Excellent value, quick, easy experience, zero hassle. I was not looking forward to appliance shopping (for a rental unit that needed a new oven and fridge). They made it SO easy. Bought appliances - scheduled delivery. They use a 3rd party service- who took a pic of a dirty fridge valve said it was rusty and wouldn't install. I called a plumber who said nothing was wrong with your valve and the delivery folks were just lazy! Called the shop who said he will talk to his mgr (because I paid for installation) and I never heard from them again. We installed the fridge ourselves and sold the old one (they were suppose to take that too) Next time I'll just save up a little more for Lowe's. read more

We were on the hunt to replace our washer and dryer in our rental and wanted something basic, but also needed it to be electric, front loaders and cost effective. After doing extensive research of various locations, new vs used and everything in between we found ourselves at Select Appliances. They're tucked off of University in their own section. The parking lot is not big by any means, but they do have an area for pick up and exit for larger automobiles or trailers. When you first enter, you walk into a smaller room with various freezer and small fridges, then walk through another doorway to a majority of their appliances. They have a pretty extensive collection from washers and dryers, to fridges, stoves and the stand up steam closets. I am sure they have even more that we did not see! We were greeted by the two gentlemen behind the counter asked if we needed any assistance. We found a washer and dryer set that checked our boxes, right at front, so just asked a few questions and were ready to check out. Truly quickest appliance trip ever. They had a few different sets of the models we were able to choose from. I believe all of the appliances are new and a majority of their inventory is scratch and dent, but most of it seemed in excellent shape. There ended up being some minor imperfections on ours, but nothing prevalent or that impacts the function. They gave us a 5% military discount which was great, a run down on the appliance, the one year warranty and if we needed drop off and/or disposal. I am sure there is an extra cost for these services, but we did not need them and I did not catch it. Once we checked out, they told us to pull through the side ramp and no joke, four workers came out and got the job done so conveniently and tactfully. They put cardboard in between to avoid scratches and made sure it was strapped down well! i should have took a photo, but they were a great team. Went there looking for a Washer/Dryer set. GoldMan and Martin were fantastic helping out. Go ahead and ask them any questions you want as they are very knowledgeable, and very patient. Got exactly what we wanted and saved HUNDREDS of dollars for a small dent on the side of the dryer that you cannot even see when it is in place in our laundry room. Delivery was fantastic as well. Bought on Sunday and they were installed by 8:45am Monday. It took Colton and his colleague 15 minutes to remove our old appliances and completely install our new ones with new hookups and everything. This was for a fee that was at least 70% less than what big box stores wanted for just one unit, let alone two. In the near future, we are going to need a new dishwasher and a new refrigerator. Gordon was great in answering my questions, telling me about their warranty, and going over the specs for the refrigerator I bought. Unfortunately, the delivery team is lacking in customer service. Gordon told me that they could deliver next day and a delivery person will call me the next morning a few hours in advance with a drop off window. I received a call at 6:50am the next day on a Saturday but missed it and received voicemail stating they were "10-15 minutes out" for delivery. I missed their delivery window but had I had know they were going to deliver that early I would have set an alarm. Gordon was able to reschedule delivery the following Monday. I had to ask the delivery person to install the refrigerator and hookup the waterline which you'd think is standard when paying for delivery and installation. They originally left it in the living room until i questioned them. It makes the company seem lazy when you ask mthem to do the bare minimum. Also, I received a new scratch on the front of my refrigerator which wasn't there when I took a picture of it on the sales floor. I probably wouldn't buy from Select Appliance again but if you're in the market for a cheap appliance that'll be hidd make sure you have a truck and dolly for optimal delivery. read more

I recently purchased a house with a washer and dryer that for the most part did not work and looked fairly beat up. So I spent some time doing research on buying new appliances at a big box store or something more... local. I'm glad I found the guys at Select Appliance (via Yelp)! They're literally 5 minutes from my house. Initially I emailed them the specs of my laundry space to see what was available for my budget. I got a nice response within a day-ish that intrigued me with the given prices. Surely $1100 wouldn't get me basically brand-new stackable laundry appliances?! They were right, I was wrong. And glad of it! Stopped by on my way home one afternoon after that to check the stock out and was immediately greeted and assisted. Wish I could remember the guy who helped me then as he did so the following day when I decided to come back and actually buy an LG washer/dryer set he pointed me to. The $1100 paid for both appliances, a 1-year warranty on both, delivery and installation ($75), and the pieces which make them one stackable unit ($40). They've used the same third-party for installation and delivery for many years and let me know they would def try to accommodate my request for morning delivery (they did). The guys called me ~30min ahead of time to make sure I was home. The delivery men even hauled away my old POS for me (thank God). Within 90 minutes it was all set up and I was deep in the throes of doing laundry in my home for the first time. read more

Discount junk is more like it . Don't by damaged or defective or repaired appliances . I guess if you like having stress and headaches then go here. They are nice until they get your money . Then once it breaks they say , we don't warranty it the manufacturer will help you , good luck with that . Our dryer went out about 3 weeks ago. Our neighbor had purchased Appliances from here and highly recommended Select Appliance. My wife and I walked in and Ken and another salesman, as well as the 3 dogs met us when we walked into the showroom. I love a businesses that bring their pets with them. We told him what we were looking for and he took us to show us a Samsung unit with all the computerized front on it, (It had 37 Different dryer modes, w/Bluetooth along w/Alexa, where you can order the dryer to bring you a beer on your cellphone, if it's not busy drying something) My wife was so unimpressed with all that stuff. She said, "It's a dryer"! Ken understood exactly what she meant and immediately took us over to the "Flintstone Collection", which totally satisfied my wife! We were IN, Product selected, Paid for and OUT the door in 15 minutes! Best Appliance shopping experience of my life! We bought a beautiful LG refrigerator that is normally sold for $3000. Because of a few minor scratches, we paid half of that! The owner and employees are super friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to make sure that you know where all of the scratches and dents are. They offer delivery and setup for a very reasonable price. Best of all, there is NO PRESSURE! Just got a 31cf LG from these guys on Friday LOVE IT - didn't know I could be so happy with a kitchen appliance! I did my price research before arriving, so I know what my fridge costs without dings - we saved almost $1,000 by being okay with a few dings and scrapes & 1 year warranty vs. manufacturer 10-year. I'm FINE with that - LG rates really well, it's trust-worthy. I like that the fridges here are NEW, just got roughed up in transport. After researching the purchase, I'm wary to buy a random used one without knowing where it was kept or what rotted in it... this is a good balance of quality/condition vs. cost. The guys are surprisingly young & sharp. They went straight to bottom line price, saving time & hassle. They offered to switch out a handle that was exceptionally dinged up, set us up with a freezer drawer that lined up perfectly, and had it delivered Monday. We actually had fun with them joking around as we made the deal. The dog on site is a bonus if you have to bring your kids with you... she might be the most calm dog I've ever met, likes everyone, & will be just the right amount of distraction for your kids while you shop. The delivery company they use had 2 giant guys show up that were astoundingly polite. They were incredibly careful to not ding any corners from street to install, apologized for leaving the door open & letting the hot air in, set up the fridge and the water line, cleaned up the floor from his water test & kept referring to me as ma'am. read more

So after paying them way too much to "professionally install" the washer and dryer cords, yesterday I noticed my floor was squeaking and soaking wet, then I realized that the water was coming from my washer machine. I looked behind the washer and saw the washer cords shooting out water! I had to go to Home Depot, buy new washers, an expensive vice grip, and crawl back there in a crazy uncomfortable position, now that the washer machine was already installed. The cord was kinked on the plastic piece at a crooked 45 degree angle, raised halfway and loose, looked like a little kid did this! NEVER AGAIN will I trust this company, don't have these guys install your connections unless you want to do it again at a much less convenient time, for more money and stress. Talk about a waste of money. My floor was drenched, spent hours trying to dry it up, the problem is the wood absorbed too much, might create mold and ruin the wood itself (we just spent our entire tax return of $3,100 on new wood floors). Horrible service. If you are not good with handy stuff, find a friend or someone who is, don't trust this untrained and unprofessional company. Their laziness cost me three hours of time, an enormous amount of stress and frustration, another $30 bucks on top of what I paid them, a crappy night (was supposed to go out on a date with my wife, and instead was stuck messing with this washer bull$), all because the guys didn't pay attention and were lazy. I did a better job and I have never installed one before this frantic event. In my case I didn't get what I paid for, hope this can help some other people avoid the drama I had Sunday night. read more

I gave a neutral rating because I went to purchase a washer and dryer front load. They showed me 3 sets from minor to extensive dent. Yes it is what they advertise and I don't have any problem but be a smart shopper and if you take the time, in my case one phone call at Spencer appliances and I found out that the model they were promising with a supposed discount was more than a brand new one. I was flabbergasted to find out that the discount they advertise is from RETAIL, so any minor shopping and you have the chance to find a brand new one for less. In my exact case, they were asking $1200 for the pair, remember they are not brand new and have no manufacture warranty. One call at Spencer and they were asking $520 per unitt so $1040. Yes you saw correctly, brand new out of the box, good service, free installation for $160 less. So I just thought you should know that what seems a good deal is not always the best deal. Good luck but I suggest you do your home work and just don't take their words for the discount your are getting. Conclusion, I ask the men if he was correct with his price and he told me frankly if I had a better deal some where else to go and get it, so I left and went directly to Spencer Appliances. read more

Great selection, poor value, awful customer service. I have a similar experience to Jimmy (1/24/2013). Went to get a front load washer/dryer and they have a great selection, some of which have very little damage. Eric was the employee I was working with and he was very talkative but not a very good listener. I told him several times I was looking for a 5.1 cubic foot capacity LG frontloader and he sold me one he insisted was the largest one LG makes, so I assumed it was the 5.1. It wasn't until I got home with the receipt in hand that I realized the error... I ran the model number on google and quickly found out that he sold me the 4.0 not the 5.1. After making a phone call to Home Depot I realized that I could get the brand new 4.0 from Home Depot for $50 cheaper, which doesn't make sense at all since the models at Select Appliance are all damaged. I was hoping that Eric would work with me on pricing and come down to make us a deal, but instead he flew off the handle when my husband called to negotiate. We ended up having him cancel the transaction altogether and I left with the feeling that I dodged a bullet. If I'm going to give up the 10 year manufacturer's warranty and the look of a brand new appliance, I want to get a great deal on it. I'm just grateful in the end SA was willing to issue a refund (the machines had not been delivered yet). read more

My boyfriend and I just came from Select Appliance and words can't convey how pleased we were! We've been looking for LG appliances for our new house and came across an ad for this store. Although we live in Glendale, we decided to made the drive to Mesa to check out their inventory. As soon as we entered the warehouse, we noticed the large supply of LG washers/dryers, fridges, ovens and almost any other major appliance you could think of. We were soon greeted by Eric, who introduced himself and let us know he was there if we needed him, but didn't hover around us as we browsed. As advertised, the appliances have some dings and dents but that wasn't an issue for us. Plus, the majority of the damages were really minor considering the huge reduction in price and there's a one year warranty. We purchased a washer/dryer set for $1800 when retail was easily $1100 EACH and my kitchen will have a brand new French door LG fridge that I feel we got a smoking deal on for $1600 when retail was $2999! Plus, Eric was extremely nice and even gave us a break on the delivery charge. We are definitely pleased with our experience and plan on spending the word about Select Appliance! read more

I had a very similar experience as Jimmy and Aleta. I went on a Monday to purchase a steam LG dishwasher. They had an ad on craigslist for a dented model for $499 that was posted on 9/22. The day I went they listed the model and changed the price to $699. That was fine. I understand sales. The salesman asked what I was looking for and I told him what I wanted and he said they were all sold out and that he would call me on Wednesday as he was expecting a new one. He said the price would be $650. I never received a phone call. He was unhelpful, dismissive and very combative. My boyfriend called to ask about the posting on craigslist on Thursday and was told that they had the dishwasher I inquired about in and have had it for a couple days and the price was $700. The stated price they discount from is full retail. When I mentioned you can find them now for $900, he didn't believe me. Anyways, I just ordered my brand new dent free with a 10 year warranty from Spencer's. Its a much better value since I do not have to spend $150 + shipping for a new panel. Not to mention the hassle to install it. Call Spencer's. The staff is much friendlier and helpful. You get just as good of deals if not better. And you do not have to deal with a jerk. Also as a side note. I was going to purchase an LG double range and was thinking of purchasing it from Select Appliance. It was listed by Select for $1199. I found one on Amazon for $1239 with free shipping and no sales tax. It arrived in 4 days and was in perfect condition. When factoring in tax, I actually saved quite a bit for a brand new, full warranty, non-cosmetic issue range over a dented limited warranty range from Select. Save time and hassle and just go anywhere but Select. Select is a very untrustworthy shady business. read more

I found Select Appliances via Craigslist. At first it seemed too good to be true. They were listing appliances that sold for much higher prices at the big box stores. They have a large selection of LG appliances and the prices can't be beat. We bought a fridge, a washer and a dryer and saved $2000 over the listed prices at a major electronics store and two major hardware chains. delivery was free, and the hookup and installation was top notch. they used only braided steel cables for water feeds, and made sure everything was working as expected before leaving. It's not an easy place to find.. but very worth finding. I am recommending it to all my friends that like great deals and can live with some imperfections. read more

Not happy with the service after purchase. I did a lot of research and did not find a big difference in prices, but I prefer to support small businesses so I decided to purchase a fridge from here. There is a $75 delivery/install fee, which is acceptable. However, I was told that it would be at least 4 days to have it delivered, which is a long time to go without fresh groceries. Somehow Lowe's (which has equivalent prices and many many many more customers), can get it to you within 24 hours after purchase with free delivery. What makes me most upset is that we received an automated message 3 days after purchase (at 6:30 pm) saying that it would be delivered the following day between 4-8 pm (very late in the evening for a delivery). And why automated? One of the reasons i enjoy shopping at "mom and pop" shops is to avoid that. Even after all of this, I can at least accept the late night delivery (again, wanting to support small business). But, here I am at 7:45 pm without a fridge after ensuring that I left work to be home by 4 pm. I have called numerous times to ask for an ETA but there is no answer. Yes, I have 15 more minutes for them to deliver within the window... but for a 4 day delivery at 8 pm without significant savings, I don't think that it is worth it. This store offers discounts due to dents, scratches etc, with a $75 delivery fee. You can get the same model at a major appliance store without damage and free delivery with only spending an extra $50-$100. If you ask me, knowing that the appliance is brand new and the convenience of not having to wait until 8 pm 4 days after purchase is well worth the extra $100. And literally 10 minutes after writing this we got a call saying they wouldn't be here until 9 pm. I highly recommend to shop elsewhere (maybe a place that actually respects people's time) read more

Chose a Samsung front load washer and dryer, with minor cosmetic dents. $400 less than Lowes/HD. delivered and installed 2 days later by Ken, who had removed damage flawlessly and free and installed new stainless hoses and a new dryer vent. Don't buy appliances before you check this place out! I was really bummed that the 10 year old refrigerator/freezer side-by-side that came with the house was going to cost $500 to repair. The new ones at HD were around $1200, and that's just for a basic similar model, nothing fancy. When, on a whim, I called Select Appliances they said they had several units in the size I wanted, both new and used for $700 to $800, so I thought, why not? As it turns out, I found a really nice Samsung, 4 years old, for $400! It had a tiny ding in the front, but otherwise looked and ran like new! The salespeople were great, the delivery and installation were done within 48 hours, cost only an extra $75 - and they took away my old fridge. I can't say enough good things about this appliance store. They were very patient with me when I couldn't get the ice maker to work (I didn't wait long enough for it to cool down), and even sent a guy over to look at it. I saw their ad on Craigslist and called to inquire about a TV they had advertised and the sales associate verified that it was in stock. We got to the store, and it was the floor model, the associate neglected to mention that on the phone. We debated for awhile and the salesman said that he would be getting more of the same model in a few weeks and we could bring it back and exchange it for one in the box. So, we purchased the Samsung 60" LED/HDTV for a reasonable price, I was still a little worried about it being the floor model, they are on 24/7 and who knows how many more hours this had left. We paid for the TV and he gave us the receipt and I noticed that he didn't put in writing the agreement to exchange it, he refused to put it in writing (of course) and said "don't worry, I'm a man of my word" and at that point he had already swiped my bank card, the transaction was done so I was stuck. A week later I took the TV back as he agreed and also because the set would intermittently go black at times and made a high pitch sound. Got up to the counter to exchange it and he said "I never told you that!" we argued back and forth and he refused to exchange it, even under the 90 day warranty because he didn't have that model in stock anymore, if I wanted to exchange it, it would cost ME an additional $60!!!! I had no other choice but to pay it, the set he originally sold me was defective. I was going to purchase a fridge that day also until they refused to live up to their warranty and promise, I will NEVER go back to this store again! A very expensive lesson learned. I had some hiccups with our purchase which were making me mad, not all things were fault of SA -- however I will say that Select Appliance staff was very helpful and made sure to right any mistakes made. Ken was great help and so was Matt. I think I would recommend this store to others to save some money and get their items appliances quick... If you go into the store with clear understanding that some items may have visible dings or scratches then your fine. I don't know what others may be expecting. But it is possible to find items that are in pretty close to near perfect exterior condition. And so far all my purchases are good working condition still. It's scary to spend high amount at smaller businesses but I do think it's important to support smaller biz and hope for the best in service and guarantees. read more
