It's not a huge store but it is well stocked and the employees and manager here are super friendly. Make sure you say hello to the store doggo! They helped me locate exactly what I needed to repair some holes in the wall, which I am sad to say I cannot blame on the kids. The prices were decent, and in terms of getting in and out quickly with a few simple things rather than having to go to the Home Depot for them I am pretty pleased with my visit here. read more

Been in here a time or two and the hovering employees are unbearable. Classic case of helicopter help - nothing I said indicated I wanted more than a product location. But the guy stayed on my hip offering unsolicited advice and anecdotal experiences ad nauseam. The last time I was looking for a fastener, same thing. You cannot concentrate on threads, pitch metal hardness and the application that they know nothing about but keep offering advice on. I left and went to another hardware store that will let you consider your product options and potential outcomes. read more

This has been my neighborhood hardware store for years. I can find nearly everything I can in a big box store with personalized knowledgeable service. It doesn't matter what dumb home repair project I'm doing, they know how to talk me through fixing it and finding the right parts. Horrid customer service. Young guy at the front was incredibly rude while attempting to return something apparently outside of return window. 1st off, receipt return policy is ambiguous and 2nd, there is absolutely no need to be rude to a customer. They have no idea why it has taken me so long to return an unopened item. This employee needs some serious finishing school (or maybe simply some manners). You have lost my business. Super unfortunate as I like to give my business to small local companies. Not anymore. Lowes and Home Depot have far better employees who treat customers with respect. Sad day true value. read more

I just love popping in this store to see what's new! This week I picked up Amaryllis bulbs, pellets for my Traeger, clean burning fire logs, and Lysol. They actually have real Lysol 2020! Lol I'm definitely going to pick up some new hummingbird feeders after the holidays. I have my eye on a few things! Did you know they have local honey and baked goods?! Super impressed with the customer service, selection, and prices! I stopped by here at 6:55 and noticed that they were closed for the night (hours til 6:30pm.) The owner's son saw me in the parking lot, invited me in and offered to help me find what I needed. He found exactly what I was looking for, and it was less than I was expecting to pay. FRAUD I rented a U-Haul from this store in January. Their computers weren't working and it took about 30 minutes of waiting in the store to get my truck. Fast forward to April and there's another U-Haul charge from this store on my credit card. I'm not even in Chandler anymore. Got some dishonest employees working here EDIT: Employees also not wearing masks as required during pandemic. read more

They take customer service very seriously as all employees were wearing face masks and they were disinfecting the counters very often when I was there on Friday (during the COVID-19 outbreak). The store was fairly busy as it seems that everyone is catching up on home projects but the shelves were still very well stocked. I was able to find all the irrigation equipment that I needed plus a bottle of real Coke. This is a very well run hardware store that always save me a great deal of time vs the big box stores. read more

Bought an appliance bulb there this morning, got home opened it and it was the wrong size. Brought it back within an hour and he would not return it because the package was opened and he said he couldn't resell it. Bad customer service if you ask me. A lot of competition in the area. I'm very impressed with the helpfulness of the employees. This is a local family owned business and I think I've been helped by most of them at this point. They have a great selection of Trager products and i think one of the employees is a certified Trager repair person. There is a large selection of items packed into that small space, so if you can't find it, make sure you ask. read more

Figured maybe a bad day so went to give another chance to be greeted by the owner with no mask along with his staff. Let me start this off by saying my comment to the owner's kid was rude, no doubt. I'm not sure why he wouldn't take my obvious cues that I wasn't interested in describing my project in detail but I could have been more polite. Unfortunately for him, by the time he showed up to ask a bunch of questions, I had already had a similar conversation with his employee, who tried diligently but couldn't find what I couldn't find. He even asked and came back. At this point, I pretty much had the parts that I needed together but was trying to decide on a few last bits when the young man, who later insisted his name was on the building, came over and asked about my project. A few of his questions received pretty short answers from me and I kept looking at what I was doing, wanting to wrap up and leave, not chat. To the last time he asked "what exactly are you trying to do" I responded "I'm trying to not talk to you but it's not going very well." He walked off. All would have been fine except within a few minutes, I hear him telling the story to his coworker and intermingled with some expletives he says "should I throw him out of my store for talking to me that way," to which I responded "no need, I'll just go," followed by an expletive of my own. Like I said, I wasn't especially polite but if you're going to be ignorant or oblivious to obvious social cues in your own store, you should probably do your trash taking in your office. read more

Gary and his family own this True Value store and you can tell from their pride of ownership and their helpfulness. Gary installed new screens for all of our doors and windows and also put in new locks on the doors, rekeying them so they would all work with just one key. This store feels like something you might find in the Midwest where everyone knows each other and is happy to help. They even have "Tucson" their 6 month old husky puppy greet you when you come in. The prices seem comparable to the big box store and the ease of the smaller store would outway any difference. They also rent UHaul trucks which we have used for moving homes. read more

McKay's just redid the screens for my front screen door and I just have to say WOW! They did a fantastic job. When I dropped them off I had no idea there were so many choices for screen material. Very impressed with this store. I have been in several times for various items that I would have normally purchased at Lowes or Home Depot. They also have an impressive Traeger section. The prices are competitive and they show me where everything is located and are very helpful. Recently, I had some window screens replaced and they did a fantastic job. The owner even came out to my house with 5 minutes notice and measured my windows to ensure they fit. I highly recommend this store. read more

Definitely my new favorite hardware store. I have only been in a couple times but these guys are always super helpful and friendly. Today they helped me copy an ignition key for my car which required getting the original chip out of the old key housing. It had been all glued in and not easy to remove. They helped me cut the chip free and I was back on the road in no time. Thanks for the help guys! read more
