Love that there is now a Reunion in Brea. It was one of my favorite places to dine when I used to live in Anaheim Hills, but this Brea location is so much more spacious. The entry door is right across from Old Brea Chophouse and the Improv. The food came out super quick and was very tasty as well. Servers were super attentive and on top of things which I greatly appreciated and the manager even came around to table touch as well which was nice. Menu items are a variety I enjoyed their 10 year red blend I've tried their beef stroganoff and chicken & biscuit We had a surprise baby sprinkle for our friend. And the hostess was accommodating. Honestly i'm so impressed! We came here last minute and canceled our other reservation because I had heard amazing things about this place. First of all our server Cherish was WONDERFUL! She made us feel super comfortable which is always a plus. The restaurant itself was small but still super roomy. It was a darker vibe which gave nice jazz bar vibes. Had a late lunch with friends here on a Sunday afternoon. We began with their house spinach dip with artichoke. Although most restaurants serve it with chips, Reunion offers Parmesan bread and it's such a game changer! Sooo delicious! I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. I gave Reunion Kitchen 1 star across the board because the atmosphere, service, and food all fell well below expectations. The service was by far the worst part. We sat for over **20 minutes** without anyone coming to our table--not even to offer water. I eventually had to get up and ask someone to send a server over. What made it even more frustrating was watching other parties who arrived **15-20 minutes after us** receive water immediately and have their orders taken before anyone even acknowledged our table. After finally waiting another 10 minutes to receive our water, we had to track down our server again just to place our food order because no one returned to check on us. By that point, we had been sitting long enough and were more than ready to order. To make matters worse, we ordered an appetizer of coconut shrimp about five minutes after placing our entrée order, but it never arrived. After we had already finished our meals, we asked to cancel it, only to be told that our server had never entered the order in the first place. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the poor service. It lacked flavor and was very underwhelming. This experience was frustrating enough that I cannot recommend Reunion Kitchen. I initially wanted to believe this was simply an off day or an inexperienced server, but after hearing from two other people I know who described nearly identical experiences, it seems this may be a recurring issue. One thing that left me especially uncomfortable was seeing guests who arrived well after us receive prompt attention while our table was repeatedly overlooked. I can't say why that happened, but it certainly made us question whether we were being treated differently. Came here last night with the family. They originally seated us in the back, but there was very little to no light, so you could barely see the menu. I asked to move and they put us at a table up front with a lot more light. This was after we got our appetizers, but because it was getting dark outside, the ambient light from the window was going away. They were very accommodating. The food has always consistent, and the service was much better this time all around. The food came out promptly and we got our drinks timely. Our server didn't disappear for an extended period of time like we have seen before. I got the usual veggie burger, but this time it was different. Maybe it was the bun or the amount of toppings inside, but it was twice the size than I remember. My wife is gluten free and she got a lettuce wrap and it was enormous as well; mostly due to the stack of lettuce. I also got a lower-manhattan (old fashion) and it was pretty good as well. Funny enough, we did bring our little reunion to Reunion today. We came early so parking was easy, but keep in mind that parking could be tricky as this is a very popular area (the movie theater, improv, and just downtown brea itself patrons all need to park!) Not a lot of tuna but the mango relish made it refreshing. Hubby had the OC sour dough burger which was decent. I chose the Chilean sea bass special with roasted asparagus. Today was my first time eating lunch at Reunion. I also attended an event hosted by a performer at the improv in December. The event was super fun (great cocktails!) and a complete vibe. What we ordered: Chicken and Biscuits (shared): the biscuit was baked fresh to perfection, super fluffy and warm. Paired with a sausage gravy that was so delicious. The piece of chicken was a perfect size we both agreed it was super yummy. Chilaquiles Green (shared): a hint of spice, incredibly flavorful and they stayed crispy no sogginess here. Eggs over easy: came with both dishes mine were cooked perfectly. My friend's were overcooked which was a little odd but didn't ruin the vibe. California Omelet: packed with fillings and lots of avocado. It looked amazing and was enjoyed by the friend who ordered it. My only nitpick would be that the coffee drinks were as fun as the morning cocktails menu. A few coffee drink options would be a nice touch. We ordered just a regular cup of coffee. Service: Our server Cherish (if I'm remembering the name right) was absolutely amazing funny, attentive and on top of everything a girls GIRL! I have been to Reunion Kitchen + Drink in Anaheim so I was excited to see that they opened a new location in Brea. They are located in the downtown area with a convenient public lot behind the restaurant and parking garages a block away. The area is nice to walk around at afterwards if you are looking to hang out. I came here for a business meeting because I know their food is delicious with a lot of variety to choose from for all appetizes and dietary restrictions. They have 2 entrances, but the hostess bar is only on one side of the restaurant. The windows were nice and open and they weather was nice so we decided to sit at a large booth by the windows. Oh and just to note, the restrooms are located outside of the restaurant. My colleague had the Blackened Halibut Sandwich ($29.95) with tater tots and I had the Chicken Pot Pie ($21.95). My colleague really enjoyed his sandwcih and tots. I really liked my pot pie as well. It was super creamy and rich and I appreciate that it was served with a side of vegetables as well. Yum. We also shared a Warm Butter Cake ($12.95) and asked for the ice cream on the side since my colleague is lactos, but it came with the ice cream on top. We asked for sharing plates and they only brought one. Anyways, on a brighter note, I really love the butter cake and my colleague was in agreement. House spinach dip, which I really enjoyed. It was flavorful without being overly creamy, and they served it with a generous portion of bread. My main was the sliced steak and potato salad. The steak was cooked perfectly and super tender, the potatoes were well-seasoned, and the salad was fresh. The only downside was that the dressing on the salad was a bit heavy for me. There's some parking in the back and a parking garage close by. We ordered the following: * Double Oklahoma Smash Burger $24.95 Comes with a side of shoestring fries, slaw, or potato salad. This was so refreshing with a citrus kick. I will be craving this appetizer for a while!! It was mouthwatering delish! We hade the cioppino and tequila lime shrimp for dinner - um.. yuuuummmm. We got the citrus salmon salad and veggie burger with shoe string fries. The veggie burger on brioche was delicious! They also use a house made patty with only 12 ingredients. Typically I go to the one on santa ana canyon in anaheim hills. But this one was really nice as well, love with the open windows you get the fresh air. Our waitress was super sweet even though she had tons of tables she was very attentive. Food was phenomenal per usual. I didnt even venture out. We went to Reunion Kitchen + Drink to celebrate Mother's Day for my wife and daughter. My wife and I arrived before the rest of our party and were seated promptly. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel welcome and important. We ordered drinks and appetizers while waiting for the rest of our group. The spinach dip was amazing! I ordered the Double Oklahoma Smashburger and wow, was it big and delicious! My wife had the Short Rib Stroganoff which she thoroughly enjoyed. My daughter and son both had the Slow Braised Short Ribs which were also very good. The final highlight was the Hot Fudge Cake that we all loved. This place is noisy but that's to be expected as it's a pretty big restaurant and apparently very popular. It has a kind of industrial vibe and has large windows that lets in lots of light. I've been to Reunion once before in Anaheim Hills a couple years ago, and was looking forward to them opening one in Brea! I'll start by saying that apparently they opened months ago, which I was surprised to hear! I was under the impression it was still under construction, and truthfully their location is awkward. We walked toward the back and on the side of the street, opened a side door that put us in the middle of the restaurant, and only then found the actual entrance. It wasn't super clear and considering they're a newer spot it might be confusing for someone who's never been. I only found out they were open through a google search ! Still aside from that the restaurant itself is nice. It's clean and has a great vibe for dates or group gatherings. Our server Kendall was awesome! She was super friendly and answered all our questions about the menu and even gave us drinks suggestions! Now I don't know what was happening at the bar, but our cocktails didn't arrive until after our food came out. Our server would check on us and check on the drinks, but it seemed to me that the bartenders were having trouble getting the drinks out. Not a big deal in the grand scheme, but we definitely saw other larger tables sat after us get their drinks way faster. Still, Kendall was attentive and made sure we were taken care of! Food and drink wise I really enjoyed my meal! Our cocktails tasted great and my fried chicken was very tasty. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, and our waitress, Avery, as well as other Reunion staff were so pleasant and accommodating. They helped me decorate our table a bit, stored our cake in the refrigerator while we had lunch, helped serve it, and took photos for us. Everyone in our party loved what they ordered, were made to feel really welcome, and not rushed in the least. Avery even packed all of our leftover food for us in labeled take away boxes - amazing service, all given with genuine kindness and warmth.
