Sure, I could order from Home Depot online and wait or I could buy from Amazon but would have to buy two. I like to purchase just one when trying a product for the first time. I ordered the Masterbuilt 1150 Gravity fed charcoal smoker on sale for Memorial Day weekend. The Roberts store was able to deliver it the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. I got a call on Friday from the store manager who asked if I wanted the grill assembled as well for no charge. I agreed and on Saturday they rolled up with a nice delivery truck with a lowering ramp with the assembled grill. I did the burn in on Saturday and cooked ribs and chicken on Sunday. Amazing service and the assembly of the grill was great, no scratches or adjustments needed. Very appreciated! read more

I don't like writing reviews after one visit, unless I know I'll never return, however, I was 100% impressed with this Ace Hardware. Not because of the tools, the products they sell, or the prices but rather the courtesy and knowledge of the young lady who helped us. We went in only partly knowing what we needed. We had one sample and she immediately took us to where it was, gave us on point recommendations and we were in and out in no time. We had already visited two other hardware stores with no luck and no help! Finally a lady at the furniture store across the street sent us, confident that they would have what we needed ..she was right! read more

Seemed quiet in the store when I was there. The store was not busy at all. They have some great home improvement items there. They also sold batteries. I was interested in the Energizer batteries. They were sixteen or twenty seven dollars depending on how many batteries you got and the capacity of the battery charger as to how many of them could be charged at a time. I like reusable batteries because it is sustainable. I was surprised that one of them charges with usb. They had a lot of helpful people who were quick at asking me if I needed help. I went in for a piece of glass which I broke as soon as I got home. I went back to the store to replace it and they gave me a 10% military discount because I broke the last which was nice, I didn't know they offered that. Being a military veteran I asked if I could apply the discount to the item I broke about an hour ago. It cost $45.34 so a $4.53 military discount on what I bought an hour ago. Scott says he can't do that because I already purchased it. Being in retail for many years I said you could return it and ring it up again with the discount. Scott stares at the receipt on the counter not saying anything for a few seconds so I again say you can just return it....Well, Scott says, I was going to but now that your telling me what to do, I'm not going to. Just about every time we are visiting our family in Chandler there is always some reason I have to make a trip to the Roberts Ace Hardware located in the northwest corner of Alma School Rd. and Warner. I always seem to find what I need here. The staff there is very helpful and family friendly. Plus for some of you backyard grillers they carry the Traeger electric grill at a decent price. For you Yeti fans they carry that too. Hardware stores used to be for guys but, women shop here too. Easy place to find what you need. If you live near this Ace Hardware Store just stop buy you might find what you need and won't have to drive far to Home Depot or Lowe's. Posted all over the shelves but did not honor all my items and (3 were identical)! And one I even asked before putting in my basket! Went back in to get some clarification because I felt very rushed to leave since there was only one cashier and about 6 people behind me... so I put my stuff in the car, double checked my receipt and went back in. I didn't even get any attempt from a manager to speak to me or show me why I was charged full price, you know, for better understanding on my end just Incase I missed a fine print somewhere... and because it's just good customer service to show you care. The cashier tried finding the items I purchased on the shelf by the label number and was unsuccessful and couldn't see well. Long story short, she said "let me go ask Robert" expected him to come back with her but no, she said that those lights on isle 17 aren't on sale. Hmmm... well according to this sign they are and this is where I got them from, and she remembers me doing it! So the other identifié lights were on sale, just not these specific boxes is what I heard. Lol Won't be back, except to take my $89.70 worth of items back. All my items I purchased, not just the $60 in lights. I will also bring them more specific signs to make it very clear on what's on sale and what isn't. Maybe even provide a free customer service training session (since that is what I do for a living) but I will only provide parts of it, since not all of it is free. read more

I came in here a couple of times while watching over my Mother's house in Chandler to either check out or purchase lawn products and gardening tools to help with the upkeep and really liked the store. I found myself coming back more often because it is so much easier to navigate than the big box stores and you can always find someone to help you and answer questions. And you can park right in front of the door with no long walks to and from your car! I would definitely be a regular here if I was still in town. Plus I could combine it with a trip to Churchill's Pub next door for my British food fix! Keep up the good service guys! read more

This is my nearest neighborhood Ace, so I traipse in here fairly often for the odd doodad or thingamabob. The staff is always friendly and helpful and will help you find what you need. The four stars is for the personable local staff, NOT for the faceless corporate troglodytes that comprise the vast Ace bureaucracy. Here is my cautionary tale about dealing with those boneheads... I bought a shop-vac at this store because of a great deal ($10 rebate on a $40 item). I did have to remind the cashier that there was a rebate on the item so that she would furnish me the appropriate form. Luckily, it appeared, I could submit for my rebate on-line. Turns out, my Ace Rewards on-line account could not be activated, presumably because of some mysterious required gestation period. Ace customer service telephone operators were no help in getting my account set up, they just explained that I was not in the system. So I reluctantly pursued my rebate the old-fashioned way which involved filling out a form, enclosing the UPC barcode from the box, and sending a stamped envelope to the great Ace Rebate center in the sky (actually, it appears to be in El Paso). Now I get to "please allow 8 weeks for processing". Great. An e-mail promptly assures me when Ace receives my claim. So then I wait. And finally, eight weeks later I get a postcard telling me that my rebate request cannot be processed because it was missing a receipt! Fortunately, I am well-organized. I have scans of everything sent to Ace, including the form which DID NOT specify the need for including a receipt. Simply the UPC code and the completed form was all that was requested! However, the Gods of Ace (who apparently now reside in the "Rebate Resubmission Department" in Miami, Florida) have smiled on me and allowed me to claim my rebate by sending in that darned receipt that they never requested. So off it goes with the cost of another stamp. Turns out my Ace Rewards account is now activated. So any future rebates can be handled on-line. But I hate having to deal with that lame corporate bureaucracy for a measly $10. I also want some popcorn. My old neighborhood Ace in Sacramento offered free popcorn and coffee with your purchase. Yeah... that would make me feel better! read more

Went in to have keys made on Wednesday morning, three female employees at the front of the store deep in conversation didn't see me come in or even acknowledge me as I stood by them waiting for a break in their conversation to ask a question. Apparently no other employees were working this morning. I do my best to support local business, but I ended up going to a chain store for service. The supervisor Patricia or Patty I can't remember was very rude, even to her employee. There is no need for her snide remarks. I have been a long time customer and I like to shop local. I arrived early prior to them opening so I had breakfast next door at the diner and waited until they opened so that I could shop at a locally owned establishment. Upon entering the store the person at the door asked me to leave my sling backpack at the counter and stated it was "store policy". I know they were apparently only following instructions. I get it... Unfortunately, I ride a motorcycle and my backpack contains my cell phone, wallet, and many other personal items that I would rather not leave with some stranger at the counter. The other thing that really bothers the most is this: If you are going to ask one person (male) to leave their tiny little sling backpack at the counter then wouldn't you ask the same of everyone? I mean if in fact this is a "store policy" again as stated by the store employee. There were (female) customers with purses, bags, etc... much bigger than the one I was sporting who apparently were not asked to leave their belongings at the counter prior to entering the store. I just felt somewhat discriminatory to me. As a result the local Home Depot got my business and I guess they will continue to get my business moving forward. Again unfortunately I wont be able to shop at this store anymore since I am trying to reduce my lifestyle. My sole means of transportation is my motorcycle or public transportation. As a result I carry a bag and I am not leaving it with anyone especially when the rule doesn't apply to everyone. read more

Whatever I need for a home project, these guys usually have it. It doesn't cost any more than Home Depot or Lowes, but it's a much smaller store, which makes it easy to run in , buy, and run out. I find I spend 10 minutes here, or 30 minutes in a Home Depot. Knowledgeable staff, good selection of the basics, fair prices. Can't ask for more than that. AND... you can run next door to Gallagher's & grab a beer with the time you save ;). read more

Otherwise you will have to take it all the way back to the exact one that you bought it at if they don't have the item even if you have a receipt! I pick an Ace for knowledge and helpfulness, b/c there is enough of them around I can be picky. I come here: 1. Sheer convenience of walking in/out 2. When I can't find what I'm looking for at Lowe's or Home Depot -- Selection actually varies btwn the 3 stores (ie. metal shower drain thingy when you look down at your toes...). 3. Single ladies... and for the men that need to make small home improvement/repair projects, this is your store! Home improvements are so much easier when you have the right person helping you.. I'll go in and tell the sales person what I'm trying to do and they're there helping me pick out exactly what I need for my project. If I feel I'm still not understanding, they will actually draw me diagrams to help me out. Believe me, some of the projects I thought were over my head were a breeze to accomplish (sprinkler system, drip system, plumbing repairs, lawn care, etc.). Now that gas is so expensive, if you're not sure if they will have all the items for your project, they're just a phone call away. You can buy the same items (small projects and repairs) for about the same price as your Home Depot. Whenever I go to a Home Depot (about 4 miles away), it takes forever to find anyone to help you and if you have questions, they will just read the label (I can do that too!). With Ace Hardware employees, they're very knowledgeable. Don't take my word, go in and see for yourself. You've feel like you actually accomplished something and you did it on your own instead of hiring and paying someone to do it for you! Wow! I normally love going into this place. I love how it has pretty much anything we need. However, we are moving next week & I called to ask if they had any empty boxes that they were going to throw away after a truck came in. The guy or lady (I couldn't tell bc they had a raspy voice) told me no. I asked when their next truck came in and he or she said Thursday. I then asked if they could save them for me before throwing them out. His / Her response, word for word... I can't bc we sell boxes and Im not going to go out of my way to make sure and save you some. Umm... that's not what the young guy last week told me, he was very respectful and said yes ma'am and asked my name so he could save them. It's not that I can't afford to buy boxes, I just didn't want to have to, I mean, most people including myself have either lost their job or had hours cut so boxes are the last thing on my list that I really want to pay for right now. It's ok, there are other stores that will save them for me and they won't feel like they are going out of their way to do it. If I do happen to have to buy boxes, I can promise you I won't be buying them from Ace Hardware in Chandler Az after that remark. Every year around this time I have been making sun screens for my house. One year I changed all the screens because I wanted to change the color from black to beige. Another year I redid all of them because I feel the black sun shades keep the temperature down better. My father was a contractor and I picked up how to construct them when I would help him occasionally when I was a kid. I know what I am doing and I didnt feel the need to have the man behind the back counter pick up side work at my expense and have him make them for me when he offered. I am baffled that when I asked him where the strips of framing were kept for sun shade screens he told me behind the counter only not for sale. He said he makes them from scratch. I was so puzzled and dumbfounded because my friend said he had purchased the supplies there just one day earlier. I had to purchase the $300 worth of supplies at a competitors. I definitely am offended and will be sure to return the hundred dollar bucket and ladder I purchased. I feel it was unfair for them to refuse to sell me items that my male friend was offered. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon, 2/10/15 looking for a key chain cover for my broken car key. I saw that they had one, but before I approached the cashier's counter, I stopped and decided to put my key in to see if the cover fit because it looked a little too big. It turned out that I was right, so I put the key cover back onto it's packaging properly, and hung it up with the rest of the merchandise. As I proceeded to walk out the door, the cashier yells at me from behind her counter (while she was ringing out another customer) and said "did you put that key chain back?!" I responded "yes." She gave me one of the most ugliest snarls and responded "okay" and rolled her eyes. She thought I was lying. Now, I am a 33 year old adult, with a job; why in the hell would I want to steal a $10 key chain? On top of which, I know that she saw me putting the key into the cover and I was in plain sight where any of the other employees and customers could have easily walked by and saw me (which some people did), and that was okay with me because I had no intentions of stealing it. I'd have to be one bold and petty individual to steal a flimsy, faux leather $10 generic key chain in front of several employees and customers. I asked the lady if she wanted to walk to the back of the store with me to double-check that I had put the key chain back. By this point I am pissed because she has sideline accused me of stealing, called me out and attempted to belittle me in front of other customers and my child, and has broken the law by insinuating that I had stole something before I had even walked out the door. I also asked her if she wanted to check the cameras to make sure that I put the key chain back. By this time, she could no longer make eye contact, and is stuttering saying "no, no, that's okay!" because she may have realized that she made a mistake. I gave this place two stars because the first time I visited this store, the employees were super nice and helpful during that visit. Other than that, I'd rate this place a zero due to the level of ignorance and lack of professionalism that this lady displayed. I will not be returning. I can find what I need on eBay which will more than likely be cheaper, with free shipping. read more
