Took my parents here on Mother's Day. Had a reservation & arrived early. For the reservation, had stated my preference for being seated on the patio, and if not, then by the window w/ a view of the water. Our table was inside w/ the feeling of strong cold air felt from the a/c. The restaurant was noted to be fairly crowded. Noted that the service was beyond slow w/ very few servers. I believe we didn't receive glasses of water for over 10+ minutes, then a server didn't come to our table for over 20+ minutes. After that I think our server came back maybe 1X. When we wanted something, we had to ask other workers passing by our table. It took over 45+ minutes for our food to arrive. The service was beyond awful & shocking for a day that most everywhere is packed. When we received our bill, there were many items on it that we hadn't ordered. We asked to speak w/ the manager. He quickly came by & owned up to the lack of service & overall negative experience that we had. He provided us everything free of charge w/ a gift card. The whole night was very anxiety provoking & the food was mediocre. Unfortunately will not be returning there. read more

We hosted a Bridal Shower in the private room and it was wonderful! There was no rental fee for the room or no food and beverage minimum! We were able to decorate as we wished and we brought in a balloon arch and our own flowers. The Manager, Ryan was in constant communication to make sure the room was set up the way we needed. When we arrived, the room was completely set up and our server Bailey, was there to help in any way needed! She had sparkling wine ready as the guests arrived, we truly couldn't have asked for a nicer afternoon for our Bride to Be! Oh, did I mention the food was fantastic?! Each guest ordered what they liked off the menu. Truly a wonderful experience, we will be back for Sunday Brunch!! read more

The staff is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is awesome - great lake view and roomy interior. I like the local beer selection - both on tap and cans. I was happy to be able to try Red's Table for brunch. Service was friendly. We were seated on their enclosed and heated outdoor area. It was great to have the heat on a winter's day, but when the heat became too much for us, the waitress was so kind to the heat for us so that we were more comfortable. I tried the brunch poutine, shrimp and grits, and smoked salmon benedict. I really enjoyed the poutine and shrimp and grits. The shrimp was well seasoned and cooked, and the grits were cheesy and fluffy. I thought the salmon Benedict was bland, so probably wouldn't get that in the future. If you haven't been, I definitely recommend giving Red's Table a try. It sits on a lake, so is also really scenic. read more

We had a fantastic brunch. It was a beautiful late fall morning on the patio overlooking the lake. Allie our server was excellent and the food was really well done. We had a few appetizers - goat cheese balls, crab dip, and boom boom shrimp, along with chicken and waffles and a couple breakfast sandwiches. I don't live close to Red's but each time I dine here, I think to myself, "I should come here more often." And it's true! Red's is a such an easy, pleasant, reliable spot to enjoy a meal and drinks. Service: friendly, accommodating, attentive (but not overly so!), knowledgeable Food: quality ingredients, nice portions (not insane amounts of food but you're not leaving hungry), and nicely presented (without being fussy). And although I'm not vegetarian or vegan, they have a few nice selections for those who are. Atmosphere: comfortable and warm inside. Outside seating (when the weather is amenable) is an absolute delight (soothing water view, anyone?). Logistics: they take reservations (always appreciated), and there is ample free parking. We enjoyed our sweet potato salad with steak and shared dessert afterwards, on a lovely autumn afternoon. This restaurant is located in a busy shopping center and it is set by the Patomic River in Reston. Their a large food choice. We were a private party of 10, so we had our own private room/type covered balcony. This is a venue my company uses frequently, and we're always very pleased with their service. Their appetizers were great, as well as the entrée. There's a full bar, and their prices are reasonable. It's a great venue for company events. We'll be back here in a few weeks for another company dinner. Great place, and I recommend it. read more

Was here last week for the first time. WOW. I've lived in this area for 8 years and never went. Sat outside looking over the lake and the fresh air and ambiance was amazing. Inside was too noisy and no view. Ordered the burger and onion rings which were both very good. Burger was perfectly prepared but the onion rings. Oh my gosh. The best I've ever had. Literally the best. I would go back and just order two plates of those. I was so surprised this restaurant was in my neighborhood and I've never been there. What a gem. read more

We just had a horrible experience at Red's table. Went there with my wife and daughter, and we ordered the goat cheese fritters, kid's pomodoro pasta, ricotta gnocchi and the NY strip steak. The good: The goat cheese fritters were good, no complaints. The bad: The kid's pasta was raw, not al dente. (also, who would even make pasta al dente for kids?). When I say raw, I mean you could see the thick white strip of uncooked pasta when you cut the penne in half. The horrible: Both the gnocchi AND the steak tasted like rancid oil, or rancid meat or something. We tried the gnocchi first, and immediately gagged. We tried to flag down our waitress, but she took a while coming over. In the meantime, I tried the steak, and ...same exact taste! Seriously awful, off-putting rancid taste. We immediately went in and told the waitress. She asked if we wanted them to cook it again...like, no, I don't want NEW rancid food. The fact that TWO different dishes had the exact same awful taste is a pretty good indication that it's something bigger than just the one dish. They brought the check, and we paid for the fritters and the pasta and got out of there as fast as possible. The most frustrating thing was, nobody apologized, there was no coupon or comping of anything we DID eat, nothing. With disgusting food and awful management, we will never go back to Red's table. read more

I'm a local Restonian who grew up next to SLSC so I've been frequenting this spot since the Lakeside Inn days. I brought some of my sales team here on Friday at 2:30pm to sit on the patio to do business reviews then transition into happy hour and dinner. We had ordered apps and drinks throughout our time here and were catching up when the manager Craig came up to us and notified us that we had been there for "...3 hours and 10 minutes" and that he had "...waited as long as he could" but we had to go and gave us the check. This was a first for me at any restaurant. While I understand his priority to monetize a prime table on a Friday night, I'm shocked at how inhospitable this was considering he's a manager in the hospitality industry. Why not try to upsell us by sending the staff over to tell us about the specials or promoting a bottle of wine? We had every intention of ordering dinner. Instead he created a memorably embarrassing moment for me and my guests. No chance I'll be hosting anyone ever again at Reds which is too bad as it was one of my favorite places to take guests. read more

Stopped here for Sunday brunch. Red's Table is part of larger shopping area with ample parking nearby. Its waterfront location has a nice view of the lake both in and outside. The outside area is open during nice weather and has a cover during winter. Seating was prompt and we started with coffee and mimosas, both were good. Cool place for being in a shopping center. The food was very well presented and full of flavor. There were a couple other menu items that looked interesting, so when back in the area, I'll be back. Little bizarre is they paper clip the check to a post card when they present it. If you remove the paper clip and post card to read the check and give your credit card, the will attach another postcard, with a paper clip, when they return the charge receipt and your card. It's so strange, I had to ask. Turns out the post card is backing for the charge receipt not to curl and so the pen will actually write. read more

I have probably been here five times over the last few years. There are some strong pros, but also some improvement opportunities: Pros: - this restaurant is a small business gem in a sea of chain restaurants and fried food joints - the location on the water is unbeatable if you can snag an outdoor seat - the mushroom and rolled oat burger is an awesome vegetarian option! It has structure and bite (aka not mushy) and comes with fries, onion rings, or a side salad - the parking is easy and the waitstaff has been consistently friendly - the food is always fresh and flavorful - the beer menu is extensive and features fun local options Opportunities: - there is no clear system for outdoor seating, which is very frustrating since we come here specifically because we can eat outdoors - sometimes we wait 10 minutes and others 45, even if we see an available table - the menu is unclear given that the sandwiches come with a choice of side - the menu only has one vegetarian appetizer, one vegetarian sandwich, and one vegetarian pasta option - the menu's pricing is all over the place, which makes splitting with another couple difficult and/or awkward - the appetizers are expensive relative to the portions provided read more

Tried Red's for the first time for brunch. Service was a little on the slow side but not terrible. Our waitress was very nice and pleasant. There were a lot of kids that walked around picking up empty glasses and plates which was nice. One that brought our appetizer did over "man-handle" the plate but at least didn't touch the food. The fried goat cheese was by far the best things we ate. I got the chicken and waffles, my friend got the caramelized peach French toast. She seemed to enjoy it. The fried chicken was great. Breading wasn't too heavy, cooked well. Problem was it lacked seasoning. You could see the salt on the breading but seemed the chicken and batter/breading was not initially seasoned. The waffles were very good. A little cold, no butter. I got the sriracha maple sauce with it, also good. The Bloody Mary was pretty watered down, asked for it to be spicy but was missing a lot of flavor. The espresso martini was excellent. I got the impression there was a single bartender, and the bartender was responsible for delivering all drinks. Not necessarily the best system. Nice view of the lake. Our party of 4 showed up without a reservation on Homecoming night (unbeknownst to us) and were seated and served quickly . The food was wonderful and offered creative and unique options even for Gluten Free and Vegan. The service was awesome and our server , Rosanna, was simply charming and fun! Went here for the first time on a Friday afternoon. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, the beers they have on tap and in cans (lot of local stuff) was great. We weren't super enthusiastic about the cocktails we tried but we'll certainly be back to try other concoctions. Highly recommend the shrimp appetizer, the burger and fries are great, and the crab cake entree was absolutely fantastic. Heck, only issue is there are some crappy drivers in this busy shopping center which can be aggravating but will perhaps make you enjoy your adult beverages more when you're taking the edge off read more
