the issue so it never happens again. They have offered to refund my purchase and were extremely apologetic and sincere. So often, large companies forget the little guy. I am extremely impressed by the initiative taken and the dedication to me as a customer. I forgive the mistake and I will be back into this Dunn Edwards.
