Everyone is really helpful at this location. From the time I enter the front door too the time I made it to the back of the store, three different people had asked me if I needed any help. Really appreciate the willingness to help me find what I needed. I needed a few nuts and screws and the gentleman who helped me spent a good 5 minutes guiding me to the right sizes and testing each and everyone out. He did not need to help me out but he made my life a heck of a lot easier. When I was checking out, the gal pointed me to some 10% off coupons which save me a few shekels. She also joked about buying some Halloween decorations, but I don't think my wife would enjoy 10% off of those right now. read more

WOW! I should have done this a long time ago. This store goes over and beyond with its customer service EVERY SINGLE TIME. Today Rich helped me to fix a stubborn drawer that I have had problems with falling apart over and over again. I don't think it will ever fall apart again. He took the time to show me different options and before I knew it he fixed it! When I walk in this store, I don't know how they do it, but every person who works the front desk is always positive and helpful. I owned my own business and I know how hard it is to find excellent employees. This store nails it every time! I am greeted with a smile and always directed in the right direction and to the right person. Walter has helped me on several occasions with projects as well. I think everybody that works there is a true handy genius. I cannot say enough about the store. They have little things like different types of gifts and spices, And everything you need for handiwork. Super Friendly Staff and Good Selection The staff is super friendly at this ACE hardware and they all seem to actually know where every item is in the store! I hate to write a review for a local hardware store so conveniently located in my backyard, but recent service I received when purchasing window screens for my home was less than ideal. As for running into Ace for small items for the home - I think they do a great job with keeping a large and ample inventory. They are very friendly and knowledgeable as well. However, if you choose to do a larger project or make a larger purchase in which they will utilize a sub contractor for the work, be careful. In my experience Foothills Ace takes a total lack of ownership over the process and quality of their sub contractors. Working with the General Manager Pat was also a challenge. Ace says in their website that "helping their customer is their first priority". That is not the case with these more expensive jobs. I am totally disappointed with the lack of ownership and follow-thru from Pat and Greg with Armadillo LLC. At this time, my attempts to speak with owner Kevin Cash have gone unanswered. I will continue to patronize Ace and support local business for my small ticket items, but it is doubtful I will ever use them again for more detailed projects - which is too bad. read more

I was teetering between 4 and 5 stars for this Ace Hardware for awhile. Oh how I wish there was a 1/2 star! I bumped it up to 5 stars because, well, they are just that helpful! Instead of writing a length review that not many people will bother reading, I have decided to neatly organize the strong points, as follows: HELPFULNESS: A+ - The employees are just the right amount of helpful here. There is no annoying following you around the store which makes you feel like a criminal. Instead, employees come by to ask if you need help and then are on their merry way if you don't. On my most recent visit, I was looking for flat metal washers for a project. I was hoping for something inexpensive, but all I could find were plumbing washers that were a lot more than I wanted to spend. I looked up and at just the right time, someone was there to direct me to exactly what I needed. That brings me to the next point... PRICE: Well, here is where I would normally detract a 1/2 star from Ace Hardware. Depending on what you are seeking, Ace tends to be quite a bit higher in price than, say, your local Big Box store. However, on this particular trip, I found a box of 100 flat 5/16 washers for approximately $4. The SAME EXACT box of washers was $14 at Lowe's. Wow. Just wow. CONVENIENCE: Here is where Foothills Ace gets back its 1/2 star. Foothills Ace is THE most convenient hardware store for Ahwatukee Foothills residents. There is no getting on I-10 to go to Lowe's or Home Depot, several miles down the road. It is conveniently located right next to Native New Yorker, in the same plaza as Loco Patron. It is VERY convenient. KNOWLEDGE: Have you ever gone to Home Depot and sought help on a project only to be given a set of shrugged shoulders and a "You might want to try... X" which was completely the wrong advice? Well, I have. A few times. And that is when I could even FIND someone to help me. At Ace Hardware, the employees KNOW hardware. Beyond that, they are often ex-contractors or seasoned Do-It-Yourself-ers. They KNOW what they are talking about, be it plumbing or painting or whatever. If you have a project, go to Ace. Ask for help. And then thank them by giving them your business. It may cost you a little more on the front end, but you will save loads because you will have the RIGHT instructions the first time. OVERALL: Go to Ace for project advice, helpful employees, or even to get your keys made. And definitely go to Ace for flat washers. read more

This Ace Hardware makes you feel like you live in a small town. Sue knows that if I'm buying paint it means my husband is out of town and she always asks to see pictures of how the project turned out. The plants in the landscaping department actually are in good shape and last through the hot summers. If you are wandering lost because you have no idea what part to buy for your broken toilet and someone will walk you through EXACTLY what to buy and how to fix it. Near the front they have a wonderful gift area that you would not expect to see in a hardware store. Sometimes if I have an extra 15 minutes and I'm in that area I will stop by because I know that I will find some kind of fun project for the home or a perfect gift for someone. read more

Went in yesterday morning for a plumbing part, right when I walked through the door I heard the girl behind the counter yelling we have masks if you need one, so I told her I have one I'm putting it on. She must not of heard me because she yelled again while I was placing my mask on. When I returned to the counter with my parts the young lady who is yelling at me earlier was helping another customer without a mask I was kind of confused as why she was telling me and not him. When it was my turn to walk to the counter I started walking that way and she abruptly told me that she was busy right at the moment if I could wait. When she finished talking to the other staff member I walked forward And could see that she had a nose piercing and was not covering her nose. I then wondered how can she ask me about a mask when apparently the rules do apply to her. If this the kind of rude employees who represent this store I will shop elsewhere. read more

Used to be my neighborhood place to go for everything. I called to verify if I could bring back a tree (Hibiscus) that died after the Summer. They said yes, so I brought it back. Once I got here, the Manager said no to anything live. Don't tell me that it will do well in the heat and it doesn't. Home Depot and Lowe's does returns on trees. I love managers who don't have the Huevos to tell me them self versus sending out employees to tell customers bad news. Going back to big store, not my neighborhood hardware store! read more
