I came in here yesterday asking about knife sharpening services and lady at the counter was very helpful. She told me that the knife sharpening guy comes in on Wednesdays and Sundays. Today, I brought my knives in (it's a Wednesday) in the morning and my knives were ready by early afternoon. To sharpen each knife, it's $1.99. Ive been in this store 3 times now and on every visit, everyone working here is very helpful and friendly. A+ customer service and got the services I need! I'll be coming back for sure! read more

This is one of the better ACE hardware stores in the valley. I love the large selection of hardware and constantly shop here to find those unique clips, ferrules, nuts and bolts to complete my project. This store also has a good Craftsman section and Still products. My go to spray paint is the ACE hardware brand. I restored my 53 Ford frame with this in satin black. Good stuff and staff! read more

Paula & Jared were very helpful trying to help me make a duplicate key! There was some system issues but we prevailed! Update: not only was my card charged more than 3x for the key after being told my card did not work. I was also treated horribly by Lizzie, the supervisor who was just as unhelpful as everyone else. I called on Friday to confirm the refund details with Paula & the supervisor on staff - only to be treated unprofessionally by Lizzie. Who said it wasn't her fault nor her problem. This store is terrible, it's terribly empty at all times, as soon as you step foot in the store your followed continuously, even after saying you don't need help. They don't price match even other Ace hardware prices. Their soil is way over priced for the happy frog soil it's priced at a whopping 59.99 for 2 cu ft while another Ace has it at 41.99 which is still ridiculously overpriced that they would not price match. Save your time go to a local grow shop or anywhere else and you can find the exact same soil for 25 bucks. Haven't lived in the area long but I am more than willing to drive double the time it takes to get here for anything else. read more

On November 26th of last year, I very regrettably took a damaged window screen to the Ace Hardware location on 48th street and Warner road in Ahwatukee. Within these 6 months, I have had to return to their store 6 times, 5 of those to pick up my screen that was to have been remade. My take away from this process - Ace Hardware simply doesn't know how to make screens! Each time I returned the screen for a remake, I patiently explained to multiple people in their screen department, how to measure the screen property and NEVER have they heeded my instructions! Each time, they tried to sluff off a screen on me with the wrong dimensions. After all of these wasted trips back and forth, came to a crescendo when I received a call from their store manager, a rather ignorant seeming individual, who'd requested that I come in for a refund as he wanted to be rid of the problem. I was incredulous that after 6 months, instead of continuing to right their past mistakes, they had chosen to give up altogether! As an entrepreneur of more than 40 years, I've learned that without a customer centric attitude, I wouldn't have had customers. I've also learned that almost always, a poorly run business rots from the head down and the rotten head in this case is clearly the manager. His abysmal attitude is obviously pervasive as no one in their organization seems to care. My goal in this process is that as a member of the Ahwatukee community for over 30 years, my fellow community members need to be aware of the lack of care and attention of this very poorly managed business. Came to the store right before closing. Water was shut off at home and I needed a plumbing part desperately. I thought if going to Depot or Lowe's, but felt this store was more likely to have what I needed, and they did. The staff was exceptionally pleasant, going out of their way to help me and find my fittings and parts. Went there this morning to get a key made and that was it. Went to the very back where the keys are, my 6 year old son was with me and the younger worker was actually nice and helpful so he gets the positive star. Why I deducted stars is because the two old guys. The really old guy behind the key counter was non stop cursing every word in the book in front of customers and children, and being a worker on the clock just.. non stop foul language cussing because a fly was bothering him. Then old guy #2 followed my son and I and stood there watching me like a creepy stalker. Would I really be in line at the checkout just to steal a single key? This was not the only time I've recieved poor service here. I would not be coming back at all, I'd rather drive 15 minutes out of the way to go somewhere else read more

I have been here a few times, and every time I have been here I have been greeted by a friendly rep, always gotten help when needed, and everyone seemed very genuine and happy to be there. They also are a larger location, so there is an excellent inventory and selection. We have experienced great customer service in the five or so visits at 48th and Warner location and it is not as overwhelming as going to HD or L. The staff works well together and I can tell takes pride in their store. They were very patient when we purchased our grill after the third visit. I feel their knowledge has helped me make a few great buying decisions. They researched an answer regarding Epoxy flooring diy and called me back with their findings. Not sure where to start on this one but here we go. Spring cleaning and clean up day. Spent 200 plus in the store today. Rented a chain saw that was duller than a butter knife but that's not my problem. I had keys made in the back last week that did not work. No problem so returned them. 3 millennials in the back tatted up, piercings , boy with painted black fingernails everywhere but gave them a shot. Spent 2 hours having them reprogram keys that still didn't work. Spent so much time waiting on the millennials who do t know they are doing but no problem. I went into the pizza joint because they were so incompetent to eat and returned to find a police car there and someone reported me as a suspicious person. Passed a sobriety test license checked and traveled home which was 2 miles away. The entire episode made me angry and another case where millennials should be avoided for their total ignorance and racial prejudice. I would bet if you gave these punks a drug test they would flunk. Worst customer service ever. They only have a manager there sometimes in the event you need one & if you try & call, the manager almost never returns a phone call. Purchased an item there & tried to return it but they tried to tell me they didn't ever sell it there which is BS because I purchased it as a special order from this exact store directly. That store is 30 miles away from my house. It will not return anything that was purchased from another store. On top of that, Most customer service are very ill informed and not knowledgeable. To anyone thinking they should buy from this Ace Hardware store: I am a patient man generally, but the personnel over at Ace Hardware, specifically an employee named Eric, has really tried my patience. I ordered some sun-screens for my windows for the Summer. I asked specifically if I needed to outlay some money up front and he said, "No". A week later he called me saying I needed to put 50% down before they could build them. So, I had to drive all the way over and give them some money. Fine... When I went to pick them up to today they had not put the cross-bar on any of the screens. This was something I specifically asked for, but Eric had failed to write that down on the order. When I questioned him on it he said I never said I wanted that the cross-bar. We got in a verbal argument right there. I DID ASK FOR THE CROSSBAR. I have four screens, they all had the cross-bar, why would I not want that. Eric admitted we talked about it. I complained to the manager and she said she would talk to Eric. I could see in her eyes that she wasn't going to do anything; just another customer complaining about something that wasn't worth complaining about. So, now I have to drive down again tomorrow once the cross-bars are in... ...and you, Ace on Warner road has lost a customer. The customer service in that store stinks! The old bald guy in the back, is a condescending asshole. Even my wife hates to have him help her because he always tries to make her feel stupid. Ace, hire some decent people to work for you. I will never, ever, ever, even if it costs me an hour of drive time and $100 extra to buy somewhere else I will never, ever, ever go to that store again. I like to come here because it's locally owned and it's a lot easier to get help than it is in Home Depot, but a couple of summer's ago it was really, really hot in the store. When I was paying I asked the cashier guy if the AC was broken and he told me that the owner liked to make a game of how low he could keep his electricity bill. Surely that month he hit an all time low. It was August and I could swear it was cooler outside. That's all besides the point though. I really like that they have loose screws and nails and that they cut keys and they have the pretty keys with flames painted on them. Pretty careless staff. I showed an associate a picture of Ace brand grass seed in my phone. She looked at a display of fertilizer and weed & feed products and proclaimed they did not have it. I asked if she could maybe check by the grass seed before ending her search. She insisted fertilizer was grass seed, so I showed her where the seed was and she could not have cared less. If you don't know the difference, fine. But don't tell me you are out of apples because there are none in the bin of oranges. Won't be back to this Ace due to this experience. read more

Ace is a great place to go when you are working on little projects aound the house. They cater to homeowners, not contractors. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Even though it is further from my house than Lowe's or Home Depot, I can get in and out of Ace much faster. The main reason I go here is because they carry Benjamin Moore paint, which I think is a higher quality than the big box store brands. read more

Worst customer service expirence by female manager and employees at ace. Called me liar for a mistake that one of their employees said to me about an additional charge being free. Manager argued with me and told me that was B.S ( very unprofessional ) with what her employee said to me. Poor management skills by manager to not make sure each employee knows the company's policies and procedures so that wrong information is not told to a paying customer.
