2nd time in the location and although the cashiers are extremely nice, the men on the floor are not at all. The first time I went in was to get an extra key made and the experience was blah but nothing to write about.. yesterday, I went in because the framing on my garage is coming down so I wanted either glue or maybe a staple gun but wasn't sure what I needed. I told Jesse what was going on and he pointed and said, "the glue is over there" .... I had to give a black stare like WHERE?! There's a million things over there. I go to the area to look around and here comes Jesse with 3 men escorting them to what they needed and helping in great detail. As I'm looking over at them, one of the gentlemen said, "ma'am do you need help" Jesse then says, "it will be a minute" and walks away. Safe to say, I will not be spending my money in this store ever again. We went in to grab a few bolt, while in there my 3 year old needed to go potty really bad. We went back and the doors were open, but before going in an employee rushed to us and said we weren't allowed to use the bathroom because they just cleaned. Mind you this was at 3pm on a Sunday so they still had 3 hours till closing time. It doesn't make sense to clean 3 hours early and then not allow customers to use the costumer restroom. read more

It's not me, it's you. I hate to end things this way but today was the last straw. I came in today to buy lumber for a project. I asked that a 4x4 be cut into thirds. The man at the saw went to the back with the wood, measured it, and came back and told me he could cut it into 4 pieces. I told him that wouldn't work as I really needed 6 equal pieces, so fourths wouldn't work because...math. He said he couldn't cut the wood that many times. Ok. Fourths still don't work. He told me he could get the cuts close to thirds. I asked him to please just make two cuts art 32 inches. The sign says first cut is free, 50¢ each additional cut . Maybe add max 2-3 cuts? I did believe $2 worth of cutting would be acceptable. Either way, I think we need some time apart. Take care now. read more

Amazing location!!! William, the store manager is top notch. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I went in looking for some rib racks for my smoker. He walked me through the entire barbecue section which is the size of a small apartment. They carry a wide array of products. Local Yeti seller. INSANE!!!! Went to order a tool backpack and it showed they had (20) in stock. I ordered one for pick up and I get a email saying they are working on the order should be reading with in 15 minutes. About 30 mins later I get another email saying they don't have them in stock even it showed on their website they did have some and I would have to wait 2 weeks to get delivered! I would have to say that they need to update their website with the correct inventory. I can't wait until Home Depot is finished and I don't have to deal with the nonsense anymore! read more

Poorest customer service I have ever experienced. Took our screen door in TWO weeks ago to be repaired. We were told 5-7 days. After 5 days my husband called. He was told Sunday. Sunday comes and goes. Now they say "oh we have no screening material " We have called the store and corporate with no response from the store and a generic pat answer from corporate I like shopping local, but Lowe's and Home Depot will get all our business from now on. read more

The only time I would go to an Ace is when I'm out here visiting family. But this time I'm able to post a review. Arizona heat is no joke & watching my elderly Uncle was kinda concerning seeing him gardening in this summer heat. With sub standard equipment and feeling compelled to make it easier for him I went to Ace to look for a new gardening wagon. Knowing he wouldn't accept a new purchase I was assisted by Jalynn who was the "Rockstar" in her helping me make the wagon look convincing that I bought it elsewhere. Be prepared to pay a premium for anything in the store compared to any competitors. Used to be a trade of I was willing to make for the excellent customer service and pro tip advice. However, my last trip has left much to be desired. Customer service was sub par, employees answer for everything was, "sorry, I am unable to make recommendations", or "sorry sir, we can't perform that service anymore". I usually do not do reviews but I am beyond frustrated to see this store go down hill, since new owners took over! My husband and I would try to stop in at least once a week for the past 10 years because we want to support local business even if the costs were slightly higher. We live in a small town of Maricopa. We are growing every day and it seems this retail store is not providing the community simple things. The shelves have low stock and this was the greatest place to buy plants and trees for our yard but this weekend there was literally no options. It appears to be ready to close. Now I will say the The staff is always wonderful. It is peak season to plant and you are forcing us to drive all the way to town and losing our business. I have received nothing but rude treament from all employees except for Gabriel. This has been going on for a long time, long before the ownership changed to "Karsten's". I have been mocked and laughed at because I cannot hear. I have asked people to look at me, remove their masks as I lip read or write things down. They always refuse to try to communicate with me. I go back because of convenience. Now they have "trespassed me" as they do not want to accommodate my disability. I have talked with many of my neighbors who have shopped at this ACE location and they have all experienced this treatment. They simply elected to never shop there again rather than write a comment. Horrible Customer Service!!! Went to this location to find a Helium tank. I went on their company website before hand to ensure they had one in stock. It shows they do. So I went in and asked two representatives where I could locate the tank, they assured me they do not have any but I could find them at Walgreens. Did I find it at Walgreens? Nope. So I went home and went back on the website where I still saw they had a tank on hand. I then call into the store to verify, the rep that answered the phone says yes we have it in stock. I asked to speak to a manager and express my complaint that says they do not have the Helium tank. I told him that does not make sense, he then puts me on hold and transfers me to another manager. He didn't even update her on what was going on. Come on! Basic customer service 101... The next manager then proceeds to tell me that their system is wrong and that helium tank is for their anniversary. Are you serious?! Every time me and my husband go here the employees on the FLOOR are always so helpful and courteous, the gentleman that is in the power scooter is absolutely awesome, always so helpful and helps save money! The inventory is always stocked. My only complaint is the cashiers, AT TIMES, it's a 50 50 every time we go in. We either get the girls that stand up there with a bad attitude and don't pay attention or we get very kind down to earth women.Must be the difference between girls and women. I absolutely dread coming to this store. Maricopa can't get a Home Depot or Lowes quick enough. Its nice they are here for extreme emergencys, but if given the option I will drive into town every time. The employees must have some rule they have to ask you if you need help if they get within 10ft of you (even if they heard someone else ask you, or they just asked you) gets so annoying. Ace is a convenient stop for any odds and ends needed when doing a DIY project. There selection of nuts/bolts is an absolute life saver. That being said the prices at Ace are stupidly high. If you are planning a substantial project head into chandler and hit Home Depot off the I-10 for a much better price. Given the alternative of driving into Chandler or Casa Grande to hit a big box store like Home Depot or Lowe's, I'm very happy having a local Ace store. Yes, the employees DO constantly ask if you are finding everything OK. Whether this is out of genuine concern or some corporate mandate to decrease shrink, it really doesn't matter to me. At least they are always there if you need them. You can't get that from an orange apron. Ace is overpriced by comparison, but they also carry many items that you don't have a chance in the world finding elsewhere. I had Ace build and install my solar screens on my home. I am very happy with the way they turned out and are working. A recent dust storm took one of the screens down the street and destroyed it. A quick call to the store and I was all set up with a new order for the screen, and we worked out a deal, as the install had only taken place this past spring. I was expecting a "well, we can't just be giving these away" conversation, but what I got was great customer service. So, that's why I go back! And the kids like the popcorn (nice touch). read more

Always someone there to help you at the Maricopa Ace Hardware! I have always had a very pleasant experience when I shop at this Ace! They are the most helpful bunch of people ever! Sure, maybe the prices might be a bit higher than a HD or Lowes, but look at the sizes of those massive monstrosities compared to the tiny Ace stores. I think it is worth the price difference for a few reasons: 1) you don't have to drive far, 2) you are supporting your local businesses and 3) you always get help. When you shop at HD or Lowes you might have to walk up and down about 8 aisles before you might find someone who works there, but of coarse they don't work in the department you need help in, so then it takes them another 10 minutes to flag down someone who can help you! There was a time when I needed to find about 12 of those knee pads for gardening for a project at work. I was already in Casa Grande so I stopped at the Lowes and only could find 2. TWO in that whole big giant store! I stopped at HD since it is right next door and I couldn't even find them. Had to walk up and down a bunch of aisles, tried asking someone who had to go hunt down someone from that department .... I left and was able to find ALL TWELEVE that I needed in the small little Ace Hardware in Maricopa. And, the pricing was actually only higher by nickels and dimes, not a big difference at all! I will always be a big fan of the Maricopa Ace Hardware! read more

I called with a plumbing issue related to my washing machine faucets. I spoke to Gabriel in plumbing and he was fantastic! I explained my issue, and he suggested the correct parts to solve the problem. I told him that I would be there in 10 minutes to pick up the parts. He told me that he would be leaving before I arrived, but he would leave the parts at the front of the store so I could find them. When I arrived, the parts were just where he said they would be, along with a really nice note! Karsten's definitely always goes above and beyond in helping their customers.
