Even with all the gruff customers, I always get excellent customer service at this location. Michael has helped me several times, but everyone else has been just as helpful. Whenever they happen to be out of something I can immediately find out which location has it and they are on the ball! read more

For cheap tools that may or may not last a while, this is the place. There are certain things you can get that are going to perform no matter what plus they have a pretty good return policy so you always feel like you are getting value. Tonight I was looking for a trailer ball mount but I arrived at 8:05pm and I thought they were open until 9. So I'll have to stop by tomorrow. read more

terrible experience the penny theft of keeping your cents I know its only 2 cents but if pennies are the problem make all you prices even numbers to coincide with the tax, its corporate welfare they kept 2 cents I went and got 3 cents for them to give me a nickel and they said they couldn't do that Just because the government quit printing pennies doesn't mean you can stop giving them as change This is a slippery slope thank you Garrett for being kind you other two employees need to work on your customer service 7/21/2026 6:00 pm read more

One of my go to places for tools if you sign up for their members program, you'll get coupons that they also have coupons in their mailer and you'll also get free items occasionally. The prices are reasonable and everyone is helpful. read more

Harbor Freight Tools - Hardware Stores Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

I used to like the tools from Harbor Freight. Now they sell Bauer power tools and they are nothing but worthkless JUNK! I can't return the pieces of garbage because I didn't use them before the retrurn period was up. 7" grinder, the center piece that the blades set in, sit to high, so my diamond blade just spins free!!! The 3/8 drill is so gutless, they must have meant for it to drill just sioft wood. Don't try drilling any type of thin metal!!!! They have lost me as a customer after 35 years!!!! read more

My dad loved this place and I see why: their employees go above and beyond to make sure each customer gets what they come in for and what they pay for. Superior customer service. Also they make you feel like family and friend. I will be a regular customer. read more

Whenever I'm working on a house project and I need either a quick tool or supplies to "get me through" this is the first place I come versus hitting up the major brands. Lots of inexpensive deals but it all depends on the project you're trying to tackle. Ideal for tools you rarely need or when it comes to organization. They do have a great selection of compressed air tools that are also inexpensive... If I see contractors in here, that's when I worry as they need to be investing in more "robust" tools. Price point beats the major brand stores nearby and are quick and easy. read more

Racial profiling at its finest. The minute I walked in. I get I'm a bigger guy and brown but to have an employee stand in an aisle and stare at me for 5+ minutes was absolutely vile. Definitely purchased my items and overall never coming back again. I get not wanting items stolen but I took a good look at who wasn't being watched and who was (me) read more

Hanging out at Harbor Freight Tools makes me giggle like a little schoolgirl... in the manliest way possible, of course. And I do love this store because it feels like a "manly place to be" (in the immortal words of the punk rock song by the Diesel Queens titled "O.S.H."). Since there are no Orchard Supply Hardware stores outside of California and Oregon, I have to get my fill of macho D.I.Y. ambience at this fine establishment. It's a stripped-down, bare-knuckles kind of a hardware store with all sorts of practical durable goods, power tools, and things forged out of steel. I had to restrain my handy friend from buying a giant air compressor who was certain he could justify the need for an entire line of pneumatic tools, when in fact these would just become high-end expensive garage toys. Men can sometimes do more damage than Julia Roberts on Rodeo Drive when unleashed in the right retail environment. My housemates and I did manage to get a great deal on utility trailers here. These come in kits and are the bare-bones steel girders that you assemble yourself. The mid-range model (with a capacity of 1195 lbs) we ended up getting was foldable for storage, which makes for a smaller footprint in our garage. And we also will be adding decking ourselves, but the usefullness of a tow trailer is immeasurable. If you are considering such a heady purchase, rest assured that Harbor Freight has these things on sale periodically (we saved $70!), so check their website for their sales flyer and you can also read customer reviews on individual items. If you get excited about hardware, you will like this store. Just put your dirty baseball cap on backwards, roll around in some axle grease, and don your coveralls, and you'll feel right at home here! read more

I was like out of time and manager save the day . By letting me come in and get the metal blade that I needed. And the cashier and manager great us just like we were the first customer of the day. I always buy my specialty tools there. Great selection. read more

Store manager is very rude about their return policy. Could have handled it differently.

This place is really great. We have been doing dyi on our home. We ran into issues and did not have much in the budget for tools we did not know we would need. We shopped the big box stores and prices were too above our budget. We went for coffee and next door was Harbor Freight Tools. The tools we needed were not common, but we decided to visit and see what they had. Not only did Harbor Freight have the tools, but they were UNDER our budget. SCORE! While getting those tools we found the diamond blade we were searching for! In stock and again under budget. We have used the tools and all performed excellently. Harbor Freight is going to be our first place to shop now! read more

You can get some really cheap tools and household items such as batteries and small scales here. They often have ads in the mail that have some good coupons for an even better deal on supplies. If you're a fix-it, handyman type person, it's a great store to browse through. read more

Shelves are pretty empty, which is understandable with current world situation, but I have two issues. It appears the store does not know what they will receive prior to shipment delivery. I've called on a weekly basis looking a specific item and they can't if it on the delivery, because they don't know what they will receive. Very poor distribution system. My second complaint is the store manager. Not helpful and not friendly at all. My shopping days at this location are over. read more

HF is my favorite store next to 99 Cents Only stores and WalMart. This location is closest to my house. Can you imagine this single SENIOR WOMAN likes HF so much? HF is my Honey Do ! The stuff is so cheap already, sometimes a single use makes the purchase worth it. Several times I got defective merchandise, such as an orbital car polisher, where when you turned it on for the first time, horrible racket and all these plastic shards came flying out. Another time I bought a hand truck/cart. 1 year later I paid a day-laborer to put assemble it and discovered that the L shaped platform and it's screw assembly holes and platform width did not match the holes and width on the poles. It was discontinued by HF and not even in their computer, but they knew they sold it and gave me credit for what I said I paid for it $19.95. Another time I bought a bistro/beach umbrella with wooden spines, which broke the first time I used it, and the wind blew it down. It was beyond the 90 days or I didn't have receipt, but they gave me credit. They do not carry those crappy items anymore. I never "got stuck" with any crappy item, because they refused to make me happy by taking it back, and I think I've been shopping at HF for at least 17 years. Recently I purchased a 50-ft no-kink garden hose from Lowes cos it was on sale, but still was $19.95. I wondered at the time, how much it would be at HF. After buying it, I found HF had a sale on their 50-ft no-kink hose, marked down from $17.99 to $13.99, plus I love it that HF lets me STILL use their 20% off coupon on a sale item, so price would have been $11.19. So I returned the Lowes hose, saving $8.76. HF workers are helpful whatever store I shop at. No bad service or experience ever stuck in my memory, and it is a LONG one! I also get the free items for a no-minimum requirement purchase using 20% off coupon for that too. Then I put the free items in a Christmas gift exchange bag. I think those 25 foot orange tape measures with the super large size numbers, headlamps, and blue multiple LED flashlights (football field shaped) make GREAT GIFTS. Asking for my phone number at the cash register lets the stores know I frequent it, and then they keep me on the mailing list for their sales and special coupons for free items that are better than those found in the junk mail ads. That's what an employee told me, anyhow. read more

They always have cheap deals. Yes I understand that their tools are lower quality, but they work just fine if you don't intend to use them 24/7. I guess I've been lucky and haven't came across any bad tools yet and I have a few tools (sanders, saws, etc)from here. You can always find coupons for this place, they are in every coupon mailer. They have a good return/exchange policy too (with a receipt) and they always offer a protection plan. Don't forget they also have cheap prices on things like tarps, gloves, and clean up rags- items where quality doesn't matter as much. read more

Employees were bad-mouthing customers in the back when I walked by. I just try to avoid the store now. The long lines and lack of any help. They did not carry t50 staples. They had an off brand that didn't fit. I had to go to Lowes which had a great selection of staples. What set me off today was my coupon didn't start yet. I didn't realize coupons have a start date. I thought they expire. So my coupon wasn't valid...yet. They are running so many small print deals you can't even read when the coupon starts or ends it's kind of lame. I'm losing any reason to go back to Horrible Freight read more

Harbor freight is an interesting store, they definitley have great prices but in many instances you get what you pay for. I bought a dolley and the thing broke within the 2nd use. I also get many supplies from here and they are great for that. read more

The other day I purchased 2 moving dollys; one wood, one hard plastic. When we tried to use the plastic one it popped its caster throwing little metal balls everywhere. Needless to say it was useless so we weren't able to use it. Later that day I went back to the store to return it. I didn't know what to expect since I don't usually shop here but was preparing for an argument. Never happened, the clerk returned the item for a full refund no problem. A long time ago we had purchased a grinder that was DOA and they also returned that hassle free. Big kuddos to Harbor Freight for not being difficult and I look forward to shopping here again! read more

Holy crap! Um, wow. Never saw a store like this before. Kind of part hardware store, part survivalist store, part specialty item store, and part toy store for adults. There's stuff here I've only seen in print and online catalogs before--never in person. From air compressors to auto supplies to home security equipment to workshop supplies to powerful magnets to solar power arrays to etc. to etc. to etc., this place has everything you can't find at the other stores. My wife and I were looking around at several stores for a can crusher. No dice, until I took the advice of someone at Fry's who suggested Harbor Freight. They actually had two to choose from, and the clerk I asked told me which of the two was of better quality. I also found one of those electric bug zappers that looks like a tennis racket. From there, I just wandered through aisle after aisle saying to myself, "OMG, they have THIS here?" I was practically salivating at some of the stuff, and if I had the money I would have walked out with a cart full and more. When Walmart and Home Depot leave you disappointed in your quest to find object X, you will likely find it here, and at rock bottom price. Before you go online and pay the shipping cost for that specialty item, give this place a gander first-- they may just have it. If you like gadgets and thingamajigs, and you haven't experienced this place yet, it's high time. read more

Today made the third time in a row that I've tried to buy different items from this location where the website says the item is in stock and then when I get to the store they are out of stock here. Last time my item was even more out of inventory whack as there were none on Warner road and 45 in East Mesa for the same item ... read more

The right tool for the job really helps. As with many jobs however I only do them once in a blue moon. The tools here are cheap enough to make it worth while to buy it. My friends and I have a joke, everything sold here eventually becomes a hammer. It is true just about everything is made in chine and may not last more than a few uses, but often that is enough. If you see a coupon price in a mailer be sure to bring it with you as the in store ads do not have the coupons. Typically I avoid the power tools and stick to the hand tools, jack stands and miscellaneous items. If you need a tool, and rather save some cash instead of handing it down to your kids check out Harbor Freight. read more

Place is a Mecca for cheapass DIYselfer! Do not expect a fancy showroom here. Do not expect "How are you? Can i help you with ANYTHING today?" from a pimply teen. Do not expect to see a brand you seen before - "WTF kinda brand is Dixie Picks?!?" Do not expect to drop a ton of cash here - "What? 79c on sale for this screwdriver?!? OMFG i was totally looking for this kind." DO EXPECT a ton of cheap shit - tools, hardware, garden stuff, machinery, etc Whatever you may need to use to perform some task in and around the house. Its there. None of it is blingy, in shiny wrappers or of superb quality, but its all there. Bottom line is - If you need something that you are not planning on using forever or hard or ever and do not want to pay real money for it - this place is for YOU! If you need something disposable for one time use and to throw out - this place is for YOU! If you are silly and think $3 China made ratchet will last you lifetime and perform flawlessly - this place is for YOU! If you need something that IS of some kinda brand name and they happen to carry it - this place is for YOU! "I like" read more

I definitely give 5 stars for the customer service. Every time I come in the staff is always exceptionally helpful and friendly. This location is close so I go there for some things occasionally. It's just your basic budget hardware store but it lacks that neighborhood feeling. The employees barely care and they often have conversations with each other rather than engaging with customers. If they didn't have such good deals on things like heat shrink I would probably not shop there. However, if you are an aspiring writer you could walk through and pick up some great character traits from all the crazy customers roaming around the place. read more

My dad and I came here to get a tool for a car project. We ended up leaving with a two ton jack for $40, originally priced at $111! Josh helped us and was not only very nice but willing to bargain with my dad and give us a price we could afford. All the employees were very pleasant and our short visit was a great one. Thanks again Josh! We had to go back 2 different times later that day because we bought the wrong tools, but Cisco and Becci were very helpful and quick to fix our errors. You know you are in a harbor freight when you walk in the door and take a big whiff of the air. They have some okay stuff here and they also have a lot of junk. Don't shop here! I bought a saw and exchanged it because it was a lemon. But I thought maybe that was just a fluke, so I exchanged it. So then 30 days later the 2nd one broke. So I decided to just get my money back. They refused to give me my money back because "per store policy" the 2nd return gets store credit only. So now I have a $90 store credit for a store I will never do business with because of their shady practices. The supervisor acknowledged the saws were both their defects, but I'm not entitled to my money back. Scammers!! I'm a DIY kinda guy. I like working on my car. I like fixing up the house. I enjoy these things not because (like so many hipsters) I think its cute or cool. I fix things because I'm cheap, and I think things should last. The awesome thing about Harbor Freight is that they sell tools that are cheap and that last. They have almost any kind of air tool or power tool you could need, plus enough hand tools to build an arc or repair a aircraft carrier. My only qualms are that they don't have fittings for PVC and the lack of a lumber yard. read more
