In a fit of DIY excitement after watching TV, I decided I could repair my own sunscreens. So I ripped the old material out of the frames and went to Ace to buy new material. 3 hours later, after destroying one of the frames and cutting my palm, I hung my head and took everything back to Ace. Rock in the screen department was so kind and didn't laugh (at least not while I was still there) and he told me it takes a special technique and he could do it for me and named me a very low price. I also should mention that I belong to several non-profit organizations in Maricopa, and Mike Richie the owner of Ace is always the first to donate whatever is asked of him. People are helpful and prices are high. If I am making a major purchase then I make the drive to a big box store, if I forgot something for a project then I will stop in Ace and pick it up. I am glad that we have them in the 'copa, but wish that they weren't so pricey. read more

Very helpful and willing associates. One cashier was extra nice by giving my boys popcorn. Although I was VERY disappointed with the 'door greeter'. He was very disrespectful and rude. He negatively commented on the shirt that I was wearing by saying he didn't like it. Then when I returned to check out there was a small line and he commented to another associate that if so and so wasn't taking so long on her lunch that the other cashier wouldn't have to help. This place is very convenient and always seams to have what I'm looking for. For being the only hardware store in Maricopa the prices are still very good. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I just picked up a bag of cherry wood chips to smoke a brisket. And the chips were at a discount price so it worked out good. read more

Went on to store in maricopa on Sunday looking for plywood, an employee's came up to help and suggested to use a 1×6 instead because it was better for my project. He even offer to cut it for me. To my surprise when I paid they charge me 6 per cut. I was never told of the additional fee. Great place to go and get knowledgable help with anything. Always a ton of people to help you and if they can't...they will find someone that can. We had trouble with the old tiolet ball & chain type guts in our home and they suggested we change to Korky QuietFill and it was the easy to install and that was about 3 years ago. Since then...just last week it started to squeel and called to Korky company and they thought they knew what the issue was and sent me out a red rubber seal to correct the problem. It is back to being nice and quiet once again. Korky has a great customer serivce gal there name Joanna K., she took care of me. If you are having issues with your old "guts" to your toilet...give Korky a try and Ace is the Place. read more

This place is always quite helpful, and the prices aren't as awful as you'd think being the only hardware store in town. They somehow fit almost everything you'd need in their undersized location, and their tool and plant selection are higher quality than Wal-Mart. The free popcorn is a nice touch. read more

When I first moved here, I was in here all the time. So much that I got to know the majority of the sales people. And they were/are all very helpful and happy to assist in every way possible. Ace hardware in Maricopa is always friendly. They always go out of their way to help you find what you need so that your not having to float around in a hardware store all day. Their attitudes are spot on every time I go in. The last week a patron was letting her kid just ravage the nuts and bolts. She wasn't paying much attention and I was concerned a peice of hardware would find it's way to the poor boy's esophagus for the Darwin award. I politely hinted to the ace associate about the kid's fun time. He paused helping a patron to ask the woman in a humble way to watch her child because it's really difficult to keep everything in its place. He didn't raise his voice and was as cool as a cucumber. Now the woman in the other hand was a peice of work. She got offended and looked like she was going to have a hissy fit. I just took my nuts and left before it could get crazy. Management must be training these people daily to get them to humbly serve the community the way they do. Bravo! read more

Parents with children, BEWARE!!! You'll get reprimanded for things your child may not have done!!! My son, who is 5, and I went into this store to find hardware for a project I was working on. We wandered into the loose hardware aisle where a male employee was helping a male customer with hardware. My son grabbed a screw and said, "What about this one momma?" Before I could tell him to put it back where he got it and not to touch anything, the employee came up and said, "We ask that little fingers stay out of the hardware bins... unless I guess he puts the stuff back where he got it." Astonished, I stared at him. The Male customer was standing right there watching all this unfold. The employee continued, "I spend a lot of time straightening this up." I told him, "I would never let my son put hardware in the wrong bins." We went back and forth for about a minute. Finally, the employee walked away. I am disgusted that I would be harassed by an employee in front of another customer for something my son and I never did or would do. I will not be back. read more

Loved coming here yesterday. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I needed to get a new cord for my dryer and I was able to find it with the help of an employee. Not your typical ace hardware at all, they don't stock a lot of common stuff, takes forever for anyone to acknowledge or offer to help you find something, and the worker Paul is probably the most unhelpful condescending person I've ever met in a customer service role. read more

They have a piss poor attitude to which I think is because they are the only hardware store in Maricopa, I would rather drive to Home Depot on Ray Rd. I am here to officially report the Ace Hardware store in Maricopa as recycler unfriendly. I have now been harassed twice by three different employees for recycling in the Green Depot Rewards bins. The first time, an employee actually snuck right up behind me when I was bent over into my car to grab recycling, got literally right next to me, scared the crap out of me and yelled "what are you doing?" After regaining my calm from someone sneaking up behind me to yell at me, I said "recycling. Is that a problem?" He yells "yes" and walks away before I can say anything else. The next day, I call the manager, and am told it is no problem for me to recycle there, and she apologies for the employee's behavior. She said they actually get rewards points for recycling, so it helps them out. Today I go to recycle paper, in a bin that lists every kind of paper allowable, and cardboard, and one employee argues with me that you can't recycle paper (clearly listed on the bin that you CAN), and two other employees harass me for recycling after that. Now I find out they are removing the bins alltogether. Not an environmentally conscious company. Everyone who believes in recycling, please share this, and let Green Depot Rewards know as well. read more

Everyone in the store is helpful and if they dont have it or can't do it they have always given me a number of someone local that can! Found our locksmith from them. They are helpful and the military discount on Wednesday and the free popcorn is always good! Great for small things needed for repairs and they have a little bit of everyhting. read more

The garden section is great and plants are reasonably priced. They are also very knowledgeable about what actually grows in Arizona (I even got a nice planting calendar from a Master Gardener who works there... seriously a game changer for my garden). Yes, it's a little more than Walmart for some things, but the quality of merchandise and employees who have a clue make it a better choice for a lot of items. My kid loves the free popcorn. Get a rewards card. They send out a lot of $5 coupons throughout the year. read more

It's funny what some think is annoying, others really like. I like them asking if they can help. It's so refreshing compared to most other stores where you have to hunt down someone to ask help and then are told "its not their department". The only place I don't like to be approached and constantly asked if they can help is while shopping for a car. LOL Anyway, great place if you aren't headed into Chandler or Casa Grande, and yes they are a bit overpriced, but then again so are Walgreens and any other "smaller" store. I really like this place. Tons of people to help you out. I have had paint miss matched at least 3 times tho. Seems like they should callibrate. The Maricopa Ace hardware store is a convenience even though their prices on many things are a bit higher than the big box stores, but they do have great sales. To me, paying the extra price is well worth my time. Plus you have to consider the gas and wear and tear on a vehicle driving into town is also an expense. The people are friendly and helpful and YES everyone does ask if they can help you, but I'd rather they ask then not be able to find someone to help you when you need it like in the other stores. I was able to buy a garage door opener AND have it installed the same day by their contractor. That's what I call service! read more

This is a great hardware store. The stock is good, the people are friendly, I appreciate being asked if I need help finding something and then not having pressure put on to select something. If they don't have it they can almost always get it in a day or two. Services, ie: key cutting, screen repair and fabrication are very good and priced right.
