This use to be our home base Home Depot for project needs and for awhile there we were here more frequently than I'd like to admit, but with lots of house projects we got all the things from paint, landscaping/gardening materials, lighting, flooring and everything in between. Overall most of our experiences have been good for a big box store. This review is for our most recent experience in their paint department. We had previously received great service but this past experience was a bit odd. The paint associate seemed like he had no interest in being there whatsoever and was super unhelpful and bored when we asked a few questions on best paint for our project. The previous associate Matt was so stellar, super helpful and personable, I'm not sure if he's there anymore, but he was great. We most likely will return if the occasion arises, but I'd probably avoid their period section if I saw the same associate again. read more

I'm giving the store two stars because I like having it in the area, but I'm frustrated by the fact that I couldn't find any help. I wanted to buy some appliances and waited for 20 or 30 minutes. I walked all around trying to find someone and couldn't find a sole. I finally asked an associate in electrical for help, but was then I was caught by an appliance associate who said some was coming. Waiting, waiting, waiting, started giving up and walking away slowly, looking back hoping I someone would come, nope. ThenSURPRISE at the front of the store 6 people all with pads of paper talking about a display. Priceless, had to get a photo. I was on the app looking for a product At the Home Depot that I typically go to they did not have the product in stock and it said the product was available at store number 6862. Me being a normal human I don't know if that's the one on Riverview or the one on Val Vista so I called the Riverview location to ask what their store number was and the person said 469 I had asked the person at the country club location what their store number was before and they told me it's 469 so the customer service person working at the front desk at the Riverview Home Depot doesn't know the store number. I've also had the worst luck at this Home Depot with trying to get any type of question answered. You would think they would at least do some basic training for the people working in some of the departments someone in electrical was trying to tell me that 20 amp outlets are old and you don't need them anymore you can just replace all of your outlets in your house with 15 amp. read more

One of the worst locations I have visited!!!! 9 out of 10 employees were rude and preferred to look the other way instead of doing their job, which I believe is to make themselves approachable and even available to answer customers questions. Husband and I just completed a bathroom remodel. Unfortunately, we happened to be in the Mesa Riverview area and chose to purchase materials at that HD location. While entering the store, we saw three different associates, not one greeted us. Later as we were shopping for materials, I had an older female associate walked by me and gave me a side look, only to run into my husband a few steps later and completely change her demeanor and be all friendly to him. I noticed that Home Depot does not have their feedback option on their receipts anymore, so I am posting this Yelp review in hopes that customers choose other locations that are more customer service oriented. read more

Our $1200+ vanity order arrived 5 days early, today. However, Home Depot's shipping company (Reliant Deliveries, LLC, Phoenix, AZ) gave us issues: 1.  We received NO notification the delivery was coming today; 2.  Had we not heard the truck, we would have never known it was there; 3.  We watched the delivery driver remove a large palleted box from the truck; 4.  The delivery driver dropped it in front of our garage and was beginning to walk away, when my husband went out there & told the driver it needed to be delivered INSIDE; 5.  The delivery driver stated, "We just drop.  We don't deliver inside." (????!!!) Soooooo... MY HUSBAND WHEELED IT all the way around the house (we live on a corner) to the INSIDE with a hand cart with NO help from Mr. Delivery Driver, who just stood there (pictured)!!! Are you kidding me Home Depot???????????? We spent over $1200.00 on this vanity and the driver was going to drop it and run?????!!!! We are appalled and disturbed by this treatment!!! Having spent over $3K at Home Depot in the last few months on our reno project, we will DEFINITELY reconsider Lowes vs Home Depot for our next purchase! (And, I might add, that we purchased a vanity prior to this and THAT delivery driver brought it to the front door and HELPED bring it into the house.) The old lady at the checkout at the end of the night tonight had absolutely the worst customer service and tact of any employee I've come across at Home Depot and to make matters worse. She was the second completely unhelpful employee in one night. When I realized the card I needed to use was not in my wallet I apologized multiple times as I tried to transfer the funds over as fast as I could but someone walked up behind me and I asked if she could let him go really quick and she very rudely told me "if you're not going to pay right now you need to leave, we're closed." It was a minute before closing and I was just embarrassed and trying to help. I left with nothing. Last night, the employees at my normal Lowe's store helped me with cutting wood 15 minutes past when they were closed and even insisted on helping me get it into my car. I work long hours supporting my kids as a single mom and they know all the fun projects I tried to do for my kids, only reason I went to Home Depot was because I also needed to go to Walmart next-door. NEVER AGAIN put her on the saw cutting wood in the back. read more

Love their garden section with all of the great deals on plants and flowers for my garden. Home Depot is always a good reliable spot for plants. I come here almost every year to get annuals to put on my patio and flowers and what not. They're usually pretty good except sometimes the service isn't the greatest because there's not someone there to help you then you have to run around and find someone. BEWARE: Mostly rude and incompetent workers. I'll never step foot in this HD again. Went here looking for a masonry drill bit, difficult to spot. I asked for assistance. Older worker told me to wait, he was assisting a group ahead of me. Then a younger worker passed by, so I asked if he would help. He started looking at screwdriver bits. I reminded him I needed a masonry drill bit. He then walked over to the aforementioned older worker, asking one if the screwdriver bit in his hand was what I needed. The old guy scoffs, looks at me and says, "No, Ma'am. What you need is a masonry bit. I'll help you when I'm finished here!" I waited. 15 minutes passed and a new male customer interrupts the worker, saying he needs a specific drill bit. Worker stopped and assisted the man. Since he was being so generous with his time, I asked if he'd mind just showing me where a 3/16 masonry drill bit is, or something approximately that size. "Ma'am, please wait," waving a finger in my face. He then inexplicably proceeded to help other customers, both on the phone and coming down the aisle. The group of 5 men, by this time, palpably agitated, gave me sympathetic glances. I finally walked over to the self-check area overseen by a friendly young woman, Rachel, to ask if she could get someone else to help the crowd now gathered around the drill bits. By now I've waited 30 mn. Rachel smiled, picked up the phone and told someone on the other end there was a woman in hardware (me) who needs assistance. Another worker walked up and helped the most recent man who was in the area. Mind you, I was the only woman. Apparently invisible. He helped the guy and then I asked him if he'd be able to assist me. He looked around at all the men, starts to chuckle, and says, "Well, ma'am, I can't do your nails." I was gobsmacked. Furious. Speechless. At that moment, I really didn't care how funny he thought he was, at my expense. Neither did any of the other men standing around, shaking their heads and silently conveying a message, "Not cool, dude." He laughed, "Oh, come on now..." I said, "No! That's just not ok." He walked away and said, "Fine." It was the kind of walk-away that said, "If you can't take my kind of joke, I'm not going to help the likes of you." I had a project to finish and didn't want to waste any more of my time, so walked back to Rachel, who rang a manager, unavailable. Another customer suggested I try the "Pro" desk. I approached a "Pro" whose aloofness indicated he didn't appreciate the interruption. I explained what had just transpired. He offered to assist, and walked over to the -- get this -- screwdriver bits. Again, I explained to the poor Pro that, no, what I needed was a 3/16 MASONRY DRILL BIT. (I didn't yell it, but I thought about it, between deep breathing exercises.) Finally, another worker asked the Pro if he could help. Pro said I needed screwdriver bits for my concrete wall. The other worker corrected me, telling me that, "No, Ma'am, what you need is..." I sighed..."Masonry drill bit, 3/16 inch." He told me that I needed a plastic anchor. I whipped it out of my pocket. He told me I had the wrong screw. I explained, yessir, know that's not a masonry screw, but it's what came with the lights I bought from Costco which said I could use it for concrete. If you could JUST help me find a 3/16 MASONRY DRILL BIT, I would be most grateful. He was eventually patient and helpful and led me exactly to the place. 45 minutes later, driving home, I called the manager. She apologized and offered me a $25 gift card for my next visit. I'm shopping at Ace from now on. The full version wouldn't fit herein, but it's going to Corporate. read more

5 stars for all of the help from Sarah at online orders. I was looking for a soldering station for Father's day and she was able to locate it for me. It was not on the shelves so it took alot of work to find it. Service above and beyond great! Also this Home Depot store is always clean and I stop here often after work on my way home for supplies. The entire staff has always done a good job. I still wish that they would lay out all of the Home Depot stores in the same way. I go to about 10 Valley locations and they are always set up differently and it takes about and extra 15 minutes each time to find what I am looking to buy. Overall I think Home Depot is still the best place around for home supplies. read more

If I could find my lumber at the same price elsewhere, I'd go there. Customer service sucks. Pallets are mislabeled. Online inventory doesn't match ANY of the stores actual inventory. When I ask for assistance I'm met with them completely ignoring me or saying they can't or won't help and then refer me to a bay with damaged wood that I cannot use. I spend on average $1500-$2000/ week at any Home Depot in a 30 mile radius of my glendale shop and it's the same in every store. Quality check your lumber and get better staff. read more

This Home Depot is probably the closest one to my house. Now granted, I am an apartment dweller, but I still need stuff from places like this from time to time. I had done a few trips here last summer when I moved into my place for hand tools, light bulbs, a sunshade, and a few other random dance moves that I needed to get through the insanity of moving. Now that moving is long behind me, I just come here for the usual light bulbs or drano. I love this place becuase they have awesome hours, and are close to me. I really have no complaints. I actually came here for a face plate for an electical socket on my wall that broke. It was a cheap plastic cover, and I decided to fix it myself. Its easy enough, and there was really no reason to call apt maintainence for something like this. So I went, and they had a nice little selection of covers. I just got the simple white one, and paid and left. I found the service to be very helpful here, and would return in a heartbeat. gotta love my depot! read more

I'm not a huge fan of these stores in general, however it's helpful when there is good customer service. I noticed the store was clean and in order, so that was nice to note upon entering. This makes it easier to look for things and is welcoming I general. The greater was polite and asked if I needed help. I was trying to buy a full propane tank ( running an errand for my other half) and I wasn't sure where they were located. I was directed to the self serve cash out line where the cashier manning the station charged me and told me someone would meet me outside. Eventually someone did and it was another customer who helped me get it in the cart. It wasn't a bad experience, it wasn't the best experience and the job got done. :) now I can carry on and grill up some grass fed ribeye and the veggies I got at the market this morning! Once the paperwork is signed you're on your own. I thought by going through Home Depot I would avoid problems with vendors. Nope. Still got the vendor problems (Chivino Surfaces, Parker & Sons Plumbing), and Home Depot can't be bothered to intervene. Without warning I'm without a kitchen and nobody at Home Depot can give me a timeline for completing a relatively simple project. More than 12 Home Depot employees are on the project now, and I've heard "I'm sorry" more times than I can count, but nobody's making any real effort to resolve the problem(s). read more

And we were told it was fixed and wouldn't be a problem again . Well guess what it's a problem ! They basically treated us like we were tweekersand refused to let us buy potting soil . I am an 87 year old retired registered nurse. I have been helping out a friend who is temporarily in a wheelchair. (broken foot) Her door to go out has a 3 1|4 inch drop. Getting out is difficult enough, but getting her in is a real challenge. I went to the lumber department to find wood to make a ramp. A few years ago I could have made one myself, but I no longer have the tools to do it. I spoke with David who said he would help. Indeed He helped very well. In a short time he had produced a substantial ramp better than I could have done. He got called away and Tom finished off the project with screws to make it complete. These 2 fine young men are to be applauded for assisting me to assist my disabled friend. I am very grateful for the employees at Home Depot. Thank you very much. I was under the impression that staff were there to assist customers and also I assumed that the products purchased were in new condition. Truly unprofessional to have 2 hopper guns within reach but both units were missing parts or still had residue from being used previously. When we asked for staff to get a new unit down from top shelf( out of reach for any customer) we received a bad attitude from employee. I hope management gets their employees in check and teaches the fine art of customer service. Why should I give my money to a company that doesn't appreciate my business. After 15 mon I asked again and they finally sent someone not too knowledgeable on plants and just answering quickly my questions with the feeling the person was in the rush.
