WARNING! DO NOT PURCHASE EXTENDED WARRANTY CONTRACT FROM SPENCER'S TV & APPLIANCE! In 2017, we bought a 5-year extended warranty contract from Spencer's TV & Appliance when we purchase a refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer, paying $600. The refrigerator stopped cooling on Tuesday. I retrieved the paperwork for the appliance and remembered about the warranty. We called Spencer's. They looked up the invoice to confirm the warranty purchase. They then said they would call the warranty service company with our information. They also gave us the name/phone of the company - Centurion Service Corporation. We called Centurion Tuesday (late afternoon) and left a message. We got a call back from them on Wednesday (late morning). They said they needed to call GE Repair to set up an appointment. Then asked if we wanted to hold or get a call back. We said we would hold. 20 minutes later, we were hung up on. We waited all day for a call back to no avail. During that time we called Centurion and left messages 5 times. Finally, Thursday, after trying to get Centurion on the phone, at 9:30 am we decided to call another company, Dynamic Appliance Repair, to look at the fridge. Although they were booked solid for the day, they promised to have a technician to us between 11 and 2. The gentleman, Scott, showed up at our door at 11:30 am (with the needed parts). He expertly fixed our fridge (he knew what the problem was just from our description on the phone) and was gone by 12:00 noon. Turns out Scott is the owner of Dynamic Appliance Repair, who decided that because his other techs were booked, he took our call himself. That is customer service! While Scott was still here, Centurion called (big mistake!). They said that they have verified that we did in fact have an extended warranty. Excuse me? That was verified 4 days ago by the store! Then Centurion proudly told us they could have a technician to us by next Wednesday - 6 days out! OMG! They were told that we had already called someone else, and that the refrigerator was being worked on. We then called Spencer's. Told them what had been happening, and that we wanted a refund of our $600 because they breached our contract. They started in with this song and dance that the contract would be prorated ... blah, blah, blah. Moral of the story? Spencer's extended warranty is a fraud. Centurion Service is a sham. Caution. Do yourself a favor price match and go to Costco. Or at least avoid Jacob at Mesa Location. Went in looking for a fridge with a door swing that is narrow enough to miss a wall next to the fridge. I was told a fridge that was not on display would clear and was the same as a similar fridge on the floor. Went home and verified measurements and spent over 5k. I was also buying Microwave, Dishwasher, and Range. Had to decide between 2 dishwashers. I was also told everything was in stock and could be delivered in a few days. I live out of state and had a flight booked. A couple of days later I get a call your fridge isn't in stock and will be delayed a few days. I pay to reschedule my flight. First, the range & microwave are installed and the wrong dishwasher arrived. Found out the one I wanted wouldn't be in stock for a couple of weeks. Im guessing he didn't want to miss out on commission and sent the other. After talking to him he was able to locate one to be installed with the Fridge. Fridge arrives and its hinges are nothing like the one he said. The doors are once again hitting the wall not allowing me to open it. I text him multiple times and zero reply for weeks. I stop in the store and zero apology about any of it. Just deflecting and scrambling checking measurements and looking for a reason to pin the blame on me. They don't allow returns, he was, however, willing to return my fridge with the other one that was more expensive so Id have to pay more. We decided to pay a contractor to remove part of the wall instead. Even if they have the best price take the quote and go elsewhere to match. No return policy is BS. Out of pocket an extra $600 for flight change and wall removal. Plus the stress and BS of dealing with him. read more

Avoid, If you care about your hard earned $$. Spencer's Tv Appliance Spencer's Tv Appliance - Save your time and money. The sardonic sales representatives are guaranteed to give you the highest pricing, worst yet make you feel that delaying delivery is expected, ie be grateful Spencer's is on your side and will get your order ASAP. When I was told that it would be at least 3 months to receive I contacted the manufacture of the appliances and was told 10 days. vs the 3 months. The manufacture delivered as expected and at a lower cost. Why I did not check the manufacture first is my own stupidity. The worst part of my experience with Spencer's is receiving the refund. It had been 13 days from purchase to cancellation so I would receive a full refund, no restock fee.... It has been over 2 months since cancelling my order and Spencer continues to refuse to issue a refund. Spencer's sales will not provide the elusive corporate office phone number or respectfully address your complaint. All you will get is, I have worked here for, who cares number of years, and this has never happened. The sales representatives cannot provide documentation to the refund only that it happened. With this attitude You should avoid. The Spencer's I grew up transitioned to a tyranny of sales. I had to file a complaint with the AZ Attorney General, Visa and the bank. BUYER BEWARE. To end my story, VISA and Bank never received the electronic transfer and now the attorney general knows the dishonest practices of Spencer's. AVOID and call the manufacture if you want appliances. If you ask, a simple call to the manufacture will get you discounts that will exceed any brick/motor or online. read more

It seem that through the past 3 decades, Spencer's has been the go to place for my extended family's appliance needs. Installation of a GE Washer and Dryer, with all the best features from all their competitors, was on time and swift. The installers would not allow me to assist, and I understand that even as a total handyman. My detailed drawings were close enough to determine that the GE 5 cubic foot washer and dryer would barely fit with about 1" clearance to opening doors on both sides. Thankfully the drawing fit the machines, and they went into the 6' x 6' room with the expected small clearance. The GE washer, a 260 lb. all steel work horse, is able to process complex and even unstable loads with ease. All of its desirable and hidden features are very useful. I was able to wash a month worth of clothes, towels, linens, bathmats and bedding for 3 people in one day! The Dryer works amazingly swiftly, especially with the max washer spin speed of 1300 rpm. The hot wall hose attachments were not tight enough and leaked, but after a quarter turn, it was dry. It was much too easy, almost dangerously easy, to purchase from Spencer's, have it installed in 48 hrs., without really any money out, but I know that 18 months, same as cash with a 4-year warranty is a hot deal! Eggs $ are very up, food $ is Up, gasoline is still 35% higher than 2 years ago, but appliances are down in January 2023. It's a good time to buy. Each unit was actually $381 less than Costco! That is a minimum of $761 dollar savings plus the benefits of installation for just $35, haul away of the old for $12 and the 48 month Spencer' warranty fosters a feeling of security to Wash On and On. read more

Kyle Fleming is your go*to guy for all things Appliances. I was trying to place an order online & I legiterally had questions. Their website doesn't update as often as they'd like, so PLEASE call them before placing an online order. I created an account, & living in Maricopa: "next day delivery " isn't exactly what can be expected out here. I wanted to make sure that, that would in fact, be true & the dish washer we chose was available too. The website sent me to the nearest location based off my zipcode. I spoke w/a rep from the ahwatukee location, promised to call me back as a customer just walked into the store.....wellp, I never got called back....Which ALMOST deterred me from calling another location. I decided to try one more location, I was so lucky to get Kyle Fleming. He was knowledgeable, helpful, polite, honest & should be given ALL the business for all of Spencer's potential customers. His ownership of the call, attentiveness was spot on & top notch. Albeit, it's just a dishwasher & not a whole kitchen appliance set: as long as Kyle works for Spencer's & our household needs other appliances throughout the house....he will have our business. My wife and I purchased a KitchenAid KRMF706EBS black stainless refrigerator. We had shopped at Lowes, Home Depot, and online and knew this was the product we wanted. Home Depot had a great price, but we were wary of their service due to personal and a neighbor's negative experiences with other products. I called Spencer's to shop further and talked with Rick (Ray) Romano. Ray offered the best price we could find, so we ordered from him over the phone - never set foot in Spencer's. We recieved the refrigerator a couple days later ... with a dented door. The installers pointed out the damaged door before unloading it, offering to take it back if I didn't want it. After speaking with Ray, we opted to accept the refrigerator with the understanding Spencer's would order a replacement door and install it when it arrived. The door arrived about a month later and a Spencers service crew arrived a day later to replace it. Easy peasy. All four servicemen who helped us with the refrigerator were efficient and answered all our questions. Not once did they appear to be rushed and all were friendly and quite knowledgeable. This service organization should be a great model for others to follow (Hear me Home Depot & Sears?) Spencer's will be our go-to retailer for future appliances. I recently had my front load washer go out on me and was torn whether I should just purchase a new set or just the washer. I did the regular price shopping at best buy, Fry's, Sears, as well as Spencer's. Here's the thing, all of the prices are fairly consistent even though I did end up getting the best deal at Spencer,s. So the way I look at is your buying a relationship because you know you will be replacing them every 5-10 years. What separated the salesman (Richie Alvarez) at Spencer's from the rest is the amount of information he was able to provide whether it be what I actually needed in terms size, brand, capacity, ect. In addition, they were very knowledgeable about rebates and promotions which made me decide to go ahead with buying the Whirlpool set instead of just the washer. I feel the salespeople at Spencer's look at their position as a career rather than a temporary position for a student trying to supplement their income which shows much more pride in their customer service. It's also nice to know you can deal with that same person 5 years later if need be which says a lot about a company's capability of retaining their staff. Richie even took care of the tedious rebate form that no one ever finds time to actually do. I will definitely be returning to Spencer's when I'm ready to upgrade my kitchen next year. read more

Should have read the reviews before going into this horrible place. Based on a good friend recommending this place, Dad purchased a microwave and wall oven from this terrible store - things went quickly downhill from there. Once the items were delivered it was discovered the oven was not the correct fit for the cabinet and a different size oven would have to be installed. The microwave fit fine. When the technician left to get a different oven, he didn't return with a new one for almost a week! The stove top was disconnected during installation and not reconnected and after Dad called and complained they finally came out - 3 days later! Soooooo....without a stovetop for 3 days, no oven for almost a week, the salesman (rude and condescending) told him he would have to pay an additional $149 for the different size oven. WHAT!!!!! The technician (who we were very happy with) came and installed the oven, was very professional and walked through the specifics about the oven with us. Spencer's offered no apology, no discount, no waiver of installation fees.....NOTHING!! Please save yourself a headache and never, EVER do business with this poor excuse for a retail appliance store. read more

I received the following email from Brian Dies (internet sales specialist for Spencer's, Mesa store on 1st ave.) after I let him know I closed a deal with his competitor "I am a little insulted that you did not even take a shot at letting me price match. . I thought you might give me another shot if you are taking my deal to my competitor. Are you the kind of guy that stiffs your waitress out of tip? They are after all hourly and I am paid nothing if I don't give you the best deal. In the end it is only to your disadvantage you paid more by not coming back with the option to take your deal." Sincerely, Brian I then let him know I was going to let his manager know about his email and he responded with this next email. "I earned your business and you did not give me an honest shot. My bosses email is tbrinkerhoff@spencerstv.com please immediately forward Thank you" I am still waiting for his manager to call me back...It's been several days now. By the way, I asked Brian for his best deal out the door delivered which was beat hands down by his competitor. My 17yr old dryer finally took a crap on Tuesday so I immediately got online and ordered a replacement from Spencers after researching Home Depot, Lowes, and Best Buy. I found Spencers to have better pricing and quicker delivery timeframes. Shortly after submitting my order for a Thursday delivery, I received a call from Shane telling me that they would not have that model in stock for 2-3 weeks. I didn't want to wait so he offered to find me a comparable model for immediate shipment. The same dryer was available in a different color and for $20 less which was ok with me so we revised the order and it was shipped to me the next day, Wednesday at 8am. The delivery/install guys (Javier & Kevin) were kind, efficient and professional and finished within 15 minutes! So, I had a new dryer in less than 24hrs from when mine failed me. These guys should be proud to work for a company with such standards and Spencers should be proud to have such employees as Shane, Javiar and Kevin. I love my new washer and couldn't be happier with the service and value provided. Thanks, Spencers! Once that old dryer fails, I know where I'll be going for the replacement! read more

Buyer Beware !!!!! Know what you are paying for !!!!! I am not sure if its just this Spencer's or all of them But, Know this!!!!! When you buy a product it doesn't mean that it will work correctly out of the box. What you are buying is a warranty that if it is broken they will warranty repair it. I bought a washer and dryer that was broken out of the box. They only way you can get around this is !!!!! Make sure they test every option of your NEW MACHINES ... Make them stay there 6 hours if needed, not their normal 10-15 min test they perform. Once you sign it is yours. So, where I live it sometimes takes 2-3 weeks to get a service person out to fix the units. As far as LG's policy on this (They will say they are only in Warranty Repair) so its up to the local store to replace your unit and (They WILL NOT). Reason: No one wants to be stuck with a unit that's defective out of the box, so they make you eat it. Very Very Poor customer service by Spencer's and LG. So its been about 1.5 months and I am still waiting for my units to get repaired properly. Its possible that's what you get for paying cash for your units. read more
